SWEDGIN
will Heart finally kill Al?
or will Bullock sacrifice himself to save his friend?
break out the fuckin canned peaches and the authorized cinnamon
I'm genuinely shocked they got so many of the old actors back together for this. This is going to be great.
Is it going to HBO or theaters?
Theaters will be an absolute bomb. No capes and no explosions equal no buger attendance
God damnit it looks like Deadwood allright.
pretty much all of them have wanted to come back since it got cancelled
McShane and Olyphant especially never gave up hope
it's a 2 hour tv movie, essentially acting as a proper season finale to the show
How will a movie ever be enough? I hope this will be 3 hours long. I want more. Just make more. From the trailer alone you can tell that they all still got it. Don't make me wait another ten years.
You know these are real people and you can look up what actually happened to them
I like deadwood but I am not going to see it in a theater. Would rather they did 4 espisodes or something. I though origonal ending was kino. They are going to have an epic shootout now with an explosion at end.
OH YES
blame HBO, Milch had a 5 season plan originally
he had to twist their arm over the course of 10 years to get a 2 hour slot
The Wire's rating were equally as shoddy over the course of it's transmission, yet they let them finish their story
not complaining, I'm glad The Wire got to finish properly, but allowing Deadwood to end how it did was shameful
Fuck now I gotta do a rewatch
He just told you it’s not gonna be in the theater retard
Proper Klondike kino when?
Still would rather they did a shortened season instead.
I feel like the show begins to take a dive after Hearst shows up. I love the characters and the dialogue but the story with Hearst was shit. Maybe because it felt rushed?
Beats playing pickle ball at the senior center.
>2 hours
why is hbo so fucking gay?
What are some good westerns set just before the civil war?
S2 is the weakest imo, there's no clear overarching storyline once Al pops his kidney stone
it's still great, S3 feels like it raises the stakes higher than S1 in a way that feels climactic, or as climactic as Deadwood ever chooses to bring itself
Hearst is fucking great, and fits perfectly in Deadwood imo
youtube.com
GoT changed their business practice
they're no longer about long drawn-out well crafted-story telling
perhaps it was (((a good thing))) True Detective S1 was only 8 episodes
if it's not raking in big viewings then it's not getting more than 3 seasons
would The Sopranos be as popular and be getting as much air time in the 10s as it did in the 00s?
I think HBO was terrible before that though. Look at how they treated Rome and Carnivale too.
hey at least Rome got an ending, a pretty kino one at that
it was way too expensive for the time, and BBC couldn't help fund it at all
I didn't care for Carnivale, o1utside of Clancy Brown I never found any of it or anyone in it interesting
it just turned into a pretty boring soap opera set around the troupe about 7 episodes in and I couldn't wait for it to end
also worth noting whoever HBO's president was that made the decision to cancel Rome said he was in the wrong when he saw the DVD/Bluray sales for it
there may never be on until blood meridian gets made but that could be never or it could be shit because james franco has some kind of involvement with the rights. if i see dave franco playing "the kid" i'm just going to pretend the fucking thing doesn't exist.
I like carnivale a lot but I really love that time period of America.
how do you kiss with a mustache like that?
i dont even remember what happened in the show
YANKTON
>Cy cracked that whore's skull
>The coward Jack McCall killed Wild Bill Hickok
>Hearst brought his nigger cook with him to Deadwood
That's pretty much the most important stuff. Also dem hardware boys opened up a bidness and Tom Nuttall bought a bicycle.
Deadwood worth watching?
ye
You assholes do understand that Deadwood, South Dakota is real and that most of these people really existed, right?
lmao it's just a tv show. Calm down.
Will this help Milch get rid of his 17 million gambling debt at all?
of course
top 3 HBO shows of all time at least
Olyphant recently said he considered not coming back so the whole thing would fall apart
sauce me
>COKSUKKUH!
But surely GoT is their biggest ever money maker and they are still fucking that over with rushed 6 episode final season
Well they know they have people hooked and millions are going to watch regardless so they can cheap out and rake in more cash for themselves.
and they did the same with Boardwalk, maybe they're just arrogant and incompetent at this point
damn well I got my sources wrong, still love the guy regardless
Boardwalk was hamstrung by the ADD people not liking how slow it was and Winter wanting to move onto Vinyl as well though.
SOMEBODY FUCKING SHOT JOHNNY
Olyphant is pure Kino. Why isnt he in more things?
The show takes a lot of liberties with the characters and events, though.
Is that Wyatt Earp?
