I read the book and enjoy Marie's teachings, but I couldn't get into the show. It was obviously for drama and entertainment, but I just didn't give a shit about any of the guests, and the fact it was all western people. I know they did this to make money and views and diversity or whatever, but I would've preferred a translated show where Marie visited interesting or high-profile clients in Japan.

Now if you want a traditional partner who will actually take care of the house, you are much better off going after an Asian women.

But that's not all. The worst part is when the man gets home after a long day of work, what does the white woman do? She stands there, doesn't say hi or greet her husband with a hug or anything. She just stands there, not acknowledging him, waiting for him to acknowledge her. White women do not respect men, they do not care about their partners. Everything revolves around them, she doesn't want to please her man, her man has to please her. What does the Asian woman do? As soon as the man walks in through the door she immediately greets him with a hug. Asian women still respect men and still try to make their partners happy.

As a minimalist myself, my problem (?) with the show is that it doesn't seem like they make all that much progress. A lot of the homes still remain cluttered at episode end.

I'm not sure I can agree with your broad-brush generalization, but I do agree that a poor cultural shift has taken place. The woman in the first episode really sums up a troubling trend: someone not even capable of running a household. And I don't even just mean women, but men too. In this case, it is a woman. She has no job other than maintaining a good home, and fails to do so. I don't understand how a "stay at home mom" can have so many problems: the kids are gone for most of the day once they are school-aged, she just needs to clean and get some simple food.

Enjoy your mentally ill hapa children because you were too beta to find a good white woman.
