Is Cobra Kai Season 2 the most anime-like show ever produced in America? The plot, setting, tone, fights, rivalries, etc are pure anime.
Is Cobra Kai Season 2 the most anime-like show ever produced in America? The plot, setting, tone, fights, rivalries...
pretty much.
get ion the other thread and post pictures of Moons moon FAGGOT
I'm just trying to think of anything... anything from the US that has as much of the same logic. Even US anime adaptations come across really western. Whereas this is a very American show based on a popular American movie, but something about the dramas and rivalries and the way they build up to the fights is just straight out of some high school-based anime.
I didn't see another thread.
Although I also just wanted a thread to ask about anime influence in shows and movies. It was really weird and funny to be watching this and getting the strange feeling like I was watching an anime.
the redeemed sensei vs the evil old master is Yea Forums as fuck.
And the soap opera drama.
And the Danny vs Johnny dynamic.
And the whole microcosm of this ridiculous rivalry also happening with two opposed groups of teenagers. Who have regular skirmishes and battles, with absurdly epic music, even. I mean that whole high school rumble scene.
Stingray saved this season
Kreese is so hammy with the disney villain evil. all he needs is a song and dance number.
He's the best thing about the season, other than the sheer ludicrousness of the fights and music which is just top-tier schlock.
First for thiccness
did they cast a girl with better boobs (Tory) but not better ass on purpose? so each one appeals to a different kind of teenager?
Imagine the smell
Yes it is almost live action anime tier. First season was like following a shounen sports storyline then 2nd season seemed liked they were making it into a shoujo storyline. I've watched some jdramas and these types of stories are common in Japan.
yes. Duality, balance in all things
Need more webms of cutie daughter and peyton list
She's hot and cute but I'm definitely a Moon-bro.
*gruff voice*
YOU KNOW THE THING ABOUT STINGRAYS IS
I like how Moon has become a silly hippie this season. I kind of fits her, actually.
Daniel-san's wife turned into such a bitch this season.
>ZOMG MY HUSBAND WANTS TO DO SOMETHING NICE FOR THE KIDS? FUCK THAT SHIT; PAY ATTENTION TO MEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE
Nha bro, Daniel was ruining himself, didn't take care of his job and was obsessing pretty bad with Cobra Kai, he really needed a wake up call.
Also, fuck Sam, that slut is the source of all the problems
Yeah Daniel is being pretty spergy. His heart's in the right place but he overestimated how much a problem Cobra Kai was, or at least until Kreese showed up. But it's partly Daniel's rivalry with Johnny that's creating a lot of the other rivalries and leading to so much of the fights. And some of them had incidental reasons, like relationship drama and stuff, but it all gets exacerbated by the fact that everyone can fight now and they're on rival teams.
Or spergy isn't the right word for the most part, but he's definitely overreacted to or overestimated things at times, but again, not really that big a deal.
But like at the restaurant double date of Johnny, Daniel, and their women, the way Johnny and Daniel were just being petty and childish. There's definitely a bit of that in the mix.
Moon needs a spin off.
Imagine her doing a kundalini sex scene???
It's kinda sad, with that scene in the restaurant and the scene in the bar on the first season you can tell that Daniel and Johnny could have been great friends, they are a couple of 80's kid traped in a world that is everyday more and more strange.....sadly they had too many issues between them. Their relationship as been really interesting (and anime af)
The show definitely implies they could be friends and likes to throw in fanservice-y moments where they bro it up like second-to-last episode of each season. It suggests obviously they'll end up allies and probably friends, but I don't know how long the show will go on after that's established, seems like it'll probably happen in the last few episodes of the series.
Women are like that. They must be the center of attention at all times.
>kundalini sex scene???
With her new gf???
That's one qt mulatto.
Even threw in some Yuri.
Threadly reminder Hawk is on the spectrum and thus Dimitri was in the wrong for assault
Dimitri was always wrong about everything.
It was cute watching Hawk get the girl etc but let's be honest, he's basically Linkin Park edgecore: the person.
yeah it is essentially a live action anime
Daniel: "Johnny!"
Johnny: "Daniel!"
