How EXACTLY did Cap restore the stones to their original timelines? He had them as gems but how did he restore some of them to "pre-gem form" like the tesseract, reality goop and so on?
Hey wait a minute
by fucking your mom nightly for 90 years
how did he get the shield that he gave to sam?Thanos dstroyed the shield in battle
easter egg: 30 seconds before, he goes back in time.
It just a moviieeeee!
Hey wait so when Cap goes to visit Alzheimer's Peggy is his future self like hiding in the closet?
Hey wait so why did Tony have snap his fingers when he had to do a significantly easier job than Thanos?
Hey wait they did change the timeline because Loki stole the space stone and then vanished with it and they never got that back
Hey wait why didn't Cap mention getting beat up by himself eight years ago and then Loki escaping with the staff
Hey wait if he said hail hydra and hydra thought he was working for them why did they try to kill him
Hey wait why am I still so sad and lonely
Does the SSS not affect his aging at all? Why is he sooo old?
And if the infinity stones are essential to existence, isnt the original timeline fucked now that they're gone?
My friend and I have been arguing for days now, is this Chris Evans or not?
He's looking pretty good for a 90+ year old
No Joe Biden made a cameo
How the fuck did cap go to that eclipse planet with the soul gem and return it?
Why didnt they just use the gaunlet to send the stones back? They could have just clicked and done it
Time Stone.
Just turn your brain off, bro.
>get stone that let's you teleport anywhere
>teleport to soul planet
Gauntlet fucks you up I guess
Space stone.
Literally any problem with his ending can be explained away with the fact that he has the fucking infinity stones. Who's to say he immediately returned them all and then lived out his life. Any problem that may arise all he has to do is whip open his infinity case, select the stone for the job and boom its done.
>Gauntlet fucks you up I guess
Hulk could have taken another hit without dying, hell have Thor use it
but if he took that from the tiimeline what did young cap use?
But then Hulk would have no hands how would he jerk off
Why do that when they could just use their time machine and spend 5 seconds doing it without the risk of killing themselves
>Cap is a black guy now
>Thor is a black women
>Iron man is an old white women
>Spiderman is a twink
What a fucking mess, only Asguardians is kino
How did he show up as an old man in this timeline if going back in the past doesn't change the future?
He should have just disappeared from the timeline altogether
Because there is no guarntee Thanos in one of the timelines wouldnt fucking Cap up while he has all the stones and take them
Why didn't the eagles just take the stones to Asgard?
Is Thor gonna be in GotG 3?
Joe Biden i that you?
If the deal is a soul for a soul why does putting the soul stone back not bring the person back? Or does that mean now she can now technically be revived since the pact is broken? What is the limit for a soul for a soul? It's just something you love that has a soul right, can you throw your favorite hamster off the edge?
I hope so, its a kino pairing
Did Cap have to look at Black Widows mangled corpse while he returned the stone to his arch nemesis Red Skull?
Thats kind of fucked up
just turn your brain off bro, enjoy life
It really is.
I guess you can throw a hamster but the problem was that they didn't have a hamster
Why didn't they just get a Black Widow from the past like with Gamora?
thanks man I love you
Damn, thats actually fucked up
THAT NIGGA FALCON AIN'T EVEN A SUPERSOLDIER HE'S JUST AS FRAIL AS ANY OTHER REGULAR HUMAN
it should have been Bucky, I know he has baggage but it would have been a chance to redeem himself
probably one made from the literal mountain of vibranium available on earth
This
The only purpose of this kind of movies is "do you remember__?"
why didn't they just leave and buy a hamster and sacrifice it, like they had all the time in the world
Eww. Please leave.
its another timeline, he must have came back to the mcu timeline as an old man
ahaha nice reddit sent me here
Because you have to love the hamster more than anything in the world. You have to raise and cherish the hamster so much that losing it is like losing a part of you
I thought it only makes a new timeline if you don't bring the stones back
Also by losing the time stone doesn't the bad shit the Ancient One warned about happen?
why didn't everyone just go back in time and steal a fuckton of pym particles while pym was alive? He could've just made more wouldn't have even affected the timeline.
Yeah but does hawkeye really love natasha more than anyone in the world? and why would killing yourself work?
What a bunch of bullshit.
Welcome to time travel.
based scene
The bigger question is, what the fuck did he do with This hammer?
He didn't need to.
