>cheap looking programmes
>swamp thing cancelled after one episode
>unavailable outside America
>limited app availability on devices
Was this the biggest flop of last year? Disney+ is going to shit all over it.
Cheap looking programmes
People dont care about DC. The only care about the Batman universe
>Was this the biggest flop of last year?
Greatest fraud of the year for sure.
I wouldn't even know if this was a thing if it wasn't for Yea Forums. The marketing for this was pathetic.
The new AT&T service this is being folded into is going to bomb too, it's outrageously expensive.
>Marvel makes service for comics only, $7,99
>"BASED MARVEL! MAKE MINE MARVEL!"
>DC makes a service for comics, movies, TV series and original content, $7,99
>"THIS IS ABSURD AND A SHAM AND A FLOP! I HATE DC!"
>DC makes a service for comics, movies, TV series and original content
>few nostalgia baits
>almost no comics
>shitty originals
Gee, i wonder what went wrong.
So, just another example of DC copying Marvel and failing? Oh no.
No one complained about DC Streamings price as much as it just wasn't compelling to watch a bunch of old DC shit. I own all the watchable old DC shit I want to watch (which is actually a decent amount). But the old Burton/Donner/cartoon shows have been in constant syndication a lot of people's entire lives.
And there just wasn't enough new good shit to justify buying into it. Now go grab some tissues and dab your eyes.
Now they are gonna fold this DC stuff into AT&T television, add in some regular WB movies (but not Harry Potter, they can't use Harry at all til 2025) and HBO and basically charge you a cable subscription.
Literally all the original content was a critical success, which is more than can be said about Marvel Netflix series.
That this board sucks Disney's cock and is eager to oay 8 dollars for comics only but finds absurd to pay the same amount for comics, movies, TV series and originals speaks volumes of Yea Forums's mouseketeer nature.
>Literally all the original content was a critical success, which is more than can be said about Marvel Netflix series.
I guess they should have charged the critics an arm and a leg to watch it then. Critics rubbed off to how great Birds of Prey was too.
Sorta makes you think they might have some Critics on speed-dial.
>literally all the original content was a critical success
>Netflix
which isn't produced by Marvel nor Disney and yet manages to be better than any DC orginals.
Sorry, you should have not bought those AT&T stocks. Bad life investments, you should go to therapy to blow up the steam of failiure, not here shill.
I'm not sure if he's at Anger or moved to Bargaining or just hopes his bitch-tears will moves someone to paying for Harley Quinn.
>Sorta makes you think they might have some Critics on speed-dial.
It is good to remind that AT&T OWNS Rotten Tomatoes, kind of hard to not see the conflict of interests.
>"D-DC IS BUYING CRITICS!"
Absolutely pathetic. Mouseketeers have no shame, huh?
You were saying?
RT is just an aggregate posting site. They seriously have some "friends of WB" that get super-early screenings tho.
The entire strategy of DC Streaming's new shows sorta seemed "CW, but with excessive cursing". Did they think 13 yr olds paid for streaming shows?
>"CW, but with excessive cursing"
How is any of the shows CW-like?
Describe the CW parts of Doom Patrol.
Swamp Thing got cancelled because there was a fuck up with the tax credit they thought they were going to get by filming on location, which ballooned the budget to a point where it wasn't financially doable to continue the show. That's why they cut the season short and cancelled it, they were suddenly millions of dollars over budget.
The only one greentexting in All-caps is you, you sad mental retard.
And why are you bothering? It's dead on its feet, soon to be rubbish filler for an overpriced HBO package. Accept it and move on. It doesn't matter if some critics gave it a 110%
No one outside of LCS grognards gives a fuck about Brendan Fraser and the not-X-Men.
>And why are you bothering? It's dead on its feet, soon to be rubbish filler for an overpriced HBO package
For the life of you, you literally cannot find any trustable source that says that DC Universe is ending.
Harley Quinn S2 in a month, then Stargirl, then Doom Patrol S2, then Bizarro TV, then Titans S3.
Not bad for a service that is "dying" since 2018. Does CBS-All Access pump up content like this?
wow it only took 5 posts for someone to mention Marvel, obsessed.
>Harley Quinn S2 in a month, then Stargirl, then Doom Patrol S2, then Bizarro TV, then Titans S3.
Imagine being excited for any of these.
They're good shows.