*camera spins dramatically around them facing each other*
In unison: "I will challenge you... and I will win!"
*intense anime music stats playing*
Sam is almost as fat as the girl whose entire character revolves around being fat, who lost like 60 pounds between seasons while sam did nothing but eat burgers like a true american
Stop ripping off Death Note, user.
Sam is at that very threshold of acceptability. A little thicker and she'd be a fatty. But as she is she's just delicious and in a sweet spot.
"So... you think that your aggressive Cobra Kai tactic will defeat me... But I will use my very passivity to my advantage! As you circle, you weave the very web in which you will be caught!"
*apocalyptic choir starts chanting*
...To Be Continued
*anime ending credits start playing*
Considering the series' boomer status, would Roundabout be an acceptable ending theme?
That would work pretty well.
I like actually how much they use heavy metal in the show, and like trad metal like WASP type stuff.
I loved the dream sequence / music montage with Whitesnake.
I don't find her attractive regardless, I have more of a problem that this bitch is not that good an actor and yet now that she landed a role in a martial arts show she did nothing but eat twinkies, even the chick whose obesity is part of her character exercised between seasons
Is it worse than season 1?
Season 1 is maybe a more properly 'good' season of television, but as we're discussing in this thread, Season 2 is like a ridiculously fun anime. It has a really cheesy, absurd quality but it's used to great effect.
Exept when he had no hopes in life and just wanted to be a bottom bitch and die.....he was pretty right about that.
Felt strange watching the restaurant scenes with the characters getting wasted and then driving their cars back home
Not because it wouldnt happen in rl but maybe because everything is so pc right now that it was worth noting
I went to high school with a girl just like Tory, she actually liked me and showed plenty of interest. I was too much a pussy to follow up. I'd think about it throughout the years here and there, I'm 26 now and just finished watching season 2 of cobra kai realizing what I missed out on. It's tough...
What I liked about the first season was its grounded moments, though. It had some legitimately good character writing. Season 2 sounds like bad news. I was expecting as much given the Kreese reveal at the end of the first season. I'll watch anyway.
Implying Cobra Kino needed saving in the first place.
A lot of what was good in Season 1 is still there, and it always had the embrace of cheesiness and anime-like guilty pleasure. That's just a little more pronounced, but I wouldn't say in a bad way.
I liked how this season continues to poke fun at 'woke' culture. Tory is best girl by the way. She's ride or die.
Could have done without game of thrones references
Made me kek
Yeah, the show feels pretty reasonably centrist-ish. Like obviously Johnny will be redeemed and have a bit more heart and mercy, but in just a chill actually moral way, not in becoming woke or something. The show definitely still seems to casually dismiss/mock wokeness, while still having a variety of different types of characters in a way that isn't hamfisted or preachy.
>trans wha---
It's pretty obvious Johnny is going to join Myagi to help fight against cobra kai with his son
did robbie sexed her
did miguel sexed tory
>want to watch season 2
>know it's gonna be redemption arc for white kid
>final episode
>tournament
>he beats mexican kid in the final, takes home the trophy and the girl
>daniel and bullyman hug it out, episode ends with one final bout between the two
>credits
far too predictable. not even being ironic when I say this, the series should focus more on that nigga hawk. that kid is goat.
I'm gay as christmas but damn even I would give that a go.
I wish I had dreams like this.
The current thing going on with Jeopardy is basically One Outs.
none of what your wrote happened. It's a romance arc this season
I think that Johnny and Daniel are going to conceive of or embrace a philosophy that balances the two, activeness and passiveness. There's already been a lot of indication in a lot of the contrast depicted in the montages that they're heading towards this Yin/Yang balance thing.
I think even on a more lowkey level thr show is positing this balance as solution to the culture wars... that you need to learn a little bit from Johnny and a little l bit from Daniel, but that too far in the Kreese direction or in the pussyish woke direction is out of balance.
>basically One Outs
Really now?
I was hoping for some cold nips to be shown here
asian dude is on the left
I can't stand that clumsy faggot nerd kid.
>mfw episode where robbie and sam have to learn to synchronize dance/fight
when does season 3 come out bros? I want to see Johnny and Daniel team up against Kreese.
