>tfw no rural japanese gf
Does anybody besides women actually watch this stuff?
yeah, me
reported
Grave of the fireflies
This wasn't even remotely good. Why do people have a hard on for it?
Didn't you hate it? I did. Really lazy chickflick.
sappy romance anime is my guilty pleasure
>Not crying for Grave of Fireflies
Got to be american
>Are we doing this reiner?
>yes, we settle this, right here right now
I cried and hated it at the same time. That faggot mc.
This. Koe no Katachi was miles better
Agreed
This gender bender genre is popular in asia
Once, almost
Neither were great, but Koe no Katachi was bullshit garbage.
The best anime film that year was pic related by far.
it's kino but crying at that ?
abbacchio, last episode realyy did me in, though
Toradora christmas episode
Interlude is probably the only thing that made me burst out full on crying.
In my defence it was just after going to a funeral and I thought I'd watch a nice light hearted anime to take my mind off of it.
This. I consider myself to be fairly tough and this shit had me wailing.
End of Evangelion shits on everything in this thread, apart from .
It's more emotional AND more intelligent/thought provoking than any other anime.
stop pretending to like anime
gtfo pleb
Yeah
But eva isn't really a tearjerker.
That said, no other anime has given me this eery and suffocating feeling of depression and isolation that eva has in those last episodes + the movie. There is just something so real about how all those characters react to the situation that they're in.
gay lil no-taste having nigga. Gundam did it better.
This one was cute. I just wanna grab a mute girl and rape her to death. No one could understand her
I didn't cry while I was watching pic related, but I recently took LSD and I randomly thought about it and I started crying uncontrollably in the middle of the woods.
Good movie and nice trip.
I cried while watching it but I've never done acid.
Why are Eva fags such fucking incel fedora tier cockmonglers?
it triggers their romantic narcissistic self-tortured personality complexes because they mistakenly identify with the ridiculously overwrought characters in the show
this, toradora makes me cry each time like a little bitch
Space bros
The latest episode of jojo got me teary
Grave of the Fireflies came closest.
I absolutely adore this artstyle
so I got a bit choked up in the emotional scenes plus the movie is good
Both were shit.
Based.
absolutely based
Admit it
>tfw no qt innocent rural Japanese gf
This hurts me every day. I've cried about it to my fobby Filipina gf many times and despite her efforts to make me feel better nothing helps.
Don’t care what you faggots think
>"this is isn't good"
>inserts some underground title no one ever heard of
Maybe not CRY-cry, but definitely get emotional with some animes...
This movie is a male fantasy. Women would be into it if the guy was some turbo Chad with money or whatever, Taki is just some rando.
This one did
Man, fuck Buddha
The bullying was so fucking hard to watch
For some reason I thought it was going to end with the montage so I got absolutely demolished
I don't cry at cartoons.
Ive never watched a single anime in my life what should i watch, dont recommend me some girly slice of life fag shit
The second to last cowboy bebop episode fucked me up
My personal recs for these scenarios.
>I want something dumb, but fun
Gunsmith Cats, Dirty Pair, Sakamoto Desu Ga.
>I want something relatively dumb, but meaningful
Gundam War in the Pocket, Gunbuster, FLCL, Trigun
>I want something smart
Kino's Journey (2003 version), Ghost in the Shell (TV, movie, all of it), Tatami Galaxy, Turn A Gundam.
>I want something artsy and jerk off to how smart I am
Lain, Texnolyze
And also I want to recommend
>Girly slice of life that's actually good (seriously)
Hinamatsuri and Asobi Asobase. No, seriously, these are great, especially Hinamatsuri.
>Just sum good movie that aren't memes like Your Name of Deaf girl fetish movie
Perfect Blue (all of Satoshi Kon really), Grave of the Fireflies, Eve no Jikan, Giovanni no Shima.
yes
based Shiba
is angel beats actually good tho
This one time I realised there are thousands of grown men around the world who sincerely enjoy Japanese cartoons made for little girls and shed a few tears. Does that count?
>made for little girls
are you just pretending to be retarded?
I haven't cried at any anime
but MuvLuv
Goddamn fucking PTSD
DUDE
I cried like a bitch at this scene
There have been plenty of anime that have made me tear up a little, but only two have mad me uncontrollably sob like a little bitch
One is A Silent Voice when Ms. Nishimiya visits the hospital after Shouko attempted suicide and gets down on her fucking hands and knees in a kowtow to Shouya's mom. The fact that Shouko's mom had harbored so much resentment for so long and was the very last person holding out on forgiving Shouya, seeing all of that finally be let go because of what Shouya did really got to me. This actually hit me harder than the fight in the classroom or the final bridge scene.
The second is episode 10 of Violet Evergarden the little kid's speech toward the end was fucking phenomenal, but what makes the episode truly outstanding is that they hit you AGAIN with the feels when Violet gets home and reveals how hard it was to keep her own tears in while she had to write the letters.
Fair call - not all are made specifically for little girls, but the ones made specifically for little girls still have a disturbingly large portion of fans who are grown men.
This is horrible, did you make it yourself?
>Gundam
>Start with 00, Seed or Wing
All three are terrible picks. It's true that it's not something to easy to pin point where to start Gundam, but at even 0079 movie trilogy would've been a better rec.
