Reposting D&D's quality writing explanation.
I AM ANGRY
ANGRY ABOUT JEWISH DIRECTORS
youtu.be
OHNONONO DABID
is he seriously pretending that Arya running out after the "blue eyes" meme was SUBTLE?
I agree with everything they said, except for the fact that IT SHOULD'VE BEEN JAIME
holy shit that was garbage ending
The whole time I was praying that maybe it is red hearing and she will kill muh dragon queen instead. But then again, she is probably going to kill everyone anyway.
heh
The fuck does dungeons and dragons have to do with anything?
>Night King doesn't wear any protection around his only vulnerable spot
Nightking is the Snoke of Game of Thrones. Thanks Dabit!
Where is the other dragon? We barely saw him crashlanding and that's all. Is it alive?
This was definitely my favourite part of the episode.
>tfw fat fuck GRRM will never finish the books and die of his heart giving out
>this will be the only ending we'll have of the WW / Others
WHY THE FUCK IS GHOST SO SMALL AND USELESS WHAT HAVE D&D DONE TO HIM?
That's really it, isn't it? All the lore, all the buildup, all the prophecies, meaningless, just another battle as an excuse to wipe out the enigmatic ancient evil, army of the dead, Dothraki, and Unsullied that they otherwise had no idea how to get rid of before Cersei and 10,000 mercenaries became the final battle. Let's not kid ourselves, the books won't be any better. The issue plaguing the series since the show ran out of books is that GRRM is a "gardener" writer (in his own words), but the soil isn't fertile. The latest book was delayed for years because he had no idea how to untie he made of what he wrote. It's only going to get worse.
* kills /got/ in one hit KO
If I was GRRM I would only write on last book with Stannis beating Ramsay in the North and end it right there.
Dragons. Dragons are expensive. No money for big wolves left.
Ghost is like his master: A wolflet.
They literally just copied this scene from Far Cry 3?
Night King isn't even in the books.
lma0
I kept screaming but God wont answer
GRRM will finish up to the part in the next book where stannis beats ramsay, he dies. This is how the books end
hmm
Yeah I thought they meant blue eyes.
Because I was suprised when I heared her say jew eyes. IAnd I was really unsure where things were going when arya smirked and left off.
At this point, the only way to protect his legacy as a creator is to finish one more book with a parting shot like that which firmly establishes that the show is absolutely not what he had in mind. Go to your grave with the vaguery that anything wrong with the show you totally weren't gonna do, but never actually deliver on anything better. That's the only winning move.
>WE CAN'T LIGHT THE TRENCH SHE CAN'T HEAR US WHAT WILL WE DO?
>Jon is 50 meters away jacking off on the dragon
Bruh...
Lie to yourselves but not to us.
No one is going to kill the hero of the show moron
WTF is Queen Yara doing?!
I thought Greyworm was gonna go full on uruk-hai and light the trench himself.
what a shame
Classic scene. The gunshot right before was profound.
Bran was watching Sansa get raped one more time before the Night King came, just in case he died.
Is why he was warged during the whole fight, he was having a ghost fap
HAVE SEX
So let me get this straight, Arya kills the NK and then his whole army dies like he's a video game boss?
So. Did any of the leaks actually predict this?
this but unironically
reposting from old thread
How about this as an ending to the episode:
>wights have trouble making it past the barrier of fire as they should, can't pass through until the WWs come and do some bullshit magic with the night king
>in the meantime while they wait Dany + jon burn the shit out of the army, significantly reducing its size
>eventually the WWs and the wights destroy the fire barrier and start pouring in to winterfell
>NK flies dragon over the walls and starts shredding the living army
>both armies relatively decimated, but still a significant number of wights and some WWs left, who accompany the NK as he walks towards the godswood - Jon, Edd, minor character (Pod, Sam, who cares) follow him to try to defeat him
>arya sneaks around and uses her blowdart dragonglass shit to target WWs - previous episodes show that the wights under a WWs command die when the WW dies, thus arya significantly reduces the NKs protection until it's almost nothing
>Jon, Edd, theon 3v1 the NK but the NK can keep up with him, he kills Edd and is preparing to kill Jon when theon saves him by sacrificing himself
>Jon is desperate to protect bran but is losing ground
>arya drops out of the weirwood tree, distracting the NK as jon runs him through with longclaw
maybe this is retarded but i think it would have been better
>Arya kills the NK and then his whole army dies like he's a video game boss?
You blow up the droid commend ship and they deactivate
God never remind me of S5 ever again.
yep
hardhome = blackwater > watchers on the wall = your people cant fight > battle of the bastards > frozen lake > the """long""" night
That's pretty normal for High Fantasy unded factions/types. Undead need a necromancer/summoner to maintain the bind to the world
BRAN LOOK hehe
I'M ON A DRAGON hehe
So winter is over in westeros?
>GRRM Dies right after seeing this episode
>In his will he dictates that the show ending is the series cannon ending
it's all shite
So now Cersei it's the final thread. Why no send Arya to kill her like a faceless men like she did with the Frey House?
>send Arya to kill Cersei
>she kills her
>the contract with the GC it's now broken because she it's dead
>another meme battle against Euron who his only army now it's his tripulation
>Drogon and Rhaegal burnt them
>Greyworm or another meme character dies
>The end
That it's. It's simple. Even Arya alone could kill Euron now with his ninja skills. Jon Snow? Meh, he it's another meme secondary character now like Tyrion.
I have an absolutely incredible TV, no glare or color level problems, and was watching the actual cable broadcast. The apologists saying it looked fine can go fuck themselves. Poorly-lit scenes and an absolutely atrocious broadcast bitrate that would make AMC blush are a horrible combination. There was nothing to see for a lot of the scenes outside the walls before there was any fire. TV brightness and turning off all the lights in your house won't fix a pitch-black abyss stricken with compression banding. It just goes to show how fucking dumb the average person is, they're purposefully ignorant because any sort of criticism of their favorite media feels like an attack on their identity.