He just had to put the gems back else those timelines, which are all separate parallel universes would have ceased to exist due to the lack of infinity stones. (Main universe's infinity stones technically still are in the main universe, Thanos just atomized them)
If you're going to ask how come then Cap's in the main universe as Old cap, it's because it's turtles all the way down. There are parallel universes that are relatively in the past compared to the main one, and parallel universes that are relatively into the future compared to the main one.
Old cap is from a different timeline that is identical to the main one, and the main cap went to another universe that is identical to the main one.
It's an infinite repetition of multiple timelines, instead of just a loop.
if going back in time created an alternate timeline does that mean their timeline is the only one where the hulk dabs and thor is an epic gamer?
That isnt how it works, please look at the diagram.
there's a fucking diagram above you and you still dont get it.
Because the black guy is the new face of America ;:^)
he returned all the stones first via the Quantum gate!
The diagram misses the line that the ancient one says that literally spells out that Bruce's universe would be fine even if they didn't bring back the stones, only hers would be destroyed. She says this before drawing the line in the air.
yeah but it's one fucking stream of time. there is no branching paths as long as they return the stones back the moment they were taken.
I can prove there are multiple timelines in one fucking line:
Loki made it off with the space stone.
>>The diagram misses the line that the ancient one says that literally spells out that Bruce's universe would be fine even if they didn't bring back the stones, only hers would be destroyed. She says this before drawing the line in the air.
Yes because her reality would remain splintered and be without the time stone which is used to defend against Dormammu, you retard.
If they dont return it, then it REMAINS splintered, and it would only REMAIN SPLINTERED if they didnt have the god damn stones back. Thats what she meant. Them being put back does both, it converges it back into one timeline, which means that the stone can then be used against dormammu.
Pay attention.
HE.
DID.
NOT.
TIME.
TRAVEL.
WITH.
IT.
SO.
IT.
DOESNT.
FUCKING.
M A T T E R.
yeah because the writers are stupid idiots and even they don't understand the rules they set for themselves! Whatever! I don't even like these movies
This stupid time travel bullshit really bugs me, yet there are so many mouth breathing morons clapping and cheering calling endgame the final coming of christ!
it’s not the same shield, there’s a slight design on the new shield that isn’t on cap’s old one
>I don't want it to matter so it doesn't!
I just fucking gave you a model for the time travel that works, and your proof for how yours that makes less sense is that it makes less sense?
Nah
it's mocapped cgi-aged evans
>>>I don't want it to matter so it doesn't!
Motherfucker those are the rules that are clearly defined and laid out.
Ancient one fucking explains this, Removing a stone splinters the timeline, putting it back reverts it to one timeline. Thats it. Which means that what Loki did was inconsequential.
Hey wait why did he let 9/11 happen?
you're fucking model just says that loki escaping makes a different timeline. they never mentioned time lines and in the end it didnt matter because the future, the present for the avengers, didn't change! they got back and half the population was still dead which clearly means that thanos still snapped his fucking fingers. it's not an alternate future
This fucking bothered me so much when I saw the movie.
It was supposed to be an emotional moment, but I couldn't stop thinking about how he looked exactly like Joe Biden.
GOTG 3 apparently takes place before infinity War/Endgame, so probably not.
he needed everything to happen or else he would be interfering with the past. the best he could do was just sit back and let everything play out.
>or else he would be interfering with the past
and why is doing that bad?
i dont know
who gives a shit...
one blade of grass out of place means it's a new timeline, brainlet
the moment someone even just appears from the future, the timeline has irrevocably changed
not according to the rules set in the movie
That's what the hammering sound during the Post Credit's scene was from
no apparently is was a call back to the first iron man movie where tony is hammering his suit in the cave
if they can just arbitrarily assert how shit works independent of causality or logic or anything resembling reason, then why bother with the handwaving at all? just go full austin powers and tell the audience to go fuck itself to its face, it's unironically less insulting
why don't the people do interesting things with their lives instead of watching other people do interesting things with their lives.
i noticed while watching the credits that there was a body double credited for "Old steve rogers"
The only thing I'm bothered is the Red Skull/soul stone interaction
>There is only one scenario out of 14 million in which we win
But that's wrong, you fucking retard. Now there's also a Universe where Thanos and his army traveled to the future and never came back. So that's two Universes where the Avengers won.
I thought they were gonna do an entire redo of the elevator scene from Winter Soldier, with the "get off now" line and all.
