Is there a TV show character stronger than Arya Uchiha?
Keep in mind I'm talking about Faceless Man Arya Uchiha with the Blood of The First Men, the Greensight, a Valyrian Steel Dagger and the ability to change her face at will.

Fucking DROPPED
I just fucking watched the episode.
So the fat fuck has been writing this series for three fucking decades at this point, and there was really no big twist, explanation or raison d'être for the Others and the Three Eyed Raven? It's literally just, one wants to kill everything and it's all over in one battle so Arya can have her GIRL POWER moment?!
I'm not even mad. I'm just fucking impressed by how terrible of an author GRRM actually is.
It's a fantasy tv show
GRRM here, dubs decide book Azor
D&D are COWARDS
>Whilst Jocelyn was making certain that all was in readiness for the supper, Dorcas helped the queen into her new gown. It had stripes of shiny green satin alternating with stripes of plush black velvet, and intricate black Myrish lace above the bodice. Myrish lace was costly, but it was necessary for a queen to look her best at all times, and her wretched washerwomen had shrunk several of her old gowns so they no longer fit. She would have whipped them for their carelessness, but Taena had urged her to be merciful. "The smallfolk will love you more if you are kind," she had said, so Cersei had ordered the value of the gowns deducted from the women's wages, a much more elegant solution.
Reminder that this is the final boss of ASOIAF
Nice try DABID. This one's on you.
What was Bran doing?
Why was Jon so useless?
Why did Dany land and keep her dragon surrounded by zombies and waited for them to hop on?
Why did the Long Night turn out to be a windy evening in Winterfell?
Why did no main character with importance to the overall story die?
Why do the writers hate us so much?
Except GRRM had nothing to do with this shit.

>grey worm/unsullied actually stand their ground and heroically sacrifice themselves to protect the retreat
>beric dies in the hallway holding back the zombies as much as possible
>lyanna actually dies the first time she's kicked by the giant
>no gay smirk from night king after surviving the fire
>no gay "dracarys"
>sansa and tyrion commit suicide together (really expected this and would've been one of the most beautiful moments in the entire series imo - ignoring the real world political undertones, one of them turned from an always victim, stupid teenager into a strong, overly confident queen of sorts, the other went from witty and confident lord to one who had been losing his touch for a while; in this final moment, these opposites don't matter at all, their history, status, dreams, anything - none of it matters, they feel the same raw, human, hopelessness; everything breaks down, and their last comfort is escaping together)
>no arya hide and seek
>melisandre's prayers don't work on the trench; she keeps praying while the zombies jump over the trench, but God is not listening any longer; the soldiers fight back as much as possible, but are overrun, along with melisandre

>no "the night king is coming"/"the dead are already here"; wtf was that

>it makes sense because Arya is a super assassin (as if that made sense in the first place by the way)
Why even bother writing a story at this point? Retards will gulp it down no matter what, you could just make still pictures with subtitles saying "le zombie king is standing", " swoosh! arya kills him lol", "the end" and they would applaud it
reminder the writers will be feted and praised for decades for their work in writing strong female characters and given millions upon millions to literally do nothing for the rest of their lives
OH NO NO NO
Pissed me off how Greyworm survived.
I liked how he looked to be conflicted between his Unsullied training of being fearless and between being emotional and scared and retreating.
He should have stood with the Unsullied and die protecting the retreat.
GRRM told D&D the fake ending to these books right? This is all part of his plan.

He told them everything, but Jew&Jew only listened to the parts Chad Summerchild would think is cool.
The showrunners and director of the episode and even Maisie Williams herself said it was gonna be Jon but they decided to go with Arya killing him instead to subvert expectations.
Of course the fat fuck will betray them

It doesn't make any thematic sense.
The writers followed GRRMs story only to intentionally go against all its themes and arcs and stories because they just decided 3 years ago it would be cool if it were Arya.

