THE MCU THAT COULD HAVE BEEN

Now that AVENGERS: ENDGAME is wrapping everything up, let's take a look back on the road so far.

Iron Man (2008)

>Several directors turned down the project, believing it would flop, before Jon Favreau was hired. Louis Leterrier was also interested, and subsequently directed THE INCREDIBLE HULK.

>Timothy Olyphant, Sam Rockwell and Clive Owen auditioned for Tony Stark before Robert Downey Jr. was cast.

>Rachel McAdams was approached for Pepper Potts before Gwyneth Paltrow was cast.

>Early drafts featured Obadiah Stane only as Stark's estranged mentor. His descent into villainy would be explored over a trilogy.

>Early drafts featured the Mandarin as a corrupt Chinese businessman who led the 10 Rings and created the Crimson Dynamo armor to fight Iron Man, before Jon Favreau decided to build up to him in a trilogy instead of Stane.

>In early drafts, Stark would fight Stane in the prototype Mark IV armor, which includes a shoulder-mounted gattling gun and would later become the War Machine armor.

>In early drafts, Stark would throw Stane into a vat of acid rather than have him caught in an explosion. When the armor is retrieved, Stane's body is gone, indicating he might have survived.

>The movie was filmed mostly without a script, with actors ad-libbing most of their lines based on production guidelines. Production was so chaotic that both the cast and the producers expected the movie to be a disaster until test-screenings reported surprisingly positive audience reception.

The Incredible Hulk (2008)

>Mark Ruffalo was director Louis Leterrier's original choice for Bruce Banner, but the studio favored Edward Norton.

>Norton declined at first, and only agreed on the condition that he could revise the script and that all of his contributions would be filmed. Most ended up being cut after poor reception at test-screenings. Norton clashed with Leterrier and the producers throughout production.

>Norton was a fan of THE WIRE and added a subplot about a man played by Michael K. Williams, who reaches out to the Hulk during the Battle of Harlem to stop the destruction. The subplot was almost entirely cut and Williams' role reduced to a cameo.

>Norton also added an extended comedic sequence where Banner interacts with a computer geek while trying to retrieve data from Culver University. Seth Rogen, Jonah Hill and Jason Segel, among others, were approached for the geek before the scene was scrapped and the geek reduced to a cameo, played by Martin Starr.

>Stan Lee would originally cameo as the captain of the USS Excelsior, a fishing boat that Banner and Betty Ross hire to take them to Manhattan.

>In early cuts, the Hulk decapitates the Abomination. This was changed due to poor reception at test-screenings.

>In later cuts, the Abomination would be locked up in The Vault, a meta-human prison developed by Tony Stark, but the scene was scrapped in favor of Stark’s meeting with Ross about the Avengers Initiative.

>Hulk was envisioned as the main villain of THE AVENGERS at the time, hence the ending were Banner flashes a sinister smile as he begins to transform again.

>Leterrier pitched a cameo appearance by Tobey Maguire as Peter Parker, bumping into Banner at Empire State University, but Sony Pictures rejected the idea.

>Ray Stevenson auditioned for Emil Blonsky before Tim Roth was cast.

Iron Man 2 (2010)

>Jon Favreau planned to adapt the "Demon in a Bottle" storyline, but the studio felt it was too dark.

>Early drafts featured Justin Hammer as the main villain, manipulating brothers Ivan Vanko and Boris Bullsky into targeting Tony Stark in order to steal the Iron Man technology. Vanko would die during a fight with Stark in Monaco, and Bullsky would become the Titanium Man to avenge him. Further revisions made Vanko into the main villain and reduced Hammer to a supporting role.

>Mickey Rourke created an elaborate backstory for Vanko to make him a more sympathetic character, but most of these scenes were cut to streamline the narrative. Rourke was displease and disowned the movie, swearing never to work with Marvel again.

>Early cuts featured mutual sexual tension between Stark and Black Widow, which was scrapped as test-audiences felt it undermined his relationship with Pepper.

>Early cuts featured an ending where Vanko forces Stark to surrender to him by kidnapping Pepper and is killed by War Machine with the ex-wife missile, which was scrapped as test-audiences felt it lacked action and stakes.

>Emily Blunt was cast as Black Widow, but dropped out due to scheduling conflicts and was replaced by Scarlett Johansson.

>Al Pacino was approached to play Hammer before the character was reinvented and Sam Rockwell, who had originally auditioned for Bullsky, was cast.