>AT&T is so flush they are just going to maintain at least 3 streaming services simultaneously
They are contracting, getting rid of Directv and upselling AT&T Television, and jamming most of their programming into it. Some form of HBO Go will probably live on, but HBO will also be on AT&T Television.
Go read some fucking trade articles and stop bellowing on Yea Forums like a fat retard.
>CBS All-Access is my bar for success
pitiful. AT&T is too large to fight CBS for 5th place.
>DC
lol it will all be on disney+ in 2022 when dc is sold to disney anyway
So say the critics who watch them for free.
Not much of a business model.
It's not your fault, you've shilled the fuck out of at least Harley Quinn.
>Marvel gets a good RT score
>"BASED MARVEL! SUCH AN AWESOME COMPANY! MAKE MINE! MAKE MINE MARVEL!
>DC gets good RT score
>"REEEEEEEEE DC IS CLEARLY BUYING CRITICS! IT'S NOT FAIR! I HATE DC! THEY ARE SO CORRUPT!"
Fucking amazing.
"Thor: The Dark World" has a better RT score than Golden Lion Winner, Cahiers du Cinema Top 10 and Best Picture Oscar nominee "Joker", and somehow, to the mouseketeers of Yea Forums, this is evidence of foul play on Warners part.
Ike can't be paying you guys enough. You really take this shill gig seriously.
It's not even a competition between DC and Marvel anymore. It's like a guy casually walking around and stepping on a little bug without even noticing.
The Lion is an award presented by art-house faggots for art-house faggot movies.
That's why Fish Dicks is basically the only other Oscar winner/Lion Winner.
Again, Cope with your grief.
So what you're saying is... Joker has more artistic merit.
If that will stop your hot tears and floor-pounding, idgaf.
>So say the critics who watch them for free.
>Not much of a business model.
They watched this one for free as well.
Matter of fact, everything is watched for free for TV reviews. By your logic, every single TV series should be as well reviewed as the DC Universe originals.
As we all can see, that isn't the case.
Shape of Water is an SJW friendly movie like Joaquer.
The 7 Director panel who hands out the Lion is all SJW friendly directors. One of which is the director of Brokeback Mountain, several of the others are feminist directors (female) and feminist director (male).
You have been hilariously rused.
Netflix's survival never hinged on Iron Fist. Or any of the Marvel shows.
DC Streaming's absolutely hinged on its new offerings.
>The 7 Director panel who hands out the Lion is all SJW friendly directors.
Why haven't they awarded "Avengers: Endgame"? The women's showoff should make win the movie an important award, if what you say is true.
Why Marvel products only get Nickelodeon Awards?
Shape of Water is a movie about shitty evil White Men ruining everything
Joaquer is about shitty evil White Men ruining everything.
It's a testament to your sub-standard IQ that you never noticed this.
So, Joker has more artistic merit.
If anti-White Man messaging is your cup of tea, absolutely.
Are you done now? Because I can beat you up like a little bitch in this discussion as long as you'd like. Go fucking cry to Yea Forums about your Harley Quinn shit.
I'm talking about artistic merit, not your made up internet buzzword boogiemen narratives.
Are you really gonna play the retard like that? Or aren't you playing?
American SJWs declared "Joker" the Donald Trump of movies and hated it a year before it came out. In the few months before the premiere, Americans were convinced that the movie was going to cause an incel uprising, waves of terrorism and pre-Giuliani levels of urban violence.
Those same SJWs rewarded "Joker"?
And Pro-Trump retards declared it "their movie" without having any idea of its themes, and a few persisted when the script released.
So congrats, you are on the level of far-left tards.
>And Pro-Trump retards declared it "their movie" without having any idea of its themes, and a few persisted when the script released.
What? I thought you said that SJWs were the ones awarding "Joker".
Now it's Trump supporters?
Are you slow? I never claimed alt-righters gave it any awards. I said the SJW panel of the Golden Lion gave it an award. At that point, they were one of the few who'd seen it, and like its themes, which are very pro-SJW.
The fact that frogposters kept spamming Honking Clown memes isn't an "award". Stupid.
SJWs hated "Joker", but then they saw it in Italy and loved it so much for its SJWs themes that they gave it the maximum award, but didn't like it enough to get it a score higher than "Thor: The Dark World" on Rotten Tomatoes?
