probably nada
It would require a massive budget for something that's niche as fuck
The budget would be so astronomical it would not be practical
I really dislike that this has become associated with some "le randumb xD" reddit-tier web series.
why not go small scale then
why not make it animated
Yes.
It wouldn't be successful though.
Some gang bangers in a mega-city stumbling upon a genestealer infestation and have to fight for their lives only to get blown up by the space marines in the end anyway? Only needs industrial ruins decorated with rust, scrap and garbage,
>WH40k
>small scale
Fuckin hell.
This is exactly the kind of thing I imagine the suits in hollywood would suggest. The amount of disconnect is unreal.
>movie/tv show
no, the budget if you want to make it very good, will be billions. but you can try and make it animated 18 +, no PGI 13 crap.
even something 'behind the scenes' and smaller in scale like Necromunda would be very expensive because even that shit is on a huge (physical) scale, and the CG would look shit
The problem is every studio which could budget for it would change the setting and script so much it would suck so that it could appeal to more normies and let us be honest, is there even a major studio/corp you would trust with it? There are decent adaptations small scale studios could do like Guardsman-2018 and Astartes though.
the fact it's so vast though means you can focus in on particular stories, like a group of imperial guards fighting chaos cultists or something
This is what you'd end up with.
The Horus Heresy could.
en.wikipedia.org
>While working with Ian Watson on the story for A.I. Artificial Intelligence, Kubrick asked Watson for a pre-print copy of his Warhammer 40,000 tie-in novel Inquisitor. Watson quotes Kubrick as saying, "Who knows, Ian? Maybe this is my next movie?"[32]
Thoughts?
thats certainly not what makes 40k appealing.
it must have emps primarchs demons. it all.
It's either that or You can go small scale with WH40K and make it work. Something like starship troopers wouldn't be impossible and need an astronomical budget these days.
It could be done, Jupiter Ascending had a great feel twords a big universe populated by man
Could you imagine?
i still cannot believe this wasnt an out of seasons april fools joke
yeah that's literally never gonna work
Gaunts Ghosts would be pretty fucking cool
It would work but only if someone like Zack Snyder or Michael Bay directed it
>never gonna work
He understands how.
GW is trying hard to appeal to 'kids'
Motherfuckers, when I was a kid I got into 40K because I read the 4th edition Chaos Space Marine codex at the game store after reading all the sick shit that was inside it.
>make movie with space marines and chaos
>only 1/4 of the fanbase is interested
>normies don't care
It's too wide of an IP to be successful in a major release.
Not impossible that Netflix or Amazon give it a series as an attempt to branch out from period dramas, cape and "the next GoT"
If they do Horus Heresy, wouldn't that start out with the creation of the Space Marines? Could start it out on a smaller scale
>Motherfuckers, when I was a kid I got into 40K because I read the 4th edition Chaos Space Marine codex at the game store after reading all the sick shit that was inside it.
This
I got into it because I found a fuckin white dwarf magazine back when the war of armageddon was happening and they were talking about making a bloodquest movie.
Same. I was probably about 10 when I got into 40K. I've never felt that dark fantasy was too extreme or inappropriate for kids, even something like 40K. We all really liked it. I also remember being into a ton of other fantasy related works and PC/tabletop games back then as well.
Watch Roughnecks, the starship troopers cartoon. The CGI is Reboot-era but it's basically a slice of life show about being a Guardsman
>join army
>get sent to planet
>kill xenos
>many deaths
>"high command" declares the battle over
>get sent to next planet
>kill xenos
>etc etc.
>repeat until psyker goes insane and blows himself up
>repeat some more
I can understand the thought process. They have a solid young adult to middle aged consumer base, but they haven't been able to pull in many young teens lately for a variety of reasons. So to make up for that coming demographic gap they figured they should try methods for targeting younger. It makes business sense on paper, if you forget that you are working with the least family friendly IP of all time.
this
Nobody in this show dies on screen.
Gaunt’s Ghosts/Eisenhorn series would be easy to adapt.
You want deaths on screen watch Starship Troopers 4, that shit was fucking brutal.
>make movie with space marines anc chaos
>only 1/4 of the fanbase is pandered to but the rest go see it anyway
>normies find out about the concept of giant autistic sexless manchildren who aren't into girls because they're too busy being fricken epic
>normies laugh themselves silly, rightfully so and then forget about the whole thing and go watch capeshit
They already did OP
Wait there was a Starship Troopers 4?
Yeah, it's CGI.
Carl's a dick, but CGI Carmen has a shower scene
Only if it's a Warcraft movie style movie or tv series, all 3DCG, and only only more adult channels where it's proper gore and accurate Slaaneshi madness coupled with figures dealing with and fighting temptations can be portrayed.
Even then I'd shit on the thing daily because some dumbfuck western Christcuck or Feminist genophobe/gymnophobe would attempt to tarnish it.