>Hey wait they did change the timeline because Loki stole the space stone and then vanished with it and they never got that back
They went before that and stole the tesseract from 1970, idiot. Loki stole shit.
same, it was a nice surprise
Because of retards like you who need an explanation.
They wouldn't be at that point in that universe, though, so it wasn't an option for them.
>>But that's wrong, you fucking retard. Now there's also a Universe where Thanos and his army traveled to the future and never came back. So that's two Universes where the Avengers won.
No, that was an alternate timeline created by removing a stone, which was then erased when the stone was put back.
It only existed long enough for that Thanos to leave, and then ceased to exist by the end of the movie. You idiot.
>Cap is a black guy now
Everyone was expecting Bucky to take up the mantle, Sam gets it to be a twist.
>Thor is a black woman
Thor is still Thor dumbass, he just doesn't want to rule over a boring ass town now. New Asgard is lame as hell. Fat Thor gets to go on cool space adventures and be a bounty hunter n shit.
>Iron man
Is dead. Peppa isn't going on adventures or saving the world, she has made it crystal clear in Infinity War she wanted to settle down and raise a family.
>Spiderman is a twink
Valid. But Tom Holland is convincing enough.
What was Superwoman doing the whole time they went back in time?
She could've legit solo'd all the time stones save for Soul.
The timeline is still missing thanos (and his massive army) though. Dead or alive. Is that not a massive change?
Its the same shield. It just apparently was fixed after the big battle.
No because that timeline doesnt exist anymore and its events didnt happen. They werent in it anymore, so they arent affected by what happens to it.
>Sam gets it to be a twist.
*Ackshually* he gets it because it's that way in the comics. Pic related.
But the way they set it up in the movie doesn't really work because Bucky ended up being a much more endearing character.
Did 9/11 even happen in the MCU? I dont remember anyone ever saying something about it. Hell theres even different presidents and military commanders and shit
Timeline =/= Universe
18/22 happened. Twice as bad
doesn't work.
Thats what the movie says is happening user. No amount of headcanon retard shit is going to change the dialogue, the magic orange visual aid, or the ending.
welcome to bad writing you mean?
Theres a difference?
I meant a massive change for the timeline that you say doesn’t exist.. why does it not exist btw. Doesn’t exist because it’s effectively the same timeline as the main one? But it isn’t because past thanos doesn’t even get a chance to use the stones in histimeline.
which is just bad writing.
Not Shatner good. Not even close.
The movie doesn’t work. Aka plot hole. Why do they need the massive time portal thing if cap can just travel anywhere he wants whenever he wants.
Yes, take a look at terminator.
No it doesnt exist because the flow of time only splits if you remove a stone, but corrects back into one timeline if you put the stones back, so when the stone was put back and cap left it simply snapped back to how it originally was, no changes.
Didnt say it was good, just that thats how it works.
>>The movie doesn’t work. Aka plot hole. Why do they need the massive time portal thing if cap can just travel anywhere he wants whenever he wants.
What do you mean exactly, the paltform? Its the anchor to the present.
>source: my ass
Nothing is confirmed, but speculation says it could be about 2014 Gamora.
Bucky is technically still a terrorist wanted by the US government in the MCU also
For real though, why the fuck would anyone see a film, after Endgame, that takes place before these two films?
>Bucky ended up being a much more endearing character.
He's going to be in wakanda getting some shiri action
If cap put the stone back it's because they were missing in the first place. So if War Machine and Nebula got the Power Stone and Cap is putting it back, Thanos still knows that there was a Nebula from the future, is it suppose to magically erased?
But there was a change though isn’t there? The timeline with time travelling thanos? Or has that timeline snapped back and there were two thanos? I’m pretty sure there are about 4 branching timelines with changes that should affect how their timeline plays out. That’s how I saw it anyway. The one where cap goes back in time and stays, the one where Loki walks off, the timeline where thanos time travels. I can’t temember any other ones off the top of my head but I’m pretty sure there are more.
>Hey wait why didn't Cap mention getting beat up by himself eight years ago and then Loki escaping with the staff
Loki's staff altered his memories. Try using your dumbfuck brain sometimes
That timeline was split by removing the stones, which allowed Thanos to come to the present, but then when the stones were put back it stopped existing because time corrected itself back into one stream.
Yeah because you cant change the past, and the stones create the flow of time and that only splits if you take one away, which means that means for all intents and purposes it never happened at all. Snap back effect.
Yes the platform, anchor to the present? What do you mean by that?