>The cast once again ad-libbed most of their dialogue. Favreau was unhappy with the movie, believing that the rushed production schedule that didn't allow him to refine the script as much as he wanted, and declined to return for IRON MAN 3.

They should have followed the comic book and have Stane seppuku to avoid being captured after IM defeated him.

Thor (2011)

>Matthew Vaughn and Guillermo Del Toro were approached to direct before Kenneth Branagh was hired.

>The first draft of the script was a dark epic set in the Viking Age and modeled after THE LORD OF RINGS, but was scrapped for being borderline unfilmable in terms of budget.

>Liam Hemsworth, Charlie Hunnam, Joel Kinnaman, Alexander Skarsgard and Tom Hiddleston auditoned for Thor before Chris Hemsworth was cast. Hiddleston impressed the studio and was offered the role of Loki.

>Josh Hartnett and Charlie Cox auditioned for Loki before Hiddleston was cast.

>Brian Blessed and Mel Gibson were approached for Odin before Anthony Hopkins was cast.

>Jessica Biel and Diora Baird auditoned for Lady Sif before Jamie Alexander was cast.

>Alexander Townsend was originally cast as Fandral, but was fired due to his erractic behavior. Zachary Levi was approached to replace him before Josh Dallas was cast.

>Louis Leterrier volunteered to direct the movie, but the studio favored Joe Johnston.

>Joss Whedon revised the script after signing on for THE AVENGERS.

>Early drafts featured Baron Heinrich Zemo and Baron Wolfgang Von Strucker in supporting roles as high-ranking members of Hydra, but the writers believed they should be saved for more prominent roles in future movies.

>In early drafts, the S.H.I.E.L.D. agent masquerading as a SSR officer who accidentally tips off Rogers that something is wrong after he's thawed out is revealed to be Sharon Carter.

>Channing Tatum, John Krasinski, Garrett Hedlund, Scott Porter, Mike Vogel, Michael Cassidy, Wilson Bethel, Chace Crowford, Patrick John Flueger, Robert Buckley, Jensen Ackles and Sebastian Stan auditoned for Steve Rogers before Chris Evans was cast. >Thomas Kretschmann auditioned for Red Skull before Hugo Weaving was cast. He'd later play Baron Wolfgang von Strucker in AVENGERS: AGE OF ULTRON.

>Evans was initially reluctant to join due to the nine-picture contract offered by the studio, but agreed once it was reduced to a six movie contract.

>Early drafts featured Obadiah Stane only as Stark's estranged mentor. His descent into villainy would be explored over a trilogy.

>In early drafts, Stark would throw Stane into a vat of acid rather than have him caught in an explosion. When the armor is retrieved, Stane's body is gone, indicating he might have survived.

These are both much better ideas than what we got. The original Iron Man is really good up until the third act where they pull a Villian out of their ass and rush the entire ending. And then they kill off the best Villian they’ve had in the entire franchise, Jeff Bridges killed it as Obadiah and had so much more potential
>TONY STARK WAS ABLE TO BUILD THIS IN A CAVE!
Iron Man was so much better than the others because (among other things) it felt grounded in reality and very personal. Should had a slow burn trilogy with Obadiah slowly becoming a super villain with the Mandirin being the more immediate threat.

The Avengers (2012)

>Jon Favreau and Joe Carnahan were approached to direct before Joss Whedon was hired. Louis Leterrier volunteered, but was turned down.

>Zak Penn wrote the original script, which he revised multiple times to accomodate developments from other movies, but Whedon decide to write a new draft when he signed on for the movie.

>Penn's script featured the Avengers being assembled by SHIELD to fight Hulk, who had been brainwashed by Loki, before they join forces to defend the Earth from an invasion of the Frost Giants.

>Penn's draft introduced Thor and Loki, as there were discussions to scrap his standalone movie and reduce his role in the MCU for being too tonally clashing with the other Earth-bound, science-based heroes.

>Whedon created the concept of Thanos being Loki's benefactor as part of a greater plan.

>Early drafts featured Ant-Man and the Wasp, who were removed when ANT-MAN was delayed. Whedon also had plans for Ultron and the Skrulls that were ultimately scrapped.

>In early cuts, Iron Man would be revived by Thor's lightning after falling from the wormhole. Robert Downey Jr. and Mark Ruffalo improvised Iron Man being awakened by the Hulk's roar.