TTS is honesty the best way to go around making it. I don't think that any self-respecting TV/Movie production company will do it, considering how niche it is.
You mean Invasion or Traitor of Mars?
>Traitor of Mars?
that's 5
It' pretty cringy, man. Also the epitome of an unfinished story. They build you up for the biggest battle in mankind's history and then didn't make the final three episodes.
Warcraft and Starcraft were created in the first place because Blizzard couldn't get the rights to Warhammer Fantasy and 40K.
youtube.com
me liek spess muhreenz!!
yeah
>put on huge suits that blow apart
Well that's retarded.
They're landing pods
So Invasion then.
I don't remember that having Carl or Carmen in it. I thought it was a bunch of randoms. (It was cool, don't get me wrong).
Might need to go watch it again.
lET'S HOPE NEVER
Then they should look like pods, not like power armor.
no they aren't reatch it
You could make a bunch of stand alone movies about the primarchs backstories.
Angron would be a rebellion movie that would have very little space stuff and focus on the people around him and angron himself, like the torture of the Nails, only to have it end with emps beaming him up
Grilliman could be a political drama that focused on his relationship with humans and being a God among men until he meets the emperor
Magnus could be about his studies into the warp and meeting the emperor, and becoming friends and learning more and more about the universe. Movie ends with a faint vision of the burning of prospero or something.
So on and so forth, if anyone has any ideas bring em out too
I know. I think Blizzard should dump the gaming side of it because they suck donkey dick at it now as they've lost all their original devs that actually had a grasp on the philosophy that gave the brand its value, and instead create a movie studio focused on 3DCG movie and series adaptions of various universes. The only good thing they have are the animators and 3D modelers, and they can actually get a license to make Warhammer shit this way, so long as Gamesworkshit decides the writers.
Yeah, Carl, Rico and Carmen survive as well as 3 of the 30 new named characters they introduced
He truly was a pioneer and visionary. He wasn't looking a couple thousand years into the future like most sci-fi does, he was interested in the FAR future.
Is there a company more out of touch which it's fanbase than Games Workshop?
It's all so tiresome.
I just really really like Warhammer 40k. It's got everything. History, mystery, gods, heroes, villains. The lore just never ends.
And the grim metal atmosphere.
It's like catnip for geeks. (and I mean the real geeks, not those $0yboys and hipsters)
I'm assuming he's talking about the cgi movie.
Traitors of mars was better than that one though.
But yeah, starship troopers; inc roughneck chronicles, Dredd, Battlestar Galactica, Generation Kill, Band of Brothers, Altered Carbon, are all close examples of what could be done with the IP and keeping it good.
An animatrix/love death + robots animation take could work well, and the industry is filled with people brimming with love for the series,
youtube.com
youtube.com
Or you can do what plenty of people in this thread suggest and immediately jump to make the biggest flop of all time by dumping in 300 million+ to try and out capeshit hollywood with more exposition than the 66 hours of game of thrones has.
that old aesthetic needs to come back, modern 40k is too clean and lifeless.
>History, mystery, gods, heroes, villains. The lore just never ends.
>And the grim metal atmosphere.
What if I told you can find all of that in something that REALLY EXISTS?
If only real life was that interesting.
Is it really so hard for them to grasp that 40k's OTT violence is the precise thing kids are into and is best for them?
Kids aren't retarded enough to think it's realistic.
Yeah I remember the slaughter of the new guys.
Hm, cool. Will watch it again. Thanks for the reminder user.
True. I didn't get into 40k till several years ago, but before then the only sci-fi I liked and enjoyed was cyberpunk because all other mainstream sci-fi franchises and stories were too "feelgood" and misguided naivety utopia shlock. 40K was entirely different and that precisely was the charm that drew me to it.
A setting not about petty conflict and "fights", but about actual struggle as far as the definition of it can be pushed. The over the top mess of it is what makes it fucking amazing. Change that, and it's just another Star Trek/Star Wars, and I couldn't give a shit less about either.
Fucking love Mechanicum, btw.
Why is he so short? Looks to be 5'5 at most.
Look at this cool shit.
It worked for Dredd, just manage the budget properly
So why don't you just make your own art that way? Or is 'canon' that important to you?
They really just need to bring back Adrian Smith and John Blanche.
But it is. It's even more interested than that, there's so much hidden lore and it's all so soul crushing. It's so much darker and more significant than you could possibly imagine.
I felt the same way about Warhammer Fantasy until well... yeah.
It's a shame Wayne England passed away. I always liked his stylised art. Very iconic.
It's all boring in comparison too.
Don't waste your time .
Small scale works just fine
you could have a movie about the imperial guard with only cameos or easter eggs about Space Marines and some of the crazier stuff
Looks like something a five year old would draw.
Garbage.