Also
>Recommending Railgun before Index
>the ones made specifically for little girls
Which ones are those?
This one specifically, the one episode where she writes the letters for the dying mother
Couple episodes of Code Geass (stuff with Kallens mother, ending, some CC shit). Aika stuff in Blast of the Tempest and a lot flashbacks in One Piece.
If anything anime seems more effective than live action movies on me. Don't recall crying at any movie.
I forgot what was Veg's 10th episode about, can you remind me? I only remember the whole show being aggressively mediocre.
VNs are the superior medium you faggots
the majority of toradora eps make me cry or at least tear up. I was just rewatching that yesterday. so good
>did you make it yourself?
No
>0079 movie trilogy would've been a better rec.
I see
>>Recommending Railgun before Index
That also bothered me, but I'm too lazy to change it.
A better rec compared to Seed, 00 and Wing, not a good rec in general.
it's the one where the dying mother has Violet write letters to her daughter to be delivered each year on her birthday
I am not sufficiently familiar with anime to tell you. I am however sufficiently familiar with autists posting their waifus. Take this pic for example:
Am I really supposed to believe this is from something made for an audience other than little girls?
Summer Wars and the Ame No Sagiri fight from the Persona 4 anime
Yes? Or are you edgy incel too manly for good emotional movies?
Waifus are designed from the ground up to appeal to teenage and adult men. It's the literal definition of male gaze marketing. The notion that this shit is created for little girls is laughably stupid.
I still don't get why it left strong impression on anyone, was the punchline not obvious?
>INCEL INCEL
fucking kys
Yeah, once.
You have wrong perception of what Japanese girls want to see, they want to see cute boys. Pic related, Bungou Stray Dogs, is anime that is strongly popular among Japanese women and fujoshits.
Cute girls are usually tailored to male demographic.
I disagree with your first opinion but agree with the second.
In this Corner of the World was one of the best animated movies of the decade.
Ok yeah this is plausible. Still makes me sad grown men watch it though.
You'll understand someday.
I don't think so. There's really nothing about it that appeals to me at all. Loved Akira (with the right dub) though.
Fuck you
God it still hurts.
>There's really nothing about it that appeals to me at all.
Are you by any chance a homosexual?
>Loved Akira
Akira was a visual masterpiece, but the story was a mess.
Kamiyu!
yes
i cried when kamina died in ttgl. I know its such an entrytier anime but that show with the concept of willpower and shit got me so emotionally invested.
still get body shivers whenever i rewatch the final fight.
>Are you by any chance a homosexual?
If I said no would anyone believe it?
>Akira was a visual masterpiece, but the story was a mess.
Yeah the manga was better. I usually find myself thinking the opposite of this, but that movie really should have been an hour longer.
>If I said no would anyone believe it?
It's the only explanation I can think of for a man with no desire to impregnate beautiful anime girls.
It's really just that I don't dig kids/teens. I don't even like fully shaven adults.
It's good but the last episode is so cheap. I've never been verbally mad over how an anime has ended before
Pics of Filipina gf?
Yeah, because I'm a sucker for forgiveness and redemption. Also because I drink heavily while watching most anime
Don't cut yourself on the edge, incel.
Angel Beats and Dusk Maiden of Amnesia Until they ruined it by bringing her back
Even i thought it was corny
Eh, sure. I used to like anime as a kid and cried at a few. Now I'd say the only thing remotely interesting to sometimes come out of asia is porn. Even then, when enough of the insecurity ingrained in their culture shows, I find it sad.
The last few minutes of Gunbuster, and by extension, Diebuster fuck you I liked it really get me. One of the few things I rematch often.
I wanna into anime, how do I into anime
This film touched me on a really personal level. Thanks to whoever made this.
im just going to leave this here
youtube.com
>he didnt read the mangoes
though I have to applaud you on that. The comics were somewhat horrible. Glad they cut that movie making arc from the flick
the English dub really sells the emotion
>inb4 I ONLY WATCH SUBS REEEEE
Anime has made me cry more times than any kino live action films.
Only once. Who knows how many times I've gotten chills and teary eyes, hundreds if not thousands of times at least. But I only had tears stream down my face (not sobbing, but my eyes got so teary eyed that 4 tears ended up streaming down my face) only once, and that was in one piece, after Sanji beat up up Luffy and left him behind, and Luffy stood there shouting about not giving up on h and standing there waiting for him to get back.
youtube.com
this is the only moment in an anime that has made me emotional
yeah , F
Huh I wonder where that truck is going.
If you didn't cry to this, you're a soulless faggot
youtube.com
This one definitely creeps up on you, too be fair though I feel like the music carries it a lot more so then the story itself.
>Narancia screaming in disbelief at Bruno
His VA did a damn good job
They really went the extra mile to make it impactful in the anime. Manga Abbachio was a literally who cares character.
This is my favorite anime film. It's predictable but handled so insanely well you can't complain.
came here to post this
cried in the car the day after, too
Yamazaki leaving and that snowball fight scene in Welcome to the NHK had me shed a tear.
The song that plays always gets me. It's a really beautiful piece of music.
>YUME, SORE WA YUME, YUME
Fuck.
