Rank his kinos
For me it's
1.Clockwork Orange
2.The Shining
3.Barry Lyndon
4.Paths of Glory
5.FMJ
6. Dr Strangelove
7.2001
I haven't seen the rest
Stanley Kubrick

I haven't seen the shining or path to glory, but your list seems about right for the most part. A Clockwork Orange is a masterpiece and 2001 is an overrated meme film. But Barry Lydon over Dr. Strangelove? Are you insane? The second part of Bary Lyndon is the most boring thing I have ever watched.
SPARTACUS
1) Strangelove
2) Barry Lyndon
3) Clockwork Orange
4) The Killing
5) Paths of Glory
6) Lolita
7) 2001
8) Eyes Wide Shut
9) Full Metal Jacket
10) The Shining
11) Spartacus (7.5/10)
Dr. Strangelove is just lacking that thought provoking and brilliant message and meaning behind it.
It's still great but I found Barry Lyndon to have a much more engaging story
Why is the Shining so low and why is Strangelove so high?
2001 > The Shining > Dr. Strangelove = Lolita > Barry Lyndon = Clockwork Orange > Spartacus > FMJ > Eyes Wide Shut
Barry Lyndon is Kubrick's best film.
am I literally the only one who thinks EWS is better than FMJ
I think that too.
EWS/Shining > rest
Is it just me or is Full Metal Jacket the most fucking retarded movie of all time. The dialogue seems written by a middle schooler and the acting is porn-tier. The two saving graces were the visuals and that sergeant’s performance.
People dont criticize it enough because m-muh kubrick.
It’s a fucking shit movie that literally makes me cringe when I think about what the characters say
But that's kinda the point.
Objectively:
2001
A Clockwork Orange
Dr. Strangelove
The Shining
Paths of Glory
Eyes Wide Shut
The Killing
FMJ
Killers Kiss
Spartacus
Lolita
Still praying I'll one day catch Barry Lyndon at the theatre to watch it for the first time, and I'm 36.
>hasn’t seen The Shining
>in 2019
1. EWS
2. Barry Lyndon
3. 2001
4. FMJ
5. Dr Stranglove
6. Clockwork Orange
7. Paths of Glory
8. The shinning
9. Lolita
FMJ and 2001 had a strong effect on me in my teenage years which is why I rated them so highly, though now I do wonder about 2001 and suspect that Kubrick was being coy in his ending and that it's intentionally made to be vague without any real substance.
He did interviews where he explained the ending
lolita
havent seen the rest
>he doesn't understand the peanuts outta my shit scene
you're so lost
Lyne's is better
ok i know what im watching tonight then thanks
Read Nietzsche
>no Eyes Wide Shut
In a way I envy you. Torrent this shit right NOW
Kubrick if you want a slapstick comedy with great actors. Lyne if you want an adaptation of the novel.
There's a scene where they are fighting over change that he is paying her in to fuck him and she naked. Also, a lot of feet.
1. The Shining
2. Barry Lyndon
Other movies not liked because I don't care for them. Full Metal Jacket is too shallow, 2001 is too cold, Eyes Wide Shut is pretentious, Dr Strangelove is unfunny, Clockwork Orange is just obnoxious, and I haven't seen Paths of Glory.
>loved
The Shining
EWS
Barry Lyndon
>enjoyed
Paths of Glory
2001
>was okay
FMJ
Dr Strangelove
Clockwork Orange