Much as I admire Tolkien, and I do admire Tolkien — he’s been a huge influence on me, and his Lord of the Rings is the mountain that leans over every other fantasy written since and shaped all of modern fantasy — there are things about it, the whole concept of the Dark Lord, and good guys battling bad guys, Good versus Evil, while brilliantly handled in Tolkien, in the hands of many Tolkien successors, it has become kind of a cartoon. We don’t need any more Dark Lords, we don’t need any more, ‘Here are the good guys, they’re in white, there are the bad guys, they’re in black. And also, they’re really ugly, the bad guys.
It is certainly a genuine, legitimate topic as the core of fantasy, but I think the battle between Good and Evil is waged within the individual human hearts. We all have good in us and we all have evil in us, and we may do a wonderful good act on Tuesday and a horrible, selfish, bad act on Wednesday, and to me, that’s the great human drama of fiction. I believe in gray characters, as I’ve said before. We all have good and evil in us and there are very few pure paragons and there are very few orcs. A villain is a hero of the other side, as someone said once, and I think there’s a great deal of truth to that, and that’s the interesting thing. In the case of war, that kind of situation, so I think some of that is definitely what I’m aiming at.
N + A = J
>In the Inside the Epiosde after S8E3, D&D make a point to say that they had known for 3 or so years that Arya was going to be the one to kill the Night King, and that they chose her and shot her scenes as a sort of misdirection. Everyone would expect Jon or someone heroic to do it, and that's why they chose Arya. This is implying that D&D had a lot of latitude in how this battle played out, and that the books could still take the ending in a much different direction; i.e., GRRM did not come up with this plot point.

These threads are moving too fast. Can we at least wait until 400 posts before making a new one?
LIKE A HOT KNIFE THROUGH ICE!! HYUCK HYUCK HYUCK HYUCK!!!!
The problem isn't Arya, the problem is there's literally nothing explained or having any purpose behind the Others and the Night King.
>The queen was taken aback. The last thing she expected was piety from a Kettleblack. "Are you refusing to obey me?"
>"No." Osney touched her golden hair. "The thing is, the best lies have some truth in 'em . . . to give 'em flavor, as it were. And you want me to go tell how I fucked a queen . . ."
>She almost slapped his face. Almost. But she had gone too far, and too much was at stake. All I do, I do for Tommen.
>"We waited long enough." He thrust his fingers inside the bodice of her gown and yanked, and the silk parted with a ripping sound so loud that Cersei was afraid that half of the Red Keep must have heard it. "Take off the rest before I tear that too," he said. "You can keep the crown on. I like you in the crown."

>I'm just fucking impressed by how terrible of an author GRRM actually is.
It's kind of obvious when you read ADWD. The fat fuck wrote himself into a corner with pointless digression and masturbatory minutiae where his storyline would take like 3 or 4 more books to unfuck and bring back towards a conclusion. It's why he hasn't written a single word in almost ten years, dealing with the clusterfuck he's created because he's a "gardener"(ie: hasn't planned anything and just wrote whatever went through his mind which is usually people taking diarrhea shits on the ground(which as much as I admire Tolkien I do quibble with him, he never asked the hard questions like where does Aragorn shit when he's travelling across Middle Earth and why don't we get an entire paragraph describing him taking a shit))
tl;dr GRRM is a hack
What's even happening next episodes just some kl fights?

Honestly I would have loved Jaime. But if I couldnt get him. Theon. It makes sense that he would become a hero saving the kid he once betrayed. He deserves a win anyway.

Be honest, could he have defeated the night king?
She was hiding in the tree.
I needed this, based Bobby B poster.
>The battle appears lost
>Everyone is nearly wiped out, people gather with Bran at the tree to make a last stand
>Hordes of undead march towards them
>They say their goodbyes
>A trumpet sounds
>A man with a banner for House Baratheon is seen
>"Greetings, I heard there was a king here. But there is only one true king of Westeros.
>Cavalry arrive over the hill, with one man in the center
>It's Stannis
>"A lot of would be kings are here this day. But you pretenders to the throne should know that it is mine by birthright, and I will not allow you to take what is mine: or harm my people."
>Stannis and his men charge
>The cavalry rout the undead on foot
>The Night King is about to revive the dead
>Stannis beheads him with Lightbringer, and speaks to the survivors
>"I have no dragons, but what I do have is a bloodline claim to the throne. You can die here, or fight with me and take that usurper Cersei down. You have one choice... bend the knee."
i don't dislike early arya and i don't dislike the actress, but post season four arya is a fucking travesty and she should have stayed in braavos, with only one scene after that: her showing up to slit walder frey's neck and disappearing after, never seen again

Hope they don't fuck that up as well
who send the assassin kill bran in the show? Since that whole business started the war maybe Bran should let people know, no?
not only is GRRM a hack, he is so enamored with his bullshit that he literally wrote himself into a corner and gave it a clever quippy name, the "Myrish Knot". imagine how far up your own ass you have to be to write a massive plothole and then have the balls to give it a pithy title, like it was fucking part of the design.
Yes he hates the show
Why didn't he go straight for Bran?
>scene with sansa and tyrion hiding
>women, old people and children being ripped apart by wights in the background
>they take out their knives and look at each other
>emotional music starts building
>think they're going to kill themselves because they realize all hope is lost
>actually get emotional for first time during episode
>it amounts to absolutely nothing