>Robert Downey Jr. ad-libbed most of his dialogue.

>After Edward Norton's departure, David Duchovny was approached for Bruce Banner before Mark Ruffalo was cast.

>Jensen Ackles was approached for Hawkeye before Jeremy Renner was cast.

>Morena Baccarin and Mary Elizabeth Winstead auditioned for Maria Hill before Cobie Smulders was cast.

>The movie was originally rated "R" for the scene where Phil Coulson is killed by Loki. To ensure the PG-13 rating, the blood was digitally erased, the stabbing was shortened and a reaction shot of Thor was added to break the continuous sequence of Coulson being stabbed and collapsing on the floor.

>There were plans to tie into THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN by featuring OsCorp Tower in New York City's skyline, but a deal with Sony could not be reached in time.

Dark epic LOTR style Thor films set in the Viking age sounds kino

Iron Man 3 (2013)

>Tom Hooper was approached to direct before Shane Black was hired at Robert Downey Jr.'s behest.

>The Mandarin was envisioned as the main villain before Black pitched the concept of the him being a smokescreen for the real villain.

>Maya Hansen was envisioned as the real villain, but producer Ike Perlmutter didn't believe a female villain would be profitable and made Aldrich Killian into the real villain instead.

>Black's first draft for the movie was rated R and featured a subplot where Killian uses Extremis-enhanced pheromones to seduce Pepper, record their sexual encounter and broadcast it nationwide to taunt Stark.

>Early drafts featured Stark joining forces with Dr. Chen Wu, a scientist whose family was kidnapped by the 10 Rings, to stop the Mandarin, but the concept was scrapped.

>Early drafts featured a subplot about China producing their own Iron Man from stolen Starktech, leading to political tensions that the Mandarin would exploit to his benefit.

>Jessica Chastain was originally cast as Maya Hansen, but dropped out due to scheduling conflicts. Gemma Arterton, Isla Fisher and Diane Kruger auditioned before Rebecca Hall was cast.

>Andy Lau was originally cast as Dr. Chen Wu, but dropped out due to creative differences and was replaced by Wang Xueqi and the role was severely reduced.

>Jude Law was approached to play Killian before Guy Pearce was cast.

>Anthony Mackie auditioned for Eric Savin before James Badge Dale was cast. He'd later play the Falcon.

>IRON MAN 3 was the last movie in Robert Downey Jr.'s original four-picture contract, and was written as a definitive end for the character should Downey Jr. not renegotiate to play the character in further installments.

Attached: 7.jpg (664x984, 327K)

Thor: The Dark World (2013)

>Patty Jenkins was approached to direct the movie at Natalie Portman's behest, but dropped out due to creative differences, and was replaced by Alan Taylor. Portman was reportedly upset and didn't want to return to the movie, but was contractually forced to do so.

>Jenkins's version was an "intergalactic ROMEO & JULIET" centered on Thor and Jane Foster's estrangement and Odin'd disapproval of their relationship, and would've featured Hela as the main villain.

>Taylor clashed with the studio as he wanted a darker and edgier movie than they were comfortable with. The script was revised multiple times during filming, leading to numerous subplots being scrapped.

>In early drafts, Malekith had a more sympathetic backstory, wanting revenge for the death of his family at the hands of Thor's grandfather, Bors, but the concept was scrapped.

>Early drafts featured a minor role for Loki that was expanded due to the character's newfound popularity after THE AVENGERS, including a new ending where Loki usurps the thone of Asgard rather than genuinely sacrificing himself for Thor in the Dark World.

>Early drafts featured a larger role for Lady Sif, exploring her romantic feelings for Thor, but this subplot was cut after Jamie Alexander injured herself on set.

>Early drafts also included larger roles for Asgardian commander Tyr and Jane Foster's suitor Richard, and also included the Valkyrie and the Enchantress.

>Mads Mikkselsen was originally cast as Malekith, but dropped out due to scheduling conflicts and was replaced by Christopher Eccleston. He'd later play Kaecilius.

God damn it why didn't she take the role???

>Emily Blunt as Black Widow

Fuck me.

Captain America: The Winter Soldier (2014)

>F. Gary Gray and George Nolfi were approached to direct before Joe & Anthony Russo were hired.

>Early drafts featured Sharon Carter as Captain America's partner, but revisions replaced her for Black Widow.

