LaRusso himself (going back to the original movies) always seems to overreact to every situation. Take going to Johnny's apartment in the new season, he kicks down the door when Johnny is trying to have a rational conversation first. LaRusso spends money for the dealership specifically to advertise his dojo on YT (faggot) and takes a huge swipe at Cobra Kai while doing it. LaRusso is always confrontational going back to the original movies. His hotheadedness repeatedly gets him in trouble and it spreads to the kids of his dojo as well.

Hawk's nerdy friend jumps up at the party to not just shame Hawk, but to beat him down over and over with every embarrassing detail he knows about Hawk in front of the entire student body attending this party. A couple of things is one thing, but he goes way overboard and as usual the other Miyagi kids protect him and attack.

Johnny and Miguel's relationship is easily the best part of the show. It's why I despair every time they try and force Robbie and Johnny back together, or focus too much on other things. Axe some of those stupid teenage drama moments and put in more moments like Johnny pouring his heart out to Miguel in that restaurant. I think that scene was the most powerful of the entire season.

Season 2 was still great though.

A dojo is about respect. Johnny lost the upper hand by not showing respect when entering another dojo and then accusing Johnny of being behind it. Getting Sam as a girlfriend was the worst possible thing that could happen to Robby.

Sam however, IS a walking plot device for misunderstanding that ruins Miguel and Robby's lives and she responds by trying to guilt trip with HOW COULD YOU and radio silence to Miguel and Robbie after they fuck up majorly because of her.