>PFFT I knew it.
Johnny is
C U T E
U
T
E
>There's already been a lot of indication in a lot of the contrast depicted in the montages that they're heading towards this Yin/Yang balance thing.
This seemed pretty obvious to me, and I'm a brainlet. I hope you're right.
Also checked.
Next season will probably using the power of friendship to defeat Kreese
2020 next spring desu.
Predictions for S3 cobra kai bros?
Calling it now, Hawk is gay
Aieesha is trans
Is it me or the show promotes underaged drinking just a bit too much?
This is my prediction.
She will fix Miguel.
FFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU
two dojos competing with eachother and friendships and classes being broken up and divided among the rivalries is a great premise that should be used more often.
This is great. Loving the boomer bits
>Sam is getting fatter and becoming deliciously thicc
>hambeast is loosing weight and becoming deliciously thicc
I feel the architects hand at work here brothers
i think youre right, because hes about the only thing i liked.
i didn't like watching Cobra Kai get its ass kicked all season because of Miyagi Do plot armor
Stingray is a faggot, just another dipshit mall cop dork.
Okay, it's become more predictable than the first season, but it was still gud, I mean, I love that they added a bit more depth to the characters, they get to be less gray on one hand and the other.
It's hard to take a 'side' because every character is flawed, there is no single 'good' vs 'bad' guys.
This series I had to bing watch, I had no other option.
On the other hand the bonding between LaRusso and Johnny is inconsistent.
I really wanna know what happens next, whether there will be a fight against Kreese or it's just a fake spoiler
ew... Have you seen her teeth?
its such an overused trope but he plays it great.
>i hate the patriots too
Sam gets a black bf. Please God, make this happen! I need it!
How are you gonna balance out a philosophy that was always about balance? It’s what Miyagi always said. Daniel just needs to cool down a little.
Shut up, jew.
Leave this one show to us.
Does no one want to see more of the qt mullatoo piper? damn she was so sexy am I right fellow brothers????
I'm not gonna fuck her teeth brother. I'm in it for the brapper
I mean okay, you do you tiger.
capped because both are likely true. Also there will not be a single successful WMWF relationship MtF with FtM doesn't count
It's only logical, that ass is too much for any small-dicked whiteboi to handle.
Women have no concept of duty, courage, or honor. All that matters to them is what they want.
fuck off kike
So I wasn't the only one who thought of EVA.
Really. Pro gambler James Holzhauer has been using his abilities to dominate Jeopardy. In 14 days he's already made a million dollars cutting the previous million streak time in half, and you can tell that throwing his opponents off is part of his strategy.
Can we at least agree the series is better than the original movies?
It should also be noted those predictions are not jokes as they can both come to be very easily and still not fuck up the characters too much. Thats the scary part.
> Hawk never cared about his lip, he was just insecure because muh gay
> Aiyeeshanoique is large and aggressive to be more masculine.
Bit by bit anime is turning into reality.
Well obviously.
Didn't take either as a joke my dude, for exactly the reasons you listed.
He gets a rival during this streak I'll be convinced my life is some kind of anime inspired coma dream.
>Johnny's old gang getting together in episode 6
Come the fuck on. Stop making me feel bad for the bullies from an 80's action movie.
>tag it hashbrowns badass
That's funny, for Johny.
>god I wish she'd beat me up
>Bloodsport
I wanna watch it now.
10/10 prediction
*heems you*
That cruel summer cover was so shitty in the end.
>All those shitskins
America is a disaster
The end fight scene was so shit and went on for waaaay too long
ITS A CRUEL, CRUEL SUMMER!
I thought it worked, plus I love the
original now that I've heard it.
>No I already own it. Cassette's in the car
Kek
>No, I already own it
Based boomer.
Go back to /pol/ you basement dwelling white 'suprumuceest'
I loved it. At last something character driven that tries to make passing judgment hard for every character.
Pretty much had forgotten what it was like watching a show and not getting some yaas queerious bullshit shoved in my fucking face.
Are you man enough to flip the script?
Of course she did. She's a natural cobra.