>no WU
In the trash it goes.
Must've blinked the first time.
iirc they used this song everytime major events were about to take place in the camp:
youtube.com
Would be a nice nod, if they manage to fit it in right.
No, that's the man who ran Wyatt Earp out of town like a little bitch.
That always did seem to herald major events. I remember it played when Wild Bill was shot and that Mexican brought in the indian head.
so is Merrick going to be in this? Jeffrey Jones is listed on imdb, but I didn't see him in the trailer.
No this is Wyatt Earp in Deadwood.
Kawkasucka
did Mo from Smart Guy make it back alive?
>Cy destroys gold stones, has head chopped off by Hearst
>10 years pass, Bullock now has daughter. Calamity Jane gets fat
>Dan comes back from being in Tombstone or some shit
>Comes up with whoring idea
>Travel back, get whores, Trixie dies for being whore
>Come back, Sweargen uses half price pussy and brings back everyone
>Unfortunately Hearst comes back with him
>Le big epic shootout scene
>Bullock picks up Wild Bill's Gun
>Woke girl power scene
>Bullock snaps Hearts neck
>Bullock dies
>Dan goes back to Tombstone to put back whores, stays there and smashes major puss
>Cochran gives gun to new sheriff Sol
>Sweargen fucks off to china with Wu
>Credits
W. Earl Brown said that all living cast members are back so I'd assume so. He's not in the trailer but neither is Dillahunt.
wait, Dillahunt is back playing a 3rd character?
MY BICYCLE MASTERS BOARDWALK AND QUAGMIRE WITH APLOMB
THOSE WHO DOUBT ME SUCK COCK BY CHOICE
That would be hilarious. I think the other user just forgot Walcott died, though.
I didn't realize he is also battling alzheimer's, pretty sad end desu
Why did Al suddenly hate Hawkeye so much after S1?
better question is why is Silus so fucking based?
youtube.com
fucking sweet, thanks dude.
No he's actually coming back as a third character, it might be more of a cameo though but he's definitely coming back.
Holy shit that Robert Duvall is just too much.
Has there ever, in the history of television, been a good final episode/movie that came out many years after the show initially stopped filming?

You're welcome ;)
Well great I already don't recognize him.
twin peaks
holy shit, that's awesome
interesting part is, Milch has said the way he justified casting Dillahunt twice because the characters he played both shared a proclivity for murder. Their facial similarity is because of this spiritual connection.
Hopefully his Alzheimers doesn't remove that memory because I want Dillahunt's new character to have the same connection.
I don't think we ever got to see the Pinkertons in action during the show. I wanted to see the embodiment of what All was so afraid of. Too bad that never went anywhere.
but we did
youtube.com
There better not be any fucking unauthorized cinnamon on the cocksucking table, jewel!
Shit, completely slipped my mind. I might rewatch it before watching the movie.
Pinkertons were savages
Why would South Dakota give a duck about Hearst, even if he became a senator from another state? Fuck that piefaced cocksucker.
>12 year time jump
neat!
will Swedgenposting make a cocksucking comeback?
You just know calamity Jane had a dirty dirty asshole.
We also saw them in S3 when Hearst hires dozens of them to come stir up trouble and bring the town to heel. That was the literal realization of Al's fears.
Is it too late to start a rewatch?
ye
>protagonist braves the bitter cold, finds nothing, then fucking dies
Real compelling
Course not, I've just started S2
This x100
One thing that always kinda stumped me:
Isn't Al's entire operation essentially just two (later three) guys? Sure, he's a badass and so is Dan, but why does he have so much power when there's really no gang to speak of backing him?
It's only been 13 years. What the fuck happened to these guys?
They're 50 and almost 60 now, man, that kinda age shows.
I think it's implied he has other people out there, like in the first season when the road agents that murder the squarehead family are his employees.
holy shit they even got EB and the fucking doc
LET'S FUCKING GO BROS
HELL YES
only watched Deadwood once years ago so i have this baby in the oven to binge just after the movie.
Yeah, but I didn't really get the sense that Persimmon Phil and his boys were really part of Al's crew, they were independent operators who paid him a cut and took instruction from him while working in his territory.
You basically never see anyone other than Dan, Johnny and then Silas working for him on a regular basis. Only exception is when he sends out for men to fight Hearst and the Pinkertons. It's kinda weird.
*just before the movie
I was just about to reply
he's too based for hollywood
Is Santa Clarita diet any good?
