The movie had a scene where it zoomed into his eyes. I remember that scene because it was really fucking great and I kept hoping he'd become a credible villain because it looked cool, but he never did. So in the end it just left a bitter taste in my mouth. It's been what, 15 years? I still remember that scene

according to the same storyboard book, Grievous' introduction was originally going to start with closeups of his clawed feet, then his organic eyes etc before showing his full body but Lucas didn't like it.
