Quintessential British Humour:
>puns
>gags

>scripted practical jokes
Now, try to imagine german humor :
>German butts in and makes everyone behold his banal autism to the disinterest of literally everyone around him
classic German humour
Canada produces all the best comedians, prove me wrong:
>Mike Myers
>Norm McDonald
>Dan Ackroyd
>Tommy Chong

Jim Carrey is only funny when he's written by Steve Oedekerk. Outside of Ace Ventura 2, he's just dumb faces.
Mister Bean is Kino.
I find that to get British humour, you need to be British

Tell that to Norman Wisdom, Mr. Bean, Charlie Chaplin, Peter Sellers, Dudley Moore, and one-half of Laurel and Hardy, m8.
>british humor
there is a very small portion of americans who can appreciate british humour, we're the ones who kept PBS afloat for so long
>tfw childhood memories of watching are you being served and one foot in the grave with my ma and AB FAB with my dad
>tfw they didn't let me watch south park though because it was so asinine
Mr Bean is more recognisable worldwide than just about every American comedy of the last 30 years Americuck
John Cleese had a Cathedral of a body and this is a kick that is to be admired.
>Peter Sellers
Based retardposter. No American would ever use superfluous "u". Now jog on, bon voyage.
Good moaning.
This is totally false and you sound untravelled.
British comedies and tv shows in general are more popular across Europe than American shows.
Nobody in Europe has even heard of Seinfeld. Most American sitcoms don't even exist there. Outside of Simpsons, American comedies have never been very popular outside of North America.
Northerner here. Python is alright. Prefer The Fast Show or Leugue of Gentlemen myself.

Fawlty Towers is the GOAT, women and niggers BTFO
Based Major. Non colony having faggots will never understand.
This is true. Simpsons is probably on par. That's about it. Mr. Bean might actually have more global popularity though.
Daily reminder America has copied more British TV shows than Britain has copied American shows, around 3 times as many
I don't know how a 14 episode show could be so popular. Bean is probably more popular than Atkinson himself.
There's quite a lot of misunderstanding there too, based on either languages or a clashing of the worlds. Which you seem to have ripped off of the french. Or It might've been an hommage.
The more I'm looking into the past the more I'm finding the french to be at the base of everything and the English are nothing but a bunch of drunken Louts.
Based and also redpilled. Britcucks have always trying to live up to their superior, bigger dick neighbours.
>Hello, fellow humans.
American "humor" is fucking disgusting. You're only slightly better than Japs outside of your toilet jokes.

Do Americans even have anything close that comes close to Brass Eye, The Day Today, or Jam

I liked it.
Reminder that based Peter Cook cucked John F Kennedy by shagging his wife Jackie

I'll take that as a no, Americans are too literal-minded and have a hard time seperating satire from real life
I tell you, the other day, some bloke came up to me, I dunno who it was, an he said, You cunt.
"""""""""""""White""""""""""""""" Americans and their """""""""""""""(((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((greatest allies))))))))))))))))))))))))))""""""""""""""""""""""""" are faggots
Remember when it was ok for Europeans to hate each other amongst themselves? And we would nitpick and give each other shit for it. Now we gotta fight against The Big Brown Evil. And there's no unison.
Here's a redpill: European's don't like each other. Each country speaks a different language, has a different culture. And then we have the battle with between mainlanders and stupid Islander folk. Such as the bucktoothed Brits. We don't have enough resources to fight each other as it is. And then we have to take in these desert folk, redirecting our diminishing returns towards the gibs department just to keep it civile. Fuck you and your wog department. Reperations my ass. You are lazy and entitled and the jews are enabling you to the furthering of their own entitlement.
I don't hate. Pretty sure my head won't be on a scaffold in this lifetime. But yeah, getting real tired of your shit.
i find british humor funny, but jesus christ i hate these faggots and their "jokes"
Take it for what you want I'm not an American and don't care but you watch weird telly
what country are you then
Who cares, JFK cucked Jackie with every woman who came in a 10 mile radius

Louis Theroux is quintessential understated British humility and humour.
>he doesn't like Chris Morris'ss material
jokes on you pal
Not a fair generalisation my friend. For instance I loved Four Lions but wouldn't watch a single episode of Veep. And overall I'm past my "dark humour" phase. Maybe half a decade ago but now It's all droll.
He's an unfair hypocrite. I want to give hime the benefit of the doubt, But to me he seem like a conniving, snivelling little cunt. The British equivalent of Michael Moore. Not a shred of honest journalism to him. But I might be wrong, it's what I get from him.
>now It's all droll.
You do know droll means funny right
>t. big poppa
He has a wife you know
Not quite. Look I'm sure you have some Space Raiders to munch and a bong to hit or a line of K to snort or whatever so just do us both a favor and let's not go any further into this. I'll tell you what user, you win and whatever you have said or will say has my total validation. I should be asleep now anyway. I have no idea why I'm even here right now.
fucking love michael palin and his travel documentaries.
STWIKE him, Centurion!
South Africans love British humour
Sod off, you're not me.
I meant it's only mildly amusing, smirk-worthy at best, which is what droll means. If I meant outright sidesplitting funny, I'd have said as such.
>he misused a word whilst attempting to be sound intelligent and is now using ad homs and passive aggresiveness to save face
>he's attempting to disown his previous comment by pretending not to be him
That poster wasn't me, I replied to you already. All you've done is post proof that validates me. A synonym is not a definition. I bet you feel foolish a bit now don't you.
How hard of a hit has British humor taken now that dressing up in womens clothing is transphobic?
>A synonym is not a definition.
a synonym is a word that has the same meaning. I bet you feel foolish a bit now don't you.
tl;dr droll = funny

Your screenshot only does you a disservice mate.
Droll means mildly amusing but in an odd or whimsical way. They both describe something humourous but droll is more specific and does not connotate causing outright laughter but rather a subtle reaction. Synonyms are similar but not identical. You must be a troll.
>You're being pedantic.

I wouldn't have to go into detail if you weren't acting like an idiot for (You)s. I'll admit you baited me well, but I see through your little scheme and shan't be giving you any more satisfaction.

I'm quite familiar with the nuances and semantics of the word droll but the point remains it's amusing/funny

I have no idea why Teachers isn't mentioned more in Brit comedy threads. It's up there with Peep Show IMO.

>"uguu!~ sugoi MC-chan, you're so lewd! >:3 ^_^"
>guy gets a nosebleed and falls over
>exaggerated vein on forehead and/or sweat drop from bystanders
>the words "embarrassed" and "horny" pop up on screen to clarify yet again exactly how they're feeling, as if it weren't obvious, sometimes even cutting away to its own screen for a few frames that shows nothing but the various adjectives

Any variety show has 1 insanely funny skit for every 10 boring ones.
This is true for Monty Python and it's true for SNL.
It's just the nature of doing lol random skits. Make enough and eventually a certain amount will be great classics.
>that monty python sketch about belligerent movie producers that transitions into the credits where all the names in the credits have "berg" added to the end
>that monty python sketch where a guy wears a gigantic prosthetic nose onto a chat show and when the host tells him to go away because he's being silly, the guy with the nose yells "that's anti-semitism!"

>>Any variety show has 1 insanely funny skit for every 10 boring ones.

MP is more like 1 bad sketch for every 10 funny ones, and even then, the way that bad sketch is integrated into the flow of the episode and other sketches makes it good.