I love how these IG look like a cross between a football team and bikersm except half of them are in zebra skin glam-rock jumpsuits on a wheat field.
Fantasy was on it's deathbed by then anyway. Sigmar with it's World of Warcraft aesthetic was more about pulling in the younger audiences imo.
40k is all about brutality and cynicism, but in the process of making a film, they would mistake that for an endorsement of brutality, and so you'd get a movie where the empire of man is all gayed up and that brutality is replaced with optimism
ok buddy
I wish anyone other than Based Ed Redmayne realized that they were making super pulpy shlock and had acted accordingly. I wish Mila Kunis had been recast to someone that wasn't a dull blade of grass.
>Fantasy was on it's deathbed
Right around when fantasy was getting decent videogames made they decide to alienate all new audiences by ditching the lore and making ground marines.
Honestly I've learned to move on, it was hard to after many years of playing Fantasy, I have slowly gotten into AoS with the new edition and im planning on putting my skaven on round bases.
The newest edition of Age of Sigmar felt more proper than the original release which was laughably terrible especially some of the art of world maps.
I don’t want to see niggers and women in 40K outside of their assigned roles (Sisters of Battle) and I know Hollywood would shit all over that and have Sisters of Battle sassing primarchs or 1v1ing Space Marines or stupid shit
The real red(black)pill is realizing that most fictional universe's with even vaguely religious themes are all predictive programming. Doom, Warhammer 40k, Silent Hill. It all holds more weight than you might realize.
>I don’t want to see niggers
WE WUZ SALAMANDERS N SHIEEEET
VULKAN FINNA DAB ON SOME CHAOS NIGS
All I need is an Istvaan III movie, true to the book, adult rating, Blizzard doing it Warcraft-style, and that alone, with nothing from the books cut, just a narrator explaining the general political picture from time to time connecting the universe into a coherent whole without going too far back into history and different ages to explain shit.
Salamanders aren’t black though they’re literally burnt
Look at their facial features
>another spoopy image with front facing characters
Again, my dick draws better.
The only actually black marine I can recall is Jonah Orion, and he was (originally) a decent character.
no so stop asking you braindead reddifugee
Based schizophrenic boomer
>The only black character is a member of the space marine chapter that steals shit
40keks
Think of the costume budget alone...all those massive sets of armor for space marines...
They should just adapt the game Space Marine into a movie, it had a very digestible story with lots of good characters and Factions present
True 40K kino coming thru
lol'd
good shit
SHPPASHE MAREENSSSHHH are badass!!! did you you the warp makes you go INSAAANE??? god i wish i was a space marine. id purge all the roasties and chads for the emperor
Steal? They're just generous gifts, user.
The space marines themselves are the most uninteresting part of the Warhammer 40k universe. People just lap it up because they're so "badass" and easy to translate into a video game.
>space marine
Speaking of, if you liked that game make sure to keep your eyes peeled for Space Marine Augmented mod. Hopefully if it gets enough traction it'll revitalize the game.
Space Marine was a great game but it had the most pleb vanilla factions ever
But that's his whole schtick and he did it well
>But that's his whole schtick and he did it well
>He drew garbage well
It's still garbage, user.
It even had Mark fucking Strong as the main character.
not once have i met a 40k fan that actually wanted to be a space marine
God, space marines are so gay.
Space Marines suck when they are the protagonists. It's like capeshit, they have to make quips and everything, it's just lame. They only work if they are the great other to actual humans and their lack of humanity is emphasized.
>among
>indeed
wrong
Marines used to be just hench men, not giga niggas
when you're 13yo it IS the most epic shit ever, but once you grow up, yeah, it's just sad
>Pistol of Baal
>Said to be an exchange between the two chapters
>Blood Angels have no recollection of this
top fucking kek
Because they keep using Ultramarines as the main characters. Thanks Matt Ward.
Far too much convoluted content, no.
You can have things like Gaunts Ghosts or Ciaphas Cain though.
Submit a script to HBO because this is where we need to start to introduce normies to 40k.
Those little rascals
Move with the times, old man.
ADB is the new arch faggot among the 40k writing staff.
i really liked the horus heresy book where it was mostly imperial troops with the alpha legion occasionally being assholes
Just do it like Dredd, a handful of Space Marines and Imperial Guard clear out a chaos cult on a hiveworld and throw in some shady stuff like the planetary governer is in on it too. Bit cheesy but i think it'd work, no clue if anyone would actually go see it though
>Alpha Legion
is there a more 'Absolute Mad Lad' primarch than Alpharius?
should make a movie about the emp conquering terra from the guys from mad max by employing a bunch of giant cyberpunk fat guys that he had later genocided
No, it's got to have more draw than that for an initial debut. There seems to be a monster craze emerging now, so it might be better to start out with some tyranids.
another cheesy one i thought of is just make a slasher movie/Alien but with a Necron hunting down guardsmen or something. Completely uninspired though
But this would probably be more successful as Cain is quite lighthearted for 40k
>Tyranids
Boring.
