She's like a character in an RPG who has hacked the stats to have a 100 rating in everything from hand-to-hand combat to intergalactic diplomacy to starfighter dogfighting. Suddenly, everyone in the rest of the team is completely helpless without her. One wonders how they ever even managed until she showed up to save the day week in, week out. This Mary Sue feels especially out of place in Star Trek, which was always about a crew of different individuals with different skills using them in unique ways to save the day.
