The script was a Frankenstein that cut out some of Logan worst ideas. You can read the emails in wikileaks, the producers literally begged to Purvis and Wade to come back and save the movie.

Also P&W wrote a very cool scene in a poker table (the scene where Blofeld and Bond talk about their father), but Mendes changed it for the brain torture thing, while almost hiding the "we are like brothers" part but wothout taking it out, so the final film is more confusing and pointless than ever.