Not my screenshot, but you get the picture. Thousands of people complained about it, journalists tweeted about it, there are articles about it, IT WAS A FUCKING PROBLEM.
I am interested in this too, I read only a few, but none of them predicted it to be this shit
BRAN PICS UP THE ICE CROWN
THERE MUST ALWAYS BE A NIGHT KING
not gonna lie i got massively triggered
Am i the only one who thinks edd went out like a bitch
What the fuck were those last words FUCK
The normies are loving it
Sorry tvcels AHAHAHAH
Qarth, the Greatest City that Ever Was or Will Be
/got/
The real subverted expectations ending would have been Arya killing the NK, and none of the other WW/Undead dying and them having to come up with another solution
literally a better ending than what we got
I cant get over how they decided to throw all lore, themes and arcs out the window because they decided 3 years ago it would be cooooool if Arya killed the NK
What's worse is they then scrambled through their own writing to justify it and decided on "omg remember when Mel said she would close blue eyes ages ago omg what an Easter egg".
I'm not fucking buying it
>and none of the other WW/Undead dying and them having to come up with another solution
Absolutely based
Was it dare I say it kino?
I refuse to believe this is real. They're just acting in front of the camera to bait for views
Imagine they had done this only for another White Walker to morph into the Night King.
What's that?
Don't Stop Believin
>"Themes are for eighth-grade book reports”
- David Benioff
Look it up, he actually said it.
*teleports behind you*
GIVE US A CHEEKY SHAG LUV DON'T BE SHY
>on his death, the Night King warged into Bran
>the bittersweet ending is actually the starks (+jon) having to kill bran in order to remove the threat completely
would it redeem at least some of it?
JUST
JON WILL KILL DANY
ARYA WILL KILL CERSEI
Too late
>IGN spends its whole review pointing out all the flaws of the episode
>still gives it 9.5/10
So this is the power of Jewish money...
>would it redeem at least some of it?
Kinda, but that episode was shitty as fuck
and bran is already a robot.
Jokes aside
Why were they so rushed to wrap the entire long night in one episode
Why not have 1 season for the long night and another season to wrap up kings landing
Show is profitable as hell why were they in such a rush to end it
Clearly you're not an intellectual if you don't understand the complex subversion going on in this epic finale. Who needs build up, character growth, and thematic relevance when you do the thing that makes the least sense? YOU'VE BEEN SUBVERTED
someone posted the reddit thread from a leaker who predicted everything in this episode. Leaker's brother worked on the set.
he also said Jon kills Dany
Yes. All the death scenes were pretty good if taken out of context, but hers was the most kino.
Reminder that Lord Baelish saved Westeros.
> hires assassin and arms him with Valyrian steel dagger to sow discord between the Lannister and Stark families, and so that the Starks get familiar with a Valyrian steel dagger
> makes sure Ned will be punished, precipitating the war of the 5 kings and swaying Arya away from her sheltered life
> is perfectly aware of the fact that Arya is the only hope against the white walkers, so he doesn't betray her to Tywin
> orchestrates Joffrey's murder to end all political quarrels in Kings Landing so that the Crown can focus on greater scope problems
> trains Sansa in the game of thrones, making sure that the North will have a ruler when the white walkers come
> saves the day in the BotB, leaving Winterfell safe for the North and the Night's Watch
> gives the dagger to cripple Bran knowing full well that he's giving it to Arya, with Sansa even mentioning that he always has ulterior motives
>anticlimatic
>poor payoff
>9.5
what bizarre reality are we in
If there was still hope to salvage this mess they killed it this episode. Not only that, they shit and pissed on it while giving the audience the finger.
Now, I don't even know what would need to happen in the last 3 episodes for this series to be at least decent. It's over, they FUCKED UP.
IGN has been a joke for years
Their reviews are trash and the whole press industry know it, even the normies
Old white man wanting to murder strong woman but woman decides to die on her own terms, blowing the white man out.
Nothing can redeem how shitty this episode was. Only if the next 3 episodes are the best tv episodes of all time
Because they're completely out of George's source material, and the longer they wait to end the show, the more obvious it will be that it has turned to shit
Source, please.
>Tyrion and Sansa ruling the North
>Dany and Jon ruling the South
>Goblina delivers Baratheon's baby
>Bran continues to watch TV
That's it?
WHEN DO THEY GET TO THE FIREWORKS FACTORY?
validate me you faggots
Dacawys!
Stolen from Dark Souls 3 Ringed City DLC. Pathetic.
>takes a moment to let her tits out one last time
Based Mel
Didn't watch the episode yet. Is the episode that dark or just a bad webm? I can't see shit.
Literally it would have been a better ending if Littlefinger just came and killed NK
The actresses and actors should've unified and went on strike until a proper script and budget was delivered or HBO would tank into the ground with the public furious in not getting what they want.
I cannot actually FUCKING believe that HBO pulled a LOST on this series. I expected as such with the mess they did to True Blood, but holy fuck.
The reason the show became big was word of mouth and how fucking GOOD Season 1 was.
For them to constantly miss the point every second after 3 pisses me off. The reason the show stayed popular was for exactly this episode. That it may all just turn cool in the end. That all this shit was leading somewhere clever.
Nope. It's just shit.
>The Wire ruined by it's final season
>True Blood ruined by it's final seasons
>Game of Thrones ruined by it's final seasons
and many, many more. HBO has a track record now of killing golden gooses. They're the premature ejaculators of TV shows. Absolutely no vision or consistency, just put the least amount of effort in when it's doing it's best commercially
They could've really made this show a special thing for the ages, a modern Star Trek that lives on. Nope, now it's going into the dumpster to share the same fate as LOST and others. Dizzying highs that are completely made nutless by the abysmal crushing low finishing touches.
