WHY CANT HOLLYWOOD MAKE CONQUISTADOR KINO????

It's Kino.
Possibly the most Kino.

when i first watched it, I felt that the meta narrative was the means in which he overcome his fear of death, but on rewatch it becomes the mundane acceptance through allegory. I don't think I explained it well, but the rewatch stole the magic from the movie from me.

the original version of the film that was to star brad pitt and had elaborate sets built before WB pulled the plug, had significantly more conquistator content.

Visually it's pretty neat but it's shallow
Go watch the oa

As good a modern sci-fi film there has been in the past 20 years. The ending destroyed me

is this a genuine recommendation? I started to and the wooden acting turned me off. then i saw the dancing gif and decided nah.

S1 is pretty rocky
First time I saw it I didn't like it either.
S2 is a huge improvement if you like weird movies like the fountain

it's shallow, generic and sentimental
no idea why people liked it
special effects were ass as well, you can tell aronofsky was shooting on a budget, especially those sets that looked like a soap opera and the butchered pacing in the edit
le time trave/interdimensional bullshit
le cancer
le destiny
le jackman
like somebody fed a bunch of reddit buzzwords into a computer and it spat out a movie

>Go watch the oa
lmao yeah the dancing school shooting show, great rec ya jabroni

>it's shallow, generic and sentimental
literally any Malick flick ever made

I know this sounds really stupid but the show isn't all about dancing in s2.
S1 feels rushed and unfocused and the end is terrible but S2 is a genuine improvement.
Sadly alot of people get put off by the dancing before they get there.

>le le le

kill yourself you subhuman Resetera tranny. seriously off yourself and spare your parents having to put up with you any longer

I turned it off after realizing they were going to be exploiting cancer for a forced emotional plot

probably the best ost this millenia
too bad aronovsky had to make the movie personal^2

most. underrated. film. of. all. time.

essential reddit-core flick

"shallow" is definitely the best way to describe it
felt like a tech demo and not a movie
the love story was so lame it was like a parody, I was laughing at it

malick is a fucking hack

I don't think it was shallow at all, they used simple cases to portray deeper ideas.

Cancer was never the center of this, it was about a race against time to defeat Death incarnate - man vs death.
after his wife dies he is consumed with the most powerful emotions their are guilt and regret, and it makes him absolutely obsessive - and yells at his fellow doctors, alluding to the fact that its not really about finding a cure for cancer its about defeating death in general - "Death is a disease. Stop Dying. Stop dying, that's the goal."

but the movie teaches that death isn't all that negative, it can be relief

>but the movie teaches that death isn't all that negative, it can be relief
fascinating
let me go find a napkin so I can write this all down

I wonder what the original version would have been? More weird like cloud atlas meets vanilla sky?

they hired my father to work on this movie. he only works on bad movies

Love this film. Very daring.

Loved it as well.
It's the definition of kino, as in the aesthetic sense.
The conquistador parts are great, not much else scratches that itch for me. Or not in that way.