>Early drafts featured Richard Rider joining the Nova Corps and developing a feud turned friendship with Star-Lord, but Gunn scrapped the concept in order to streamline the narrative.

>Early drafts featured Bug as a member of the team; appearances by Adam Warlock and ROM; and included the Badoon as Ronan's army and the Spartoi as the Krees' lifelong enemies.

>Early cuts featured ELO's "Living Thing" and Norman Greenbaum's "Spirit in the Sky".

>Early cuts featured Stan Lee as one of the items in the Collector's inventory, but it was cut for being too meta.

>Joel Edgerton, Eddie Redmayne, Jensen Ackles, Jack Huston, Cam Gigandet, Sullivan Stapleton, Logan Marshall-Green, Garrett Hedlund, Chris Lowell, James Marsden, Jim Sturgess, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Aaron Paul, Michael Rosenbaum, Wes Bentley, John Krasinski, Lee Pace and Glenn Howerton auditioned for Star-Lord before Chris Pratt was cast.

Adam Sandler lel

okay, let's clarify something. im in the movie industry and shot a mediocre film last year that got dud reviews this year at Sundance and Rotterdam. we shot most of it without hard dialogue.

how the fuck do you successfully do it without editing tons of jump cuts? i dont get it. the actors need to be good enough, sure, but the whole thing ends up collapsing into a mallick-esque mumblecore fart without tension.

Avengers: Age of Ultron (2015)

>Production was troubled due to creative disagreements between Joss Whedon and the studio.

>In early drafts, Ultron was modeled after Tony Stark's brain patterns, but the concept was scrapped.

>Early drafts also featured Abomination as Ultron's enforcer; Captain Marvel and Spider-Man as recruits for the New Avengers; Ultron invading Wakanda to steal Vibranium; and the Ultron drones combining to form a skyscrapper-sized Ultron for the final battle.

>Marvel originally planned to pair Black Widow and Hawkeye together, but Whedon preferred her with Bruce Banner.

>In early cuts, Banner would ultimately reject Black Widow, and she would trigger his transformation into the Hulk by lying about having never truly loved him.

>In early cuts, Thor's vision ended with Loki appearing to discuss the impending apocalypse, but this was cut as test-audiences mistakenly assumed it meant Loki was behind Ultron's sentiency.

>Whedon included Thor's investigation into the Infinity Stones at the behest of the studio, in exchange for keeping the visions and Hawkeye's farmhouse, which were both nearly cut. Test-audiences responded negatively, however, and it was almost entirely cut from the movie.

>Wright's draft featured Scott Lang as a petty crook who's been arrested several times; Hank Pym as a mad scientist driven by ego; a love triangle between Scott, his ex-wife Maggie and his childhood friend Paxton; Darren Cross becoming the Nano Warrior; and minor roles for Hope Van Dyne and Scott's crew, which was comprised by eight criminals.

>Reed's revisions added Yellowjacket; the Quantum Realm; Hope, Luis, Kurt and Dave being prominent characters; Maggie and Paxton being minor characters; and Scott fighting the Falcon.

that sex thing sounds goofy as fuck

They weren't flying blind either. They knew what each scene had to convey and just let the cast figure out how to get there, working off base-dialogue they were provided beforehand.

Is that the original poster? Holy shit it's awful.

yep, it does

When the deal between Marvel Studios and Sony Pictures initially failed, T'Challa's role was expanded, including his transformation into Black Panther. Marvel and Sony later reached an agreement and Spider-Man was reinserted in the script in a smaller role.

>Producers initially feared that Giant-Man wouldn't be taken seriously by the audienced and demanded him to be removed from the script. An alternative version featured the Scarlet Witch telekinetically blowing up an underground pipeline to create a diversion for Captain America and Winter Soldier to escape, but the Russos were ultimately able to convince the studio to have Giant-Man in the movie.

>Marvel Entertainment CEO Ike Perlmutter refused to pay Robert Downey Jr's salary, reducing Iron Man to a brief appearance. Downey Jr. lobbied for a larger role and was backed by producer Kevin Feige, leading to a conflict that ended with Marvel Studios splitting off from Marvel Entertainment and Perlmutter being reassigned to the television department while Feige had complete creative control over the movies.

test audiences are fucking assholes

Test-audiences responded negatively to Odin's death and the scene was scrapped in favor of Odin sharing a tender moment with his sons and meeting a dignified end in the fjords of Norway.

