why is there so much incest bait in this show?

Looks like a ball in the ass
Nothing sexy or likable

>I once saw Mike Scully confess on a panel that Simpsons writers have jokingly proposed storylines in which Bart and Lisa fall in love with each other, so I'm not at all surprised to see a couple of weirdo incest jokes in these two episodes.

Holy shit I should watch this.

I’m so glad they didn’t shy away from making her thicc, let alone presenting that thiccness in close-up shots

Groening deserves to die, no wonder he got caught in Epstein's plane.

>It was an Annie episode.
Annie should be the protagonist of the show because the joke writers on this show are too old to be writing about today's youth.

Well, there's your 3 episodes and nothing. Not a smile or chuckle. The anons on the last episode thread were right to say that the PAWG MILF cop is literally the only thing good about this, but that's more to do with the potential porn people might draw of her, so even that's not 100% sure of quality, or even quantity.

Attached: i1C6wlB.jpg (600x799, 63K)

And yet, it still sucks shit no matter how much you meme and push this awful show.

But at least the performances are good despite the lack of material given.
And Bex is the best.

The thing about this bad show is that somehow it wasn't that much of a surprise how bad it turn out be.
Also, her fat ass is always sticking out.

Attached: 1581.jpg (1288x714, 139K)

>But at least the performances are good
lol yeah, bro
fucking amazing delivery from all the voice actors with their hype characters

I'm just saying that they all have the right cadence but just lack good jokes.

Jesus...

>David Silverman
Would that explain some of the mild Simpsons vibes I’m getting?

Attached: I always get him mixed up with Vincent Waller.jpg (1367x2048, 2.9M)

Annie is trying to prove herself worthy enough to be a detective and is trying to solve a case involving "Air Cordens" that Duncan bought at a pop-up shop. Trying to find who was distributing the fake shoes, they find a security camera across the street which belongs to a Colonial-themed strip club. The two easily get in and look through the tape, but not before Duncan gets distracted and asks for $100 "for school".

I didn't even know he worked on this show. Having loved his (earlier) work, that puts my interest in seeing this show succeed even higher.

>Vincent Waller
You mean the guy who ruined SpongeBob?

to be honest there wasn't really that much left to ruin when he took over

though he did manage to make the show even worse somehow

Why'd you specify his EARLIER work, user?

It's no Mega, but if you just want to watch it this should do

>a couple of writers make...a dirty office joke that I'm sure everyone has made at some point at work
How is this shocking?

this show is the definition of totally predictable mediocrity

Post the like 2 other sexy cop images from the last thread. Every thread about this shitty show should at least have 3 or 4 anons posting slutty cop images with the rest of their post.

Which is exactly why nobody is talking about it, week after week.

People are tired of boring old family sitcoms. Netflix and [adult swim] will only continue stealing FOX's attention because they're actually open to doing different genres with adult animation. If FOX seriously thinks "The Simpsons, but with a teenaged son as the lead" is all that groundbreaking, then they'll only continue to stew in mediocrity.

Attached: The View from Halfway Down.jpg_large.jpg (1920x1080, 140K)

I say "earlier" because his (and Bill Kopp/Brad Bird's) contributions to the early seasons of the show and the shorts were huge inspirations for me-- he hasn't done as much work in recent years rather than being a producer, so hence the clarification.

I did like "The Man who Came to Be Dinner"- it's a terrible episode, yes, although Kang/Kodos is my favorite and the episode (despite not being a halloween special and having those characters) really had fun with their designs in terms of animation in every way shape and form- which is why I love his work/direction.

Ah, gotcha.

Guys like David Silverman, Bill Kopp, and Brad Bird are the only reason The Simpsons started out as visually fun as it did. If more adult cartoon showrunners gave actual cartoonists and animators more say in how their show would look, we'd have far more visually interesting shows nowadays like we did back in the '90s.

Attached: You'll be lucky to ever get designs with this much SOUL.jpg (1920x1080, 616K)

>If FOX seriously thinks "The Simpsons, but with a teenaged son as the lead" is all that groundbreaking, then they'll only continue to stew in mediocrity.

Fox's cartoons are very stagnant because it's been pretty much the same people working on all of them since the 90s (Mike Scully, Dave Silverman, etc) and there's very little new blood or creative ideas.

Mind you these guys did what they did _over_ the objections of Matt Groening who always wanted as sterile animation as possible. But then who was right anyway? The trained professional animators or the newspaper comic strip guy?

I'm sorry to hear that.

Attached: Sadicles.png (1920x1080, 1.54M)

>BRRAAAAAAAP

A repeating two- or three-frame rotation animation on the pens was too much to ask? It's so distracting!