With Sam I have no problem with her attractiveness or the actress... she's what's-her-name from Stranger Things-tier. She's the designated innocent girl who's actually guilty of pretty much everything that has gone down and always dodges responsibility and punishment.
Based stingray.
I actually think this is foreshadowing.
Johnny is seeing himself in a white version of his Cobra Kai gi. White, like traditional Karate, but sleeveless like Cobra Kai. A balance.
Deepest lore.
something seem'd very off and set up about the last lady johnny was hitting it off with then ditched. i guarantee she comes up again when he meets with his highschool sweetheart
TEAM RED
>you’re like Drake
>I don’t want to be Drake
Cobra Kino
This whole show is boomer kino isn't it?
Fuck I might watch it.
Just say you know nothing about cinematography user. All the actors did their own fighting, the long takes with transitions between the fighters were great, choreography was solid except for anything Sam did. The fuck you're even doing in this board.
There is no tournament for starters.
And Daniel and Johnny end up in even worse place by season end
You really should.
thats the woman from the first ep of season 1 when he's hanging her tv
Oh yeah
I'm 30 and love it
Im not even giant fan of original series
Saw original once decades ago and none of movie sequals
Nah, the one that bumped into him to buy him a beer. Totally his kind of girl, so even weirder he ditched her.
nevermind i'm retarded
He doesn't mean that one.
He means the one that bought him a beer and seemed like a "perfect match"
Also 30, also not a huge fan of Karate Kid; I was more of a Rocky guy.
This shit look legitimately good though.
why is this just like the game of thrones scene? you know the one
kek'd
I know stingray gets alot of love but I liked Tory alot.
Miguel is a shit for not sticking with crazy chick who just wants to fuck all day and would kill a bitch for even looking at him
I want her to slap me with her tits, desu.
Oh shit, are you me.
Way more into Rocky as well
Anyways give show a chance it's good.
Might struggle with some of the early teen drama in season 1, but they find a balance eventually
Nah, definitely hottest girl in the show but she's too cartoony. Almost no redeeming qualities, just straight up psycho girlfriend. Can't root for her. Also she essentially got Miguel Sub Zero'd.
>straight up psycho girlfriend
How is that not a redeeming quality in itself. All I ever wanted was a girl who loved me so much she'd murder any other girl who even looked at me
You'll need best tit-cow for that senpai
Ew
Give her a season or two and her calories will be perfectly balanced
does this show have good choreography
its decent considering its mostly kids whom have never done karate before
Yeah, but not so much hong kong style, think more American based martial arts movies and shows. Like old school Chuck Norris with more modern camera work.
improves over time.
The final fight scene of season 2 was pretty gud
Tip top zippity zop kek
Power Rangers choreography.
She's already slimmed down quite a bit from S1 & I think they're trying to make her fatter on purpose for her character. When they were doing the cement mixer for instance.
The choreography itself is not that bad, but the execution is usually too slow and awkward. Still fun though and it has it's stand-out scenes.
how is that thicc
She's got a wide ass with fat on it.
you're fucking retarded.
How is it not? You know not all thicc girls are hambeasts right?
Beats this crap.
t. virgin that doesn't interact with girls
You shoot one baby into this jewish breeding machine and it's over.
Season proved beyond any doubt Larusso and Myagi-Do are the biggest assholes.
Sure Creiss is a piece of shit but he admits it gladly. Sure Hawk did some awful stuff but he tried to resist, had some limits and shown a huge amount of patience and tolerance compare to what we could expect from him. Sure Tory is a psychobitch but she was wronged.
On the other hand
> Daniel-san is a litteral psychopath meaning he has trouble understanding basic emotions, ignore people when his interest isn't in play and overeact all the time. Why attack Johnny when he sheltered his drunk daughter ? He's an asshole.
> Robbie is a dick, afraid of Miguel, ressorting to lies to keep him away, punishing his real dad and mom while exploiting his new family and brealing their trust by secretly dating the daughter. And of course killing attempt on Miguel who showed mercy.
> Sam is a typical bitch who doesn't know what she wants, push people away thanks to dad stererotypes, cheat on boyfriend, break the trust her parents have in her... and she acts like she's a saint.
