I thought it was a fucking meme

i thought it was a fucking meme
ive been going to movies for my entire life and ive only ever heard someone clap once and it was for titanic

but holy shit there was an autist in my theater trying to get a clap going every other fucking dramatic scene.
everytime something interesting happened, or a character brought forth an ending to their arcs he would clap like a seal to get everyone going with him
( he succeeded just once when cap took up the hammer and started going medieval on thanos )
he just kept fucking trying. why the fuck would you do this. i could almost forgive it if it was at the end of the movie. even if theres no one there to hear your praise at least your not ruining the movie for everyoen. but when a dramatic built up scene is taking place and suddenyl from the back row you hear "*clap *clap *clap wooooo!" it tends to lessen the affect the scene has

maybe you should have clapped with him you fucking autistic neckbeard. you're really going to get down on someone for trying to have human interactions? he was probably just trying to swat the flies that followed your stinky ass into the theater

>it's a "user can't understand people enjoying things and expressing emotions" episode

Why do people clap at all at the theaters the people who made the movie aren't there to hear it. Am I autistic or are they?

I actually told some autist to shut the fuck up. I'm normally apprehensive to start shit in public because you never know who you're talking to but then I realize there isn't a single person who yells at the screen during a marvel movie that could kick my ass. Turned out it was an obese chinese neckbeard so I felt vindicated.

They think these are a communal experience and they need to let everyone around them know how much they're enjoying it. They unironically think they're the centre of the universe and people are amused some faggot is yelling "Aww yeah" when something badass happens.

>american cinema going experience
lmao @ u

Fuck you user, I do stuff like this because I'm lonely. I do this in every film I go to because I'm just trying to make friends, I'm not a big film fan.

Us Americans are a bizarre, superstitious lot.

It all goes back to our spiritual roots where it was believed clapping pushed away wicked energies, thus saving the target from sinister forces. As celebrities have taken the place of patron saints and heroes, Americans honor this tradition by mass protective rites

I don't want to say it's acceptable, but I think the behavior is understandable within certain circumstances. If you go to Endgame opening night at an Alamo Drafthouse, you're essentially going to a fan meet-up, when the crowd energy is part of the experience. So you should know what you signed up for.

Yep, same shit happened to me when I saw TFA. Anytime they'd do a callback to the OT this fucking boomer next to me would shout WOOWOOWOO, then when Leia showed up he was like "OH MY FUCKING GOD NO WAY!" Like all the memories of him jerking off to her in the 70s came flooding back, At that point his wife tried calming down, then some guy across the theater started having a WOO contest with him seeing who could shout it the loudest.

i just got back from Endgame and you are right. My theater was filled with clapcucks. Every dramatic scene the same people would clap. I was largely enjoying the movie but these claps took me out of the experience. Even though the theater was dark, I could just picture their pimply, pale, fat, soft faces just from hearing their over-exaggerated laughs at every quip. It honestly made me examine myself and I was ashamed to be a grown man watching a movie about talking raccoons fighting purple aliens - and people were actually crying in the theater over these manufactured emotions. The only positive thing was that nobody clapped during the big feminist girl-power moment at the end, it was so ham-handed and blatant, it came across as cringy and nobody clapped even though it was clearly designed to be an applause moment

>I'm just trying to make friends
d-does it work?

People clapped cheered and stuff a bunch of time at my screening of endgame

kek, i hope to be a boomer with no fucks given when I'm older to ruin disney trash for basedlads

There was an unironic YASSS QUEEN and a bunch of autistic screeching from some kid behind me all fucking night. He looked retarded so I'll give him a pass.

It's fucking annoying. I can understand clapping as the credits roll but clapping during the movie is fucking stupid. It's like when people clap after a solo during a jazz piece, why the fuck can't people wait until the end to show their appreciation?

Its infinitely worse, because at least the performer is there to hear your applause. Clapping during a movie is just virtue signalling to the other neckbeards that Captain America punching someone made you hard and that you're one of them.

Aussie here, the only times the cinema clapped was when captain america picked up the hammer and when the movie ended.

that hammer scene was pretty great though,

Not to gay this thread but...oh god it';s Amanda Becker.

I feel your pain. I live in a mostly republican Kansas town and even there were autists clapping and laughing at every joke in the film. Maybe I'm just not into the MCU as everyone else but it was so obnoxious. I bet there were almost 10 people clapping when Captain America grabs Mjolnir more people clapped for this scene than when the credits rolled.

Yeah I clapped along, shit was dope.

Based. Hopefully he now understands he brought great dishonor to his ancestors by acting like that in public.

spotted the retard who claps at everything

your fault for watching capeshit op