>Air Cordens
Do they still sell Michael Jordan branded stuff or this really behind the times?

When you heard Duncanville was going to have the same old crew working on it, did you expect anything groundbreaking?

>Do they still sell Michael Jordan branded stuff
of course they do.

>OK K.O.!'s writing writing team was almost entirely staffed with newbies in their 20s, each with countless amazing contributions to the show
Now imagine if other series productions took this into account rather than hiring the same out-of-touch 50+-year-olds. The same could stand to happen over at Disney and Pixar, too.

We NEED more fresh voices in the industry. Animation can only benefit from that inclusion.

Attached: fun cartoons.png (1434x806, 1.7M)

There will always be comedies. They just need to be funny.

I don't know what sports are. I know he was a big deal but he retired ages ago, right? I'd thought the merchandise game would have moved on.

>mitten hands

Looks like they could only afford to animate one pen

Just two frames repeating! Recolor it and mirror it for the other pen! Surely it wouldn't take much time!

if you see a black dude, 99% of the time they will be wearing jordans.

>inclusion
This is a scam, isn't it?

I have no problem with comedies. I just wish FOX would move outside of the generic family premise that they enforce on all their shows.

Attached: I still can't believe we lived through the era of MacFarlane Domination.jpg (1059x404, 221K)

CN/Disney/Nick have newer people working on their cartoons and don't still rely on Butch and Genndy for everything. This is pretty much just a Fox problem.

ok ko is worse than duncanville. just because the people working on it were young doesn't mean it wasn't trash.

If the word "inclusion" triggers you that much, then you've gotta take a step outside, bro.

Attached: rly.gif (400x376, 2.67M)

It's a normal word but it's also a buzzword that's often followed by scams.

No but at least it was something new and different.

>new and different
How many episodes are spent on crossovers with 20-year-old cartoons and video games?

>5 crossovers out of 111 total episodes
The hatred toward this show really is laughable. Ian's goal was always to just throw wacky ideas and parodies together and mine some comedy out of that. The OK K.O.! Krew pulled it off perfectly while still giving the show its own identity and unique character dynamics.

If you couldn't sit back and have fun with this show, then you've gotta be the living embodiment of No Fun Allowed.

Attached: inb4 HBO Max snatches up all three seasons.jpg (1288x705, 367K)

Same deal with Disenchantment. Matt Groening just got together the same old bunch of people he's been working with for decades and it resulted in something that was very stale and boring.

Disenchantment was such a waste of time. It's hard to believe that it was essentially Matt Groening AND Josh Weinstein's baby.

I stuck it out through those first two seasons, but I doubt I'll give Netflix any views for the rest of the prematurely greenlit seasons to follow.

Attached: at least the evil queen was hot, shame about her lack of lewds tho.jpg (2000x597, 149K)

>It's hard to believe that it was essentially Matt Groening AND Josh Weinstein's baby.
If this was 1995, that duo could have really gone places. Unfortunately it's not.

>ok ko is worse than duncanville
lol no it isn't
and in this case, boomer, it was "young people making young people trash" not old people making young people trash

Go back to bed, Ian.

>the potential porn people might draw of her
>even that's not 100% sure of quality, or even quantity
I hate how right you are. Do we even have any Duncanville lewds yet?

Does Yea Forums count? If "you're talking about it, aren't you?" is a success marker, are you also taking in account the Yea Forums threads? I really hope you're not, user.

Yea Forums doesn't mean shit. I'm mainly taking Twitter into account. Assuming one follows many animation fans or industry artists, you'll see talk of Amphibia, Glitch Techs, BoJack Horseman, or Rick and Morty, but absolutely nothing about Duncanville, Bless the Harts, or Bob's Burgers. PEOPLE DON'T CARE ABOUT MUNDANE FAMILY SITCOMS ANYMORE.

King of the Hill is actually lucky it ended at a time when people could still give a shit about its genre.

Attached: chapaghettii.jpg (2048x2048, 428K)

Attached: vlcsnap-2020-02-18-23h35m16s217.png (1280x720, 769K)

Why has Bob's Burgers lasted so long if no cares about it?

You gave it a good effort, I'll commend you for that.

I personally am fine with continuing to tune in to Duncanville for the rest of the season since it airs right before Bob's Burgers, a show I watch religiously. Bless the Harts was simply okay for most of its first season, but those final three were pretty great. Who knows if Duncanville could prove its worth by the end of this season?

