I suppose people think that because they are literate, that is itself qualification to decide to become a writer.

Maybe you should practice writing scripts for your favorite shows, when you actually get a good one mail it in to a producer or writer. Aside from that go to school for it and start with small time jobs.

Write some scripts and then spam them until someone makes one and then use that as your credentials and apply for a job. It's an impossibly hard task, but that's the best way of doing it without connections
