The Hulk was amazing in the first avengers. He was a force of nature that set the tone of violence and power in the universe. He was the ace in the hole for any situation.
Why did they slowly destroy this character? Even back in Ultron he didn't do much of nothing.
Ragnarok was the only other film where he got to go nuts and really be the Hulk and it wasn't really connected to anything.
He was terrible in the first film, with the pussification and being stuck in an Iron Man suit... and don't get me wrong, Chad Hulk was hilarious, but why didn't he get the chance to Hulk out and be a force of nature one more time?
They just made fun of him in the first film flashbacks and he got to talk a lot... and snap his fingers? Again. Chad Hulk was hilarious but it's not very satisfying.
Was it the inability to write a power character ala superman? Was it the nonsense about not giving him a solo film because he was hard to write? Was it Rufilo being a bitch and wanting more lines?
It's seriously the biggest let down of both of these films if you're a Hulk fan.
user - I agree 100%. Even the way they just yada yada how Banner merged the two was annoying. Hulk is way underpowered as well. No where near as strong as he is in the comics.
Cooper Morgan
Hulk was too based in previous films so they had to nerf him
Wyatt Morgan
Hulk was the best thing to happen in endgame
honestly just have sex
Jack Young
Don't Worry. World War Hulk is going to be off the hook and show just how Powerful Smart Hulk is
William Green
>OP character that literally gets infinitely more powerful the angrier he gets and could literally solo Thanos with one hand has been nerfed
Gee I wonder why
Andrew Peterson
How so? He's comic relief that isn't THAT funny. He does nothing. He even says time travel isn't his strong suit. He fails at snapping the fingers and Tony has to do it.
You could literally erase him from this film.
They even fucked up his relationship payoff with Natasha. He's just like.. Yeah I tried but fuck it.
>showing not telling. >throwing that away because the writers couldn't envision it.
He gets physically stronger, yes, but not more powerful on a cosmic level. Seeing him hit an upper limit and STILL get rekt by thanos would be BOLD AND POWERFUL.
Hulk is too overpowered... They had to nerf his strength, his size, etc
It's like Antman... You now he's a overpowered character when you realize that he can shrink inside a person a fuck up organs and shit like that
Caleb Sanders
He literally said time travel wasn't his field and fucked it up for comedy. He was just there until Tony showed up and fixed it.
Not Needed
Ryan Green
That's the same excuse people use for superman. It really just means they aren't smart enough to write a good story.
Kevin Taylor
he does not fail at snapping. He snaps half the universe back into existence. He just didn't know about thanos's army yet
Connor Kelly
Tony technically could have done both and died.
Joseph Harris
No he couldn't? The avengers literally only knew that Thanos was attacking after Hulk's snap to resurrect half the universe. Hulk even was the first one to see the rockets hitting.
Aiden Parker
Yes he could. Thanos attacking sets up tonys sacrifice. He could have attacked before they snapped everybody back just as easy. Tony could have been a bigger hero and brought everybody back while destroying thanos.
Jason Brooks
Too much professor and not enough Hulk. It was just Bannner except he was big and green. He doesn't have the right mindset to get angry and smash things. That's where you need the Hulk.
Christopher Stewart
Which begs the question.. why have him if he's not a superhero and not going to be the fucking HULK.
Aaron Wilson
Also, if Thanos had won he could snap them all back, so the Hulks sacrifice is just.. not needed.
Jonathan Lewis
Would have never had the glove, they were being beaten before Dr Strange arrived.
Isaac Allen
it subverted expectations
Jonathan Adams
Ruffalo is a shitty banner, but really the Hulk comics suffered far worse. Marvel has no idea what to do with him. Planet Hulk was probably his best modern moments, but the grey hulk shit, red hulk shit, merged banner/hulk shit is all temporary and barely cohesive. Hulk is an unfinished archetype.
Jason Reyes
Because Disney doesnt want to promote toxic masculinity
David Bennett
>Was it the nonsense about not giving him a solo film because he was hard to write? That's not why he doesn't have a solo film, it's because Universal still retains some distribution rights to the character and Disney are too greedy to ever split a piece of the pie.
Parker Myers
Professor
Hulk was an absolute scene stealer, you have never been wrong.
But the good news is, that you're now free to go fuck yourself.
Hudson Collins
Hulk giving antman a taco was the best scene in the movie
