I honestly think leaving is the only way Steven will ever be happy

All of his relationships are toxic and are simply irreparable at this point. Connie rejecting him is just the final thing to push him over the edge, realizing he’s wasted years over someone who would never love him. After his corruption, the best step for him is to realize all this and move on from his life in Beach City, finding his happiness away from the people who have made him miserable.

I'd be happy fucking Peridot and Pearl

The only one making his life miserable and toxic is himself.

>"Don't worry sweetie, at least you still have momma~"

>Connie rejecting him
>"Let's get married."
>"Steven, we're like 12. Not right now."
Is this going to be another Gem/Steven posting thread?

Aren’t they like 19 and 18?
That’s World War marriage age.

Where will he go? Homeworld?

Steven is 17, Connie is 16

>All of his relationships are toxic and are simply irreparable at this point
Other than with his father and mother-figures.

Just saying.

His relationships are fine, Steven is just unable to cope when those people have their own lives and he isn't able to solve their problems and give himself meaning.

I'm sorry but how do you fucks still watch this show?

>Starts SU thinking it'll be a comfy 'Monster of the Week' show.
>Ends up having some cool lore foreshadowed

>Execution ends up being shit.
>Writting spirals downwards trying to tie all the loose ends the shitty execution of their concepts made
>Shitty finale
>Villains made shit

What the fuck is there left in SU? All of their concepts now feel shallow compared to their initial ideas.

All of his relationships are awful, raised by a father who didn’t like getting involved and three emotionally damaged aliens who didn’t respect or understand humanity

It's almost like not everybody is some faggoty smoothbrain who desperately needs action and rates everything as either a 10/10 or a 0/10. Newsflash retard: SU is not regarded as a bad show or even mediocre by the community at large. Flawed yes, but you are most definitely in the minority.

Most people on Yea Forums fucking hate SU

The show feels more mature than it has in a while. Jasper and Steven still need to find peace and move on from the past like everyone else.

>Mentions nothing about action
>Mentions being into the lore before having the writting end up shitting all the good concepts out

>not everybody is some faggoty smoothbrain who desperately needs action and rates everything as either a 10/10 or a 0/10

Honestly I preferred the viv poster.

I'll give future a look then. Deep down I just think that for a show which was building up the gem empire as some gigantic galaxy wide threat to just have them so sloppily written to be 'misunderstood mommies' is shit. Reason why I liked the movie was that there was a sense of urgancy and grit rather than just pissing everything away due to 'Steven said nice things everything is fixed'

Greg only avoided the superheroics, and only early on when Steven thought of it as a game. He was there for the worst of it.

The Gem issues aren’t all that complex when you boil them down, and remember he was 14. Not 8.

Corrupted Steven is totally a Jasper/Steven Fusion. Just saying.

I thought Connie was 15.

She’s 16 as of Future

>entire show about how running away from problems is a bad thing
>ends with Steven running away from his problems

It rhymes.

Technically its Steven struggling with the philosophy he used the entire show, the entire basis of organic life not being wiped out and almost every other being not just being a tool or toy that talks back.

He’s supposed to believe in change, as a teenager he instinctively wants to push barriers, but he can’t let go of the feeling that everyone is leaving him and his job is to be his mother and act like the voice of reason for three unchanging godlike womanchildren for the rest of his life as they rule the universe from afar. He’s supposed to be the paragon of virtue that she wasn’t, and on an unfathomable scale far from comfort and everything he’s ever known.

So he wants to know what his third option for change is, but has no idea. He’s like a lot of the aging Millennials, not knowing where to go from where they are.

We don’t know when he began living with them but even at the beginning of the show, resentment of him was clear in the Gems, it’s also never really good for a kid to be in the middle of that. Frankly, his life would be better if the Gems had never gotten involved

Still doesn't change the fact that he's basically leaving everything to 'find himself'.

His problem is with the people around him, he can’t force change upon, he needs to change himself, and he can’t do that around them.

>Frankly, his life would be better if the Gems had never gotten involved
Got laid, led a comfy life with his son, and wound up rich with no effort. Now he just enjoys spending his money, working a car wash and being a band manager to pass the time.

His theater-owning friend in Empire flat-out said he’d have never caught on back in his youth.

Plus, Garnet liked him and Amethyst was close with him before Rose died.

Him leaving Beach City would be similar to Spinel leaving Earth
He probably would feel he burned bridges and had to start over somewhere new

He’s leaving for a time because he’s avoiding leaving for good.

I was talking about Steven, not Greg.

Pretty sure him and the Earth would have been destroyed, leaving the Diamonds to find Pink Diamond floating through space as a comatose gremlin.

Not to mention he’d have gotten those dreams and kept discovering powers anyway.

They never really helped him with his powers, he learned a shitload on his own, probably calm down the Cluster as it woke up

Just because you leave somewhere to start over doesn't mean that'll change you as a person. Hence how toxic/BPD get tossed around like hot potatos. He'll just be miserable and wanting to fix people somewhere else.