Miguel was wrong for kissing Sam but that's it, he immediatly regrets it and don't have any opportunity to apologize to Tory.
Now what I find stupid is how Creiss don't see how Cobra Kai is going to get closed anyway because obviously the town won't accept karate clubs after what happened at the highschool
>the most anime-like show
apparently you haven't watched the source material for the show which is a 80's family action movie
Actually I think she gets less stupid and annoying in season 2 compare to 1. She's completly right at every turn. I regrt Anthony wasn't redpilling karatefags this season.
Moon needs to found her own dojo
This. I really like her for what she is plus she's not too easy on the eyes either am I right fellas?
Dimitri beating Hawk was pure bullshit. He managed to be a bigger asshole than Hawk by being petty and insulting while Hawk actually showed a lot of patience.
And he beated Hawk because plot.
I felt like season 1 choregraphy was more inspired
>Dimitri
i can't stand this faggot, Hawk is an asshole but he didn't deserve to be dealing with such a whiny little fag
We need a Virgin Dimitri vs Chad Hawk meme
I think Dimitri outing hawk was bit shitty, and also, dimitri is the worst good guy or he will become the worst. Cap this.
Agree. Hate Demitri.
Soft agree. Definitely hated Robbie and Sam. She's just a goddamned karma houdini.
Also am I the only one who thinks it would be interesting to see a little bit of the other Karate Dojos in the valley? At least the Topanga guys. They had some cool moves. Would be interesting to see how a neutral dojo reacts to the Cobra vs Miyagi rivalry and what it does to Karate's image in the Valley.
thanks
BRICK NO HIT BACK.
cringe, kys.
This show literally makes fun of you libtard
The Virgin Dimitri
> huge nerds with no muscles
> can't sand the floor
> even Sam avoid his touch
> publicly shame people even when they show patience
> got kicked out of Cobra Kai. TWICE.
> so lame he made Daniel doubt himself
> running away is the default mod, even after learning karate
> look like a penis, never use his
> find female Doctor "badass"
The Chad Hawk
> Can't be restrained by petty things like honor, loyalty or even his own name
> Tried patience and showing mercy before unleashing hell on his ennemis
> Porked Moon
> Have a badass tatoo
> Porked Moon, a lesbian
> Have crazy moves with jumping assaults
> I mean, the real goddam MOON, best chick in the show
> Never admits defeat, even if Sensei tells you to
> Haircut
> Did I mention he porked Moon ?
Here's a ranking of the anime level in characters
1. MOON
2. Tory
3. Hawk
4. Robbie
5. Daniel
6. Sam
7. Miguel
8. The nice nigger
9. Johnny
Also Kreese is outside competition, he's not a real character
Moon is definitely the token cute retard anime character that does nothing wrong and Tory is a yandere
Why no tournament this season ?
Every arc can't be tournament arc, do you even into battle shounen?
>do you even into battle shounen?
Yes ?
when it showed kreese demonstrate that spinning back kick before it cut off was absolute kino
Holy shit
Then you should know there's more to it than the tournament.
Shouldn't you be praying to Mecca, frenchie?
... no ? Everything is a tournament in Yuyu except the one arc nobody liked
There's only two tournaments in YuYu Hakusho, what the fuck are you smoking?
Yuyu Hakusho is:
> few chapters trying to be a detective manga but failed
> a tournament to decide who's gonna be Genkai disciple
> a short mission in hell
> a HUGE never ending tounament
> a short failed try to introduce stands ending up with beating up a fag
> a tournament in hell
the world is gonna end by then FUCKKKK
>a tournament in hell
That never happened though, it was off-screened during a time-skip.
This. Poo Poo Hackusho is a pretty shit, overrated anime.
pleb opinion. Pat is the GOAT
you dont belong on this board with such a glaring hole in your kinotwa
I wish I had a Moon pic to block your path with
Here is your tournament.
streamable.com
>dude just bump into her and buy her a beer
>she does it to him
Kino keeps happening.
I love how it plays
* generic SJW girl*
> It's important to be tolerant towards all of our peers and to be nice and blah blah...
*Tory steals the mic*
> SAM YOU FUCKING BITCH YOU'RE DEAD COME FIGHT ME !
