But then, it's the whole "Jack can go offscript" a lie too? If he knows how everything is going to end then that was a lie.

I'll be reading the thread later but first I want to share my theory regarding the gun.

I think the gun wasn't actually made by Chuck on the sport, it's probably something that "always existed" or was spontaneously made when Chuck and the Empty came to be. Or perhaps they made an agreement and the gun and maybe there are two guns (one for Chuck and one for the Empty). The point of these guns is that only one of these guns can kill a god or the Empty and serves as a safe mechanism against each other. Chuck won't kill the Empty because then he dies too and vice versa. Chuck doesn't want to die and actually fears Jack and his powers (since Jack is a god). So what does Chuck do? Convince Dean to kill Jack for him so he can walk away alive. It seemed to me that Chuck was really desperate to get Dean to kill Jack. And no, Chuck didn't kill Jack since you can't kill a god.

On another note, for 14 years we thought Lucifer was in the wrong for hating Chuck... turns out Lucifer was the good guy all along and Chuck really is an asshole.