>Winters suppose to last years
>lasts a night
IGN is infamous for this. there are memes on Yea Forums about it as they do it with vidya games all the time
I've read those leaks and seen the thread, that leaker has zero credibility. They waffled back and forth on Jon killing Cersei or Dany throughout their post and the comments. It was clearly bait
>posted 4 months ago
I was dark, I had to put up my TV brightness almost all the way up to see shit
Have you not watched the show so far?
How do we stop her from taking over Westeros?
>NK is finally killed
>another of the WWs slowly steps forward from the group
could work
>Is the episode that dark
It really is.
The actor contracts and salaries meant they couldn't do another season. It's another Breaking Bad situation except instead of making a season with as many episodes as contracts would allow to avoid per-season salaries and then splitting the season in 2, Thrones made a season with as few episodes as contracts would allow and extended them to avoid per-episode salaries.
Only one I bothered to screencap was this guy, who is clearly a lying fag
The reveal should have been bran was working with the NK all along and the episode ends cut to black.
It would he like how Dr Manhattan becomes apathetic towards humanity because hes seen the sheer scale of the universe.
Bran has seen everything that has ever happened and what is to come. He becomes apathetic towards humanity explaining his robot personality. He becomes sympathetic with the Children of the Forests' reasoning and instead of actually turning to the good guys in the end, Bran decided the children of the forest, and the knight king is right
Yes this would’ve been based
>Davos
>Jaime
>Qyburn
>Cersei (sometimes)
Three and a half good actors left, yikes.
Why do they never kill off the bad ones?
>zero credibility
Cope. He predicted everything in this episode. Cope. Cope. COPE, bitch.
half the episode is barely visible, it isn't a meme. the lighting is terrible.
I CANT SEE SHIT
ITS FUCKING TWO IN THE AFTERNOON
THE ENTIRE SCREEN IS GODDAMN BLACK
WHO THOUGHT THIS WAS A GOOD FUCKING IDEA
>Jon doesn't 1 v 1 the fucking dragon and cuts right underneath his belly.
Give us something goddamnit.
Fuck me nothing happened again in this episode.
Chance of a Brienne Jamie romance now? I say 35%
youtube.com
>This battle is overrated. it's boring since there's no main character dies. Battle of winterfell should be a lot better than this.
They should just change a NK's death animation and scene
Make sure you are watching in a room that is absolutely pitch black, it’s impossible to see anything for large portions of the episode.
If you have any glare on your screen you will see nothing
STANNIS STANNIS STANNIS STANNIS STANNIS STANNIS STANNIS STANNIS STANNIS STANNIS STANNIS STANNIS STANNIS STANNIS STANNIS STANNIS STANNIS STANNIS STANNIS STANNIS STANNIS STANNIS STANNIS STANNIS STANNIS STANNIS STANNIS STANNIS STANNIS STANNIS STANNIS STANNIS STANNIS STANNIS STANNIS STANNIS STANNIS STANNIS STANNIS STANNIS STANNIS STANNIS STANNIS STANNIS STANNIS STANNIS STANNIS STANNIS STANNIS STANNIS STANNIS STANNIS
lol this, holding back the zombie horde, sacrificing himself as the others run ahead, cut to next scene and he's right behind arya and the hound coming through the door.
you have to go back
>Sam falls on the ground like a bitch several times, somehow survives
>Brienne swarmed by the zerg several times, somehow survives every time
>Implying Dabid or Martin would kill of their female lead
Have sex
this is utter shit both GRRM and HBO wanted the show to go on a few more seasons. it was D&D that refused to continue.
>Dany known to his brother only as “the one I hate”
kek
>go on reddit
>they all love it, saying shit like “I was literally screaming!”
>someone mentions the lord of light influencing this outcome
>downvoted for suggesting a god might be real even in a fictional world
What the fuck? Are they all like this?
>le go back maymay
sorry if reddit gets it right more often than you guys
I got literal Hysterical Blindness from this shit. That's how mad I got. That's the same shit Hitler got when he learned Germany lost World War I and literally went blind with hate.
THE CRAYONS!
I hope Cersei wins.
hehe funny Yea Forums meme
>Jon kills Dany
maybe they can redeem this
>wasting your time with GOT
>reddit.com
all 100% accurate
>Arya's whole strategy relied on the NK having a convenient gap in his armor at just the right spot
Didn't Arya gave the valyrian dagger to Sansa?
Get subverted lmao
That was a long scene.
NPCs don't exi-
>someone mentions the lord of light influencing this outcome
You mean the Seven you fucking heretic
Type dccw into your windows search bar and turn up the gamma.
-st.
Alright you niggers I'm only going to say this once. Cersei loses the fight against the Targaryen's in KL, Drogon dies from an armor piercing balista and chains, Dany loses her mind, Jon/Aegon kills Danny to save Sansa, Cersei is executed, Sansa marries Tyrion and I don't want to spoil that last piece because it's a huge blindside.
no
that happened when shitler learnt he can't paint as good as shlomo goldberg so he decided to kill him instead, and take his property for himself
Oh shit hahahahahaa
Who the fuck even cares anymore?
no she gave sansa the daggers that she later makes a suicide pact with
dont blame you for not noticing the black weapons in a pitch-black episode though
>Hates /OURDRAGON/ The Dragon Demands
>Gave episode 3 a 9/10
>Control's Preston Jacobs
Is Red Team Review the final boss of thrones?
The long night was initiated by the children of the forest to kill humans. It failed. It was not led by the night king, it was led by the three eyed raven.
The night king was created by the children as their new weapon to kill humans, but they couldn't control him. He dedicated his existence to killing the three eyed raven to save humankind. Notice how he only tries to cross the wall and invade after the Raven now houses in Bran retreats behind it. Notice how he attacks Winterfel when he could have just ignored it entirely.