>In early cuts, Thor and Valkyrie would remininsce about their first encounter in a "1980's Asgard" with Asgardians wearing "shoulder pads and Farrah Fawcetts". Young Thor would've been an acne-ridden chubby outcast, while Loki would've been an emo goth listening to "Asgardian death metal".

>In early drafts Captain America, Black Widow and Falcon are introduced preventing terrorists from obtaining nuclear weapons. Sharon Carter would be operating as the team’s liaison and be in a relationship with Captain America.

>Early drafts featured the Hulk bursting out of the Hulkbuster and joining the battle. This was scrapped to give Banner a victory entirely his own. It happened so late into production that toys and artworks of the scene had already been produced.

>Early drafts addressed the failed relationship between Banner and Black Widow.

>Spider-Man was absent in some drafts, with Falcon being the one who accompanies Iron Man and Doctor Strange to Titan.

>Captain Marvel was present in some drafts, meeting with the group on Titan while following Thanos’ trail of destruction. She would survive alongside Iron Man and Nebula.

>Originally Star-Lord wouldn't pull the trigger on Gamora, but Chris Pratt insisted that he should.

>There are alternative endings where different characters die, such as Banner, while others survive, such as Scarlet Witch.

>Both Ghost and Sonny Burch were more villainous in earlier drafts.

>Early drafts featured flashback segments of Bill Foster using the Goliath suit.

>Early drafts featured an alternative third act where monsters from the Quantum Realm escape into the world and begin wreaking havoc. One would damage the Golden Gate Bridge, forcing Ant-Man, in his giant form, to use his arm as a ramp for cars to drive over and reach safety.

Captain Marvel (2019)

>Reed Morano, Niki Caro, Elizabeth Wood, Emily Carmichael, Jennifer Kent, Rebecca Thomas, Rachel Talalay, Jennifer Yuh Nelson, Leslie Linka Glatter and Lorene Scafario were approached to direct before Anna Boden & Ryan Fleck were hired.

>Although Brie Larson was always the studio’s choice for Carol Danvers, Yvonne Strahovski, Kathryn Winnick, Blake Lively and Evan Rachel Wood, among others, were also considered.

>DeWanda Wise was originally cast as Maria Rambeau, but dropped out due to scheduling conflicts and was replaced by Lashana Lynch. Gugu Mbatha-Raw was also considered.

>Keanu Reeves was originally cast as Yon-Rogg, but dropped out due to scheduling conflicts and was replaced by Jude Law.

>Early drafts featured Helen Cobb, a veteran pilot and Carol’s mentor at the Air Force.

>Early drafts featured the Sentries, giant robots controlled by Ronan that Carol would have fought to protect Earth.

>Minn-Erva originally had a bigger role, exploring her rivalry with Carol and her resentment at being spurned as Yon-Rogg's favorite because of her.

>Mar-Vell was originally a man who masquerades as Dr. Walter Lawson and recruit Carol to test the Tesseract-powered lightspeed engine. Believing both Mar-Vell and Helen Cobb felt superfluous to the narrative, the writers decided to merge them into one.

>Early cuts feature an extended confrontation between Carol and the Supreme Intelligence at Mar-Vell’s ship.

>A deleted scene features Yon-Rogg meeting the Supreme Intelligence and seeing it as the thing he admires the most: Himself.

>An alternative post-credits scene features Yon-Rogg getting stranded in Sakaar.

Jesus fuck, Thor's movie ideas sound kino as fuck and instead we got bland action and then "le funny deadpan man" in Ragnarok.
Poor Thor.

>Norman Greenbaum's "Spirit in the Sky".
Wait, but that song IS in the Guardians ost.
I think it plays during their arrival in Knowhere.

>main villain isn't even on the poster
lol wtf

>but this was cut as test-audiences mistakenly assumed it meant Loki was behind Ultron's sentiency.
Holy fucking shit, Capeshitters are truly the worst

Good actors can channel their characters and make a natural feeling conversation on the fly. As long as you get good, coherent, 30-60 second sequences of dialogue, you don't need jump cuts, its not like an unchoreographed action scene which can have a jump cut every few seconds.
t. 7 years of drama school with weekly scenes we improvised on the fly using on the fly dialogue based on guidelines we agreed

Downey is just a really good actor. He's best known for capeshit but since his comeback with Ironman he's done a lot of really good movies. I had only caught parts of Tropic Thunder on cable and didn't know for years it was RDJ playing that one guy and that it wasn't played by a black actor.