No, but it does mean he can explore new things, reach new perspective and possibly change his habits. It’s just not a good idea for him to be in Beach City anymore. His problem is not being needed, his first step will be doing this for himself.

He grows too slow for human standards but too fast for gems. He's destined to always be alone.

He's 17 and looks like he's 17.

Well that would be fucking retarded then

His age is whatever he feels.

He’ll basically die when he feels like it.

It’s not. Either she wants to spend her life with him or not. If not, he should just move on from her. Find someone else.

the show contradicts this

He is summoned.
Lapiven shitposter.

When? They panicked when they thought he was going to age himself to death.

It’s a much better relationship for Steven than Connverse as Lapis cares about Steven while Connie doesn’t

If it is it’ll be a new human girl we’ll never see again

steven birthday episode and snow day

Steven belongs with me___

Better than Connie. That relationship was a sick joke and I’m glad Rebecca is making the stand for healthy relationships

You have two threads up dude.

Too late. Saw something were Bernie is fucking her.

Snow Day was them guessing right before all of them saying they had no idea anything about how his body works, and the birthday episode is the one that showed he can change his age by emotion. Unless its like the time travel where its not as canon by virtue of “early installment weirdness”.

Haven't watched the show in a bit, did I miss something?

Steven proposes to Connie and she says no in a leak. Connie says no and she wants to live her own life outside him. And that’s how Connverse ends. Good thing too. Such a toxic relationship.

>Connie rejecting him is just the final thing to push him over the edge, realizing he’s wasted years over someone who would never love him.

Wait, when did that happen.

...

How was it toxic?

Connie was perfectly happy to cut Steven out of her life when he upset her and only allowed his presence back in when he apologized to her over not letting her be a hero. She’s just not a good person and Steven will see that and realize he can be happy without her in his life.

It was toxic? Sorry, I just never kept up with anything SU.

...

Same user who's out of touch with SU. Do you think the show's going to address the toxicity of their relationship or will it sweep it under the rug unaddressed like the ending of SVTFOE?

Hopefully they will.

That was back in season 4 and in universe that was like 3 years ago. They seemed fine with each other in season 4. In the movie she even kissed him on the cheek. I see no build up.

*season 5

Season 5 and Steven had spent the timeskip busy with Homeworld while Connie has been focusing on her studies. It’s subtle but a sign that their relationship is already dying.

I don't see that as toxic. One dude had to organize an empire and the other person wanted to catch up on studies. I don't see that as toxic and I thought they hanged out before the time skip or at least that is what I interpreted from the conversation.

It’s already a sign that they’re drifting apart, the rejection is just the finishing touch to them ending the relationship

So the writers decide to do subtle clue that most won't notice into a fucking proposal instead of showing them drifting apart as early as the movie so this doesn't look like they pulled it straight out of their ass?

Connie was barely in the movie, and yeah I guess so. Just glad it’s ending

> he’s wasted years over someone who would never love him.
Are people just pushing this because Connie didn’t want to get married out of the blue like that + be forced to live as a fusion for the rest of her life?

People are talking like Stevens relationships are fucked up and irreperable, but they’re really not, especially considering that all of his problems with people ATM stem from his own insecurity about his future/being scared of change as a result, if he deals with these issues and gets over the there’s really nothing that’s stopping him from keeping healthy relationships with most of the other characters, including Connie.

I know it’s hard to accept but Connie doesn’t love him. Stevonnie and Connverse are both gone forever. But not to waste, because they will help Steven grow.

They can still Fuse in the future. Friendship Fusion.

No, fusing again would just hurt Steven, he should move on and find someone better for him to fuse with

ignore the lapisfag and stevinel shippers, they're retarded

>No, fusing again would just hurt Steven
As much as a metaphor for forcing consent with Sardonyx?

Attached: 0EBEF572-B345-4DB3-8084-99DA6D35DFBC.jpg (750x770, 77K)

Pretty much. Things will never be the same. Connie and Steven’s relationship is over. Stevonnie will never exist again.

She said no to being a perma-Fusion so he’d have the guts to rule the universe.

That’s not even a full romantic rejection, let alone killing a friendship.

Not to mention the theory its just her version of when Steven was trying to protect her by making her think he didn’t want to see her again in the start of S2.

She just doesn’t want a life with him. She wants to move on from her friendship with Steven.

Because I'm a stubborn prick that must see this to its bitter end. Though I called it quits with CYM, stumbling upon the movie one day while watching TV gave me hopes for Future.

I was dead fucking wrong.

I honestly pray to God that SU as a franchise is dead after march. Every time someone goes "Becky still has hundreds of ideas for the show you guys uwu" it sends a chill down my spine. I just want to be free already.

I’d be down for more vidya.

>I am tired of Earth.
>These gems.
>I am tired of being caught in the tangle of their lives.

Doctor Manhattan is a joke. Even Anti-Monitor would be better

Steven’s options:
>Triangle of mom Gems
>Triangle of aunt Gems
>Gem shaped like a triangle
