Russo Bros

Hacks or geniuses?

Both.

They put a lot of careful thought into one scene, then lazily handwave the next, and have sadly gone from the serious Winter Soldier to quipfests. They can be both very meticulous and infuriatingly lazy.

> Thor becoming King of New Asgard.
> Cap entrusting his shield to Sam and Bucky.
> Natasha getting more mention at the funeral.
> Tony and Wanda truly reconciling during the final battle.
> Thor not turned into a joke.
> Hulk actually fighting.
> Vision actually getting mentioned.

I like Winter Soldier and Infinity War.

Civil War was kinda eh but it was still enjoyable.

I don't know what happened with Endgame because that shit is a snorefest.

Tony just coming up with time travel, overnight and on his own and it all happens off screen.

other than the marvel movies, they both directed a TON of peak arrested development and community episodes

i'll call them geniuses just for that alone

Haven't read it all but probably this. Winter soldier sucks donkey balls, IW was average, Endgame was pretty good but these geeks know how to make money

Do they have the skills to direct blockbusters without Marvel's help? Probably not. They are typical safe yes man comedy directors for Marvel. Nothing more and nothing less.

this, there is nothing revelatory about their films, and it is painfully obvious they got their start in TV because everything they shoot is so dull and flat

Tbh I genuinely wouldn't mind them directing a light hearted Star Wars spinoff movie/series. They are genuinely talented writers.

Hacks that comparatively look like geniuses simply because they're working in capeshit, the absolute lowest form of cinema.

These guys are Star Wars francise last hope. Say something nice about them.

but the Russos arent the writers, they're the directors

They're really ugly, they barely look like humans

>Tony and Wanda truly reconciling during the final battle.
What? They have a beef?

The Russo Brothers look like Mayfield Rd. restaurateurs this is a compliment.

How important are directors in these films anyway? You just need to follow the same formula for all movies and the script is pretty much the same: superhero beats supervillain.

How much of it is that people are naturally able to just ignore a lot of things because of comic book logic?

In Civil War Cap snapped because Tony put her on house arrest

They're the definition of safe, sterile but competent directors. The beginning of their careers as TV directors still shows in their work - point, shoot and listen to what the showrunner/producer wants you to do. They've made some of the highest grossing films ever but you'll never be able to identify a "Russo style" in any of their films.

Tony is the man that learned Gamma science on a night on Avengers 1/
Its his superpower. Also he is the only one that understood the gravity of the situation since first day. Him being THAT smart is his power.
