Spinel is pink's toy she left behind for 6000 years(probably without realizing it) and came for revenge on Steven. Spinel found a new home with the other diamonds, and Steven is going through puberty. Also the midriff butch dike is probably a pandering stunt. If you've been around this show for so long it really isn't a surprise.