Quite interesting. Why didn't "Thor: The Dark World" win any award?
C'mon, I know you have a comeback, you thought you were gaining some traction trying to build a strawman. I'll give you a minute to gather some more straw. You can do it, dumbass.
>SJWs hated "Joker"
Based on the usual fucktards idolizing it.
Both groups were idiots who didn't know the subtext of the movie.
Why do you think I'm going to indulge your sudden obsession with Rotten Tomatoes?
You want to sing RT's praises you go right on ahead without me.
>Why did SJWs give an award to a movie about a weak man being destroyed by Rich White Men and chasing magical black pussy
>Why didn't they give it to a movie about Ultra Mega Chad coming down from space and getting laid and defeating his brother with his super-good-bro-ness.
I think you could figure that out on your own.
>Why do you think I'm going to indulge your sudden obsession with Rotten Tomatoes?
Mine obsession? You were the one saying that DC products are easily praised by RT compiled-critics.
As long as Golden Lion Winner, Cahiers du Cinéma Top 10 movie and Best Picture Academy Awards nominee "Joker" has a lower score than "Thor: The Dark World", your belief simply can't be true.
Anyway, wasn't the thread about how paying 8 dollars for Marvel comics is the best thing ever, but paying 8 dollars for DC comics, movies, TV series and originals is an absurd?
In your eagerness to please Ike and Feige and maybe get a raise on your shill fee, you kind deviated a little.
>You were the one saying that DC products are easily praised by RT compiled-critics.
Nope. I never said that WB was getting inflated scores. I said they had a crack team of early-access friends of the studio who ALWAYS praise the shit of their movies, then the aggregates whittle them down.
I don't pay 8 dollars for Marvel Comics. I can't say how great it is or not. I'm also not losing sleep over whether you are, or anyone else is.
I just told you that DC Streaming is being washed into AT&T Television, which you can choose to believe or not believe.
You're the one obsessed with bawling over Marvel moving forward.
I'm disappointed with your Strawman building, I gave you plenty of time.
>Harley Quinn S2 in a month
That's crazy. I really hope Stargirl is good
Its practically as cheap as Hannah Barbera.
No one with a career is working on it either.
They could easily do 40 season for the cost of Titans.
who hurt you OP
That Marvel Comic service, clearly.
OP here and the autistic shit flinging between those two posters has nothing to do with me. I just wanted to talk about the DC universe app
>Nope. I never said that WB was getting inflated scores.
Well, then it must have been the other one. Can you forgive me? I don't have the eyes to distinguish one anonymous Disney shill from the other.
>I said they had a crack team of early-access friends of the studio who ALWAYS praise the shit of their movies, then the aggregates whittle them down.
Oh my. You really have no shame, huh?
Next time you see a "(Marvel Movie) is the best MCU movie yet" review (which happens to all of their movies), try taking a look at who writes them. They are all people that were broken-ass bloggers a couple of years ago that now get to visit Europe every single MCU premiere and can stay in a 4 stars Hotel without having to spend a dime. All the expenses paid by Bob Iger.
For all we know, you might even be one of them.
Let's talk abut it, then.
Why paying 8 dollars for comics + movies + TV series + originals triggers you, but 8 dollars per comics only doesn't?
Directv is fizzling out; which is why AT&T is directing new customers away from it.
DC Streaming is clearly fizzling, you are lucky if you can find a single thread for it with two Anons with a subscription. Just a couple dozen beggars wanting megas.
AT&T seems shit at creating services people want to buy, they need to get peddling some more GoT double-quick.
Because a couple more seasons of Harley Quinn isn't going to gain them anything, even cheaply made as it is. I've read up on the new service they are proposing and the price of it is fucking silly.
>Yea Forums - Comics & Cartoons
not /biz/ - Business & Finance
No one else in this thread pays for either.
Do you pay for either?
>Why paying 8 dollars for comics + movies + TV series + originals triggers you, but 8 dollars per comics only doesn't?
It triggers me because its not in my country. I don't have an issue with the price but the entire service seems to have stagnated. Disney+ shitting all over it meant that it was taking all its attention due to their aggressive marketing.
>No one else in this thread pays for either.
I have been on Yea Forums long enough to remember all the "PRAISE MARVEL UNLIMITED" threads from around 2012.
>It triggers me because its not in my country.