What do you think will happen in season 3 with the "love of his life" coming back ?
Also how Daniel-san will take it ?
Daniel-san is happily(?) married, surely it will be fine.
Hopefully they act like adults. I'm really hoping there is an episode where Mike Barnes comes back, trashes Daniel's car dealership, and then goes to prison.
Daniel finna ruin his marrige just to cuck Johnny once again
>Ankle boots
Know how I know Sam's a thot?
Season 3 predictions:
> Kreese goes full old time Cobra Kai
> but it backfires because angry parents don't want to hear about Karate after the highschool fight
> Cobra Kai goes under, the extremist students like Hawk, Tory or Fat Guy keep coming secretly but Kreese lose interests when he realises he can take no glory from it and leave.
> Hawk still won't give up, still think Myagi-Do is the problem and launch punitive strikes after punitive strikes, especially on Dimitri.
> Daniel first don't want to have anything to do with Karate but Robbie and Sam (who made up but won't date eachother) push him to act against Hawk&Co and reform Myagi-do to stop them.
> This, added to the return of Bitch #1, is the last straw for his wife, divorce ensue.
> Johnny meets Bitch #1, reconnects, realise she's single again, realise he still loves her, realise she still loves Daniel, rage.
> Miguel comes back as ANGRY MIGUEL, take the lead from Hawk, recreates a new Cobra Kai and ask Johnny to be the sensei but he refuses.
> When Johnny learns Daniel is divorcing, he assumes it's for being with Bitch #1 and he comes back to Cobra Kai, angry version.
> Ends up in a tournament with both dojos being allowed back because public powers have goldfish memory tier.
But I am shipping Lawrence and Miguel's mom so Robbie and Miguel will be bros
Daniel was completely ignoring his job which puts food on his family's table. His best sales guy left for a competitor when all Daniel had to do was show up and match his offer. He couldn't even do that. His wife was stuck running everything by herself while Daniel played kick club [for free] with some kids.
She had every right to be pissed off.
the real question is: Why no Mike Barnes ?
This.
Daniel has a top tier wife, not just stunning beautiful even in her age but also understanding, capable and patient.
He'd be an asshole for dropping her for a love interest from decades ago.
Then again, he's Daniel and might actually be that kind of an asshole.
any mega yet?
>He'd be an asshole
Key words here.
He is.
He admitted to creeping her profile in season 1. He still has an old flame burning.
I hate the 20 minutes format though. I feel like I watched an half-season and I never believe when an episode ends.
it's on tpb
Why are they not using the theme song from Karate Kid tho? They went through every catchy 80's tune they have, and still no theme song. Do they not have the rights or what?
Overall, the most positive thing about this show is that the episodes are short.
>Multiple Threads the past couple of days
>Extraordinary event in which the vast majority of Yea Forums actually likes something.
>Not one mention of the Executive Producer who made this kino happen.
I JUST WANT SEASON 3 ALREADY!
>Overall, the most positive thing about this show is that the episodes are short.
I noticed that too actually, I just thought it was some one else. Jaden cameo when?
how much say does he really have though?
You mean mister Blue ?
Hawk will probably get Tory
Chozen needs to come back before Barnes. He still has a real score to settle with Daniel.
What a downgrade from Moon
Mike is already in the show, he's Johnny boss in S01E01
ASS VS BOOBS
DAY VS NIGHT
god bless this man
Not sure. He and his wife were supposedly crucial to getting the show greenlit though.
>Season 3
>Cobra Kai losing ground in the battle
>Two key Cobras injured before the tourney
>Well, there's this kid from China who wants to join.
>We hear he's a real power hitter
>mfw
>That shitty trigger discipline.
cobra strike first mentality has no time for safety
So was it all Sam's fault?
>that smug face and abhorrent trigger discipline
I bet this pic was taken after a long sucky sucky session in the jungle
*honk*
No it's Daniel
but my understanding was it was someone or two that did hot tub time machine and that they are being trusted with the name/brand
Why did they make my boi Hawk the bad guy?
He's not
>those hawk sound effects thrown in
kino
I mean pretty much.