Not some random character that never even heard of the NK until 2 episodes ago
Everyone keeps saying she disguised herself as a wight or white walker but all I can see is her jumping from the tree
Why didn't Bran just get up and run away?
Talking about the losses and the dead from the battle, Cersei in King's Landing deciding how and where to attack (and probably fucking something up royally), and addressing Jon's newfound status openly.
Love
GRRM stopped helping with the show in Season 5. This is the decision of the showrunners. The Night King probably won’t even show up in the books.
Why? It would be salt in the wounds.
The show implied that it was LF. How he would accomplish this however, is completely unclear.
Arya will kill Mountain and Cersei. They're on her list

This is how I feel.

Why is he growing smaller and smaller?
WOW DUDE HOW DO THEY COME UP WITH THIS STUFF
Well not after this shitsjow he won't. If he ever decides to finish this shit he'll do well to write it as different from the show as possible.
>battle raging everywhere, brieanne sees jaime
>brieanne runs towards jaime, his back turn
>she calls out to him
>people dying left and right, can barely hear her
>as he turns she accidentally runs into his blade
>she falls to the ground and he stands over her as men surround them staving off wights
>soppy bs "I charge you to protect the memers"
>as he stands up he pulls the blade out and it ignites in flame
>the men see and get one last ray of hope and start fighting harder
>jaime turns to see the night's king walking through the torn gate
>AND WHOOO ARE YOUU

a friend asked me earlier if it's worth to get into GoT
and now i can give him a definite answer "don't watch anything after season 4, that's the end of the show"
The best explanation I've heard is that he flew to NK as a raven to summon him to him.
Doesn't make any sense at all but there's literally no justification for his actions so it's better than nothing.

Seriously though, why is it so fucking dark? Do they not have people in the production room to oversee this?
Omg so true
they have showed white walkers getting killed by valyrian steel before, and they have shown the night king walking through the fire guarding the 3ER's cave
I was hoping for
>Brienne gets mortally wounded
>Jaime has to mercy kill her
>Prophecy fulfilled, Azor Ahai
Bran himself gave their reason and purpose. To destroy mankind, cause an Endless Night and wipe all memory of the previous world. That's their purpose. That's why they were created.
At least as far as the show goes. The Others in the books are a different thing, more like aliens, different lifeforms that aren't related to humans.
It's been 8 seasons of building up the Night King and his army and at the end of the day it's a girl killing him with a tiny dagger with a slow kill move he even saw coming. Arya had no connection to the Night King or the White Walkers. It was the perfect moment to get her off her high horse for once seeing how she thinks she's the hottest shit around but instead they decided to make her kill the incarnation and embodiment of Death itself with a tiny dagger whose only special trait was being forged with dragonfire which we not even 5 minutes beforehand saw didn't work.
That's not possible.
White Walkers shatter into dust when they're killed. Nothing remains. Wights lose their blue eyes when they die and the Night King directly controls them so he would've noticed one of them moving. She didn't do anything but move stealthy.
That's actually as far as I've seen and now I don't intend to watch further. I consider it an open ended story about Tyrion.
Sneaking up to one person is different from sneaking by hundreds of undead and white walkers who surround the tree from every direction.
RRRRRRRAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA ME KING IN NORF
Cleganebowl will probably be shit, also it's reddit now.

And get this, Valyrian steel has magic qualities from being made with dragon fire.
> hires assassin and arms him with Valyrian steel dagger to sow discord between the Lannister and Stark families, and so that the Starks get familiar with a Valyrian steel dagger
> makes sure Ned will be punished, precipitating the war of the 5 kings and swaying Arya away from her sheltered life
> is perfectly aware of the fact that Arya is the only hope against the white walkers, so he doesn't betray her to Tywin
> orchestrates Joffrey's murder to end all political quarrels in Kings Landing so that the Crown can focus on greater scope problems
> trains Sansa in the game of thrones, making sure that the North will have a ruler when the white walkers come
> saves the day in the BotB, leaving Winterfell safe for the North and the Night's Watch
> gives the dagger to cripple Bran knowing full well that he's giving it to Arya, with Sansa even mentioning that he always has ulterior motives
Can we please appreciate the man who saved the world by himself?

