This thread was made for me. I just binged both of these series this week and honestly, even though I enjoyed them both, Miraculous Ladybug was the better show overall. It’s not totally fair because GT only had like 9 eps totally but ML was just a better overall experience. It started off really minster of the week like GT is currently but evolved into something pretty legitimate. Characters with real emotions and goals. And overarching plot that people are genuinely invested in. It doesn’t pull its punches with subverting expectations either. Although the romance between CN and LB and all the side character is getting pretty annoying at this point it still has way more going for it than Glitch Techs.

I think so. They might want to age the characters up a bit, 14 year olds in latex might be a bit too much outside France. if they were aged up to 18 it would work and also follow the age of their main demographics.

I like the idea behind Ladybug, but its potential was wasted. It was fine for the first season to establish a status quo that they only start to progress from in the last few episodes, but things would have really had to get going and for there to be more lasting consequences from the second season and onward. I also don't like how every problem can only be solved by Ladybug and any other solution attempted will immediately turn the problem into an apocalyptic threat. Considering how there's only one weak counter to the moth in the entire world, it seems to me like one of its users would have either destroyed or taken over the world ages ago.

I just recently found out marinette is asian. My boner went diamonds that moment.

The other problem is that since Marinette is the only one who can purify akuma, and that the ONLY villains in the show are akuma, NOTHING can EVER happen to her. We know that she'll win every fight, evade every capture, and overcome any obstacle because without her everything is up shit creek.

Also, there will never be any stories where Ladybug fails, is taken out of commission or is otherwise unavailable and another character will have to step up and save the day, because there can't be. No other character can ever solve a problem without her.

It's like yeah, Joker will escape every six months and cause havoc, but Batman doesn't just stop a scheme and leave it at that, he doesn't stop until Joker is back in Arkham. Marinette constantly playing defense and just putting out Hawkmoth's fires makes it seem like she just doesn't give a shit.

Seconds after finding out Adrien was Chat Noir Gabriel immediately decides to emotionally abuse him in order to get ehat he wants.

The show keeps trying to SAY Gabriel has depth to him, but he doesn't really. He's a shallow idiot that only is a menace because his opponents are only ever so slightly LESS incompetent.

Finally, someone gets it. Just because he has something of a noble goal in wanting to revive his wife (which is not happening ever because that would be the end of the show) does not make Gabriel deep, nor worth sympathizing over when we've seen how he doesn't even consider his own son as anything more than an expendable pawn in his plans.