Neither is Disney+. Or Marvel Unlimited. Or CBS.
Marvel Unlimited is in my country, Disney+ is out in a few weeks and I don't care about yank channels. Why are you so defensive about DC?
You have been nursing this ass fracture since 2012?
I don't have any of these services. I have Hulu (because of free with Sprint) and Amazon Prime because I've had a shipping account for 14 years with them.
When the new Marvel shows drop I will subscribe to Disney +. I don't give any fucks about Baby Yeed or anything Star Wars related.
I've seen pretty much all the olde Disney Cartoons I care to watch, I might watch some of the new stuff I've passed on, but prob not the live-action shit.
But I will have the Hulu/Disney/ESPN package because it is stuff I want to watch.
I don't want to watch FUCK BATMAN or the Doom Patrol (which I am sure is nice) and there have been umpteen episodes of Swamp Thing on television before. I don't want or need either service to read comic books, I am a buyfag and I also have Yea Forums and know how to torrent.
I own all the WB cape movies on Blu Ray.
Their "service" can go suck a dick.
>You have been nursing this ass fracture since 2012?
No, it has never bothered me. But I do find it curious how we can go from "COMICS FOR 8 DOLLARS YAY!" to "COMICS AND MOVIES AND SERIES FOR 8 DOLLARS, NAY" depending merely on which company is behind each. Brand loyalty sure is a bitch.
>When the new Marvel shows drop I will subscribe to Disney +.
WOAH! Now that's surprising!
There you go All CAPSing again, it clearly has you bothered a whole lot.
I hate to break it to you, but when those 10 shows in the pipe start rolling out, their subscription base will at least double. You can be as surprised as you like.
Tapping "caps lock" takes less effort than uploading a reaction pic.
You seem more bothered than I.
I want to imagine you just have too many Wojacks and are tired of the bans.
If it helps you emotionally deal with all of this, sure I am super-duper-upset as all fuck. Seething even!
For someone screeching about brand loyalty, you seem very devoted to DC and their shit service.
It's noticeable, isn't it?
>You tap "caps lock"? You're clearly seething!
>I merely go through the effort of uploading specific images from my reaction folders.
Ok, I'm going to seethe over to the kitchen and make an omelet and coffee and get my day going.
You hold the trench for DC while I'm out (seething) and getting shit done. Ciao!
>I hate to break it to you, but when those 10 shows in the pipe start rolling out, their subscription base will at least double. You can be as surprised as you like.
You don't need to tell me, Disney Exec. I know exactly what is gonna happen.
Come "Falcon and Winter Solder", the reviews will say "best MCU product yet, best political thriller since the Bourne Franchise". A month after the last episode, everyone will have forgotten about it.
Come WandaVision, the reviews will say "best MCU product yet, best surrealist media since Last Year in Mareinbad". It will be forgotten a month after the last episode.
The same will apply to every other Disney+ Marvel series.
>It will be forgotten a month after the last episode.
>Almost no comics
Dude almost the entire Digital library is there.
Why AT&T don’t just simply puts all their content and outs in a single service stream that could compete with Disney, Netflix, Amazon...?
Yeah, but do they have Bendis' Avengers?
I can't pay 8 dollars for a comics service that doesn't have Bendis Avengers!
MARVEL Netflix kinda did. Seeing as how Iron Fist flopping hurt the Defenders and killed 90% of the interest as soon as people knew Defenders had IF tier writing as well.
The writer, Bendis ?
Why does the existence of this app trigger Yea Forums so much that you have to keep making threads about it to remind everyone how much of a failure you think it was and literally count the days until it ends?
Seethe Geoff
The app's not even available outside of the US. Why call attention to something most people won't know exists if you're so anxious for it to fail?
Is this some kind of reverse shilling?
God I wish the Yea Forums discussions were banished to Yea Forums.
It would be worth turning Yea Forums into a ghost town.
But user, a bug is more important for Earth than a human.
Laddernigger is still butthurt about Joker. Just let him vent.
>outrageously expensive.
Do you mean HBO Max? I think that anyone subscribing to HBO Now for the 10 or 12 or whatever bucks a month gets upgraded to Max for free when it launches. I don't know how long that discount lasts but it should be enough to get a lot of people into the service
>almost no comics
They've added tens of thousands of comics since launch.
