I wouldn't mind bleaching the fuck out of that lawless teen, OP.
>Teens
Dropped
Sounds more interesting than "Spock's adopted black sister fucks things up" as a concept. I'm wondering how they're going to ruin it.
That group of lawless teens would need to have at least 40 people for an even remotely interesting ship, the defiant was basically a bunch of guns with an engine and a cloaking device on it and it required 50 men to man it
sounds pretty rad so far
hope it's an excelsior
It's gonna be a Miranda class and you know it
There are at least 2 different Star Wars shows with this exact same plot airing right now. The predominant strategy for making Star Trek since Enterprise has been to make something as far from Trek as possible. This shit is miserable
>The predominant strategy for making Star Trek since Enterprise has been to make something as far from Trek as possible.
Hell the 2009 movie was basically just Abrams' audition for Star Wars.
I think that is just about the worst concept for a show I've ever heard, it doesn't make a single bit of sense of any level. How do you get a group of troubled, lawless teens in the Federation? How does a group of miscreant youths successfully operate a Starfleet vessel? How do these teens have access to space to discover a derelict ship before Starfleet does in the first place?
Wouldn't they be quickly discovered by anothrr starfleet vessel, and stopped? Or worse an enemy who destroys it.
not if they also scrounge a cloaking device brah
go total ghost ship on everyone yo
>CG
>Lawless teens
>search for adventure, meaning and salvation
Sounds like complete trash
>unsanctioned Cloaking on a Starfleet vessel
Talk about an interstellar diplomatic incident
It had great potential, it was well cast and they had good chemistry. Damn shame they immediately shit the bed with the 2nd and 3rd movie
It's going to be a new ship and you all know it.
Sounds like the Star Trek version of pic related.
It's just going to quickly turn into Starfleet having to hunt them down due to them causing mischief posing as Starfleet, and having to arrest them. This could maybe work as a mini series, but not one they're obviously hoping will run for many seasons.
Implying Starfleet just leaves ships lying around where anyone can find them, compete with phaser arrays and photon torpedoes on board.
A better idea would be that it’s a training ship for teens that have sky high aptitudes but bad attitudes, ship gets lost, senior command staff incapacitated due to writer fiat, wacky fun time adventures follow soon after.
It could be a ship that was on an exploration mission in an unexplored part of the Quadrant, goes missing and is declared lost.
If Starfleet can’t find it, how would a group of teenage kicks be able to?
And what would wipe out the crew but leave the ship both fully functional and able to be re-crewed without decontamination/alien critter removal/disinfection?
Never said they were in the federation. Simply that they found a federation ship. I dont like the "teen" idea. Outlaws would be a cool idea. Like if the crew from cowboy bebop found a Starfleet ship.
Also, slightly unrelated, i just started watching The Orville and it is much better then i anticipated.
>Derelict ship
It'll probably be something familiar that's been kitbashed to make something new
The Orville is my #3 favourite Star Trek after TNG and TOS.
And as far as not being in the Federation, isn’t that a Fed uniform in OP’s post?
>the slingshot makes me cringe
Oh god I’m so fucking goddam old
>teens
What focus group thinks this is a good idea? Nobody likes kid/teen focused shows, not even kids/teens.
Kids want to be Indiana Jones, not short round.
its amazing what you get when you have an actual Trek fan make a show as opposed to having someones original scifi show and Frankenstein it into Trek so you can keep the rights.
kids love shows with teens.
>And what would wipe out the crew but leave the ship both fully functional and able to be re-crewed without decontamination/alien critter removal/disinfection?
In a letter: Q
Aside from that there are a number of entities or anomalies capable of doing this.
She cute.
Uniforms and weapons left on the ship.
But they really love shows with cool looking and acting adults.
can't wait for teh shadman take on this new series
to boldly go where shadman has not gone before
God damn I wish I never saw this show because it made me delay watching the kino that is the Clone Wars
I want a Uhurhuh gf
This. Why must the constantly devalue franchises with this kid/YA garbage. It clutters the canon and just dilutes everything. Yeah, STD does those things as well, but at least it doesn't ask you to watch kid's cartoons to follow the franchise development. At the very least they should clarify that this bullshit is soft canon at best.
This could be kind of fun. It's nice that it wont take up the slot for a Star Trek show then since no one will sub to All Access to watch it when it's also on Nickelodeon. Two Star Treks at the same time eventually.
At least there won't be fags, right?
because it's all for kids you fat manchild
>having minorities means it's good
>being different means it's good
STDfags are the worst posters on this board desu

Jesus christ, this sounds like an amateur Star Wars fanfic that Disney dropped on CBS's doorstep to make a series out of.
what mirror universe do you come from? I just want an actual Trek show from the Trek universe. Not shitty hamfisted fanfiction that doesn't fit in any timeline because it probably wasn't Trek to begin with. prequels suck
>People not excited to finally get a Star Trek series with a crew who are not apart of Star Fleet.
Really? REALLY? These guys could turn to be anything and go anywhere and they don't give a shit about the prime directive on top of it being animated allowing them to get more crazy with the aliens. This is the most interesting thing they've done with trek for a long time.
>teens
>animated

how does anything about the description sound remotely interesting to you? there are already a ton of other shows with this exact plot just go watch those.
Trollhunters is actually pretty decent. I hope they don't fuck it up for Trek.
How much you want to bet they'll make a CG character that looks like M'Ress and how badly will they fuck her up?
there will be a Mystery Box, and only when the characters have truly learned the Power of Friendship and Cooperation will they be able to solve it.
I know I would fuck her up on my dick...RARRR!