Bran/the three eyed raven is the great other and he has a plan to kill off the remaining humans of westeros. Bran was manipulated by him because he needed a new vessel. The night king tried and failed to stop him at Winterfel. Arya is not the prince who was promised, that title belongs to whoever ends up killing Bran/the raven.
R'hllor is the three eyed raven masquerading as a god. He used Melly in his plan to stop the night king so that he could finish his own plan of destroying humankind and westeros.
Screencap this.
What would have been worse?
strawpoll.me
what would you have done if it was stannis jumping on night king instead of arya?
A DOTHRAKI HORDE
ON AN OPEN FIELD
Oh guess they get slaughtered in 20 seconds
Do you remember early seasons based on books? We trashed them for OC material, boobs, for simplification of characters, small scale and cut plot lines limited to budget and medium but damn some OC and memes were good.
>2014
>FOOKIN LEGEND
>LADDAH
We didn't appreciate what we had
You truly have to be a special kind of contrarian or mentally ill to call this episode bad.
That opener with the Dothraki, the soundtrack, the constant tension, the unrivaled special effects and props, the dragon fights and those shots above with the moon, literally unprecedented, in any form of media.
It's like attacking the PS4 on a Sony thread. Of course the normies are gonna defend it like they have shares with Sony
Someone please post Dany's reaction to the ending. How she walks around London for 3 hours.
FORTY THOUSAND DOTHRAKI SCREAMERS

yes, reddit sucks unilaterally. a forum of ice and fire used to be the best place to talk about it but now everyone who still posts there has been driven psychotic by the lack of new books
Girl power
So fucking BASED! I love posting this and jerking off as I see how angry you all are!
Lotr was kino but then Hobbit gone to shit
GoT until season 5 was kino but then gone to shit
and it all instantly went to shit with the ending
>when the episode was shit but the review already was paid for
>HIGH PRODUCTION VALUE
>GOOD
Wait, fuck yes she did
She handed it to her because she was intent on using her new spear weapon
holy FUCK WOW
>mfw d&d actually listened to our shitposts and jokes about arya teleporting behind the night king, but they took it seriously and decided to make it canon
Actually...
What was he thinking during this?
This would’ve been great
no she didnt
You just have shit taste, actually. Stay mad. Maybe go to reddit, twitter, or facebook if you can't stand the truth and want to be around other mindless drones like yourself.
No one is saying it doesnt look good, but that the writing is inept and silly.
>Didn't Arya gave the valyrian dagger to Sansa?
aHH the twist is it was SANSA who killed the Night King
he's a faggot that gets on like a teenage girl watching game of thrones. watch the podcast they do. "i really felt sorry for Dany she's gone through a lot"
It was a turd you step on in the middle of the night.
Is there a TV show character stronger than Arya Uchiha?
Keep in mind, I'm talking about Faceless Man Arya Uchiha with the Blood of The First Men, the Greensight, a perfect Valyrian Steel blade and the ability to move silently and change her face at will.
STANNIS STANNIS STANNIS STANNIS STANNIS STANNIS STANNIS STANNIS STANNIS STANNIS STANNIS STANNIS STANNIS STANNIS STANNIS STANNIS STANNIS STANNIS STANNIS STANNIS STANNIS STANNIS STANNIS STANNIS STANNIS STANNIS STANNIS STANNIS STANNIS STANNIS STANNIS STANNIS STANNIS STANNIS STANNIS STANNIS STANNIS STANNIS STANNIS STANNIS STANNIS STANNIS STANNIS STANNIS STANNIS STANNIS STANNIS STANNIS STANNIS STANNIS STANNIS STANNIS STANNIS STANNIS STANNIS STANNIS STANNIS STANNIS STANNIS STANNIS STANNIS STANNIS STANNIS STANNIS STANNIS STANNIS STANNIS STANNIS STANNIS STANNIS STANNIS STANNIS STANNIS STANNIS STANNIS STANNIS STANNIS STANNIS STANNIS STANNIS STANNIS STANNIS STANNIS STANNIS STANNIS STANNIS STANNIS STANNIS STANNIS STANNIS STANNIS STANNIS STANNIS STANNIS STANNIS STANNIS STANNIS STANNIS STANNIS STANNIS STANNIS STANNIS STANNIS STANNIS STANNIS STANNIS STANNIS STANNIS STANNIS STANNIS STANNIS STANNIS STANNIS STANNIS STANNIS STANNIS STANNIS STANNIS STANNIS STANNIS STANNIS STANNIS STANNIS STANNIS STANNIS STANNIS STANNIS STANNIS STANNIS STANNIS STANNIS STANNIS STANNIS STANNIS STANNIS STANNIS STANNIS STANNIS STANNIS STANNIS STANNIS STANNIS STANNIS STANNIS STANNIS STANNIS STANNIS STANNIS STANNIS STANNIS STANNIS STANNIS STANNIS STANNIS STANNIS STANNIS STANNIS STANNIS STANNIS STANNIS STANNIS STANNIS STANNIS STANNIS STANNIS STANNIS STANNIS STANNIS STANNIS STANNIS STANNIS STANNIS STANNIS STANNIS STANNIS STANNIS STANNIS STANNIS STANNIS STANNIS STANNIS STANNIS STANNIS STANNIS STANNIS STANNIS STANNIS STANNIS STANNIS STANNIS STANNIS STANNIS STANNIS STANNIS STANNIS STANNIS STANNIS STANNIS STANNIS STANNIS STANNIS STANNIS STANNIS STANNIS STANNIS STANNIS STANNIS STANNIS STANNIS STANNIS STANNIS STANNIS STANNIS STANNIS STANNIS STANNIS STANNIS STANNIS STANNIS STANNIS STANNIS STANNIS STANNIS STANNIS STANNIS STANNIS STANNIS STANNIS STANNIS STANNIS STANNIS STANNIS
ah yes, the incredible charge of the dothraki, who are light cavalry full of raiders and archers, who decided to charge into an invisible army without any vision, backup or strategy
what an unprecedented spectacle though
so uhh what did the NK want with Bran?
