17 years later and this masterpiece is still unbeaten. They've tried. 8 years building up and it didn't get close. Just another cheesy cheap ass battle with a deus ex machina at the end. There are people giving opinions and praising this second rate fantasy show that weren't alive when to see what a true epic is.
Nothing in fantasy will ever compare to this trilogy.
Connor Wilson
don't worry the LOTR world will soon be distorted and corrupted by the new TV series
Christian Price
heres to hoping amazon gets hit with RICO before that happens.
Jayden Butler
daily reminder that cavalry charges are the most epic things humans will ever do, and there will never be another one.
it's all downhill from here
Luis Watson
idk bout that user castrating yourself is pretty heroic nowadays
Ryan Gomez
Yeah it's the greatest cinematic medieval battle ever filmed and I don't think it can ever be matched. Supposedly it was hell to create but the results really show the intensity of effort put into it.
Angel Adams
how did they fuck up the lighting for GOT so badly? helm's deep wasn't dark at all, was it just to hide their shitty cgi?
Andrew Young
>Gandalf casually brains so,e poor orc >Laughs his ass off about it like and is having the time of his life Based
Christopher Kelly
Imagine thinking the movies aren't already the distortion and corruption.
Jackson is competent but treating these mediocre adaptions of Tolkien like cultural milestones is embarrassing. Is this what you stand for? This is art that really speaks to your soul, defines what you believe it is to be human? A story worthy of being maintained for a thousand years?
Landon Bennett
>poor version of Lang's Die Nibelungen and Eisenstein's Alexander Nevsky >good Heh.
Jordan Ramirez
>this masterpiece
It's got all the same negative properties as the fucking "Battle of Winterfell".
Chase Ramirez
>Is this all you can conjure Martinoman?
Camden Wright
>deus ex machina at the end
>white wizzard comes out of nowhere to save the day
I'm not making a statement either way, I only read the silmarillion. OP was saying helms deep is the absolute best and I was just saying LOTR is going to get worse.
Chase Hall
>out of nowhere >literally tells you exactly when and where he'll arrive from multiple times
Colton Butler
I'm surprised how every series I really liked in the past went to shit. It's true for pretty much all media.
Jayden Sullivan
moron
Noah Turner
This. Martinfags are SEETHING
Chase Collins
>was it just to hide their shitty cgi? yes of course it was
Lmao, today's GoT episode makes this shit look like a sad joke in comparison. You're only saying otherwise because you want to be seen as le ebin contrarian going against the mainstream current.
Christian Garcia
LOTR is for pretentious nerds who hide behind tolkien's basic bitch politics as some sort of vanguard for their shit taste in subculture. i hope tolkien is taking dick in hell
Not really, I don't think Pixar films needed any sequels. Monster University, The Incredibles 2, Finding DoryToy Story 4 are all pointless films that are much worse than the originals.
Andrew Lewis
Helm's Deep was the best battle in the (movie) trilogy. Prove me wrong You can't
Josiah Mitchell
Yes. Because looking at blurry silhouettes for an hour is truly the pinnacle of epic battle scenes
Nicholas Foster
Yes, but this is hardly a big achievements. There were only two big battles in LotR and the second one was full of CGI ghosts and other goofy things.
Isaiah Bennett
B-b-but it's not the same the one in the books!!! t. fucking nerds
Alexander Gray
I just want a movie where I can be on the side of the "good guys" again.
Colton Walker
>Minas Tirith siege >Pelannor Fields >Black Gate >Amon Hen Other battles, worst to best
Ian Miller
>Fell deeds awake. Now for wrath! Now for ruin! And the red dawn!
>Arise, arise, Riders of Theoden! Spears shall be shaken! Shields shall be splintered! A sword day, a red day, ere the sun rises! Ride now! Ride now! Ride! Ride for ruin and the world's ending! Death! Death! Death!
og lotr film trilogy succeeded because it was mostly done in NZ, far far away from hollywood POZ. after he got a taste of success they sucked him into their retarded bullshit.
David Reyes
Endgame beat it
Gabriel Turner
>watching this in the cinema >knowing this was the last film >knowing this was the last decisive battle >mfw Watching the trilogy in the cinemas is still without a doubt the best experience I've ever had in films
if it came out today Yea Forums would be shitting all over that scene because the uruk hai didnt do the OBVIOUS move of chopping the horses' legs as they tried to ride past. making it 10 feet out that door is an unrealistic depiction of combat and therefore bad. also >anglo saxon cavalry armed with short swinging weapons charging massed close formation pikemen
