Imagine if there were a law that every year, a quota of movies about a particular episode in history had to be made, but always hyper-focusing on one aspect, with no attention whatsoever to more important parts of that episode. Western front and resistance stories without any time given to the East are like if the only thing we ever discussed about the American Civil War was what Lincoln ate for lunch. How many people know that the reason the Soviet Union survived at all, besides American assistance, was completely knocking out an early Japanese attempt to conquer Siberia, plus establishing that the Japanese would not repeat the attempt through what has been called the greatest espionage coup in the history of spycraft, enabling them to concentrate on the West?

Superior movies about the Resistance you should check out instead:
Army of Shadows. One of the best French movies ever made. Makes the point that the Resistance was pointless and even self-defeating, but argues that it was worth it on principle.
Soldier of Orange. One of the best Dutch movies ever made. Makes the point that the Resistance was pointless and even self-defeating, and shows a guy who did not resist the Nazis at all, but when on to have far greater impact on Dutch society by becoming an important judge.

The French state at Vichy collaborated with the Germans but there was a resistance.

People probably couldn't predict the sheer barbarity of what was coming, let alone that it would start in Germany, where the Jews had been very assimilated.

The french parliament chose Marshal Petain to sign an Armistice. That choice should have been respected as democratic by the USA and the so-called "resistance". The USA commited an agression against France and the "resistance" proved they were just terrorists.

There was four years between Kristalnacht and the final solution, user. Partisans in occupied countries rose and started organizing within days after being invaded.

Also, the Holocaust was in the East (where the number of Jews was far greater and they were explicitly tied to Bolshevism). French Jews were not in danger until late in the war. There's a scene in Goodbye To The Children where a Jew is caught dining at a restaurant. He's dining at a restaurant because it had been perfectly safe for him to do so up to that point.