Attached: downey.jpg (800x544, 72K)

Because they knew Endgame would ruin everything and wanted to give actual Avengers comic fans to opt to choose Infinity War as the real ending.

We could've had Blunt Widow? Why must we be in worst timeline?

Comicbook cover proclaims 'This is their final battle!'.
>It's actually true.

>Tom Hardy
>why does he wear the cloak

>>Early drafts featured the Mandarin as a corrupt Chinese businessman who led the 10 Rings and created the Crimson Dynamo armor to fight Iron Man, before Jon Favreau decided to build up to him in a trilogy instead of Stane.
That would have been much better

>>Early drafts featured Baron Heinrich Zemo and Baron Wolfgang Von Strucker in supporting roles as high-ranking members of Hydra, but the writers believed they should be saved for more prominent roles in future movies.

Wolfgang Von Strucker was saved for a more prominent role in a future movie.

Fucking Age of Ultron. Fucking hell, why.

>>Brian Blessed and Mel Gibson were approached for Odin before Anthony Hopkins was cast.
LOKI'S ALIVE!

>Diora Baird auditoned for Lady Sif before Jamie Alexander was cast.
If only Hollywood didn't hate boobs.

You forgot the deleted scenes showing the Grandmaster's tentacle sex.

>agreed once it was reduced to a six movie contract.
Did they convince him or his lawyers that IW/Endgame are really a single movie?

Thor 1 wasn't crap, it's very underrated due to some glaring weak spots ("where I come from science and magic are one and the same"). But the great moments more than make up for that.

I mean no shit a dark epic could have been better assuming unlimited money but we live in the real world.

>>Penn's script featured the Avengers being assembled by SHIELD to fight Hulk, who had been brainwashed by Loki, before they join forces to defend the Earth from an invasion of the Frost Giants.
This sounds better, and is truer to Avengers' first issue.

>It happened so late into production that toys and artworks of the scene had already been produced
Probably explains why his CGI was fucking terrible.

Honestly Dark World's potential bums me out more
Thor 1 was a good start. But Thor 2 didn't really hit home besides the parts with Loki.

>>Jensen Ackles was approached for Hawkeye before Jeremy Renner was cast.
Boooooooo. Ackles would've been a good fit for Clint.

>>Early drafts featured Arnim Zola surviving the bunker's explosion by escaping in a robotic body. This subplot was scrapped for being tonally jarring.
Yeah, imagine Nazi super-science in a Cap movie!

>Joseph Gordon-Levitt
At least he ended up getting Captain Marvel.

That would've actually been great and made the Ultron drones unique in driving home how they're all Ultron, not to mention it has that Kaiju appeal. Instead we got another generic battle against a CGI army fodder.

Grrrr.

>Yvonne Strahovski ... [was] also considered.
Would have fixed so many problems.

Why are test audiences such retards?

thank god the amazing spiderman deal fell through

>Jessica Biel and Diora Baird
It's not like the used Sif at all or that JA is bad, but I would have loved to see either of these. DB in particular, as she had the best tits in Hollywood for years.

test audiences are so fucking retarded

i really wanted Quick-Ass to survived

>Marvel originally planned to pair Black Widow and Hawkeye together, but Whedon preferred her with Bruce Banner.

Weird nerd writer decides to pair hot girl with the nerd character for no explicable reason. This trope is a cancer on all sci-fi/fantasy writing. Gamma male wish fulfillment over plots and characters that make sense. Glad this arc really paid off in the long run.

Fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuck, so many babes and they choose the blandest of the bunch.

>Guillermo Del Toro were approached to direct
>The first draft of the script was a dark epic set in the Viking Age and modeled after THE LORD OF RINGS

Kino was on the menu boys.

The Russos are the most technically incompetent directors in the industry, and even a hack like Gray would've been better.

>Jaimie Alexander was slated to return as Sif in a "pivotal" role, but was forced to drop out due to scheduling conflicts with her TV series BLINDSPOT.
Considering how unceremoniously they dispatched the rest of the supporting cast from the other films other than Loki and Heimdall, I doubt it was that pivotal.

Del Taco never in his life produced kino all his flicks are trash and he would fit perfectly among the mediocre marvel directors.

Bad taste

See this is why nobody takes people who hate on capeshit nonstop seriously. You were interested enough to scroll down/read enough of these posts to find the one thing that would make you mad, and you probably even watch these movies yourself

Fucking god scar jo was so hot in IM 2.

this is peak BW

Based Christian Pratt knows the deep meaning of sacrifice.