>Arya sneaks up behind D&D
>Nothing personell, hebes
*Internal monologue*
>.. .... ...'. .. ......... .'. ... ... .. ...... ....
AAAAAAHHHHHH SAVE ME
>They threw a lot of money at it, therefore it is good
Trying to figure out if that's a man or women
so did thormund die? didnt see him at all this episode?
because he never wears a hat
Dude just turn off your brain lmao
>my bastard boy Gendry impregnated stark girl as I proposed to that fool Ned
>not even 1 day old and my grandchild made the dothraki horde suicide, killed dragons and NK in one night with fat cheeks and double chin of Arya's shitty biocostume dragging him down
>GODS he will be strong when he gets out of womb
>gonna go hunt some stone men in valyria for fun, just like his grandad did with boars
>stupid forchannisters don't even see the connection and think it's some girl with water dancing training doing all of that
>mfw
Here, I fixed it for you. If Arya marysues everybody in remaining episodes, just know what's REALLY happening
Just because it looked cool doesn't mean it made any tactical sense
which is hard to ignore when the characters spent time figuring out a plan with experienced leaders and tacticians
I can live with goblin ahai, but suicide charging your entire cavalry force for no reason, unsported by infantry, and placing your artillery IN FRONT of your infantry to get immediately overrun is unforgivable.
But credit to D&D, normies don't care about such details. They lapped it right up.
This would 100% redeem episode 3, but I don't think based on the fucking smug american douches writing these episodes that its going to happen
I think were straight up getting jon on the iron throne and thats that
Get fucking HYPED for book stannis to wreck Ramsay's forces in the upcoming books
The episode would look great if the lighting wasn't so poor. You're wrong in every way. Most of the fight scenes were dull and uninspiring, followed the same type of progression every time, the soundtrack was trying way too hard in the second half, the dragon fights were a mess, and the writing was fanfiction tier.
So night King's purpose was to even the playing field between dany and cersei?
>We've known for three years
GRRM has known for 20 years. Why didn't you ask him, you fucking jews?
Arya killing the night king is quite possibly the worst ending I never expected
this and the dragons flying above the clouds were the only good scenes in this 1 and half hour episode
What if the real Azor Ahai was the friends Dany and Jon made along the way?
>jUsT tUrN uP yOuR bRiGhTneSs GuYs
/r/gameofthrones and /r/freefolk are turbonormies. /r/asoiaf is hightly critical of the episode, which is no surprise, as it's mostly (or was) book readers.
>Per Harington, the live read of that moment “got a huge f—king cheer,” while Williams dealt with self-doubt. “I immediately thought that everybody would hate it; that Arya doesn’t deserve it. The hardest thing is in any series is when you build up a villain that’s so impossible to defeat and then you defeat them. It has to be intelligently done because otherwise people are like, ‘Well, [the villain] couldn’t have been that bad when some 100-pound girl comes in and stabs him.’ You gotta make it cool. And then I told my boyfriend and he was like, ‘Mmm, should be Jon though really, shouldn’t it?’”
but then she took the subversionpill
>When we did the whole bit with Melisandre, I realized the whole scene with [the Red Woman] brings it back to everything I’ve been working for over these past 6 seasons — 4 if you think about it since [Arya] got to the House of Black and White,” Williams says. “It all comes down to this one very moment. It’s also unexpected and that’s what this show does. So then I was like, ‘F—k you Jon, I get it.’
the lighting is so fucked up that I had a really bad ache in my forehead an hour after. You really have to strain your eyes to see a lot of the episode
it's not like I havent seen plenty of film and tv where the scenes occur at nighttime so I can only say it was poorly done
Azor Ahai didn't exist.
And the worst outcome that could have ever happened
>m-mommy no mommy!

>The archers weren't used at all even though they were a tactical advantage
>The defensive bulwarks were designed by a retard

>Arya stabs the Knight King. No sword fight or anything, just stabs him as "this is my fightsong" plays in the background
>Cliches abound (how many times are they going to use the whole "saved in the nick of time" schtick)
lol my monitor has Adaptive Contrast Ratio so every scene was perfectly lit for me. Poor niggers BTFO.
Is there a TV show character stronger than Arya Uchiha?
Keep in mind, I'm talking about Faceless Man Arya Uchiha with the Blood of The First Men, the Greensight, a perfect Valyrian Steel blade and the ability to move silently and change her face at will.
>It was epic therefore it was good
I hate normies so goddamn much.
she reacted to it like a normal person at first but they forcefed her the "YAAAS QUEEN SLAAAY" pill and she was lost to us
I think Cersei probably dies too but otherwise this is ok
BIG MONEY EPISODE I CLAPPED
I CLAPPED WHEN I SAW THE FINANCIAL EXCESS
*CLAP CLAP CLAP*
WHAT A BEAUTIFUL WASTE OF MONEY
They sat down with George after season 5 to get the notes on how it ended, so I guess they did ask him.
>someone is about to die
>another character spawns literally next to them to save them
Do these people have GPS in their head or what?
Worst part about this is when after the credits, D&D said that "Jon killing the Night King" in a battle of kings felt wrong to them and that they knew "Arya was going to kill the Night King for 3 years now".
Epic. Simply epic.
>HELP SAVE ME HODOR
We need a nuclear war.
>>The unsullied are trained speatmen, but don't form a phalanx or even a halfway decent defensive formation
They aren't even move their spears
anons who read the leaks, what's your reason for not betting money on who dies? made a few hundred $ by just mindleslly punting on Lyanna and Melissandre after saw them die in the gif
IGN is known for writing reviews that are basically "Absolute unplayable trash that I wouldn't wish upon my worst enemy. 9/10"
The lighting was shit but by turning up the gamma you could see it properly.