>Wrecks Johnny's car in S1:E1
>Doesn't tell anyone
>Teehee, fuck poor people.
>Result is Johnny re-opening Cobra Kai dojo
>Gets shithoused at a party while multiple characters tell her to slow it down with the drinking.
>Drunk as fuck
>Kisses ex.
>Leads to ex getting paralyzed and possibly killed when current bf knocks him off a balcony.
>Teehee, fuck poor people.
miguel is from equador
this, daniel has always been the bully
Moon is hot af but a race mixer. She’s banging Miguel IRL
>Wrecks Miyagi-do Dojo
>Literally steals a dead war hero's medal of honor
>Awards himself the medal of honor
>Vandalizes a vehicle Daniel's dead father figure gave him out of love.
Yeah, sounds like a real paragon of virtue.
this, also she was a complete cunt to jump to conclusions that the other girl stole her mom's wallet
Thanks user, I'll add that in there the next time I have to explain it.
He does what other tells him to do.
When Kreese said wreck, he wrecks
When Johnny said wait, he waits
Robbie is a wanted criminal again and Miguel might be wheelchair bound, so yes its her fault.
No one told him to steal the medal. Even Kreese, being a military man probably would have thought that was crossing the line.
God I hate her. This show is really good because I actually give a damn about the characters
To be fair, I think we were all expecting her to have stolen the wallet.
> Kreese
> Line
There's no lines for a cobra !
Kreese should've probably kicked the shit out of Hawk for that, screaming "Stolen Valor" all the way.
> Kreese, being a military man
Should be obvious by now Kreese may have guarded the inside of a vietnam septic tank and had no other value than that to the army.
I know. I'm old and expected some fun nostalgia and maybe some good fight scenes. I actually ended up caring and really enjoying the new / young characters just as much as the old ones.
Take notes, Disney.
No ? A girl stealing a vodka bottle doesn't want money, she wants a dick.
>Gender WHAT? Is this a prank call?
This. Despite Johnny and Daniel being really good, you actually care for the young ones even when the actor is terrible (*kof* Robbie *kof*). This show works.
If Daniel was making money from the karate I bet she wouldn't care as much. The fact that he is doing it for free at the expense if his job rightfully pisses her off.
Miguels acting has improved compared to Season 1 though.
This. I think that's why Hawk didn't tell Kreese about it.
It was established that Kreese was a legit Green Beret and Army Karate Champion 1970 - 1972. Although, he was almost certainly lying about the stuff that happened after the 80s.
based
youtu.be
I love this show for the redpills
When Dimitri come to Cobra Kai and meets Kreese, with his long awful speech about "ground rules" I was expecting to get the "fresh prince of bel-air" scene with the nigger friend being kicked out of the house every episode.
Miguel was pretty much ok in season 1 too. Robbie is just painful. Sam too but it's part of her charecter I guess.
The moment Miguel fell from the stairs, I already wanted to see the next season.
That was brutal. Expected yet still powerful.
I lol'd hard at this.
Funniest moment was when Johnny and Daniel ended up on an impromptu double date at the restaurant.
>"Oh my god I must have gone through a boy a week back then"
>Johnny snickers while casting a glance at Daniel who is visibly upset
She’s gonna be huge by season 3
>I actually ended up caring and really enjoying the new / young characters just as much as the old ones.
Because they don't feel so fucking shoe-horned in, and the show is still at its core all about Johnny.
That's where Disney went wrong, they just did a bait and switch. They killed off Han, they killed off Luke, and now nobody's watching. The new characters are insufferable and one-note, you don't care about their motivations because they don't feel like people, they feel like plot devices.
>That sound effect when his spine hit the rail
No
karate kid 1>karate kid 2>kobra kai>>>karate kid 3>>>>>>>the new karate kid>the one with the black kid and Jackie chan
Who /bestgirl/ here?
Current wife is strong #2 though.
looking for the pasta
don't forget Johnny btfoing that roastie at the bar
Subtle but a very important redpill
Was the book on Okinawan history meant to imply that Robbie has ditched town and flown to Japan to atone and power up? I'm guessing that's why we didn't see him at all during the ending sequence.
i hope she comes back, she was 10x better than ali
Stingray is a boss monster

no, it meant to imply that Robbie had really taken Miyagi-do to heart and wanted to know more about it beyond just the fighting bits

just add this at 1:33

No, I think it was to show that he was all-in on Miyagi-do and had truly devoted himself to following Daniel's path.