Is that Leon the opium addict in the noose?
i still can't get over his weird walk. Handsome lad though
No.
Olyphant is good in it, but the show sucks cock.
>Nic Pizzolatto revealed in December 2018 that he had helped Milch write the screenplay.
It's gonna be shit, right?
Why a movie and not S3 when everything is getting revived on Netflix?
>Alma now sounds like a Southern Belle.
WTF?
Caspere knew this
does he walk that way in real life?
reminds of the girl on seinfeld who didn't move her arms when walking.
>swedgin
>diz town
>dem cocksuckas
>mmmmh
>seh bullok
>time is a flat fuckin circle, Al
>be in your thirties
>13 years pass
>be almost fifty
WHAT THE FUCK?!
You probably won't hear half of her whispering anyways
*grabs your ear*
>Doc Cochran is still alive
that's fucking retarded
way to prioritize fanservice you hoopleheads
>hey doc, I thought you were dead
>nope, just needed some water
B R A V O M I L C H
Is Johnny having a subplot with the little one or some random whore? The little squarehead girl probably moved out of camp with whatsherface Mrs. Elsworth and won't be in the movie.
lmao is jason isbell in deadwood
Great seeing the old cast thoght I cant believe how old some of them look now. Swearengen hasn't really changed at least
He had pull with gunfighters in cheyenne
Yeah he’s playing a musician. It was in rolling stone.
Still though, half a dozen guys could roll right through the Gem and blow him away at any time.
watch one episode per day until it airs, then watch a five hour marathon that includes the movie
What even happened in season two except nigger guy getting kicked in the head, nutall buying a bicycle and the bullock boy getting trampeled? I feel like everything I remember from the show is either season 1 or season 3 stuff.
>then watch a five hour marathon that includes the movie
I don't really think this is necessary given the huge time skip in between S3 and the film.
s2 is basically s3: prelude
Al was the defacto mayor.
They never would have made it out of deadwood alive.
Carnivale had a cult following, not enough to justify their budget. And Knauf was still offered a movie to wrap up.I'm glad he passed on the offer but the thing is, these shows cost a lot.
Al's kidney stones, Joanie and Wolcott, Miss Isringhausen, Wu and the San Fransisco cocksucker, the commissioner from Yankton, Alma and Ellsworth get married, Andy vs Tolliver
Pretty much this, but a lot of stuff does happen
I thought it was ok/meh
it just got canceled today btw
>They never would have made it out of deadwood alive.
Why? Who would have stopped them if they also killed Dan and Johnny?
bullock
Really though? Especially before he became sheriff
Sophia is in the movie
Trixie and the whores
good band name
oh that’s just superstition
Live In Wyoming and go to deadwood a few times a year to party. It’s still pretty wild.
>fucking doc
So based he survived being a lunger.
based
I will get a bottle of four roses for this event. I've never even had it but I've heard it's decent.
I'm planning to watch this for the first time twice, because im planning on not remembering the first time.
>I will get a bottle of four roses for this event. I've never even had it but I've heard it's decent.
It's okay, get the small batch though.
Bullock 50
Saul 59
Swearengen 76
I'll 'motherfuck' you... and blow your fucking head off.
>al has all of his fingers
Milch is getting sloppy
>al has all of his fingers
>doc survived TB somehow
>alma is southern now
>only two hours
>plot is just round two of town vs hearst
this is going to be complete shit isn't it
Cy's actor is dead, man.
Dragging that fucking leg...every day an adventure.
I'm pretty sure he's joking
I watched the trailer and all I could think about was how much it btfo Mark Hammal. This is a boomer reunion done rightwise.
damn, johnny looking old as fuck there
the psycho evaluating the town was the theme
Meanwhile dogshit like Problem Areas somehow gets a second season
didn't notice until you mentioned but that really is stupid, how could they have overlooked something so obvious?
He s just lazy
I'm not sure we get a good enough look at his left to see he has more than a stump there
I can't believe it's actually happening bros. I almost don't want it to happen, that's how unbelievable this is.
>allowing Deadwood to end how it did was shameful
It was as rushed as the end of Carnivàle.
It's really remarkable
They got lucky that they filmed on a dedicated Western set so they didn't have to construct the entire town again. It's amazing all their schedules could work to make the show too, think about how many possible remakes were called off because the cast just couldn't or didn't want to get together. It's a real testament to how much the cast really cared about the show that they would take time out of their careers to come back and make this. And good on HBO for letting them do it, I think now they see what a mistake they made by canceling it
The most important question: will Garret Dillahunt have a cameo?
