How the fuck is it that no other movie is still able to do time travel right besides Primer?
How the fuck is it that no other movie is still able to do time travel right besides Primer?
Because its an open plot device to have when you need to cut several takes for the same movie because one certain bitch couldn’t keep jer trap shit
because time travel isn't real and they're not making documentaries,
they purposely make it vague and convoluted in order to use it as a cop out in case if they write themselves in a corner or something doesn't exactly make sense
>FAQ about time travel
>Timecrimes
>Edge of tomorrow
>Groundhog day
>Back to the future
Along with Primer that’s pretty much it.
Because you either have to go the "alternate realities" route, which lessens the impact of basically everything happening, or you have to go the "future-you was there and did all that shit all along from the shadows" route which is clumsy and dumb. I haven't seen Endgame btw.
Correct. That's why time travel shouldn't be in movies (except movie about time travel...I guess)
>time travel done right
according to what definition and real example of time travel?
I think he means that
1. Makes perfect logical sense in the film
2. Follows it's own rules
if he's using Primer as an example I assume
>Primer
no one has time for that boring nerd shit
never seen primer but what even makes it the best time travel movie that makes sense and works anyways?
Primer is dogshit
It's not really nerdy in any way except pretentious art nerd way.
*cough*
no u
it does it in a more grounded and "realistic" way I guess that whole explained sounds complex but in a logical sense is perfect and leaves no room for plot holes
Why do people even get hype for these movies? they're just way too long and boring CGI showcases
who cares
Tom Holland and Harley Keener Ty Simpkins are so handsome.

You cant do time travel right. The same way you cant have a human body that can throw cars (captain america) but we are all willing to suspend belief. until it comes to time travel, then everyone is a physicist.
Why are you here?
Time travel is physically possible. The impossible part is building a time machine that connects to the past on Earth with the current technology level.

>no triangle

Traingle was more an infernal recursive loop. Also Melissa George had a cameo as the pretty actress in Mullholland Drive, movie feels even more sick when you imagine it as having Lynchian overtones.
>Watch movie based on the poster and description, because you like time travel, thrillers and Ozzies chicks in hotpants.
>Get Lynched.

Was tonys sacrifice really necessary, I'm sure they would have won without snapping his fingeridoos
time machine but Thanos broke both
None of those have a working theory for time travel into the past, only relative time dialation .
Considering they were being overwhelmed and their big hitter CM had just gotten floored with the power stone, it was not looking like they could beat the army even if they kept the glove from thanos.
they could have snapped thanos and his army at any point: Thor and Hulk and probably CM would have survived. they didn't because plot.
that is about future things going to the present not about the main characters jumping back and forth through time
>Was tonys sacrifice really necessary,
not really. there are better ways to handle the glove but stark needs to go because money.
Your diagram misses the fact that Loki disappears after avengers 1
>No one is mentioning Arrival.
Watch Arrival anons.
They should have went with the Futurama version of "time travel", where the universe is an eternal cycle and Tony could only travel forward leaving behind the doomed cycle, and starting anew and fixing the new cycle. 50% of the universes would go to shit, 50% would be saved.
>b-but causal loops
>b-but muh time travel rules
let me break it down for you idiots one more time: INFINITY STONES MAKE IT WORK.
The answer to any of your bullshit questions is INFINITY STONES.
Returning the stones makes all the artificially created branches merge back into the master timeline. If you want to get scientific about it, it's a waveform collapse. Yes, there always were, and always have been two instances of Steve Rogers existing at the same time since the 1940s. One who was frozen, woke up, was in the Avengers, then time travelled back to become the 2nd instance who lived out life with Agent Busty while the first instance was frozen etc.
And stop banging on about 9/11. Why would Cap try and interfere? He lived through a war where Hitler turned 6 million Jews into soap. He wouldn't get out of bed for a couple of hundred overpaid bankers, especially if Peggy was in the same bed.
Endgame felt weighty and the travel felt like it had stakes. Limited attempts and you could get stuck. That was good enough for me.
Endgame is the most scientifically accurate.
>Primer
Stop pretending you understood this convoluted mess that only Reddit likes. It has not done time travel properly because you need to study some fucking fan-made huge charts and diagrams, read research papers and watch hour long Youtube videos explaining the plot just to understand what the fuck is going on. All this to rationalize and justify that it makes sense while in-fact it doesn't. Only brainlets that want to pose as smart people say that Primer was good and that they understood it.
It's more of a
>complaining about slapping time travel on top of established universe and lore thus ruining it all
All you have to do to pull off a time travel plot is clearly establish your setting's rules for how time travel works and then not break them.