Does anyone have audio webm of the Dothraki getting the fire and charging? That was the only part I liked.
>still so butthurt he even has an infographic
oh please
look at the perspective, look at the fucking windows in this one
his paintings are bland, boring and stupid - high school tier
like what the fuck is going on in the third one, the perspective is off and it's obvious
and if u think the other artists in ur infographic were unable to paint boring like shitler, you're wrong
>Is there a TV show character stronger than Arya Uchiha?
Cersei should just hand her the crown already and let her and Gendry rule.
Source?
Theon died for nothing!
Honestly right now I feel like wiping my brain of all memory of Game of Thrones, I am so pissed at how many things have gone wrong with the show. Fuck D&D.
The worst case of this is Jorah teleporting to Dany. We saw him run inside. And then suddenly he's all alone outside again next to Dany surrounded by a million zombies.
How can GRRM tell them how it'll end when he doesn't know himself?
some website
I liked him in early seasons but now wtf
They already talked about the NK is after Bran in ep2.
this episode truly was the last jedi of television
>liking the incredibly pointless cavalry charge into the fucking darkness
You need to play more Total War games, user.
winteriscoming.net
i just googled "i thought everybody would hate it" lol
lmao even a 15 year old girl would've written a better story.
Le Michael Bay Connoisseur
First good episode in a long time, like maybe the first good episode in 3 seasons.
Arya dabbing on all the haters was especially satisfying. lady mormonts moment was also great.
A little annoyed by how dany let all those wights climb on her, also I didn't think it was certain that jons dragonw as already dead, but meh.
I had low expectations but holly shit I wasn't expect the episode to be that trashy
thank you for this post your grace
>This can't be happening, I'm in charge here.
>'Member when Hodor kept on saying Hodor? Now get this, turns out he was saying Hold the Door all this time!
>We were foreshadowing it all the way from season 1!
How is subversion meme still alive? If movie was made shit on purpose, it's still a shit movie.
fuck that would've been based
They're nice landscapes, but that's about it The two on the left are honestly neither good or interesting.
The one below him has a mixture of good technical and stylistic skills. The faces are expressive.
I don't care about logic anymore. This show killed logic countless episodes ago. I liked the spectacle of it though.
im not talking about Arya in this case, that is a whole other level of bullshit
>this episode truly was the last jedi of television
Dnd are writing a new star wars films so it's like pottery
best post in the realm
Sure, and all the positive comments towards their shit taste are bots.
based false prophecy who could have seen it. Bravo!
Just concepts.
He wanted the boipucci
GoT started getting bad right before the Red Wedding when they shitted on Robb's character.
So they really chose who was going to kill the night king? I thought at least Martin knew that.
>wolflet
No, it looked like the valyrian dagger. She even picks it from her hip.
The lighting was fucking awful, there were a lot of scenes that were an incoherent mess due to shitty use of camera angles and the director having no idea what he was doing. It wasn’t good, I’ll give you there were moments of good shots and such, but overall it wasn’t good.
>Some of our favorite characters fall along the way
>Comic relief nights watch dude
>Mormont loli
>Mormont cuck who got saved last season so he could die this season, wow so subversive
>Beric who no one gives a shit about
Truly a great loss
>That opener with the Dothraki
yeah let's waste our largest fighting force making up over 80% of our troops because it looks cool on a 4K screen
what the fuck is going on with that barn
it's kid tier, it's an absolute turd of a painting
any of his paintings that don't look like turds are from a very very long distance where you can avoid detail
Why do americans do this?
This is better than what we got. Still shit but better.
Well they didn't specify if the fat man told them that it was Arya that was gonna kill the NK, but I don't think it's that unimaginable that at this point, they just made that shit up by themselves.
What happened to Bronze Yohn Royce?
>NK hyped up to be the biggest threat in westeros
>Jon was setup to fight him in the end
>All those symbols he created also built up to be a mystery
>Arya just teleports and oneshots him
What were they thinking?
shieeeeet, did main villain ever get JUSTED this hard?
how about the part where arya killing sprees 20 undead but is now afraid of 8 in a library
WHO IS SMOKING THIS SHIT
okay how would you rate the episode as it stands
and how would you rate it if it were exactly the same but littlefinger came flying out of the dark instead of arya
Red pilled and based D&D destroying shitty fantasy bullshit
GROW UP
There is no Night King in the books. Night King was some Stark king that married a wight or something hundreds of years ago.
>SAVE ME SEASON ONE MINOR CHARACTER MIRRIR MAZ DUUR! SAVE ME!
>> Probably the greatest general still alive in Westeros (Jaimie)
You're aware this is not true right? Jaime is an average general at best, it's how he was captured during the battle of the whispering woods. If anybody would hold that title it'd be Jon who has proven himself more capable at defensive siege tactics.
All the rest I fully agree, I'd add the absolute dumbfuck way they deployed their cavalry
Man I just wanna see a quality RPG of the cray dark shit in east Essos. Gimmie some big Chinese empire
>okay how would you rate the episode as it stands
-10,000,00,00000
youtube.com
IT JUST DIDN'T SEEM RIGHT AT THE MOMENT
t. D&D
There's literally no pleasing you contrarian faggots ever
>get slow episode with dialogue and plot
>dude nothing happens
>get the absolute pinnacle of action and special effects
>but muh dialogue and plot
Well he didn't go to art school.
>The one below him has a mixture of good technical and stylistic skills. The faces are expressive.
But there is no expression of anything
you can see the blade is dull and jagged
>>Arya just teleports and oneshots him
I also think that the Night King should have a health bar while a party of warriors whittle him down with minor cuts for half an hour.
red woman as healer
I turned the episode off a few seconds after Arya kills the night king. Anything happen after that? Also, why are D&D so monumentally incompetent?
