fanfiction doesn't suddenly become canon just because the author passes away
Is he dead in the book?
Are you implying the books would end differently? Honestly, of all days, after the available recent evidence, what kind of idiot would still be interested in his work?
Are you a fucking moron? Did you read the books?
He doesn't work on the fucking tv show you goddamn idiot.
Cool, i dont read books. Theyre boring and gay and last I checked we dont live in the 18th century anymore
>reading
Is the muhbooksfag's delusion THAT strong?
How about yours? You did read the books, if you have such an established opinion about them, right?
After season 4 they strayed away from the books, at this point they made a deal to not release the books untill the show is finished
The next book will be announced shortly after the season finale.
Ironic that the author who bitched for years about fanfiction is having his work destroyed by it.
The changes to the overarching narrative are minimal; the key differences lie in extra storylines that are trimmed down for logistics, convenience and sometimes, just to fuck around with the fandom. There's no reason to think the conclusion of Others vs. Men is going to be different: there might be some more or different characters involved and there will be more key events setting the ground, but the fact is: The supernatural menace will be stopped at the Winterfell Battle. The endgame is still Madqueen vs the Rest
>The changes to the overarching narrative are minima
That's bullshit

Bullshit
>The supernatural menace will be stopped at the Winterfell Battle.
not a single textual or subtextual clue about that, bullshit
tl;dr you watched the show and for some retarded reason you assume the books will be the same because binging on Yea Forums memes made you hate the fat fuck for no good reason.
"quibble"
Good. I cant wait for some turbo sperg to release a compilation of interviews/articles where he trashes Tolkien for fantasy tropes and then compare it scene for scene with the s8 of the tv series, since he never finished the books.
>Read Fire and Blood
>GRRM is still using the phrase "words are wind" over and over
Yeah I'm thinking he's finished
For a guy that dislikes the common fantasy tropes so much, he sure gave his legacy to the right people.
FAT PINK MAST
>cant wait for some turbo sperg to release a compilation of interviews/articles where he trashes Tolkien
I can't wait for the day larping normalfags like you will actually read the interviews in question rather than one out of context quote memes to death by Yea Forums and find out that he doesn't actually trash Tolkien at all, and actually admires the guy.
So never ever, because you're a retarded sheep that's been forcefed memes as source of information. Utterly disgusting.
bookfag cope
Ive seen the complete interviews actually and he does trash Tolkien. Mustve flown over your public American education.
What's the point of your post?
If he ate a lot of beans he would be George R.R. Fartin'.
he literally met up with the directors and writers and told them how the story was going to end.
Funny then, that you can't explain why or how at all and try to distract us from this embarrassing fact by assuming I'm American.
To bully unironic Song of Ice and Fire fans
This. HBO paid GRRM to not release the books until after the show ended so that D&D could end the show how they wanted. GRRM has no artistic integrity and doesn't care how his series is remembered as long as he gets paid.
Who needs those stupid books
SLAY QUEENS YASSSSSSSSSSSSSSS

Was there any textual or subtextual clue in the show about it?
I know it's increasingly tough to hold on to "the real story" when the franchise is obviously going to be remembered mostly for the tv show, but deluding yourself into thinking the novels are some sort of defining major work of literature with proper groundwork and execution is not really healthy. Just switch to Rothfuss purism, the adaptation of that shit is going to be a wreck from the get go so you'll have a better chance at the improbable moral superiority you crave
He gave them guidelines about the ending, not described the entire thing chapter by chapter
And since they heavily changed pretty much everything since the last 4 seasons, they obviously had to makes changes regardless.
But yeah, you can also pretend like he totally wrote that shit even though he obviously didn't.
What's bad about liking the books?
>in b4 retarded 16 years old pseud projecting all the flaws of the tv show upon books he never read.
>not an argument
No argument needed to answer to obvious lies and vague statements made by someone who at best checked the synopsis on wikipedia.
I know it's trendy to shit on everything to make people think you have some sort of personal culture but you've demonstrated nothing except that you didn't read the books and are just shitting on them because you feel like winning internet cred points
they are definitely better and a lot more interesting than retarded contrarians who never read them give them credit for. I don't give a fuck about your other shitty serie that will soon get butchered by a worse adaptation though, you can stick it in your ass.
Asoiaf is a really good book with, indeed, proper groundwork and execution. You'd know, or would be able to tell us why it somehow isn't, if you had actually read it and weren't just parroting memes. You goddamn sheep.
>in b4 retarded 16 years old pseud projecting all the flaws of the tv show upon books he never read.
Relax bro, I don't even think about it that deeply.
The entire affair is just hilarious to me. You've been strung along for a satisfying resolution to a story for nearly 30 years while this fat idiot gets millions of dollars and does nothing. He's going to die and the only ending to the story will be this utterly retarded fanfic
That's why he told D&D everything that he planned to happen so that he could just slack off and enjoy a life of luxury
>lol bro like I don't take anything seriously bro, like it's just a big comedy bro, like just be an insufferable underage moron and mock everything bro, it's just hilarious bro
honk honk, fuck off normalfag.
>If you had read it you would like it
It's amazing you keep clinging to that notion over and over; it borders worship. I mean, at least try and claim I'm too stupid to realize they're great or something
This is what I'm talking about, literal seething. It's too fun to not pick no you right now
Reminder Tolkien finished most of his books because he didnt havento think of tax policies
uhhhh yesh shae feed me another slice of pizza my dear
he told another author, his friend, the ending who is supposed to finish the books in his stead if he dies.
hes written himself into a corner, just because theres so much going on and hes got two books left to finish it. of course, now those two books are turning into 4 irrc
Read the post, it's just the previous line, you'd be able to tell us why it's somehow not a good book with proper groundwork and execution if you had indeed read them or had any semblance of an actual opinion on the matter without parroting memes.
