Sam outweights him though, and as they topple over, NK pulling out his ice sword, Sam drives the dagger Jon gave him into NK's weak point, and they die at the same time. something like that.

Imagine how kino it would've been for the White walkers to decide to all duel Jon after they all meet at the Godswoods, they keep it honorable and have their wights form a circle around them as they face Jon off to a duel and he just murks them all, one by fucking one. And you get to see parts of their wight army just fucking falling apart with each murdered Wight Walker.

Then the Night King finally steps up and faces him, he's close to killing him, he's got him nearly dead to rights, but suddenly Theon in his last breath fires a flaming arrow at him, he catches him off guard and Jon stabs him in his icy heart, ending the White Walker threat.

Damn, I literally came up with this in a spur of the moment and it's still better than what we got.

Have a bunch of main characters fall back to where bran is after the walls start to get breached, have them take over for the archers that were all dead and soon to be raised, have them fight the night king's generals or whatever before the night king comes, after he appears bran touches the face on the tree and the mark the night king gave him starts to glow, bran tries to take over the night king's mind, the generals losing focus get taken out by the key characters, as that's happening theon rushes the night king, but he gets stabbed through as the night king regains himself, as he holds the night king in place then arya comes up and finishes off the night king.

Why would that have been so hard? Was it just easier to CG in a bunch of people standing around doing nothing?
