Now that the dust has settled, what went so wrong?
it's like the old saying, you can lead a horse to water, but he'll just fall backwards into it
anthro animals added nothing. all animals could've been human and nothing would change. This series could've been live-action and nothing would change.
If you're making a cartoon, make it interesting.
Ugly Americans is a great example of how to utilizes non-human designs in a cartoon
Half the background jokes and gags were animal related. Animal people weren't relevant to the plot but a big chunk of the entertainment was.
some of the best visual jokes like bird people flapping their arms and flying off only works because they're animal people
NORMAL
1. The Animals' characteristics or physical areas for the all of the main cast were just distractions. You could have literally made it into humans and I still would be watching the same show.
2. Adding Diane as this person who talks like they know what they are on about guns and then she becomes pro-guns is honestly exhausting. She should've had lost her purity cherry eons ago and shouldn't be so shocked to the fact that a lot of deals to movies are usually casting couch situations. And male actors tend to be fucking serial rapists, it wasn't even a massive discovery. We all knew that you basically did whatever it took in show business because it's a shitty industry all together. So I'm not shocked nor am I really that caring about Diane's bs with the Metoo situation.
3. I honestly could careless about Penny and Charlotte. It was a bad situation that Bojack literally was in because it basically shows him in reality shit don't work in 90s cartoons. But it was great to add that sort of realism but at the same time Bojack didn't really do anything wrong legally. I hate how the writers try to add more into this "OH JUST BECAUSE ITS OK LEGALLY DOESNT MEAN ITS OKAY MORALLY" Bs as if that matters at the end of the day.
4. Hollyhock's all dads bullshit was literally so ill contrived and boring for the one minute it showed up on. All that shit was annoying as hell and it pretty much shows how the woke community treats their pet faggots.
It made it past the pilot episode.
I would have preferred it if it was all animals
>I honestly could careless
What about the underwater episode and the puns and the background events? I'm wondering why the HUMANS were included instead of just anthro animals
The fact you keep posting these threads so retards can say "BOJACK DESERVED IT BECAUSE HE WAS ALMOST A CHAD BANGING SLUTS THAT COULD HAVE BEEN HIS DAUGHTER" and then we can argue about how hebephilia is totally legal and that fucking younger is better to avoid getting a UTI from the average thot that exists now etc.
The real travesty is that Wanda never made a substantial comeback, similar to Vincent Adultman. They got rid of all the funny gags from the early seasons to feed the drama monster the show became.
>ugly americans finished airing two years before bojack started
>ugly americans has a lot of really dated references
>bojack is 6 years old
TIME PASSING
FEELING OLD YET?
Not much to be honest. I recently went through the whole show and I think it ended pretty solid. There were some storylines I didn't care for (Pickles sleeping around so that she could get even with Mr. Peanut Butter went on too long and had an obvious conclusion. Todd being an asexual was also a storyline that went on way too long and just wasn't that interesting).
HORSES
Weinstein complimented the show and gave the writers an existential crisis.
Season 1-4 are really good but when season 5 came around they went really too far in lecturing the audience and trying to upstage the previous seasons with something dramatic.
BUT
Spoken like someone who didn't watch the show and is just parroting talking points he heard elsewhere from people trying to make sense of that Family Guy joke.
>trying to make sense of that Family Guy joke.
Spoken like a true BoJack fan. Everybody else got it.
horses can't vomit.
They got accolades in the previous season for treating MeToo politics seriously, and so now couldn’t think of a way to get BoJack off the hook without looking hypocritical. This would’ve been fine except other characters who had committed equal if not worse offenses all got off with cartoonish ease, creating a frustrating ending where our main character feels unfairly maligned as a bad guy despite trying in earnest to change for the better.
^this
He's a Horseman not a Manhorse
No, everyone got it. It just wasn't a good joke.
This so much.
but we got hot characters out of it
Underwater episode was good but not brilliant. It gets too much praise. No dialogue is baby's first arty concept episode. Hi Hi Puffy AmiYumi did it.
Diane a shit
Bojack warned them not to bring a cotton candy machine, but they did anyway.
I didn't care for its lauded treatment of dark subjects (depression, nihilism, suicide). Not surprising that when they're talking about the meaning of life and death that the one proponent of nihilism, who killed himself, admits he was wrong. Can't scare the normalfags, can we?
That said, I really enjoyed the light-hearted, earlier seasons and continued to enjoy the jokes and visual puns throughout.
So you didnt watch the show?
Humans are animals. I think it was more funny and surreal with the humans as well. Plus we got funny gags like the Baby Humans mascot.
A horseguy*
Nothing. It's a good show about a bad man, which - as always - a segment of Yea Forums has decided to hate because they have nothing else going on.
You seem a pretty miserable son of a bitch.
