What comic book property is left to take to the big screen?
What comic book property is left to take to the big screen?
Something actually good and well thought out
Something romantic
Transmetropolitan, but eventually DUDE WEED LMAO will end up doing it for Amazon i fear.
Maus
>Transmetropolitan
>Transmetropolitan chronicles the battles of Spider Jerusalem, infamous renegade gonzo journalist of the future.
> he and his "filthy assistants" strive to keep their world from turning more dystopian than it already is while dealing with the struggles of fame and power
could be good
There are many good, non-cape European comics. I hope they go nowhere near them. Luc Besson already sabotaged Valérian et Laureline.
Corto Maltese would be relatively cheap to make, I would have thought. Instead they all gamble on the most obscenely expensive productions.
Maybe the invisibles
The work employs postmodernist techniques and represents Jews as mice, Germans as cats, and Poles as pigs
>Corto Maltese
The series features Corto Maltese, an enigmatic sea captain who lives in the first three decades of the 20th century. Born in Valletta on the island of Malta on 10 July 1887, the son of a sailor from Cornwall, and a gypsy from Seville.
call me Corto
The series loosely follows the doings of a single cell of The Invisible College, a secret organization battling against physical and psychic oppression using time travel, magic, meditation, and physical violence.
This seems pretty obvious. Fund this
god i want to suck her toes and suckle her small breasts
>"Born Again" is a 1986 comic book story arc that appeared in the Marvel Comics series Daredevil. Written by Frank Miller
>The story details Daredevil's descent into insanity and destitution at the Kingpin's hands, as well as a subsequent struggle to build a new life for himself.
just with Marvel there are 12,000+ characters
probably about 6000+ with some sort of power or special fighting ability
of those probably 300+ are actually cool from a power or design standpoint
150+ are heroes or anti-heroes
there's probably 25+ teams that are cool from a conceptual standpoint
in other words, capeshit wont ever ever end
how many of those are different enough to stand on their own? You would think there is a lot of powers crossover. or is it all like female/male versions count as 2.
Name ten that have not been done before already that could have a chance of success.
In production somewhere for a streaming service
The year is 2036 and capefilms are more popular than ever.
Nextwave
Wildcats
Justice Society of America
Cerebus
>natural red-head beauty
>role of Nebula demands she be constantly bald
>doomed to actually be on film, wearing unconvincing red wigs instead of her natural hair
It's sad
This series has more landmines in it that'd fuck the entire thing up than almost any other property.
>fucking appliances hooked on drugs that won't work right unless you give them a fix
>trans-species aliens
Not a fucking chance anyone does this properly. Please just leave Transmetro alone.
>Nextwave
>Nextwave are super agents who rebelled against their anti-terrorism employer H.A.T.E when they inadvertently discovered that instead of fighting terrorism they were working for a company PROMOTING terrorism by releasing prototype WMDs
> put these forgotten Marvel characters together to fight lame villains - old Marvel characters, Not Brand Echh comic characters, doubles from lame characters - in an extremely successful attempt to mock the very comic book industry he is writing for.
Galacta
Oculus was her real hair though right, that was filmed in 2012 before she became Nebula
lies
>Galacta
>Galacta is the daughter of Galactus. However, she did not let her hunger for planets consume her like it did to Galactus, and instead decided to live peacefully on Earth, in human form, using the alias Gali.
> She uses her powers secretly to protect Earth and its inhabitants from non-native organisms (such as alien viruses and living biological weapons) by consuming them. However, she finds that her hunger cannot be satisfied, and after analyzing herself, discovers a cosmic creature equivalent to a tapeworm (dubbed the "Tapeworm Cosmic") inside her. After sending a message to her father for help, she goes in search of hostile alien lifeforms to satisfy her hunger.
WOULD WATCH
She only went bald for the first film. Now she just keeps it medium length and wears bald caps that disguise it.
>after analyzing herself, discovers a cosmic creature equivalent to a tapeworm (dubbed the "Tapeworm Cosmic") inside her
Finally a superheorine for the bulimic girls.
>Cerebus
>Sim, who was at the time a frequent marijuana user, began using LSD, taking the drug with such frequency that he was eventually hospitalized. It was this incident that Sim claims led to the inspiration to produce Cerebus for 300 monthly issues
>Cerebus is introduced as an amoral barbarian mercenary, fighting (and betraying) for money and drinking it away.
neat
Neil Gaiman's sandman
Cerebus & Sandman are both almost entirely unfilmable. Cerebus would be "easier" to pull off, but nobody would even try to nail the absurdist tone.
Blackjack.
No superpowers, just a jacked ex cop.
Could be Marvel's Batman if they did it right.
>Sneed battled Shang-Chi and was revealed as Smith's nephew, after which he was defeated by Shang Chi and was left severely injured.
Shang Chi is on their upcoming Ph4 slate, he'd likely show up there.
Dave got a phone call from some Hollywood dude trying to buy rights to cerebus (though probably just to sit on it and never make the movie). Dave told him not to waste his money as no one would want to watch a cerebus movie
I think it could work as "amoral barbarian goes on some adventures and then ends up being pushed into politics and runs as prime minister" (basically the first two books smashed into a movie)
Sandman is harder because the endless are kind of an abstract concept for a two movie
You could kind of do the "sandman gets trapped for 100 years" like in the first book and then he has to find his Gem that some serial killer is using to give people nightmares.
So then it's basically a horror movie. Neil wrote a script but I don't think he was all that happy with it.
the goon
>nightmare mode
B.P.R.D.
Cerebus would only really work as an AS type animated series nobody had any expectations of success for. Only time I could see anyone wanting or able to be faithful to at least the feel of it. Trying to make a franchise out of it would be a disaster.
