Absolutely—but like I said a second ago, the producers must respect the source material. Feige does; the SW team does not. So we looked elsewhere. Passion, emotion, playfulness, seriousness, and respect for source material works every time it’s tried.
MCU is the biggest franchise in history and there is plenty of room for new myths.
Another thing, compare how Endgame delivered on nostalgia in the finale, where Last Jedi pissed on it—a figurative AND literal illusion.
Because the source material is extremely limiting despite the constant assurance of the fanboys that the universe is actually incredibly broad is scope. The movies are all about the same thing. The same archetypal characters, the same plot devices, the same themes and even the same aesthetics. It would be like trying to make trilogy after trilogy set in Middle Earth. You want it but you shoudn't. The MCU, by contrast, can go pretty much anywhere it wants. It's built to be an extended universe.

Aladdin won't do shit. The only live-action Disney remakes that have made more than 600m was Beauty and the Beast. Godzilla 2014 did around 500m total, and I doubt the new one is going to do much better than that. Detective Pikachu is the only one that's going to slow this down, and Endgame has another weekend before that. This movie will hit 3bil. No problem.