Man the walls? Very well. I'll have the archers--

Yes he got butthurt they wouldn't cover DWD and a feast for crows for 2 seasons, yet he still won't finish the series after 20 some years.
I just got cancer
This really shoudl have been two episodes. It would have been neat to see the White Walkers actually going into the city during the majority of the fight. Having scenes where important, and some less important characters like that old knight/general from last season encountering the White Walkers and fighting, killing, or dying to them would have been badass.
Grey Worm felt like the only part of the episode done right, where you see him struggling against the horde of undead, retreating, running back into the fray exhausted, it was a nice little moment seeing him rush up the walls, clearly drained, slap on his helmet and go back to work. More moments like that that would have showed the physical toll of combat would have been good, as well as more moments similar to Beric cleaving his way through some undead. This felt needlessly compressed and compacted and ultimately cheapened for no reason.
kek

Feast for crows is great filler. ADVENTURES
Stannis is a literal autist. He is very rigid and duty bound and he is portrayed quite favorably in the books, as a man of honor and piety.
Also, he was Robert’s true heir
because he was one of the few uncucked characters who didn't feel like hamfisted pandering. No one on reddit, tumblr, or normies on twitter/fb liked him. And his actor was one of the best on the show.
Stannis deserved more.

If I knew how to make GIFs, I'd have the scene where Bran says, "I must go now" followed by a zoom in then flashback to Sansa's rape. Shit would be so cash.
Character deaths don't make something good. Being unrelenting and not letting them live just because of how well liked they are, if their death makes sense does.
Just killing characters for the sake of shock value is legitimately no different from swapping the person to kill the Night King out for someone else because it would "more of a shock".
It was truly a game of thrones.

Mels God was real because she was able to light the flames but the God isn't real enough for all of her Azor Ahai visions to come true Haha oh well
lmao
>implying the fat fuck is still relevant enough to have an opinion
>implying he's entitled to criticize anything after selling unfinished shit (and still failing to finish it)
>implying anyone would take him seriously anyway after he botched the story in his own way
spelt wrong, doesn't count.
he's actually quitting, he's not gonna ever release another video on the series again. He's gonna continue the book theories though.

He is god of fire, not the god of prophesies
The problem isn't the lack luster goal, the problem is that the show abandons all narrative build up.
>Why does NK act like a smug asshole
The agency and purposeful actions he takes from his introduction would imply there's some sort of personal connection between the two beyond Bran being a collective source of mankind's memories/history. As it is, there's now no reason for NK to have specifically peruse and target Bran more than anyone else, other than the fact he would eventually have to do it
>What is the point of having other WW's if they also die when NK dies
I don't have a problem with Arya killing NK, but it would have been less anti-climatic if the show teased Jon (maybe with a flaming sword)->tries to fight NK -> is losing -> and then Arya swoops in or some shit
at least that would be a subversion,
you can't just drop all thematic and narrative build up and call it "subverted"
Plus one of the main theme's that has been said to the audience multiple times is how the politics and "game of thrones" is pointless bullshit because there's a greater threat.
Play shitty games, win shitty prizes, but that's been kicked in the dirt.

Jaime but that requires the whole thing where the mad king is secretly his father to fulfil the Azor Ahai prophecy fully and the show didn’t set that up (suppose to be from Aerys line). Danny only makes sense if the dragons are light bringer and dragon fire didn’t work so neither should Valyrian steel (forged with dragon fire) the ONLY weapon that could kill him should be lightbringer and it should have required a Nissanissa sacrifice so literally the only good option is Jon killing Danny to forge the sword and kill the night king that way. Maybe Mel could lay down her life to forge the sword if Danny/Jon stuff is going places the next few episodes or hell even Arya could have died to jon to forge the sword but it should have been Jon (again I want Jaime but Jon was the right choice).
>listening to altshiftX trying to rationalize this shit
Best book character, only legit hero in the books.
so tired of him just going "muh books" all the time
they don't matter
Very presumptuous of you to take my post as if i was implying that.
Did you watch this episode characters where getting saved on the nick of time left and right; others where fighting 50 undead in one scene and then it would cut back and there would only be 5 of them.
He really has no balls..so no. Plus D&D could just cock slap him with saying they thought the books would have been done by season 3 or 4 so they could plan accordingly.
what ISN'T pointless in this fucking catastrophe?
you have this evil, ancient, powerful and mysterious foe who gets OHKO by a fucking goblin
stannis is a based book characters and the lawful heir to the throne
So Was Milisandre really Serio?
guys since the night king is so weak and such a pussy why not just have everyone roll around in dragon glass shards and just run at him tossing whatever's in their pockets at him
all it takes is one guy to even toss a little dragon glass at him that pierces the skin
boom
the battle is won
My favourite character is dead, bros. Is there any point in continuing?
Tbh lads i dont believe thats the ending, there has to be something to it like in the next episode we are going to get bran moving in time or someshit to help arya to get there and shit
Cleganebowl, although the goblin will ruin that too
here i m
I hope you're lying.
I wanna see him making fun of this mess.

