So was it just me or does 2014 Thanos really come off as a borderline mustache-twirling prick compared to IW Thanos? >haha I guess my plan can't work so I'll just create an utopia from scratch and kill you all before you can do anything about it
Before in IW he came off as somehow honorable and honest to himself and others despite his perverse rationalization of how things ought to be. Hell, even at the start of Endgame he does not attempt to bargain for his life or mislead the crew in anyway, staying completely true to IW. 2014 Thanos would rather wipe the board clean and redo everything as he wills it which is almost textbook super-villain. Also, he was very easily angered by the Avengers because they were stubborn/annoying? And literally said he is taking it personally? The same dude who was willing to give Stark an honorable death on Titan after years of stone chasing but then SPARED him in an arguably fair trade for his life?
Am I remembering this wrong? Did he change that much in 5 years? Did the writers want to make him completely irredeemable because too many people got the wrong message from IW?
How long before people realize that Endgame was genuinely underwhelming? Is the hype going to blind people forever? The movie is seriously way worse than Infinity War which was solid in most regards. They regressed so many characters in Endgame it’s not even funny
Chase Garcia
To make a story about a conflict of ideals vs simply making it a black and white morale scenario
Eli Diaz
was absolutely underwhelming
but OP, I disagree here. HE now has the ability to see the movie play pout, see the cause and effect of what is grand plan accomplished. He came to see a harsh reality - someone will try to collect the stones and un do everything and take his head. He is just as calculated and cool - he says Instead of risking this mission im forced to leave no one alive to stop the inevitable.
Jose Smith
He realized that people will always be ungrateful if they know, so he needs to just create a utopia with the stones instead since that's the only way.
Parker Clark
Through Nebula, he watched the events of Infinity War, saw his future self decapitated and saw the lengths that the Avengers would go to to try to undo everything his future self accomplished.
That realisation changed his motivations and made him take it personally.
On Titan in Infinity War, he spared Tony's life because why would it matter if he lived. He'd have 5 stones and have already won. He didn't realise then what they would do after the snap.
Gavin Sanders
>tfw their name literally implies that they would never stop and move on >Thanos didn't realize this from the beginning It seems kind of obvious in hindsight.
Evan Miller
>saw his future self decapitated
ah, that was one detail that slipped my mind. Now it makes more sense, thank you.
I have to see the movie again to properly argue my point, but in my eyes 2014 Thanos did not come off as 'just as calculated and cool' as IW Thanos.
Even if it was true it's the least of the movie's issues, anyway.
Jacob Miller
well remember dude with him its the ends justify the means He is psychopathic and tells himself it isn't personal -it isn't about him- it isn't about hurting people - it isn't about joy. He'll claim he enjoys none of it but it has to be done. This followed that same psychology.
Colton Adams
>tfw end justifies the means >can't end unless he restarts the universe Honestly a bad feel all around.
Aaron Phillips
>2014 Thanos did not come off as 'just as calculated and cool'
IW Thanos has 4 stones before anyone even puts up a fight.
2014 Thanos has 0 stones. IW Thanos surprise attacks groups of uncoodinated people who have never fought him. Nobody knows what to expect.
2014 Thanos is improvising on events he thought were impossible against a group of coordinated people who have already fought and killed him in the future.
Joseph Baker
Also, who the fuck are Earth to stop Loki and the chitauri? 2014 Thanos watched that failiure happen due to the avengers, turns out these assholes kill him and try to undo all his work? He realizes he underestimates them twice and was not about to do so again, so he goes to fuck them up.
Jayden Ortiz
it was underwhelming, predictable and boring. They basically spent 3 hours tieing up loose ends in the most obvious and lazy ways possible.
Asher Richardson
Imagine being OP's age (40's) and giving a shit about any of this.
Josiah Cruz
Yeah. He truly thought people would be grateful for his actions after IW, which was why he was so much more "content". In EG he's like a mad god angry at his subjects for not understanding/following him
Kayden Fisher
2023 thanos had just spent 5 years farming alone on a planet while being gravely injured
He knew it was pointless to fight back, and he accomplished what he needed to in his life
Brayden Powell
>How long before people realize that Endgame was genuinely underwhelming? A couple of years once the quality of the films takes a nosedive not even the biggest shills can gloss over and all of the issues can be traced back to one 3 hour turd.
Isaiah Torres
They kill him before the time skip
Jaxon Lee
>2023 thanos He gets killed like 3 weeks after the snap. He doesn't fight back because he thinks he's already won by destroying the stones.
That fake leak where the Avengers didn't have a choice but to imprison Thanos in a pocket universe was way better than End Game.

You're right that he was drastically different, but I actually liked it, even though the new 2014 one was worse as a character. The concept of him changing throughout the years as circumstances change is really good, and it's seemingly intentional, usually these things happen because they're written a long time apart when the audience reception to a character can influence how they're made (e.g. Darth Vader) but this time with IW and Endgame it was made concurrently.
Jeremiah Roberts
I'd give it 6 months to a year. Endgame reminds me of TFA a lot in that regard. Directors used fan service and pandering to mask what is at best a mediocre movie.
Aiden Baker
>somehow worse than the series of tedious vignettes that was IW Hard to believe
Landon Jenkins
When will you contrarian fags realize that Endgame did everything it set out to do quite well and fulfilled it's purpose to entertain as much people as possible You're the odd ones out, but that doesn't make you unique or special