Probably not a flop. I doubt much money went into the service itself, but into creating the shows. Unsure about Harley Quinn, but the others have all been pretty successful. I believe Titans has been a top 10 Netflix show since launch. Swamp Thing is Amazon Prime exclusive, so who knows about that.
Not him, but I wish they'd fucking release this thing in the UK.
Could always use a VPN.
I mean it's paying for another thing but they're helpful for things like this.
What's the deal with that anyway? Why wouldn't they release it internationally? They clearly realized that it was long ways off or that they wouldn't do it at all when they decided to give their shows to other streaming services outside the US
Disney still hasn't released Disney Plus int eh UK either.
True. How much is it again?
I assume it was just some sort of test run for HBO Max coming soon. It was a baffling decision to start it in the first place. Also Titans might be the worst capeshit show of all time.
Doom Patrol was good, though.
D+ will be here in a few weeks. That's more than can be said about DC universe. I dunno why they're being shit.
Not sure why I'd ever get Disney Plus though. I've already seen the Mandelorian. I can understand supporting DC via comics.
The DC online? Like $7-8 a month?
VPNs? There's a bunch of them so probably $5-10 a month depending on the brand.
As for the DC online I've got it and it's alright.
Search feature is alright though you can't search comics by their release date (like reading everything from April 2018) but you can search by publication age and find the whole comic series and read in order easily enough.
Shows have a download feature if you have limited phone data, but it's like having maybe 8-10 episodes of things on reserve so can't treat it like a torrent for a whole show.
Comic reading got that panel to panel reading that I really enjoy and make reading comics on a phone screen very easy.
And it's got The Spectre by John Ostrander. So at least that series got collected by DC SOMEWHERE.
Just DC Online. I've got an annual (or 15 months?) of Express VPN.
Is the panel to panel thing that same shit they've got on Comixology for nearly everything? I honestly don't think I could read comics on my phone without it.
Also are you a UK or EU bro? I'm a little unsure of what it's actually like if you're not from the U.S. Like, if there's random bugs, or features that I can't access, even with a VPN. Weirdly enough, the first thing I was gonna read was Ostrander Spectre too. Funny.
US. Don't have a VPN on my phone but have a VPN for my computer and the website never raised an eyebrow (though I have the thing set to US most of the time anyway).
Never had comixology, so can only assume it's the same thing since it was like it for the PSP's comics app (my only comparable option) so I assume it's a mildly universal thing for all legit comic reading apps.
>was gonna read Spectre first
Huzzah a fellow man of quality.
Hey man, I just got the one week trial. I'll probs continue it, as it has a lot of shit that I can actually use.
>The wiki is a little bare, but if a storyline is mentioned you can directly click on it and start reading.
>They have a fuck ton of comics for you to read.
>They have pretty much all the shows, including an HD rerelease of Captain Marvel
>Events like Forever Evil where there's a fuck ton of spin-offs, they have every issue in order on the one page.
>etc.
It's a bit of a bummer that I can't use Yea Forums AND a VPN, but I really can't be bothered with Yea Forums anymore anyway.
Thanks a bunch user.
NP. Enjoy your comics user.
Exactly.
>The only care about the Batman universe
Nice try but you were better off just leaving it at "People dont care about DC"
Whatever happened to that shitty live-action Teen Titans show?
It was Titans, not Teen Titans. It's still going. It isn't that shitty.
I had no hopes for the originals but the lack of content is what made this basically a cash grabbing fraud.
>inb4 it was a test for HBO or WB streaming service
You don't make people pay for a test, you find beta testers and then you release the thing if it works.
It isn't that great either. It feels like one tree hill in costumes instead of a superhero show.
My main motivation for getting DCU was because it’s for Americans only. I get an immense smug satisfaction knowing eurofags and turdworlders cannot experience the service outside of using a VPN to pretend to be American long enough to stream an episode. If it were up to me I’d remove android support as well just to make sure undesirables cannot top tier content.
Get help you deranged madman.
"Let's do the Batman crew without Batman" is always a terrible idea.
Yes, I'm counting Gotham as well, fuck anyone who says that show was good.
I actually loved BOP but it still bothers me how there was just a small faceless dose of Joker in a fucking Harley Quinn movie which is in Gotham City. Batman’s absence really irritates me. WB really fucked up losing actors and messing up the main Justice League members. The fucking core that holds DC till this day.