Stingray is the best fighter. He won against Miguel.
Johnny is leagues ahead of Daniel in Cobra Kai in terms of writing and movie consistency though. The only time where I thought they were both on par is when they went out for drinks in season 1 and talked about Ali.
Maybe it's due to the lack of Miyagi but nearly all the LaRusso bits pale in comparison to the Lawrence scenes. Daniel's rivalry with Johnny/Cobra Kai feels a bit forced considering how he quickly forgot about that in the sequels. The dude got in a literal death match in Okinawa and then fought a psycho Vietnam vet. Johnny and his McDojo school should be the last thing on his mind.
He doesn't have the means to book a flight to Japan.
Daniel had a much stronger character in Season 2. I actually found myself sympathizing with him a lot more than I did in Season 1.
Fuck no. Karate Kid 1 is top-tier kino and you can't beat Pat and the scene where he breaks down about his wife and son. Music was GOAT too. Karate Kid 2 also had Peter Cetera and qt3.14 Kumiko.
This
Pretty sure they used it in season 1 when Daniel and Robby were training
It does feel like KK2 didn't happen. After all he was much tougher and stronger in this movie and reverted to a wimp in KK3.
Cobrai Kai continuity pretty much skip KK2
Not to mention KK1 absolutely stood the test of time. It is just as good when you watch it today as it was back when it was released.
Would you just look at those breasts
Nah it's good man. I mean, it's really self aware, you have to watch it with your tongue in your cheek for sure.
Nobody has been this wrong since neville chamberlain declared peace in our time like a week before hitler invaded czechoslovakia
>PROOF THAT DINOSAURS BUILT THE PYRAMIDS
>... I knew it
It's not inconsistent, when they're distracted from their rivalry they get on great, but then something happens that redraws the line in the sand.
I agree about the character depth though. We get a full season of the characters rather than half a season of setup like in the first.
Kreese is treated just the way he deserves to be treated.
does johnny's drinking become a plot point or just stay something he does?
He just drinks beer like a normal person.
Just a character trait. He's a pretty high functioning alcoholic. Daniel does rip on him a little for his preference for cheap shitty domestic beer though.
>Wakes up
>Before his eyes are open, he finds the least empty beer can from the night before
>Bottoms up.
I'm a borderline alcoholic myself but even I have never done this.
Of course he did. A true cobra strikes at the right moment. A true cobra strikes when he has the advantage. Not head on like Miguel.
Dude you're thirsty in the morning, beer is good for you
This. Stingray understood every lesson perfectly and applied them flawlessly.
What was up with Stingray duct taping two 40 oz bottles to his hands at the party? Is that a thing kids do these days?
>Is that a thing kids do these days?
It's a thing he thinks kids do these days
He's a party animal and he's not there to share his booze with the kids.
Or, apparently, his big titty GF. Who suddenly disappeared right after the drinking competition.
Fuuuck I want a woman like that
True cobras don’t need hands to be deadly
She left because she couldn’t handle that we don’t cheer for miyagi-dorks
He himself lied about re-enlisting after the original Cobra Kai went bust.
He was a Greet Beret and a captain, so he must've actually been a pretty good soldier.
In karate kid 3, it was confirmed that Kreese was a war hero and combat veteran.
Kreese never respected Mitagi (racist against Asians) so it’s doubtful that he’d consider Miyagi’s Medal of Honor as being legitimate or properly earned to begin with.
>gentlemen, we need Harrison Ford for this role but he's a bit out of our budget. we need a low-rent version of Harrison Ford that looks like he has a drinking problem.
>got ya covered senpai
> gentlemen, we have Harrison Ford for his most famous role and he costs us an arm in budged. We need to kill him off without any meaningfull acting !
New thread when?
It's okay sir. I've got this.
Will she be uncensored in the blu rays?
Remember when he high fives hawk? That shit was cash.