That's Immortan Joe, right? They made one on him a few years back. It's called Fury Road.
I just read about this last night while researching all of his unfinished projects. i also read that Cary Fukunaga is making Kubrick's Napoleon film that he wasnt able to finish. I had never heard this before. I love Fukunaga, I think he's extremely talented so if anyone could pull it off it's be him.
Heresy starts out with Horus just recently being proclaimed Warmaster. The great crusade, and thus the marines, would have been going for around 200 years.
Why? Cause they're OP in the long run?
i unironically think the only sensible thing would be to go make eisenhorn into a series. if book one works with normies make 2, if eisenhorn worked go ravenor then pariah if abnett ever finnishes that.
the fucker even wrote for capeshit so one foot may be in the door already.
the inquisition story focus on extraordinary humans, but not as retarded over the top as spehs murehns. and horus heresy is too long did they reached terra yet i stopped at book 20 or so
I think they're still wallowing in daddy issues
there are small scale W40k stories already in comics, it works.
It would just be Aliens but without any charm
Universum? No, but if you pick some books they yes but it would need a really big budget and someone witha a vision to do it.
How so? Tyranids are fascinating in the sheer destructive power they possess. You can reduce them all you like, but they're absolutely fearsome and diversified so there's so much that you can show. The exact opposite of boring. I wouldn't even know what your definition of "charm" is, so it's really a non-point.
The Tyranids are the least interesting faction. They're just a force of nature. The one intriguing thing is their mysterious origin, and Genestealer cults. What do they bring to a movie screen? - just generic chittering aliens that kill or be killed. Meh.
of course it can be done, the autistic grogs on /tg/ will say otherwise, but you can adapt literally anything to film if you have the talent and actually care about the source material.
>Small scale
>the local security on planet have to deal with Chaos/genestealer cult
>Rouge trader
>The story of a kid from a hive city going on to become a space marine
>Normal humans and how they deal with the absolute horrendous conditions until some force comes to enslave them/eat them
Those all sound gay and nonrepresentative of 40k as a whole.
>actually care about the source material
Hell Disney doesn't even bother with that part
It wouldn't be the Tyranids themselves that would make the movie interesting, it would be how the guard or even the Astartes realize what a destructive and near impossible to defeat foe they have. The interaction between them, the struggle, would be the interesting part. There is a lot of gruesome gore to achieve with the nids that would definitely captivate the audience.
Im just throwing ideas out there, a smaller movie might be better because a larger studio would neuter anything fun. Also you would have to get all in not most factions represented in that movie
Fucking Tau gundams would be the worst thing ever but normans would eat that up
No Tau allowed
Primarches are fucking gay, we want a guard movie
movie would be a shitty CGI parade
First Hastings and now weeb enabling?
Cunts just don't know when to stop.
Better support Eranthis Project for Soulstorm. The absolute madman released at some point almost complete high-res retexture for SoB models and now seems to want to retexture every faction. Seems a bit optimistic, but that would bring new life into the game and that is by far the best W40k vidya.
Goofiest big budget cast of all time, right before Genisys.
instead of appealing to stuff that works with the mythical broader audience they could do a 1 off movie purely about life as a ork boy ascending to bosshood
might flop, might become a cult classic
>might become a cult classic
That's worthless in the eyes of movie producers. Box office success trumps everything else.
The problem with Orks is that they're only funny in context of the setting being so serious.
From the perspective of everyone around them, they're absolutely horrifying.
>Soulstorm
RTS genre is too autistic for me to enjoy. It's all competitive multiplayer focused now - forever living in the shadow of the MOBA. Not my thing at all.
>that is by far the best W40k vidya
For you
>not Kult Klassic
Neat idea, but the humor is always tangential to the demeanor of the other races that are interacting with them. Without that context they'd just be tiresome to watch. But that's like, my opinion, man.
Make it a feminist empowerment movie, it'll ge tthe budget it deserves
No and neither is Berserk
not that this stops Yea Forums autists from spamming the exact same HURRRRRR CAST HIM thread every day
Sisters of Battle movie would actually go down well with the 40k crowd (except for the waifu audience who thinks all SoB are anime looking prettygirls) and feminists.
What a crazy world.
>Skarbrand is before you
>brandish a pointy stick at him
the balls on that lad
>start producing this exact show
>release this exact image as promo material
>media tanks the entire project because the Imperial Guard is "clearly flying the confederate battle flag" and the movie is "glorifying racism equating minorities with demons"
As much as I love Kubrik, I'm not so sure he could've done it well. The tense atmosphere of so many of his films, the suspense, the seeping darkness or black humor - none of it is what I think about when I think about WH40K. Personally, anyway.
What's the appeal with Warhammer?
you can't make Celestine the focus of a movie, but you could totally have her in it.
