ITT: video games that you would like to see movies for

This should be easy to make into a success. You would have to try to make it suck.

Mass Effect. We can't do anything without any humans, otherwise normalfags will hate it, so the First Contact War is a good place to start.

Dishonored would take a perfect storm to even be remotely memorable, but I want to see it’s world in movie format anyways.

Dead space animation movie

Quantum Break should've just been a movie because its gameplay is the weakest aspect

Attached: quantum-HECU.jpg (1920x1080, 140K)

I want to say FEAR 2, but I'm not sure how they would adapt the ending.

Attached: IMG_3812.jpg (1024x768, 210K)

Would have been way better than what actually got made.

You know someone actually they made a dead space movie it would suck. When another team of highly-regarded devs tried to make the sequel it completely abandoned the original's atmosphere and storytelling, there's no practical chance some movie producers could put together a movie that could encapsulate the feeling of the original game.

It also just wouldn't work as a movie. Dead space was one of the few games that had its story and feelings enhanced by playing as Isaac. Simply watching Isaac wouldn't be nearly as engrossing.

It was really underwhelming. They should've just casted Isaac as the MC. I guess they were afraid of using a "faceless" protagonist.

X-Com: UFO Defense

Non of them.
Video game is the superior corporate schlock.
More effort, more time, more detal, more content goes into a game than a movie.

You cheapen the brand when you sell it to boomer media gods.

>Isaac talks in DS2
>he says generic action hero stuff

The Phantasy Star series would make for some sci-fi/fantasy kino

Half life wouldn’t be hard but autism would make reviews unbearable

Only dialogue is the phone and Biker, Jacket never speaks. Just pure drug-fuelled violence

as long as they follow the book and not the vidya

drive, you retard

Life is strange, I can see Netflix doing it

Attached: lis.webm (1024x576, 2.72M)

....you mean like the first game made named rainbow six? Retard.

He said games, not cutscene filled visual novels

Wasn’t much of a narrative in the first game. The novel honestly reads like a modern day political thriller. No idea why it hasn’t been adapted to film yet.

Oh my god I just beat token druid as a mid hunter which isn't special but I'm a rank 15 scrub. I mulliganed like a god and the druid was just shitting out treants and every turn I was making calculated plays. I felt like a pro.

Legendary is already making a series for it

Call of Duty film directed by Micheal
Bay.

It would be one of those movies that critics hate, but viewers love. AKA the best kind of movie

I fantasize about a Dead Space movie directed by Alejandro G. Inarritu with cinematography done by Emmanuel Lubezki. Would be straight up kino.

Everyone always says Drive but Drive never went too heavy on the 80's aesthetics. It was Refn's own beast and a love letter to LA (as well as a brilliant character study), but it isn't the hyperkinetic blood-covered psychopath movie everyone says it is.

To make a proper Hotline Miami movie you'd need something different. Grindhouse-level pulp insanity with insanely bright Suspiria-esque colors and a dreamy, barely-connected plot. There's a whole different midnight animal to be made out of Hotline Miami.

There's a comic adaptation of it that would work pretty well as a basis for a movie adaptation. It's also one of the better Indy comics as well.

Im more of an infernal machine kind of guy

based

i want my gritty crime drama with absolutely irredeemable characters and nauseating digital cinematography.

Casey Affleck as Isaac Clarke
perfect or nah?

DS2 was fantastic, kys

Why are they snogging next to a tornado? Why do they both have colorful hair???

>brilliant character study
why do pretentious losers talk like this? Muh characters study. The movie was just goose being a tryhard badass while being autistic.

>dude when are they going to make movies out of video games that are just knockoffs of movies???

hey it worked great for max payne

Skyrim
Screenplay by D&D

>ayoo Deez fuckin monsters are worse lookin than the broads at Micky's Bah
>Isaac shut your feckin' mouth and bring me a hyperdrive

probably the only guy that played this ITT

Attached: flashback_2.png (512x448, 16K)

It would have all the cheese in the world, but I think I'd like it.

Attached: snes-fzero.jpg (600x419, 113K)

>vidya game movies
when you are too lazy to interact with the story

I'd rather not see it ruined by a movie.

Deus Ex is the perfect vydia to make a movie of but there's no way in hell it will ever happen

Attached: Deus_ex-cover.jpg (953x953, 87K)

the original halo trilogy would be pure kino if it were casted properly

Dead Space blatantly ripped off the most popular sci fi films. Just watch them

because gamergate

not really

Max’s hair is shite brown, mate.