based Ice and fire negro gives it a 4.5...out of 10. Its shits!
There's only 3 episodes, and Tormund might get to fuck a big lady of some kind
it better happen
egg...
PLEASE TELL ME THAT WASN'T THE REAL ENDING.
Holy based. This dude gives no fucks when shitting on this.
>NK touches bran through a fucking vision
>scars his forearm forever
>NK holds arya by the throat
>nothing
It's a crime that Alfie Allen never won an Emmy throughout his role.
>4.5
It deserves lower
>Valyrian steel has magic qualities from being made with dragon fire
but when ned stark died and the lannisters got a blacksmith to reforge his sword into two swords using a standard forge.
do you mean the materials to make valyrian have magical properties or is the forging process where the magical properties come from?
pointless anyways cause NK is dead and nothing will save this show from itself.
just watched the episode at 1 in the afternoon.
Could not see absolute fuckshit.
will have to rewatch tonight at 10-11 when its proper dark.
gee i sure am excited for 3 more episodes of Game of Cleanup Crew.
Even that sounds a bit generous desu. Even if you take special effects into account. The cinematography was straight up shit. I couldn't see anything and and the harsh cuts nearly gave me a seizure.
The only way I'll be okay with this shit is if it ends up being the case that the Night King was just trying to kill Bran, the true evil.
Like, NK NEEDED the power of necromancy to even ATTEMPT to fight someone who can literally see the future AND control time.
NK literally threw everything he had at this. The reason he walked right up to Bran so carelessly is because the way he saw it, this shit may be pre determined allready, so he's just going to try and do what he thinks is the most obvious thing and try to subvert Bran's own expectations.
NK literally needed every one of the corpses he had. Even then, he wasn't sure it was enough. Even as you see him go for his sword, he's cautious. like "Okay, what's your plan here, time traveller, what strings did you pull to stop me, I'm right here reaching for my sword"
So Arya jumps at him from literally nowhere, because she has a literal teleport skill the faceless men have that Jaquen used himself.
But he still catches her because she screamed while doing it. So then he starts thinking why would she scream, was I supposed to hear that and turn and catch her?
By catching her did I lose?
Turns out Bran is about finishing the wishes of the children of the forest and will just have all the andals killed
...
>Theon and the Ironborn fire dragon glass arrows at the dead
>Nothing
>Arya uses dragon glass
>They disintegrate
Explain this, lads.
that guy couldn't create V-steel, just rework it. the creation process involves magic, which is said to have largely gone out of the world after the Doom of Valyria.
This just confirms she doesn’t kill anyone she set out to after learning how to assassin, due to the writers not wanting to kill anyone’s favorite character. So she gets her “badass” kill moment that is undeserving.
Writers are hacks.
Brienne fucking wailing non stop actually annoyed the hell out of me, fuck she's such a shit character
I don't think I would quite give it a 4.5 simply because there were good scenes in it. Though it should not get a high rating whatsoever due to all the shit built up for 8 years that suddenly becomes pointless for lol "subverting" expectations.
>Dothraki scene
really fucking stupid, made no sense, they have dragons and multiple experienced tacticians
but it looked good
>Bear girl kills the Giant
A bit too much, but at least she dies right after, and at least the weapon went through the only part that a young kid could conceivably pierce a weapon through a giant
>Arya Library Scene
need to turn your brain off a bit, but the scene itself is shot well and has a good atmosphere. Arya is an assassin, so again, conceivably she can sneak quietly enough given there weren't that many undead in the room
>Crypt
Again, dumb, but the bits between Sansa and Tyrion were quite good.
Mel's got a better death than she deserved, and arguably was a part of the problem with the Dothraki scene.
D&D are more concerned with "cool ideas" than cohesive story telling. That's the problem.
>literally spam the board with arya = azoris ahais theory since ever
>zero (you)s
look at me now suckas
>the camera going over Brienne and everyone else one by one
>everyone standing alone
>each holding 5-10 zambambos at bay

WHY DOES JON DUCK BLUE FIRE THE EXACT SAME WAY TWICE
WHY DOES THE BATTLE TACTICS MAKE NO SENSE