War
>the suspense, the seeping darkness or black humor
M8, that's precisely what 40k's atmosphere is all about. The battles are absolutely over the top, but that description hits the setting perfectly
>The tense atmosphere of so many of his films, the suspense, the seeping darkness or black humor - none of it is what I think about when I think about WH40K.
Black self-aware to certain extend humor is a foundation for 40k
unlike other scifi/fantasy settings, warhammer fully embraces how retarded it is. At first glance it looks like it takes itself seriously, but when you read the stories you start to realize that it simply does not. I have grown an appreciation for warhammer writing, its like trying to balance cheese with shakespear.
like some other user put it, its catnip for autists.
it has excessive lore, you can read that shit forever and still find out new stuff. its also pretty funny because its so endlessly grim. if a good author is behind it works as a serious story as well.
gravy
Ggggg
?
You heard the man
sisters of battle literally worship a man and wish to die and flagellate themselves for him
this shit looks like butt ugly martians
What do you think my WAAGH-hammer bros;
>TV show
>Story takes place from Eldars perspective
>Learn about the universe, some backstories and species
>Eldar manipulates the audience (the Tau) into showing the Imperium / Space Marines as genocidal lunatics
>Shows minority aliens / da orcs being purged by the evil Space Marines for no good reason
>The TAU go all "For the greater good" on Terra colonies, freeing da orcs and killing the Imperium
>The TAU then rescue the minority aliens / da orcs
>plot twist: da orcs luv a gud foight and kill every TAU sympathetic to the orcs (Eldar anticipated this which is why they sent the TAU in the first place)
>Space Marines not so evil and make sense
>The "Reasonable Space Marines" explain to the TAU that the Eldar are a race of sneaky Space-Jews and they've been duped
>Eldar spies report back what the audience / TAU have learned
>The Eldar summon and lure Chaos into attacking the Space Marines.
>Season 1 ends with the death of the Eldar, and a foreshadowing to the surviving Eldar being a Dark Eldar all along.
Give Feedback
Cain is actually perfect if you follow the books. It starts off with cheifly opposing Tau and genstealers, who are good, classic Alien Empire, and Gribbly Xenos, without too much of the spooky stuff mixed in, then introduces Orks and Necrons, as new Aliens, then finally gets to Chaos, on their own. There's also the shorter stories that could be used to be TV show tie in, or B movie (Good I miss B Movies)
>Kubrick Warhanmer 40k film
What could have been...
>Redpills on Jews using Eldars and Chaos
This would've been Eyes Wide Shut on a whole new level
Most of the good books are small scale and about the day to day goings of ordinary people. Space Marines are a myth to common folk and you can have all kinds of intrigue about people worshipping traditional gods who are actually chaos. Do it lowkey and use actual 40k stuff sparingly. Independent story with hints to the larger manner of things.
Stuff like this is how people want a Halo movie done right. Focus on the smaller stuff - a single planet, a series of battles, and have the Spartans (like the Space Marines) maybe show up in the end, like this mythological, legendary event
Or, make it like this
Have sex.
wow, low-test post of the year
>Live forever, apes!
:')
>not a movie about how the emeperor is the same or even worse than the chaos gods he is trying to keep at bay
Overcomplicated and misses the appeal
Alright at this point these threads has to be content farming for ideas from some junior exec but fuck it.
The ONLY way to pull a WH40K off is to make it as a series, 10-15 ep/season Ă¡ la Black Mirror style.
Rotating between a few basic templates you can basically have an endless amount of different stand alone episoden up to even small anthologies:
>Imperial Guard scouting mission goes south when they encounter X (think predator)
>A group of miners on a planet dig into a Genestealer nest (Think Alien)
>Anthology of selection and trial of a planets tribes to select the worthy to become a Space Marine (The reveal is in the end what it is about) only for the only survivor to succumb in the transformation pod (think The Matrix with endless rows of pods)
>A Terminator-esque one the run mini series with a family hiding from someone. The reveal is their girl is gifted and to be sacrificed to the Emperor
>Eisenhorn as is, or a Watered down mini series.
>"Warriors" Necromunda style
>High Society Terra political drama (think GoT) mini series R-rated, playoff is a conspiracy and they try to summon a Slaaneshi daemon prince.
>Scavengers enter a ruin on a forgotten planet and find more than they asked for ( Think Indiana Jones)
and that's how you know when someone hasn't even read the fucking books
they are not some oversimplified kiddie shit, it's even harsher than regular 40k lore, we a necron completely wrecking a planet and the parent of the blonde one being gauss flayed in front of him
I could go on all night
There's literally a 40K story where the Emperor just argues poorly with an old man in a small church.
please don't
John Blanche is about to join Death and i'm not talking about the faction
Then at the end when evil is defeated and people learn to live together, culture prospers, there is peace and the old gods are respected the ACTUAL imperium arrives to the planet, rediscovering it from the dark age of technology, turning everything into shit again with a totalitarian, ruthless regime. Faceless Marines treading the streets lighting up people to make an example what happens to dissenters and the old mentor character is dragged screaming into the darkest corner of some Inquisition ship to be tortured for an eternity for preaching false gods.