Sandman & a lot of others (like Transmetro that was mentioned) could also only be pulled off with some kind of series. SM's best material relied on all the framework the series had laid in to make it more than average or mediocre, aside from great concepts like the Corinthian.
>the goon
They tried that.
youtube.com
David Fincher pitched an animated movie with Blur Studios' Tim Miller. It didn't go anywhere, as far as I know. Miller of course is the guy who directed Deadpool, that test footage that leaked, which got the film greenlit, was produced at Blur. Miller and Fincher together produced that recent "Love, Death and Robots" thing on Netflix.
Vertigo's Sandman
Swamp Thing Remake
The Boys
The Immortals
Constantine Reboot
The Goon
Y the Last Man
mfw
I remember watching this movie just for her.
Wasnt terrible
Bone
I'd love to see Maxx done, if the perfect adaptation of it didn't already exist.
Wetworks
>The Boys
incoming
youtube.com
Sandman might be doable but they cant use any DC crossover characters like Constantine or Scott Free or Doctor Destiny
>Vertigo's Sandman
If they make movies out of that instead of a ridiculously high-cost tv series after American Gods is done it'll be fucked. There's no way to cram all of it into a movie series structure. It needs to be sprawling with episodes having different feels, like a horror episode for the 24 Hours diner story, and maybe even a fully animated episode dealing with a particular dream.
>The Boys
Hughie's an American without a beard. It's fucked.
Please god no.
DC could target the deadpool AND guardians audience with one r-rated movie at once
Fuck yes
We've reached some sort of flashpoint of things that aren't suitable for big screen adaptions getting big screen adaptions... so why not go all out?
They would never be edgy enough to do Lobo right.
>they wasted Neil Marshall on that shitty Hellboy movie instead of having him direct a BPRD movie, bringing with him his flair for soldier banter
A FUCKING TRAVESTY.
Pretty good feet. Any closer images?
>maybe even a fully animated episode dealing with a particular dream
The one about the "folk tales of the cats" comes to mind.
Bezos. u done it again!
NOBODY has the balls to do Lobo properly, except perhaps Uwe Boll. But then it'd still be other kinds of terrible.
I think the volumes could be feasable as singular movies despite lots happening
They have enough for phase 4 and 5, past that it really depends on if they can sell people on young avengers and other offshoot concepts. Phase 6 may be when we get elsewhere stories like Marvel zombies or End of Hulk.
>soundtrack is just a who's who of black & death metal
Whatever happened to the Fabled movie? If they did a good job it could be pure kino
How was this in a children's cartoon?
Road to Perdition has always been adapted
They got Fan4 and Xmen back. Probably use Silver Surfer with Fan4. Could do Mr. Sinister with Xmen.
>How was this in a children's cartoon?
It isn't a children's cartoon.
Or at least, it likes to think that's not what it is.
nasty ass euro teeth
>Literally any other picture of Karen, Scarlet or Pom
Godesses
>This fucking picture
Possible fetal alcohol syndrome, a lesbian auntie and some sort of android made to mimmick how humans look
It's a Miller's Crossing style mobster story except with demons, soul-selling and curses. Hire Del Taco for the visual flair and it could be a smash hit.
I want to lick her feet
Nightwing
Directed by Snyder
>comicbook.com
>“I shaved half of my head this time, but they took away the butt — like, the underneath-half of my hair, and then left the top part. That was the best gift ever,”
What does that even MEAN?
they love their cigs
>I HAZ FORK!!!
6 movies and a tv show
They took the layers underneath the top/most visible layer of hair.
thats batgirl, jim gordon's daughter. bat woman is a lesbian.
Batman is not a children's cartoon.
If we're talking Marvel I think they have enough to complete phase 4 and start out phase 5 till they can find a way to writing in mutants. F4 is not a problem it's just that the villains are what's carrying them cos no one really gives a shit about stretchy cuck man, invisi-hoe, fire twink and hulk-lite. They can still do deadpool because of what it is but anything else they have to come up with something.
The Tick. the series has been great so far, especially the second season
with Henry Cavill as the tick
that's actually a great idea
>5'11 vs 6'
she looks so pretty in this slutty makeup
Transmetropolitan is already DUDE WEED LMAO by itself
Howard Chaykin's American Flagg
You are shortchanging the shit out of it.

no more comic books please, we've had enough of this faggotry in this decade
Trans person of color version of everything NOW
How does Dano do it lads?
ElfQuest has been trying to get a movie made for decades.
Better if it gets milked to death to stave off the future resurgence for far longer.
WHO IS SHE?
It's great. Plebs think it's just le wacky adventures of le wacky journalist mane but there's a really strong story underneath it.
Finally the manlet Wolverine we all deserve
Jessica Nelson, stage name is Stoya. She does hardcore porn
damn, I knew she looked familiar. thanks
what is she doing with classic dano though?
When will DC make their Not-The-Punisher Movie?
Paul Dano
classic as always
I can name plenty of Marvel's villains who haven't been done yet.
Kang
Annihilus
Sinister
Phalanx/Technarchy
Thunderbolts (inititally)
Molecule Man
Leader
High Evolutionary
Namor (sometimes)
Shuma Gorath (and minions)
Psycho Man
footfags would fuck men if they had bags over their heads
You can easily tell the difference between a girl's feet and a man's
It'd be cool to see a movie like pic related from a henchman's point of view
an angel
Oh no, he'd unironically do Ric Grayson
>Black Science
that fagot wrote for Marvel
>Marvel's Batman
Moon Knight would be a safer bet for this role
Saucer
>nipple
MOOOOOOOOOOOODS
I have this crazy idea, that I hope hollywood doesn't steal. What if you came up with a completely original storyline and universe, and you made just a couple well thought out movies, and then just leave it alone... And maybe make a cartoon out of whatever ideas are left over.
tfw no bighat gf