The ending of taxi driver captures the game well enough

>Not even 5 minutes in and it talks about (((them)))
Never ever

Yes really. There's not an original bone in Dead Space

except that's DS3 with him shouting quips along the lines of "I'm too old for this shit"

OBLIGATORY

All the way to 5.

Attached: s-l300.jpg (300x212, 19K)

it's kino already

Should be done by the same people behind RDJs Sherlock Holmes.

would watch

A darkest dungeon movie would be great, first movie is about Vvolf so Reynauld and Dismas as main duo and would end with Swines clifhanger somehow for a second movie.

i dunno tetris lol

well there is a prequel animation movie

Attached: Dead_Space_Downfall_poster.jpg (200x284, 12K)

ZELDA
E
L
D
A

>visual novels
>not cutscene
isn't that the main point of a visual novel?

Denis Villeneuve or fuck off

Attached: MGS.jpg (188x266, 30K)

5 sucked ass

This was gonna get made with Jamie Foxx and Bruce Willis if I'm not wrong.

3 being the worst one of the original trilogy actually helps it be super adaptable. Something like 2 (the best game) is simply too kino to be adapted to the screen and needs to be experienced firsthand and as a sequel to 1.

Hardcore Henry.

Attached: EZ.jpg (1280x720, 55K)

yup. f gary gray was attached to direct. thank god we dodged that bullet.

Attached: Kane___Lynch_1.jpg (467x605, 50K)

Don't you have L4D to play or something, zoomie?

This is where you actually list the influences, friend.

Which was shit, so OP was immediately proven wrong.

Am I one of the only people who actually didn't mind the quantum break gameplay? I thought the powers were pretty cool personally.

Except for there being a car and an autist present, Drive and Hotline Miami are nothing alike. Drive is about some stunt driver dicking around and helping out with robberies. Hotline Miami is about some huge conspiracy aimed to break apart an already shaky Russo-American alliance through coordinated small acts of violence by blue whaling a bunch of random people (technically veterans, but the ambiguity of the first game makes the story cooler)

Original movies > Theater plays > historical events > non-ficion books > fantasy books > comics > videogames
You are a retard.

People not familiar with thr series will immediately associate Metal Gear with Janes Bond. Its even a theme running throughout the game.

If Metal Gear ever happens, its stsrts ehere it began: The Shadow Moses incident.

Cant wait for them to Hollywood the shit out of it and hear the massive crying of the fans,

starring steven seagal

after andromeda i don't think the fans have any tears left to shed

>anything over books
found the overcompensating turbopleb

the monsters themselves, the space mining, the transformation religion, Isaac suit, the guns...

He is right. kill yourself faggot.

Video games > books > movies > tv-series > theater

This. The series ended at 4 as far as I’m concerned

Dead Space wouldn't work as a movie. Most videogames wouldn't work as a movie anyway. Dead Space, as a horror game, requires immersion and exploration, alone, and a sense of immediacy you don't get in a movie. The movie can't be 75 minutes of Isaac wandering dark corridors completely alone while things rattle in vents and sometimes pop out and then some story happens here and there. The closest you could get is adapting Dead Space 2 and adding in a bunch of extraneous characters that would detract from the atmosphere of having to explore a city filled with monsters and the visceral nature of every encounter because there's no fear of you failing and being left in a bad situation.

I'm talking content sources for movies. Movies based on books are never as good as the books m8. But i agree books > movies.

yes, actually.

Attached: social-image.jpg (1200x1200, 327K)

I know, but it could be salvaged with a show. Wesker's idiotic death would have to be wiped, for instance

>video game adaptations

Attached: 7heb.png (720x869, 158K)

I fucking love Dead Space but fuck video game movies you faggot.

WHAT ELSE CAN HOLLYWOOD USE TO CREATE NOW THAT THEYVE MANGLED PRETTY MUCH EVERY BOOK EVER WRITTEN

Yeah, you know, video games? Much greater revenue generator than movies alone?

>4
gonna start playing that again. merc mode was always fun.
>mfw no one knows wtf happened to my gamecube's hdmi cable

Attached: 123526546.gif (500x244, 918K)

No wonder is a transsexual paradise

"No wonder" isn't a game. You're in the wrong thread, fagnon.

get dem shekels rabbi

I played it but I can't remember a damn thing about it.

i miss playing pitfall 2.

>necromorphs
The Thing
>space mining
Literally any sci-fi setting ever.
>Religion
Obvious parody of Scientology.
>Issac Suit
First game is unique, mostly because of its weird ribbed design.
2 and 3 just have Iron Man suits.
>Guns
Repurposed power tools/heavy machinery