>the SJW´s inject their politics into my hobbys and ruin everything, he said
Too much of a dredd copy
Should be a derelict ship
Holy shit redit runs everything into the ground quick
It's possible, but you have to make it about female empowerment.
yo wtff
Basically this.
Anti SJWs are often/become the monster they hunt.
i think a Ciaphas Cain movie would be cool
what would you want ? a movie about them ?
is there anything more embarrassing than a 40k fan? I have more respect for weebs and bronies
or them ?
My OC pitch.
A child is discovered in a grass feild. A family raises him as their own. The child grows up in a world oppressed by racial and hierarchical systems, he being raised at the bottom, and suffers from periodic nightmares. He grows up during a time of social unrest, movements starting to question the status quo. His young life sees all the misery of those around him, and makes a few close friends. Through adventures in his childhood, he is ripped away from his family by the state and sent to die in games of blood and death. He defeats all his foes during a game and is picked up by minor family of status. There, he is given a life of entertainment, his owners seeing him as a lesser breed. He sees two world's, the juxtaposition he seess grows into disgust in his heart. In time, the cruelty of those in power becomes too great for him, and challenges the Lord of all Lands. He is defeated, but impresses the Lord to grant him a place in his plans. Over time, he considers the young man to be a worthy son and successor over his own blood, in no small part to the young man's perception on how this corrupt society values it's nepotism and supremacy
Eventually, the man, now fully grown, leads a rebellion against the powers that be, and during the final conflict, defeats a creature of pure rage and anger summoned by the highlord's own son, motivated by jealousy and envy, blinded even striking down his own father
Though weary and exhausted, the man now sets out to deliver a speech to the now liberated people. How no longer will the evils of imperialism and supremacy chock out the spirit of mankind. Though after his speech, when he sleeps that night he is woken by the most intense nightmare he has ever had in his entire life. He is then told of strange ships coming from the sky. He is silent, somehow knowing, that eyes that are of his own stare right back at him with uneasy disapproval
The II/XI has been found
>using a stonetoss comic to prove shit
you wasted a good occasion to shut up but you didn't took it i guess
Yes absolutely.
youtube.com
Make it from the point of view of a survivng remembrancer based on the Horus Heresy breaking out. No Horus no Emperor just the Ultramarines being portrayed as monsters and then the word bearers fall from grace.
Get people interested without the overarching gods of the Imperium being the focus. Eventually once you are a season or two in you can extend this to the wider heresy. Drip feeding in new conflicts and chapters. Have the Istvaaan 3 massacre a build up that only the *audience* sees coming in the end of Season 2 or 3. Showing the Astartes that figured it out post battle and then how they survived.
It would have to be multi year, long haul tv series ala game of thrones. Movies do not have the time allowance for long story plots and scenes. The Heresy series could showcase to the wider public the very basis of why and what the Imperium is. We have to be serious here most people will need to be spoonfed the Imperium first. A Eldar focused movie would just be seen as anime. Orks would be incomprehensible. And you would need to decide if they WILL TORK LOIKE DIS or just grunt in their own indecipherable language.
The Scouring of Monarchia to me is the best starting point as you can show off the Astartes as the walking god men/angels of death and have the Emperor off screen as shown in the video above as a demigod without equal to explain the compliance of the word bearers as their won people are mass slaughtered.
Get people invested in Lorgar. Have him be the "stereotypical fall from grace non believer" Have the irl marxists atheists jews and commies promote him and his "rebellion" in the media as an outlet for their anti Christianity. Then when you do the 180 switch and watch them fusing literal daemons into their warriors you can show the Emperor - the all encompassing, tyrannical, distant, supposedly uncaring father as absolutely right in the WHY and HOW he did things.
MTG
The Emperor is flawed beyond comprehension.
Make it about empowering women. It's the only way to make movies now. It needs to have a woman in the movie that can be a positive inspiration and a role model for women and girls. The emperor needs to be a woman.
A lot of people fail to understand the why warhammer adventures.
Irl the Company is in a precarious political position due to its geographical one. For decades they have been the target of ridicule and enmity of the left and mas media due to in the yes of their critics overly promoting old world thinking like duty, loyalty honour as essential of the "good guys".
A lot of faggots and cowards have since tried to bridge this by saying shit like "there are no good guys in 40k" and 'The Imperium is just as bad as everyone else"
Yet there is still unceasing visible and increasingly invisible pressure on the company to "reform". So they hired a bunch of obvious SJW's, gave them their ownn separated office space. Gave them a run at the "lore" in a completely closed off part of the companies product line and even used the finally revamping of sisters as evidence they were embracing "women and minorities".