Bucky's been trying to retire and be at peace for like 3 movies, he didn't want it. Bucky was clearly in on Cap's plan and approved
>I'm going to miss you
He was going to be gone for 5 seconds, Bucky clearly knew Cap's plan, he had planned beforehand and told him
>Bucky turns away from the time platform the second it becomes apparent Cap isn't coming back while Sam and Banner panic
He knew
>Tells Sam to go talk to old cap and approves him taking the shield
He knew Cap was going to give the shield to Sam, he'd either turned it down by himself or approved Steve's plan.
Cap gave Bucky what he wanted; a path to peace.
Now Sam is going to fuck it up and come to him for help in their TV show or some shit.
where did it say he had to return them to their original forms?
12 monkeys, terminator, even DBZ did it better
The only way they're shown ever returning to the present whenever they time travel is via the platforms
I would not call Dragonball "good writing".
Neither would I, the other 2 however are.
Yeah fair enough. Terminator threw its rules out pretty much immediately though.
Just because he wrote the script before the Avengers movie doesn't mean they didn't planned to add Thor.
Where will the recently announced Loki TV show for Disney+ fit into all this? With the 2012 Loki who escaped with the Tesseract?
The quantum tunnel is their return point, it's the fixed point they can find in the quantum realm, without the anchor they can get lost, it broadcasts the start/return 'quantum GPS'.
They don't technically need it to enter the quantum realm - Scott didn't in the first movie, and both Tony and Cap do it again without one n this - but you run the risk of being lost without it.
Once he was back in the past Cap had the Space Stone so could bop around wherever he liked, he would just need enough Pym charges to go to the three timezones.
Interestingly, the movie shows him stealing 4 Pym vials but he would have needed more to do all he did at the end, so I guess Hank made him some?
How so? With future Kyle being his Dad?
I mean... yeah
i dont see it
and i have the cam rip open right now
Not for old caps last skip back to the present though. Which is pretty much the only thing that bugs me. Unless he turned into sonic and gotta go fastd onto the bench.
On a side note though, I would have asked banner to repeat their first timetravel attempt and turn me back into my younger self, provided I retained my memory.
>Where will the recently announced Loki TV show for Disney+ fit into all this? With the 2012 Loki who escaped with the Tesseract?
No. That timeline was erased.
>>Not for old caps last skip back to the present though. Which is pretty much the only thing that bugs me. Unless he turned into sonic and gotta go fastd onto the bench.
He returned to the present by just getting old, it was the same timeline.
Predestination causal loop bullshit. It doesnt exactly gel with the rest of the movie but thats time travel stories for you, very rarely are they well thought out.
He used the time stone on them like how Dr Strange used it on the apple in the first movie. Reverting the reality stone back to the Aether, etc.
I don't remember it either. But Cap's original shield was unique because Howard didn't have enough Vibranium to make another one. Steve goes back into the past and marries Peggy, head of the secret spy agency Howard co-founded, and now also knows where to get more Vibranium. Maybe something happened there.
how did they get Vision's stone again?
Did they kill him in the alternate timeline?
Loki's most popular solo story is called Kid Loki and it involves the firing of a plan he made should he ever die for real, which basically resurrects him as an innocent child version of himself who his evil old version haunts like the devil over his shoulder, that could make a good TV show.
they get it before they put it on vision in 2012
Loki's scepter was the Mind Stone, they grabbed it from Avengers 1.
does he fuck a horse?
Not in that one, but he does in another one. Loki fucks.
In which case there was an old man sitting on a bench right next to their platform the entire time they were there. I guess superhero shit is standard affair in their universe so no one gave a toss.
Have you seen a horses behind?
idiot, they just had to be placed back into the timeline the exact same moment it was removed; it didn't matter what form it was in.
help, my pp is hard now
Time travel ruins everything. It doesn't matter how clever you try to be with it. It ruins everything, and using time travel is fucking stupid. You should never do it, and only cocky asshole script writers who are high off their own ass vapors think they're good enough to surpass the challenge.
Tom Holland and Harley Keener Ty Simpkins are so handsome.
aren't you supposed to be like a celestial or some shit to be able to use one without fucking dying? or is that just the power stone
It was fine until captain America came back on the chair. If he had came back through the portal as an old man and tony and Steve didn’t do the second jump, fine. I could accept it as a mandatory return journey back to the platform and have them have 4 (or how evermany) branching timelines. But being able to go wherever the fuck you’d want is stupid.
This is the perfect answer. Thanks.
hes almost 200 years old