Jewish for sure

>>Although Brie Larson was always the studio’s choice for Carol Danvers,
Why? Whose dick is she sucking? She is an fucking awful choice.

I read through these because I like most of the movies.
I don't like them because I'm a Marvel fan or because I think superhero flicks are the great cultural mark of our time or because Endgame is the most epic thing ever created, or whatever the fuck.
I like they because of what they do well.
And clearly the drones that consume these movies because "muh MCU" and really, test audiences in general, are a fucking blight
Look at all the examples of cool shit that got cute because normalfags can't follow basic plot or handle anything edgier than a blunt butter knife.

Not their fault she didn't want to do it.

really big dick energy from Feige

(you)

Attached: autism.jpg (1298x1145, 159K)

Considering that Feige specifically stated that she was not dusted, and they are apparently planning a Disney Plus spinoff show for her, I'm inclined to believe they actually had plans for her.

Attached: Lady Sif.jpg (2500x1663, 980K)

this would have been kind of interesting, if it was the post credits scene, but that would still ruin the cliffhanger because half the audience walks out and would be confused when they only hear about it later, which is way worse than seeing it in theaters.

Also thats still in the movie

what the fuck was the point if ironman wasn’t a major part

The CEO is a penny pinching kike obviously and was probably on some retarded power trip

His nefarious nature is always pretty self-evident but he jumps pretty quickly from a vindictive, manipulative business man into "I'm going to publicly murder Tony with a giant metal suit"
It's more that it's a waste of a good performer playing a competent villain, especially seeing how Iron Man 2 and 3 turned out

>Morena Baccarin and Mary Elizabeth Winstead auditioned for Maria Hill before Cobie Smulders was cast.
ma dick

the secret identity thing isn’t a bad idea for a sequel like the third movie or something

This is a billion dollar franchise and they can't even spring for some nice, stylized posters, what the fuck

>Imogen Gay Poots
lmao

Iron man 2 and 3 are hot garbage. Absolutely unwatchable

>Steve Buscemi was approached for Hank Pym
My god, who the fuck thought of this one? Love Buscemi, but Hank Pym he is not.

I just realized that Michelle Pfeiffer in Ant-Man and The Wasp is the same character as Aquaman's mom.

>>Hulk was envisioned as the main villain of THE AVENGERS at the time, hence the ending were Banner flashes a sinister smile as he begins to transform again.

too much kino for marvel to handle

She looked noticeably older in endgame.

So my question is. Does anybody know a good place to stream or torrent the MCU movies? I have like 9 on DVD but shit is expensive, even to rent on fricking prime.

Imagine being this inept

>Kurt Russell was cast at Chris Pratt's suggestion.

>Originally Star-Lord wouldn't pull the trigger on Gamora, but Chris Pratt insisted that he should.

Based Pratt.

3 is clearly the worst, I don't know how Shane Black is still able to direct movies, The Predator was absolute garbage.

>Mandarin was just a twist despite being way more intimidating than Kilian, it would've been great if the smokescreen was actually for an even better villain
>They made like 30+ armors for this movie and at best they had like 15 seconds of screentime, and barely action figures except the horrible interchangeable parts toys
>Christmas sitting for no reason
>Extremely weak main armor that breaks all the time, even worse since the Mark VII could handle way more damage in the Avengers
>Tony giving his adress to an international terrorist, no security systems or whatever, not even Nick Fury involved in any way
>Destroyed all of his armors and got rid of the arc reactor in the chest (I heard there's even a scene in the Chinese version only for pandering that's cringe as fuck)
>Iron Patriot armor uglier than the one in the comics

>Wright wanted a stand alone movie
That's just him being a contrarian

Star Lorr shoots Gamora???

Yeah in the Chinese version he goes to a Chinese school and dances with the kids or some shit. Absolutely gay

Those Wright parts look terrible. Reed did a better job. Why is Wright still in business anyway, he only makes shit now.

>that hawkeye subplot
that actually would have been interesting

This guy said it perfectly
He went from suspicious 5 star player with dubious intentions to bloodthirsty shark in the blink of an eye
Would have been much cooler to keep the audience in the dark over his true motivations across multiple movies, always hinting at him being the real bad guy behind the scenes using pawns to get to Tony.