He aged a lot after getting arrested for kidnapping that woman and her child
That's apparently already confirmed.
Damn I missed the post. Thanks.
he died in the finale, stabbed in the thigh. cy did him
I think the biggest alteration on the show is Charlie Utter. The real Charlie Utter was a "dandy" for the time. He was very finicky and vain. He had long blond hair that made him very popular with women and he bathed everyday, which was almost unheard of in the time period.
I honestly don't know why Milch made him a disheveled, bald, dirty, ugly man. Not to say that Dayton Callie didn't put forth a fantastic performance
>after watching deadwood for about a weekafterwords I would throw out cocksucker like a coma and spoke in an overly verbose fashion
anyone else autistic like me? I did the same thing after the wire(ebonics or as I like to call it niggaspeak) and sopranos(ayy, gobagul of heya, dropping the final syllable off of random food items)
I still point with my index and pinky finger like Paulie and after watching The Wire I used to spit through my teeth like Bodie. Little mannerisms like that I always pick up on
is the kino king returning?
The real season 2 takes place between actual season 1 and season 2, when the Nigger General originally come over winter. Al digs a lost caravan out of the snow with his hands.
It's because he acts as HBO, as The Jew, as the Invisible Hand, and crushes his own kind and all you hold dear. Now you embrace him with open arms for the sake of "recreational marijuana". Invalidating the claims while turning over title to friends and relatives. FACT!!!
First person to notice, no one responds. I also see this. He never learned to act, flinching before the squib in his shoulder goes off.
hell be fine
They wanted to slowly build up Hearst coming to the camp but they knew before season 3 was written that they would have to rush it.
It's a shame because I honestly think that Gerald McRaney is one of the finest actors on the show, he had a real intensity and that could have been a far better character. Interesting that the scene with him and Langrishe where Langrishe gives him a massage was supposed to be a longer storyline with John D. Rockefeller's father moving to Deadwood. Rockefeller's father was a notorious conman who traveled the old West and one of his cons was pretending to be a chiropractor, and this was a huge embarrassment to Rockefeller. That would have been an interesting character if Milch could have fit it in.
Interesting that Johnny shot Sol in almost the exact same place in Season 2
His Bible bore his name
>that man's overplaying his hand
>in short you've overplayed your hand
>?
I do this too. Happens with reading books too.
>He never learned to act, flinching before the squib in his shoulder goes off.
That blood is clearly CGI, stupid
>he thinks The Return is the finale
Sounds like bullshit, I just saw an old article on Hollywood Reporter where he claimed Milch helped write True Detective.
youtube.com
5:57 is priceless
Who has dominion over nature? Albert Swearengen, owner and proprietor. I'm not learning another Doc's fucking quirks.
Pay attention, this was decided long ago.
Yes. Have you abiding affection for Deadwood? He will assay it, and once its crucial vein is discovered, he will empty it out.
Milch was teaching at Yale when he met Rita Stern, an undergraduate 10 years his junior. David had graduated summa cum laude and then attended the University of Iowa writing program, after which he went to Yale Law School. He was expelled from there for reasons that remain something of a mystery but that involved gunshots, LSD and a police car, according to The New Yorker and other publications.
Boy I just fucking love when the trailer reveals the entire plot. Let me guess, they stop Hurst, but a few people die before that happens?
Wow, you're such genius for figuring that out. You even the name of the characters!
Hearst shoots a giant laser into the sky that opens a portal to Yankton and snaps his fingers to erect telephone poles in Deadwood
Al and Seth must put together a team to stop him
I wonder how much of Melody Ranch has to continuously be redressed between movies and series. Westworld did a lot of work on the saloon interior to brighten it up between the wallpaper and the additional (out of shot) lighting fixtures and Deadwood's saloon is more drab.
Why does every idiot always spell it "Hurst"? He's the father of one of the most famous men of the 20th Century, the name is fucking George HEARST goddamnit
She looks rank but remember the way she made money for her escapades was whoring, and she cleaned up surprisingly well for that.
>maybe they're just arrogant and incompetent at this point
Different people running HBO now than then. Seriously Westworld is probably the only reason they aren't trying to revive DW as a series.
some people survived turbuculosis. and he was a pretty good doctor so it's not inconcievable
all the women back then looked like men. it's tragic. watched ken burns gold rush documentary and was horrified
Finally, Milch can pay down his gambling debts.
>mcshane says it's "okay"
If one of the main actors says it's okay that means it's going to suck