Martin stopped working on the TV show during season 2.
After that everything went to shit, they started adding useless scenes and characters while removing ones that were vital to the story.
The show removed half of the characters that are in the books, among them some of the most important ones, the story plays a lot differently that it does in the novel.
Season 1 was the only season that was 100% faithful to the books, season 2 started straying away from them by butchering Stannis's character and adding dumb shit. Now the story has absolutely nothing to do with what happens and is foreshadowed in the books.
I'm only angry at your retarded ass for being an insufferable obvious underage piece of worthless trash, I stopped watching the show mid season 6.
What I don't understand is that I personally wouldn't find it funny if I was so fucking stupid and moronic I made people angry about it. I just don't understand what kind of entertainment you derive from something so dumb, but then again I'm not 14 anymore.
Harmless schadenfreude and a reminder not to have personal investment in the media you consume
Why consume "media" (whatever the fuck that means since we're talking about a book) if are not invested in it? Why not do literally anything else?
I swear, nihilistic poseurs are a bunch of braindead faggots.
What were the tax policies in ASOIAF? More drink=more shit?
Read it and find out
Look, it's a bummer when a show you like gets cancelled or a story otherwise can't finish, it's happened to me before, but it's something that is really is not of any consequence and if a two word shitpost makes you genuinely angry like this you should take a walk or something. There are other things to enjoy.
Your retarded attitude is the only thing that pisses me off. In addition to being a braindead ironic moron, you are a worthless hypocrite. Why do you even bother posting? You have nothing funny or interesting to say.
I make very good posts and get lots of (You)s, thank you very much
im currently a week away from blowing my brains out if i was in the US i would kill him just to make this meme a reality
Fuck off, dumbass. You're one of the many reddit tumors on the cancer killing this site. Just neck yourself, no one will miss you.
he looks like he has some weird fetishes
You won't do it, worthless coward.
>he told another author, his friend, the ending who is supposed to finish the books in his stead if he dies.
Last thing I heard was that GRRM had decreed that all his notes would be burned after his death and that no one would be allowed to touch ASOAIF. Are you perhaps confusing GRRM with Robert Jordan, who picked Brandon Sanderson to finish his Wheel of Time books before his own death?
>prove there's no proper groundwork and execution
As the novels are not out yet, I can't, and conversely you can prove there IS either. I'm just extrapolating from the general quality of his writing that there's no real reason to believe he will do better overall than the general progression of the story as depicted in the show. That's obviously my opinion; your own opinion is what's fueling the peculiar faith you seem to be investing in him, but not fact.
They're ultimately getting to "the same place" as both the showrunners and GRRM have claimed. Characters will take different paths and detours, but if the endgame doesn't include Ice guys in the show, it's fair to believe it won't in the novels either.
>just extrapolating from the general quality of his writing
Which is exactly what I'm asking you to demonstrate, and what you can't, because you are meme-addled intellectual wreck who hasn't read the books. Thanks for proving my point yet again.
Serves him right, that lazy sack of suet.
MYRISH SWAMP
Go sleep, and then force yourself to do 20 pushups in the morning. Don't eat until you've done all 20 pushups. Eat light. Take a multivitamin.
>Last thing I heard was that GRRM had decreed that all his notes would be burned after his death and that no one would be allowed to touch ASOAIF.
Are you sure you're not mistaking him with Pratchett, who actually had his unfinished works destroyed by being an over by a steamroller?
>I'm just extrapolating from the general quality of his writing.
>Impliying you have read any of his works.
>Impliying you read.
Come now user.
this is true.
he's now not finishing the books out of spite.
T. retard
Nothing is killing this site, it's been the same shit the past ten years.
>literally "you didnt read the books you did naaawt" over and over
Aw geez don't floor me with that huge spectrum of counterarguments lads ;) I mean I'm literally seething here.
>They're ultimately getting to "the same place" as both the showrunners and GRRM have claimed.
>both
Showrunners said that, Martin has always said the contrary.
Indeed, but this kind of moronic attitude was always fucking cancerous.
Which is why i speed through the garbage show at 2x speed while doing something else... so i dont have to wait for proper conclusion that will never happen.
>give developed counterargulents to my blatant lies, extrapolation and vague statements with no backings from the text nor indication that I've actually read the books
lol, earn them.
>gime me a medal and instant agreement with my opinions for reading the novels
Have you even read OTHER books?
>counterarguments
There is nothing to counterargue, user, you have already made clear that you are speaking without knowing what youre speaking about. It's like you want to talk about mathematics without knowing how to add, subtract or multiply.
>let me make a dumb snarky remark at you instead of actually defending my shitty point of view
Yes I have, a couple thousand actually.
>I don’t think [showrunners] Dan [Weiss] and David [Benioff]’s ending is going to be that different from my ending because of the conversations we did have,” Martin said in a new interview with 60 Minutes [in 2019], referring to a fateful multi-day conference in which he spilled the broad strokes of the ending back in 2013. “But there may be – on certain secondary characters, there may be big differences.”
>defending my shitty point of view
You don't bring snowballs to a shit fight user
>"there may be big differences.”, says incredibly nervous writer as he discovers the later seasons
Indeed I don't know why I bothered with them when I knew from the start I was engaging a dumb pseud with no arguments.
It's good that you admit that both what you're saying and your opinion are shit.
That line is from 2019 user.
Yet another proof that television writing can never come close to literature. GRRM wasnt the greatest of fantasy writers, but its amazing how D&D managed to make GoT even shittier after they ran out of original material to work with.
Well, somebody has to
stop pretending you know what you're talking about the book has completely different characters and plot points.
