This used to be my biggest fear at my job. Just losing the job. The place I worked at was a hell hole, but I had a job so losing it would be the worst thing in the world.
I was managing a team of 30 odd people. The management was insanely incompetent. Working with food products that started to get contaminated with metal, rust from the huge oven it went in. I was expected to sign forms saying food was fine, our metal detectors are working blah blah blah. I started refusing to sign off. They did not care. Got to the point where I could be held liable for some kid choking to death on metal. Had a panic attack about quitting the job. Quit it anyway. Fucking best decision of my life. Getting fired or quitting is never nearly as bad as you imagine it. Working in a hell hole is.