>Gimmie some big Chinese empire
I want some Mongols ruling it. Give me westerosi Ghanis Khan
she didn't have her epic weapon
>you can see
I can't see shit
>Anything happen after that?
Mill just dies for no reason. Really fucking stupid
ROASTIE BAR IS OUT
Arya being the one to kill the NK was shit yeah, but I think the callback to Mel saying she'll shut blue eyes was pretty good desu
If you can't understand how shit of an ending this was then I genuinely pity you. You must have the memory of a fucking goldfish LMAO.
Literally nothing apart from Jorah collapsing and dying to his wounds. That's it.
she got tired you fucking idiot its not a video game
>have catapults
>fire them once into your own cavalry charge and then pull them back
>be fighting at night, can't see shit
>have time to prepare
>don't even bother setting out torches so your men don't have to fight in pitch black
>don't even bother setting out ranging markers for your archers so they can fire at max range instead of 25m out from the castle walls
>rush enemy commander with your dragons
>get blinded by a snow storm
>spin around in circles for 45 minutes instead of just 180°ing back the way you came
Melisandre wanders off onto the horizon, takes off her amulet, and withers in the sunrise. That's about it.
>thumbnail
I can't, I can't lick it
was tormund even in the episode?
How are they going to defeat the queen when they have no army left?
I don't know if you are baiting but the problem in both cases was the writing, not how much/little action scenes the episodes had.
TURN
YOUR
BRAIN
OFF
yeah he was in most of the "main character kills a dozen wights while screaming" shots
He was but difficult to see due to the fucking horrible lighting
>its not a video game
were we watching the same episode?
He may be an average general, but he's the only person alive who's commanded a conventional army. Jon did it once in the battle of the bastards and managed to fuck it up.
why did they charge in the dothraki like that?
Discuss episode with normies they all loved it and said it was amazing. Are normies blinded from bad writing if there is lots of action and fan service.
there is no night king in the books. d&d target such a stupid audience that the evil needs to have tangible bad guys who make scary faces and they appear when scary music appears
Aaargh SAVE ME LORD OF LIGHT
Bros I just watched the episode... Somebody hold me I don't feel so good
you forgot
>theon and few archers without cover held off waves of wights in a forest
>no helmets
>NK doesn't just hide and send his white walker goons
i'm gonna say it
the battle for kingslanding will play out like this
danaerys forces charges into the city levels with little resistance only to find it evacuated
cersei and euron looks on as wildfire caches go off fucking upp her entire army
she attacks the keep with her dragons
one dragon gets btfo and the red keep gets burned down
cersei and euron escaped and sails north with the golden company
danaerys fucks back north
cerseis forces ravage the north and traps the remaining northmen at the wall were danaerys and drogon will die
Nice trips. Would've been a better ending.
there it's fixed
They suddenly remembered she is suppose to be a stealth assassin, not a fucking fighter.
These people only go there to be in the video right?
Haven't you seen EP04s trailer? Apparently the Unsullied can just multiply despite having no dicks and basically all of them dying in the battle.
Also DRAGONS.
The long night was better than the frozen lake.
>Aaargh SAVE ME LORD OF LIGHT
Fucking based
Faith of Sevens will remain forever
Could've fucking fooled me when Arya stealth checked through a literal fucking horde of undead and every single white walker in 0.3 seconds
Daily reminder that this is all Crasters fault.
And Jeor Mormont for turning a blind eye.
Kek
if you genuinely don't get why it was bad then you don't have the IQ for a driving licence
>jon is a good general
>gets provoked and charges the enemy on his own
Yes.
Cavalry isn't supposed to be stationary.
Fucking Craster and the Night King (book version)
I'd legitimately enjoy this
Isn’t the point of going to art school to get better at art?
This will go down as the biggest blunder in TV history.
All these years just for a magic teleport and stab.
WHY THE FUCK DID THEY DO THIS TO JAIMIE? EVERYTHING WAS BUILDING UP FOR HIM TO SAVE THE DAY!
Didn't Ramsay cut his fucking fingers off? How does he fire the bow?
>it's how he was captured during the battle of the whispering woods
He was captured but he was literally an inch away from killing Robb. Maybe worth the risk, maybe not, but he almost got him.
They don't think about it, fire dead dragon girl boom wow.
Doctor Night King.
I'm CIA
Unironically better than the shit D&D spew out.
they can literally be used for flanking very easily though, since the dead didn't have archers
instead they just chaged headfirst into infantry
such a waste
u never played total war games?
>implying it isn't and won't be rated as 8+/10
>see
lol?
Everything "epic" start falls apart if you trying to analyze battle. It's like army was commanded by retard.
This is the fan base that is being pandered to, and the reason GOT is cancer. They're also all really fucking gross looking.
I feels like this season has hardly anything to do with all the other GoT seasons.
It feels like what the show would turn out to be if it were to be suddenly written by a 8 yo.
>have a FLYING dragon
>land in a field full of zombies
WHAT COULD POSSIBLY GO WRONG
>have a castle
>don't build huge moats
No point in theorising no more till the fat fuck writes next book.
>never
Yeah, well cavalry isn't supposed to charge into a massive amount of unknown foes either.
tactic was to make night king ressurect them and use his power so he would be weakened during the crucial moment
> Le master tactician
yeah the valyrian steel dagger is also significantly larger than this, it's pretty big
oh fuck. yeah
>It's like army was commanded by retard.
We need to get a medieval historian to go over why it was fucking fucktarded to even have an army OUTSIDE OF THE CASTLE in the first place.
same fucking shit
Stupid as it may sound the best general would've been Bran. He holds all the knowledge ever witnessed by the three eyed raven (including that of Brynden Rivers) and though warging has both an overview of the battlefield as well as the means to relay commands nearly instantly.
Seems like a smart boyfriend
I'll give you a few minutes to think about it
One of the few things that really triggered me this episode.