ITS A FUCKING FEINT. Get over it.
Now they can adequately point at the failed "warhammer adventures" as it slowly falls into irrelevance and economic failure as it being an unprofitable venture and they will "try harder" in the future.
t. long time suffering Black Templars player who wants HIS FUCKING CODEX BACK SHITCUNTS!
He is a man after all.
Horus Heresy can be made into a TV series with an astronomical budget that would probably require the souls of a billion imperial citizens alongside money. It would be extremely difficult to pull off as well.
I was thinking more of a star wars Clone Wars scope.
Whats complicated about endless war?
I'm being true to the lore, the Eldar are mischievious, but it's actually the Dark Eldar the whole time.
It's an excuse for endless war and a good WAAAGH
>Rogue Trader
>nonrepresentative
>the concept where it all fucking started
Honestly the web series is better than talking to 40k fags about the actual lore.
Some of the most autistic shitters who pretend this is the deepest shit ever.
Not enough meat gorillas in heavy armor shooting at other meat gorillas in heavy armor for you?
Too simple, doesn't satisfy the beautiful autistic fans of the franchise. Ripping off other movies with an autistic niche franchise is a bad idea.
The beauty is War.
This does an original idea that introduces the factions and the war >High Society Terra political drama (think GoT) mini series R-rated, playoff is a conspiracy and they try to summon a Slaaneshi daemon prince.
No more GoT please, I think we're all sick of political theater
because even on a small scale 40k is over the top, to get a practical budget it would have to be about some literal who standing guard on a literal who shrine and nobody wants to see that
gaunts ghosts could make great action films, eisenhorn could make good detective films. i think you have to go with source material focusing on humans, almost anything Horus Heresy/Space Marine related is just going to be extremely expensive gorefests with too much cgi and too little character development.
even if you do gaunts ghosts or eisenhorn its going to be expensive and if you want to do it justice it has to be very brutal and grim. dont know if there is a big enough market for this.
>Thoughts?
this is why the jews killed him
this lol, do they charge per word or something
gaunt's ghosts would make for good future/sci fi game of thrones niche since everyone fuckin dies
you do realise she gets her head chopped off by kharn at some point which already rules it out. cant have our female hero be beheaded by a genetically modified giant lunatic who can feel nothing but rage, works for the literal god of murder and violence and kills people with a giant chainaxe.
It was a children's show, so they had to ditch the line that carried an implication of death.
I agree with the anthology style, but the only way to do 40k justice is to make it an animated series.
People don't think of Rogue Trader when they think of 40k. Deny it all you want, you'll still be wrong. The franchise has grown.
Why would you nerds want your hobby thrown into the sewer of the mainstream?
Are you fucking mental?
>gets called out for doing the same shit as the people he rails against
>counters with some shitty comic implying he didn't do that thing
You're kinda retarded, user.
No
but a man can still dream
gaunt, rawne, mkoll, bonin and larkin are all alive even though they appeared in book 1. granted, gaunt cant really die and i guess rawne cant either since he is now the regiments commander and gaunts best friend but one of the others should really bite it in the next novel.
creator of 40k Rick Priestly was Jewish
One of the kiddies ends up getting gauss flayer'd
Kids are different these days.
Despite the "generation zyklon" memes modern kids are much more PC and the like than past generations. They don't like dark/gritty either. It's why they love the MCU and fortnite so much
Many. GW actually hasn't even engaged in wars with its fanbase in the way Disney, Star Wars, Comicbook writers, video games, Star Trek, etc all have.
GW actually pretty much understands the fans but is just trying to branch out with the kiddie stuff
so was kubrick, didn't stop the jews from killing him
wtf this looks decent
Moden 40k fans grew up on 3rd-5th edition aesthetics they would hate the old style which itself is a product of the 80s
No. Pretty much for every reason you can think of as well.
>too niche, no one cares
>massive budget absolutely necessary
>they'd never have the balls to make it as violent and dark as it needed to be
>too much content to condense down
In general it's just like the anti-normie franchise in all fields.
this
Fuck, that's cool as hell. God, I love 40K/30K so much. It's so easy for me to get into it. Sadly I don't think the masses particularly care, not while the Mouse holds the reigns at least.
t guard faggot
Fucking this. Just look at what happened to comics and vidya, and what Hollywood wants to do to anime/manga. Who in their right mind would actually want that hellhole to get a hand on something they love?
Song essentially related
youtube.com
I don't want Hollywood to touch it. I want GW themselves to produce it, oversee every aspect of it to ensure it stays true to itself and doesn't make sacrifices to the unwashed horde for socialjusticebux. I just want it to happen, and by that I mean actually happen, not watered down and turned into not-40K.
