Agreed. That episode was really good. I really enjoyed the charge at the beginning. After all, a wise man once said "what you cannot see is what is scary". The poor lighting was actually a deliberate design choice to make the white walkers more scary. The unknown is what people fear. If we could see the white walkers we wouldn't be afraid of them. I'm also glad that it was Arya who killed the night king as she was clearly the right person for the job. We all thought no one could kill the night king. But arya is no one.

It's a 10/10 from the catering to plebs perspective.

This felt anti-climactic. The whole point of the series is that whoever sits the Iron Throne doesn't matter, the threat of the White Walkers matters.

What they should have done is had Cersei send her armies North, feigning a truce, then have them try to pull a sneaky Red Wedding/Green Trial type of thing against all her rivals. Many mains die, but enough survive, and Lannister army is fighting everyone else during the betrayal. Mains win, but are severely weakened, and guess who shows up at the worst possible time; the Army of the Dead. Then just play Battle of Winterfell, but everyone is bloodied from the massacre just a few hours earlier.