Barry Lydon

>Clockwork Orange
>Full Metal Jacket
>Lolita
rest are shit
switch 2001 and barry lyndon and resubmit, otherwise A+
The Shining isn't cold. Its performances aren't realistic, but they're grotesque and have life in it. 2001 has no real acting and that bores me. Barry Lyndon is a bit cold but it fits with the mannered setting. Also it just looks a lot more better than the sterile hollow cavernous 2001 sets. People say "That's the point bro because future humanity or whatever" but I don't want to put up with that for 2 and a half hours.
1. Eyes Wide Shut
2. 2001
3. Full Metal Jacket
4. The Killing
5. Barry Lyndon
6. The Shining
7. Lolita
8. A Clockwork Orange
Haven't seen the others.
1. Barry Lyndon
2. Paths of Glory
3. Lolita
4. 2001
5.dr. strangelove
6.the shining
7 Fmj
8.A clockwork orange
Barry, Clockwork and Strangelove have the ability to become old after a while. The others never seem to. I have seen The Shining more times than I'd care to admit too. That's why they're there.
Actually I forgot Dr. Strangelove
I'd put that at number 8, moving A Clockwork Orange down to 9.
back to your endgame generals
actually this
I have watched both the shining and ews countless times too, there's just something about those movies
i've watched 2001 once and will never watch it again probably, didn't really interest me like those two, but I understand your preference
2001 is different for me because it's probably the greatest film ever made imo but I can't just put it on whenever. It's an investment but a good one. I should have mentioned that.
I already posted my list but now I'm going to try to remember which order I saw them in and roughly what age, considering Kubrick got me into film.
>The Shining (12)
>Clockwork Orange (16)
>2001 (19)
>FMJ (19)
>Spartacus (19)
>Paths of Glory (20)
>Dr. Strangelove (21)
>Lolita (22)
>Eyes Wide Shut (22)
>Barry Lyndon (22)
I saved Barry Lyndon for a decade because I knew it would be the last fresh Kubrick I would ever get. I am 28 now.
1. Clockwork Orange
2. 2001
3. Barry Lyndon
4. The Shining
5. Paths of Glory
6. Full Metal Jacket
7. Strangelove
8. The Killing
I really need to see Eyes Wide Shut
2001 > Dr. Strangelove > The Shining > The Apollo 11 moon landing >>>>>>>>> everything else
Eyes wide shut is his best work he even said it himself before he died of a natural heart attack
>natural
Reminder: "Barry Lyndon is Kubrick's best" is the clearest pseud-marker in existence. His fumbling imitation of a painterly style and period-piece aesthetics, mastered by Griffith half a century earlier, is as dull as it is derivative.
Shooting on 'le special NASA stem lens' is always brought up as if it were some empirical evidence of genius. It isn't unique. David Lean had a lens specially made just for one shot in Lawrence. Hitchcock had to do extensive modifications to create the Vertigo effect without having a zoom lens. Welles was one of the first to utilize 18mm in Touch of Evil. Jacques Tourneur did amazing things with filters and Technicolor to mimic watercolor vistas in Way of a Gaucho. To say nothing of what Griffith accomplished with 1910s technology.
I don’t see the differences am I a brainlet
I literally drew a square over them, how do you not see?
1. Eyes Wide Shut
2. Lolita
3. Clockwork Orange
4. The Shining
5. Full Metal Jacket
6. Dr Strangelove
7. 2001
haven't seen the rest
Dude once again, great post but like I told you yesterday your image is fucking retarded and does not back up your knowledge
how do so many people think 2001 is his worst film? just because it is widely acclaimed by critics doesn't automatically make it bad
2001 is my least favorite of his films. i don't hate it, i think it's really good, but i just prefer his other films
1. Barry Lyndon
2. 2001
3. Eyes Wide Shut
4. Dr. Strangelove
5. A Clockwork Orange
6. Paths Of Glory
7. The Shining
8. Full Metal Jacket
What are meaning of these differences? I don't get it.

3. Clockwork Orange
4. Dr. Strangelove
5. Eyes Wide Shut
6. The Shining
7. Paths of Glory

Lolita is the only one of Kubrick's films that is awful, barely watchable trash. At least it has some humor.
this is reddit this is memes
I don't get it either. Are these just goofs or are you saying there was some deeper memeing behind it?
>Are these just goofs
No this is a goof
How can you think these are mistakes? Do you think Kubrick accidentally changed that mannuquins clothes?
1. eyes wide shut
2. 2001
3. barry lyndon
4. the shining
5. clockwork orange
6. dr strangelove
7. paths of glory
8. full metal jacket
That's a spoof.
no they're different days aren't they? Figured it'd just be that they changed the manaquin in the story.
I know for a fact that Kubrick considered Eyes Wide Shut his best film
peak kubrick is the cut from that brat bryan lying mortally wounded to his funeral accompanied by sarabande
jesus im wasted
They changed alot of stuff
what did they meme by this?
wot
Spartacus have the most ridiculous haircut Ive ever seen for kirk
he wasn't even finished editing it when he died.
when you finally do watch it, get ready to have this song stuck in your head for days after the movie: youtube.com
Wow, you have them in the right order but backwards.