>GW is trying hard to appeal to 'kids'
Everyone is all pointing out the edgy stuff is what gets them into 40k, which is 100% true, but there is also the fact their product just isn't appealing or even usable by younger kids.
Seriously, their primary driving force behind EVERYTHING in the table top miniatures market, and how many kids do you know who do models? Who have the time, patients and autism to assemble and paint everything.
Who would you cast as mommy Celestine?
I'm sorry to tell you, but it'll never happen. I don't think GW has the money, ability, or desire to do it without Hollywood, and I know for certain that Hollwood couldn't pull it off without fucking everything - literally everything up
Yeah, I know it's a pipe dream, but then I remember to myself that literally anything can happen, and stranger things have. Hell, we're at the very least getting a CGI animated series (or mini-series, not sure yet) by GW, so perhaps it's a testing ground right now. We didn't fly to the moon in one day, after all.
Yeah because when people think of 40k all they think of is fucking Space Marines. Growth does not equal focusing only on the big burly armored men.
>what is celestial lions
Hang yourself retard.
the good characters all died and the female characters all turned into mary sues, it's already GoT in space
do you consider gaunt, rawne and hark shit characters and what females are mary sues?
based
I want to see Titans on the big screen.
It'd fail. Americans hate mechs, and Japanese hate big/slow/cumbersome mechs
Yeah but China
no because it would be giga-bad and not in the grimdark way, like anti emperor minority women save the day against the Inquisition bad
China hate skellingtons and other representations of death, which basically is 40k
>chinese see it as a biopic
Gaunt is a boring character with no flaws who is treated like the new Emperor with no flaws despite only leading some 2k guys but of course he wins every battle by himself even if 300 million people are involved
Dosent she keep coming back to life though?
You know they would pull a jonavich out there ass for her
Possible, yes. But costumes and sets would be budget crippling.
Oi umie!
were you expecting something :^)
>Americans hate mechs
This is a lie
It's okay if you weren't going to ever have any interest in the renowned money sink that is WH40k anyways. Also the Yugioh duels are really fun.
Making a film about the First or Second Wars for Armageddon would be absolute fucking kino.
Unfortunately 40k is still moderately niche and that would flood the hobby with normalfags
Kino
cgi
Yeah give It to Michael Bay
no
Michael Bay would do fine, 40k is meant to be ridiculous and over the top.
Battlefleet Gothic.
The issue would be the ridiculous costuming requirements.
A Love, Death & Robots style series of disjointed animated short stories would be pretty much the only realistic format for WH40k.
It would work as a tight, focused fantasy adventure film that concentrates on character and vibe. LOTR but brutal and horrific. You'd need the main character to come from somewhere peaceful to both act as the audience surrogate and to show the brutality in sharp relief.
You can't do something like the heresy because only existing fans would care, making it financial suicide. You have to make an original story, and set it in the universe. Play up the mythical elements, swords and sorcery and magic.
The Shire = Backwater planet
Gandalf = Psyker Inquisitor
One ring = Warp gizmo
Sauron = Chaos Lord
Gimli = Techpriest
Aragon = Dispossessed noble witch hunter
Arwen = Witch hunter
Boromir = Sector steward's son
Have them encounter aliens and monsters on their journey. Catacombs of creatures and ancient tech. Big battles can happen where the party encounter space marines, guard etc.
No, we could work with tg, ic, 3 and create something tho...
I just like the books nigga
i played the game when i was a kid but never read the books i wouldn't mind picking up a book now but don't know where to start and suggestions?
sorry sweetie, there are far too many men for this to work. can the emperor be a woman, or at least trans? thanks
Space hulk film, Aliens style.
you know what must be done
Amazon ?
Say no more
That looks like rick James
>i'm bi tee hee
Nice
Horus Heresy arc would work alright
Handle it like Berserk
>We'll never get a Kubrick WH40K film
There is still nothing written by any human in domain of any known ARTS thru out history that could compare to actual dark grim of homo sapiens reality.
As you grow older you realize the dread of being alive and only alternative is infinetly worse.
Shit's so cash.
SoB are pretty. Just because GW makes bad models doesn't mean they are uggos. There is a quote from Mathieu in Dark Imperium that all the SoB he saw is prettier than normal girls because the one who choose girls to be SoB want them to be waifu material for the Emperor.
it didnt tho
RIP Astral Knights
>not from humanity's perspective
immediately out the window
>Oh hi, Horus
there was that story in one of the anthologies about the low tech (they had muskets) world that fought off an ork invasion for a respectable amount of time before the astartes finally showed up.
...then the main character, who had some slight latent psyker ability that helped him survive, organize survivors and (even win a couple victories against the superior ork forces)
wound up on one of the black ships for his troubles.
thought that one'd make a good flick as is.
Stallone's Judge Dredd tried this, it failed. The reboot did it right.
this
but normies still wont see it