Like fuck they only got enough time to climb because they wanted shots of dany and jon looking at eachother.
Which is weird because I thought Winterfell in the books had a giant and deep fucking moat.
Tyrion was probably right. He should've been out there.
Who is more disappointing, Snoke or Night King?
molesting robin arryn
Anyone who played a Total War game for 10 hours and watched 3 Skallagrim videos would have come up with a btetter plan.
yes there is a night king in the books you fucking retard
HOLY SHIT YES
I TOTALLY FORGOT ABOUT THE ARTILLERY BEING PLACED STRAIGHT IN FRONT OF LITERALLY EVERYTHING AFTER THE CAVALRY GOT MAULED IN A POINTLESS CHARGE.
>that window
Hitler was a retard
9.7 on imdb.
I know it's tired but this is making me lose faith in humanity. Nearly every aspect of this episode was fucking terrible but people are lapping it up. Literal shit eaters
THREAD STRETCHER NOW
DABIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIID EXPLAIN THIS
>Total War: Winterfell
kino
NK was initially fine, because he's acted like a smug bastard every time he pops up in front of humans
But then they gave him no reason for him to personally search and kill Bran
With what the show has now presented, there was no point in making Bran NK's kill priority
>Tyrion and Sansa were gonna kill themselves
>Dnd pussy out
Night King wasn't disappointing though
Can someone make a webm of the night king falling off the dragon but put glasses and a doobie over him as he falls into the darkness
Thanos
LACEL FETCH ME THE THREADS STRETCHER
he's a tree robot though for reasons even though brynden wasn't really
he would've been an excellent commander for the reasons you say though
The way he looked during the fall. It was so funny.
Did I miss anyone or are the only actual characters that died Jorah and Theon?
BAKE A NEW BREAD BEFORE I PISS MYSELF
Mass hysteria.
I'm almost certain this is an HDR problem.
Most of us don't have HDR screens so black looks fucking terrible with banding and artifacts and shit.
Will have to download an HDR copy of GoT + buy an HDR tv to check if that's right.
Rhaegal is alive
Rhaegal is alive.
...
Hopefor of house Agoodending
rhaegal alive
viserion dead
>Commander of the Dothraki
who?
>no Night King
I was expecting Dany to lose ONE MORE FUCKING DRAGON because of her stupidity twice during this episode. This and "let's see what NK with a spear can do against my flames haha".
>Lady Alys Karstark (probable)
Well her bones were first turned to mush along with her intestines then she got resurrected by the NK and was turned into dust. She pretty dead desu.
Yeah but the Dothraki don't have tactics and don't listen.
They literally only have the brainlet strat of running in, doing the "AIAIAIAIAIAIAIAI" and punching everything until it goes away. No one gave them the command to charge and you even see Jorah only charging after most of them were already running.
They were hyped up because of the glowing swords.
>With what the show has now presented, there was no point in making Bran NK's kill priority
Well the NK was after three eyed raven and Bran became the new one.
I guess maybe the show hasn't explained exactly why the NK was after the three eyed raven, but if you buy that part it makes sense he's after Bran.
...
>Ghost died offscreen
Your confusing her with the Mormont girl, Alys Karstark was with Theon in the godswood
Khal Jhogo or whatever the fuck his name was, the one who said your people can't fight
>le reddit poster
>and "let's see what NK with a spear can do against my flames haha".
At that point I was actually expecting the ice javelin to get thrown from inside the flames, before Dany got a chance to see that he was unscathed.
>Seven
Are they actually real? Do they ever do anything of note in the books? Cause R'hllor is definitely real and definitely doing actual stuff and his followers have real powers and visions. What do the Seven actually do?
He's in the preview for next episode
Except Jorah and Danny would have explained the tactic.
>no cavalry charges into an unknown with ALL of their men
>cavalry isn't even supposed to be the first line of defense
>why no funnel
Even if the Dothraki were just hyped up and were attempting a Hit and Run tactic, that wasn't indicated anywhere in the episode (or the one previous)

Anyone else feel like the scene where Beric died looked massively like a reshoot?
In the scene before he was stabbed multiple times and had like a dozen wights clawing at him, hes barely able to move and doesnt look like hes even trying to run anyone, hes making a heroic last stand. Then the next scene hes somehow limped away from all of them far enough to be able to come into the next room and close the door.
i knew i saw this before
You can have Ultron or Thanos, not both.
NK can't simultaneously hold a personal reason to prioritize Bran while also "just begin a force of evil meant to eradicate humanity with no deeper reason"
your right he should have gone to collage and got better... oh wait.
they ruined OZ too
>Dani
>Cersi
What the fuck are you talking about?
This but unironically.
>7 seasons building up wrath of the lich king
>last season
>just 6 episode
>first episode
>nothing happens
>second episode
>even less happens
>third episode
>no ice spiders
>no long night
>no azor ahai or regard for the others as a global phenomena
>"Hey, why don't we resolve 8 years of building up this epic zombie war in one episode? That way we can go back to arguing who gets the iron throne, cause we certainly haven't gotten enough of that!"
>remaining episodes will likely follow the now established formula
> 2 episodes of nothing
> followed by 1 that advances the plot
> 2 episodes of cersei wandering around the gardens, or riding muffbeard the pirate, or learning how to juggle
> 1 episode of clegane bowl
>"That's a good follow up to Armageddon right? Getting back to the same shit we've been doing for 8 years now! I mean, now that the world isn't ending, this stuff is actually important and interesting right?"
>probably gonna fuck up clegane bowl too
what are the chances that these dipshits are actually going to have a satisfying resolution to all this. Only way it happens is if the writers realize, "Wait a second, I can't write for shit!" And just have as little dialogue as possible between now and the finale, even then it'll probably be the most contrived ending imaginable, like Jon snow cedes throne to dragon loli, because he's a white male and westeros has had enough from his lot.
