Who else thinks that it's sad when two characters of same sex have great dynamics and friendship but then it's ruined by forcing them to be gay
Who else thinks that it's sad when two characters of same sex have great dynamics and friendship but then it's ruined...
You realize that before that episode aired, those two characters had exactly one major interaction, right? Like, the randomness of the pairing was half the joke.
Yes but they could have stayed just friends. It would have been a sweet start for friendship.
I think it's sad that you choose to allow hate to consume you and poison your life. Choose love.
I don't hate it I just think it's sad. I was confused they made these kids gay and Cartman straight. It would have been more fitting otherwise around.
They didn't even interact outside of one episode.
But they could have became just friends when they were forced to be gay. At the end of the episode I thought it was cute because I thought they started hanging out just as friends. Then they were still "boyfriends" later and that was fucked up because they had been forced in that situation.
I try to pretend they are not a couple, but friends.
>I try to pretend they are not a couple, but friends.
But that's exactly how it's set up in the show. They haven't kissed, they haven't hugged, they've barely held hands and when they did it was for public benefit. Sure, Craig calls Tweek sweetie and babe but it always sounds awkward and forced because it is and they're still playing it up. Some can look at them as a couple, but it's just as easy to just see them as friends. And it's a good friendship, if a little one sided, what with Craig being the most apathetic character on the show yet still he goes out of his way to make Tweek feel better.
So yeah, you're not really pretending they're just friends, that's just how you see them and it's valid.
Also they're like 9 and not sexual, their relationship is about as real as most boy/girl "couples" their age (friends who hold hands).
That was the point. Part of the intention is to say to you the viewer that if you find this sad or problematic in some way then you are the one with a problem here and you might want to look at that in yourself. You were the target of the satire. You missed that.
If it had been exactly the same story -- exactly the same, no other changes, every line of dialog the same -- with Craig and Bebe, would you have found that equally sad as well?
At least Voltron didn't ruin Shiro's and Keith's dynamic by making them gay even though Shiro was married to a guy
Girl and boy can't be friends in same way as boy and boy. Especially in South Park where they often have episodes about girls and boys being too different in certain age. You can't be bros with a girl. There are very few good male friendships in cartoons and this could have been like that but they destroyed that chance.
It's not sad. South Park is satire. In this episode, the intention is to call out people's homophobia. You're exactly what this episode was about. You're homophobic. Stop being homophobic.
>this could have been like that but they destroyed that chance.
Except it is and you're choosing to see it as a gay relationship when it's set up to be easily viewed as both.
Now, if you wanted to complain about Fractured But Whole then you'd have more of a point because they were portrayed as waaaaay more of a couple in that. But the show is pretty neutral and they do have a good friendship.
My favorite character in South Park is gay (Mr. Garrison) until they made him the president. And with him the homosexuality is clearly part of his character. But here it's different.
>faggot triggered over craig and tweek tries to act like there's some shortage of male characters who are friends
It's not sad. If it didn't work for you, fine. You're the only one who it didn't work for. No one else thinks it's sad. Just you. Okay? Let's end it there.
Aside Kyle and Stan there aren't much, especially in new shows. There was good brotherhood in Voltron but people thought they are homosexual too.
Isnt cow a girl?
They are just friends.
Functionally they act exactly like best friends, it's just that they call themselves boyfriends to be left alone.
They aren't fucking each other's butts.
Trey literally said in season 21 commentary that they are not gay but they are more than friends
Best friends are more than friends.
and they're siblings, like gumball & darwin and huey & reily
also ren & stimpy are gay
Is this something that happens frequently in the media you consume?
You're right, so take out cow and chicken and add these.
Bloo is a piece of shit
I'm afraid it's going to happen in Young Justice
Tweek might have a crush on Craig, but not in gay way. I also thought I have a crush on my male friend in high school, but I just admired him and didn’t want to have sex. I think it’s normal to practice being in relationship when you are younger, but you will grow out of it and then get a real girlfriend.
user, they're minor characters that were paired together as a joke.
I think it's safe to say this was a troll post.