Imo he should never have even been elevated to supervillian in a suit, keep him as only a human Villian using other supers to do his bidding.

By killing Stane so quickly the lost such a massive tie in to Tony’s personal life.

>MCU that should have been
>Iron Man (2008)
>Kurt Russell, or literally anybody else as Stain
>Jeff Bridges in GOTG2 as Ego.

Or just be a dick hole. Whatever.

in the 2nd one

Imagine caring about any of this

There have been like 20 marvel movies and each and every one of them had post credit scenes. I don't think people would be so dumb to leave early. The scene would roll after the fancy first credits, not the white text over black screen ones.

this is still the absolute worst poster ever made

i liked that scene where obi brings pizza. his descent into evil was too quick to make sense.

helya probably killed her when she killed all the other asguard warriors

This is the worst post ever made

shane black is a sex deviant

He pulls the trigger. I'll leave it at that.

Whedon spent too much time on the internet whacking it to THAT gif.

He's probably the one who made it.

>Why are test audiences such retards?
In Los Angeles, test audiences (and focus groups, and live studio audiences for all your favorite shows) are literally all unemployed and usually homeless people. The times they want to run their focus groups are always, always, always when normal people are at work or in school.
Test audiences are literally retards. What's worse is that Hollywood types think they are a legit representative sample of the rest of us.

You are correct but re watch it if you havent in awhile. It's probably the most grounded one since the first iron man all the way through if you take away Cap's super strength

She wasn't on Asgard.

In some cases test audiences save the movie or at least cut some useless stuff. But that's rare

Damn right

>David Bowie cameo
fuuuuuuuccccckkk that would've been awesome

>Hulk as a villain
How would that work?

>he'd die in a seedy alleyway, whereupon Hela would arrive to confront Thor and Loki.
That's the reason for the shot we got in the trailer, then. Ahahah

it wouldn’t. that’s why it was changed. the stakes just aren’t high enough for a movie and they managed to get “rampaging uncontrollable” hulk out in other movies like ultron

Idea later reused for Ralph 2

>It's probably the most grounded one since the first iron man all the way through if you take away Cap's super strength
the movie ends with three flying aircraft carriers fucking crashing into Washington D.C., are you stupid?

Seriously. I just watched Iron Man 2, because National Review was raving about it, and yeah, these movies have gone way off the rails. Even stuff like the glove Tony made to hold the stones of course being able to just unfold itself and pop out some new panels to fit Dr. Hulk. I mean, really? Does this mean Hulk could just put on the Iron Man suit at any point? Didn't even look like nanobots.

Lady Sif show AND a Loki show? This sounds stupid. Her cameos in Agent of SHIELD were already showing she was just a glorified side character.

>Shane Black

>Early cuts featured more parallels between science and magic that were cut from the movie so magic would remain shrouded in mystery.
And yet it's still clear cut video game magic.

i'm surprised anyone actually remembers the plots to any of these movies.

Test audience wouldn't have believed it.

>Sam Rockwell auditioned for Tony Stark before Robert Downey Jr. was cast.

Wow, it could have been kino.

>>The movie was filmed mostly without a script, with actors ad-libbing most of their lines based on production guidelines. Production was so chaotic that both the cast and the producers expected the movie to be a disaster until test-screenings reported surprisingly positive audience reception.

Anyone who knows anything about the film industry knows this is bullshit. They don't go in and start filming without a script.

I really hope this ends the MCU. Sure there will be spin-offs and Disney will try to force their own streaming service but I hope it just quietly dies off. I saw Iron Man when I was 18 so I think I'm just over all of this stuff now.

I'm sure it's some technicality where they had a script they were shooting with but it wasn't an "OFFICIALLY APPROVED SCRIPT" so people can make stupid factoids like that.

imagine, making the mcu even worse

Attached: 1552512622655.jpg (641x530, 25K)

What a terrible movie, Civil War should have been Avengers 2

So can a new Hulk movie work now?

These studios are incompetent as shit
imagine having test audiences that aren't folks like me. They should recruit them off Yea Forums

OP you have anything like this on DC? Please post if u do.

It's too bad, because The Incredible Hulk has some of the best-directed action in the MCU

What's so funny about it? He's a twink just like Holland.

Marvel's Quick Silver was completely over shadowed by Fox's Quick Silver, it's probably best they killed him

Also Thor's investigation of the stones sounds interesting, they maybe should have kept that in, would have connected Thor better to Thanos
