you have to admit the ambient soundtrack is a bit shit

I have to admit no such thing. T2’s soundtrack is amazing. I have no idea how many times I’ve seen this movie, and the music cues still get me.

best slasher of all time, good taste. Halloween was originally a sequel to Black Christmas and borrows many of the techniques used to make it so effective, the soundtrack is equally horrifying.

I will admit that part did. Other than that the movie is near flawless.

I don’t know why, but nihilistic endings are a lot more impactful in movies from before the 80s.

the CGI is Playstation level now, come on.

It feels very 1970s. Still a good film.

>Halloween was originally a sequel to Black Christmas

I had no idea this was the case. Now I have to watch both

rewatched it recently and it hasnt aged a day. real stunts and no CGI does help it remain timeless.

That’s fair, but it’s still not so bad that it impacts the movie in any way that I can’t tolerate. I compare this to something like the mummy returns where somehow the cgi looks worse

Yeah. Like, it never takes me out of the movie. It looks bizarre and sticks out in the way that something like a shape-shifting mass of sentient metal should. And the bits where the CG has to approximate something realistic are so brief that you don’t register how fake it looks.

It works because CGI is mostly used for stuff that doesn't exist.

Unifigurative perfection. Genysys T-1000 looks like shit because of how overproduced the effects are.

War Movies that cant be dated

Apocalypse Now
Platoon
Three Kings
Master and Commander
Paths of Glory
Empire of the Sun
Black Hawk Down

>you have to admit the ambient soundtrack is on your play list
It is.

>the CGI is Playstation level now, come on.
You probably think the scenes with melting mercury played backwards are CGI.

Absolutely spine chilling. Seriously disquieting despite being made forty years ago.

An actual objective 10/10
Still probably the best action movie ever made
