Someone else's idea called Sonic Skyline.
Mobians live on floating continents in the sky while humans (sans Eggman) are stuck below, like in the ova.
Sonic grows up a streetrat until Eggman (a mechanical Willy Wonka) helps him & gives him magic shoes to run on clouds. Grown up, Sonic works for the Freedom Fliers who deliver across all the floating continents (zones). Eggman asks Sonic to take a detour to find the CE which he thinks are on the hidden Angel Island so Eggman can raise the human kingdoms to the sky aswell (yeah right). On his 1st stop, Sonic crashes the plane by Tails' workshop & partners with him. 2nd is Angel Island, they fight Knuckles who agrees to lead them to the other CE at the ME's behest (prophecy shit). From there it's monster of the week stuff for the 1st season, but meeting characters from the cast aswell. They fight Monstrous guardians, Rouge, The Hooligans, Witchcarters & Badniks sent to scout for the CE. Amy meanwhile, doing a bakery delivery to Sol, is roped into helping Princess Blaze alongside Marine/Cream/Mighty/Honey on a sea-faring quest to capture Iblis/return it to within Blaze's soul & does Rush Adventure type shit along the way that ties into the boy's quest (fighting Captain Whiskers/Captain Metal/The Kraken Arena) & so they become friends along the way with Blaze opening up to them n' stuff

Part II

Having collected all 7, the last taken from Blaze by force, the boys return home & are betrayed by Eggman, who almost roboticises Sonic, but the trio manage to escape with the CE. Eggman uses the succesful operation to launch Metal Sonic & an army of Badniks who'll roboticise the population, then sends his fleet to capture the ME from Angel Island. MS attacks the trio when they're hiding at Cream's house, using Cream as a hostage, CD style, before they defeat it & learn of the plan. While Blaze rallies royal troops against the badnik army (& the freedom fliers turn into a guerilla resistance group, etc.), the trinity come up with a scheme to short-cicuit Eggman's ultimate mecha - which is using the ME to create a storm gigantic enough to destroy the Land of The Sky - using the CE. This backfires last minute but in the process accidentally triggers all 3 into Super transformations. They defeat Eggman, peace is restored, Sonic is sentenced to a year of community service destroying the remaining Badniks for stealing from Princess Blaze. Their character arcs are Tails growing confident in himself, Knuckles learning to accept when he just can't win a fight, Sonic learning to be a hero instead of Eggman's errand boy. Post-credits is Eggman, down below again, planning to use Sonic's DNA to create Shadow/Mephiles.

Basically it's a lighthearted, furry Avatar told from Zuko's perspective.

An anthology of disconnected Sonic shorts with different teams making their own spin. Kind of like what tmnt did.

Yeah, those are additional features to the characters, not a different artstyle. Give OVA Sonic a scarf & fur over his stomach, he'd look the exact same. Same with Knuckles & the war paint, or Tails & the goggles. It's the same classic artstyle, like in Megadrive or Mania Adventures

As someone who does like the style in the Skyline image, it's totally not the same art style as the OVA. At all.

Hahahaha, no. OVA is drawn completely differently. For starters, the OVA always keeps some curl to Sonic's spikes. Here, they're drawn straight. The OVA draws the eyes as black ovals with highlights/light relections, whereas here the pupils are pure white. The OVA has thin arms for the anthros all the throughout them, whereas here they start thin and get thicker, or are drawn more realisticly in the case of Rouge. The coloring and shading is completely different as well. Also, Mania Adventures doesn't look a thing like the OVA, and it's actually TRYING to get that look, this is clearly its own thing.

Sonic goes on weekly adventures to stop Dr. Eggman, with a continuity so that there can be multi-part season finales to plots that were building in the background of the show. Think Jackie-Chan Adventures in terms of format. Aesthetics/World building from the Adventure Era. Normal human world with Anthros around, Dr. Eggman is evil genius who wants to be recognized as the world's greatest scientific genius, but is constantly thwarted by Sonic. GUN exists, etc. Pretty easy

SKyline style has a more chibi art aesthetic than the OVA. Look at how angular and round the characters are compared to the designs in teh OVA. SOnic is all triangular in SKyline but OVA sonic is a lot more circular.

Sonic the Hedgehog jumps out of the TV to help kids playing videogames with their personal problems but he almost always either makes things worse or deals with it in a sociopathic way.

Examples:
>Kid is being bullied at school. He goes home to play videogames and then Sonic jumps out of the TV. They hatch a plan to "get" the bully by pushing him down a flight of stairs and making it look like an accident. This happens and the bully breaks his neck and has to stay in the hospital for a year and repeat his classes. The kid feels a little bad but Sonic is like "Nah man ,now you never have to see him again and he totally deserved it for being such a dick." and the kid agrees with him.

Kid gets mad t sonic for giving him false hope Sonic is like "Whoops, my bad!" and jumps back into the TV where he's safe from getting his ass kicked. Grandma dies and kid curses Sonic the Hedgehog.

I wanted a new Sonic show that’s different as fuck which Boom failed to. My ideal Sonic show would be a Combination of Adventures of Sonic the hedgehog, The Sonic OVA and the Recent Sonic Movie. As it follows The titular Blue Blur transported into a Wierd Alien world after Robotnik use a Teleporting Gun to zap him into this New world. And now Sonic has to find a way to get back at Green hill along with a help of Tails who is a Street inventor in this world and Amy who is Drastically changed for this show for that she isn’t even a hedgehog but a alien cyclops girl that follows and stalks Sonic Yandere style.

Rather than tie ourselves down to one setting or even story, here’s a show that can take Sonic and his friends anywhere, and any time, two-parter where Sonic is in the Wild West fighting the Eggman gang? It’s here, Sonic but he works as a private detective? Tune in, and yes we can even do Sonic on South Island helping his animal pals. I think Sonic is a strong enough character and design to work in as many imaginative scenarios as possible. And not mercilessly wanked over by lorefags
