Because nobody was defending it. Winterfell is built for a siege, that doesn't mean the castle literally has a self-defense security system.

The reason the Jaime greentext works so well is that it uses a characters arc and redemption to give weight to a heroic moment, even if Jaime just killed the NK with one swing. Hell, even Jon killing him would have made more sense, even though the big hero saving the day being lame, because Jon and the NK at least have some kind of history.

Arya just randomly coming along and saving the world would be like seeing Pippin throw the ring into Mt Doom.
It has no meaning or weight behind it.

Berc's death was the best part of the episode. Also the shot of Jon staring down the NK across the bodies and fire was great too.

For a stealthy girl I find it jarring that she screamed at the top of her lungs as she lept for the kill on the NK. Sure she killed him in the end, but how more satisfying would it have been if it was a ninja assassination.

Episode 1 starts off with the battle commencing. The dickless spartans are actually useful and holding off the enemy easily with their shield wall tactics. Occasionally a horde of dothraki memers will come out and take out a large swatch of them before retreating back to regroup. Cut to all the soppy reunions where people just say you change yeah you too. All that other shit that took up 50min before can happen while the siege is going on.

Episode 2 continue on with their useless filler talk while the battle continues on. Make the first line of dickless spartans collapse from exhaustion or show them rotating out the men or whatever it doesn't matter, just shows eventually they'll collapse. Show your dragons coming in and fucking them up then the snow shit whatever the fuck doesn't matter battle continues on. Maybe in this episode have a couple white walkers die to show some hope. Large amounts of zombies die only to be risen again. Cut back to other filler that took 50min before.

Episode 3
Been too long people are starting to pass out. People are saying it'll never end yatta yatta. Have the battle go down the same, it doesn't matter. At least so far it seems like this shit was a big deal and not some quick shitty 40min one and done fight where everyone just dies like retards.

Leaving it like that would be good enough for most people even with the shitty Arya ending. If you must have a feminist bullshit ending then have it go down the same but have danny stab jorah's sword through him to become azor ahai and beat the night king. Doesn't matter either way it's still a better ending.
