Oh please tell me, oh great master, what should people spend their fucking time on? Hanging out in the toilet of the internet bitching about capeshit?
Hudson Reyes
Turns people into braindead manchildren.
Kevin Walker
>Turns people into braindead manchildren.
Nerds are notoriously intelligent though. There's a lot of shit you can call nerds, but braindead isn't one of them. Dumb people tend not to care much for video games and comic book characters because they don't really get anything out of them.
Carson Bell
the problem is not with time wasting, that user is a retard the problem is that the MCU is taking time and budget away from legitimately good productions by having a weaker structure/script and less creative directing than the average low budget action movie (see john wick) which often has better entertainment value regardless, just by replacing everything worthwhile about cinema with fucking putrid CGI and post credit ads which is everything the audience for these movies cares about
Caleb Roberts
he said manchildren, not nerds (although you're wrong anyway and you'll learn that when, or if, you grow up)
Andrew Campbell

Fair enough. I barely watch capeshit anyway. It's not that I don't like capeshit, it's just most of it doesn't interest me unless it has some kind of depth to it. The Joker movie looks surprisingly good desu. Comic books are a waste of time yet the holocaust, communist theory, feminist theory, gender theory, racial equality and anti-capitalism are serious things worthy of time and consideration????
At least comic books can be helpful as it deals with interactions between recurring concepts and archetypes, usually with an emphasis on balance and responsibility coming through. The same cannot be said for people that think that "economic factors" are the only thing preventing a cat from having human intelligence.
Carter Johnson
>defends Snydershit
Jace Wilson
He'd be so much more based if he denounced snyder as well. He brings up legit interesting points but seeing him defend Man of Steel ( or Jack and Jill for gods sake) makes most people safely dismiss him as a simple contrarian
I know he likes to sound smart but some of the stuff he says often doesn't make much sense. >escapist pleasure by pretending that the form’s juvenile cynicism is a sign of sophistication I don't think there's many people out there except for the most hardcore fans who think these movies are nothing more than popcorn spectacle.
Aaron Ramirez

Gavin Anderson
He has a point. But is completly wrong. By this definition in ancient greek, rome or in the middle ages people were not grown up because their stories were rather childish or believed in kids story in the bible. Or today everyone who likes sport or soap operas are childish too. Its more that people like easy entertainment and its opium for the people.
This common domestication. I read some social scientist that with domestication animals sport more juvenile behaviour and characteristics. So its with humans they domesticates themself more and appear childish.
Jackson Diaz
>Adults no longer outgrow comic books. Hollywood prefers that they hang on to the adolescent illusion of carefree, escapist pleasure by pretending that the form’s juvenile cynicism is a sign of sophistication — replacing the traditional sources of imaginative thinking. The cultural monopoly represented by the Marvel Cinematic Universe in its latest release, Avengers: Endgame, depends on geeked-up viewers telling themselves that they are having a major cultural experience. So accurate it hurts
Leo Gomez
What a moron. These movies are about the morality of the American people. I feel like I know Tony Stark, Steve Rodgers and Star Lord. It isnt heroes doing battle but rather our ethos and morality doing battle. Cap, Stark et al represent whats best in us doing battle with the evil pragmatism of Thanos. Armond White is a moron
Jose Flores
I promise you there are plenty of people even outside this website who sincerely defend Marvel and movies like endgame as a cultural experience and cinematic milestone.
Cameron Wright
Lol
Lucas Perez
This movie is going to make $3 billion. How is that not a major world event? It is also the #5 movie on the IMDB top 259, making itna masterpiece
Oliver Thompson
Do you really think that mass consumption equates to quality? There are obviously far better movies that don't make earth shattering numbers. That doesn't make top grossing movies artistically better and certainly not "masterpieces" by sheer virtue of sales. That's idiotic.
>both are flaming homos with inflated egos Really makes me think.
Matthew Cook
Yes I do. We live in a free market democracy and people vote with ther dollars. A good movie will have support where as trash will bomb because the Free Market sort out the wheat from the chaff. Read some Ayn Rand

>The directors Anthony and Joe Russo do routine CGI action, but they don’t know how to supply meaning to any of the goings-on, and that’s the major difference between MCU and the D.C. Comics Universe, which advanced from Christopher Nolan’s nihilism to Zack Snyder’s visual richness and emotional depth. Snyder’s Watchmen was the first comic-book movie to deal with mature themes and play out a credible moral dilemma. Going deeper with Man of Steel and Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, Snyder’s art angered the kiddies. MCU fans don’t know what great filmmaking is. They defer to their post–Star Wars indoctrination. The Russo brothers’ big battle isn’t a climactic summation, just a clash of CGI dots like the indecipherable, interminable Lord of the Rings skirmishes. And the sentimental, nostalgic farewell to two beloved Avengers is hokey. Snyder rescued comic-book movies from nihilism and juvenilia, making modern myths worthy of adult spirituality and politics. Avengers: Endgame takes place in a violent kindergarten.
