I kinda like this design, feels more inspired by Sonic SatAM then rubberhose-era cartoons like the other beta designs or finalized Spinel. I feel like this would be a Spinel owned by some edgy Black Diamond character.

This one is my favorite.

This is a cool design, but for Spinel it just doesn't work. Here, she looks more like an adult, and the entire point of Spinel is that she's supposed to be a cutesy child-hood friend.
Seriously, imagine having this older-looking design clinging onto a teen Steven and talking about playing tag or some shit, it would be kind of fucking creepy.

Looking through this thread, they certainly dodge many bullets with these horrendous designs - and owe it big once again to the japanese for making the show to not look like garbage and sell it well with the animation.