Attached: Yeah, we gave it a go, put on a heck of a show~.png (1001x564, 766K)

It's not so much that family sitcoms are bad in of themselves, it's that when you have the same handful of people making them for decades, the shit becomes very stale and starts to repeat itself. Perhaps if Fox had some young new people working on these shows, maybe they'd do something fresh with them?

I feel like it's gotten to the point where it's in the same boat as The Simpsons or Family Guy: the show clearly isn't as popular as it was in years prior, but it still gets just barely enough ratings and views on streaming services for FOX to latch onto it and keep renewing it as a "legacy series."

Only difference here is that I actually still very much enjoy the latest seasons and am in firm belief that the show's quality has been upheld even after all these years. I just hope Loren Bouchard doesn't plan on letting the show last 20 seasons, though. No show should ever go on for that long, no matter how consistent the quality may remain.

>Do we even have any Duncanville lewds yet?
see:

“My Fair Hatey” was such a great musical episode. I love you, Andy Bean.

Just saw all the episodes that are out. It's not nearly as bad as modern The Simpsons, there's that. Still not very enjoyable though.

These graying Gen Xers who work on Fox cartoons will probably stay there until they retire in 10-12 years.

Another shitty family guy show rip off?

>Disenchantment
Best evidence for Even with an original premise its a piece of shit because its the same old hacks writing it. Its strange that this consistency in writers/directors or the family comedy aspect is only in network cartoons. Not counting all the shows that get canceled after a couple weeks, most live action network television series have moved away from the family sitcom model.

>Thick cop mommy with incestbait
i will now watch your show, i don't even care if the humor is ZombieSimpsons-tier

Attached: MILF114.jpg (469x675, 76K)

new and different only mean new and different. they are not synonymous with good.
a bunch of unchallenged collage student amateurs with a budget doesn't automatically translate into good. there's a good reason that Ok Ko got canned early.

>there's a good reason that Ok Ko got canned early
A corrupt network that cancelled a successful show with a genuinely active following simply because its tie-in game didn’t perform as well as expected?

Nice

>still no MEGA
Not nice

Wolf is the only one that provides anything entertaining for me. I like the youngest daughter too because it's rare to see a little kid character act like a little kid.

Attached: -.png (490x594, 190K)

Whats up with all the incest undertones? Was it really necessary for the mom to introduce her son as her lover twice?

We've heard everything guys like Matt Groening have to say. They made all their statements about politics/society/the entertainment industry a long time ago and don't have anything more to give us at this point.

>Was it really necessary for the mom to introduce her son as her lover twice
Every mother thinks of their sons as back up husbands.

>Duncan: How come you stopped kissing dad on the mouth?
Of all the things he wanted to ask his mom it just HAD to be that huh

No, recent Simpsons is actually much better than Duncan so far. But I'll still watch Duncan instead of finding something else to do for that half hour.

No.

That can almost be read in a patronizing tone.

Dear God... I don't think I've ever seen such a perfect body before...

Attached: T.V. of Tomorrow.gif (300x229, 1.54M)

I'm curious why Fox has never invested in young new cartoon creators and keeps using the same people for the last 30 years even though they're creatively exhausted a long time ago. Like someone else said, it would be like CN still relying on Genndy and Craig to make all their shows.

>rare to see a little kid character act like a little kid.
Are you implying something

Attached: unnamed (1).jpg (512x384, 59K)

They tried and failed with Alex Hirsch, but they did get Justin Roiland and Mike McMahan to make a show for them, even if it'll be streaming exclusively on Hulu rather than airing on prime time network TV.

Attached: Oooweee.jpg (2048x1374, 482K)

This is the final redpill

That's a begged question. Everything I've ever read about Fox suggests they succeeded in spite of themselves and do to dumb luck mostly. When you hear about how they renegotiated the Simpsons voice actors' contracts without considering that it would result in Yeardley Smith getting paid a king's ransom to voice one character, you realize just how staggeringly incompetent they are.

Makes the jabs they got from The Simpsons over the years feel way more deserved.

>Alex Hirsch completely fucks over Disney by ending his show early, blacklisting him
>runs to Fox
>Fox gets bought by Disney and cans his show

I never understood why they bothered. If a shitty little studio in Texas can find a bunch of guys with the same voice to play Inuyasha, why couldnt Fox find other people that sound the same? By season 20 or so I dont think anyone would give a shit

The one time they seemed to be on their game was when they threatened to replace Nancy Cartwright with an impersonator for that Scientology phone call thing.

Her face looks dopey but other than that good job.

Hell, any replacement they could find for Yeardley would probably be a lot less of an irritating fuckwad who thinks Lisa is her avatar.

nice belly

nice belly

m-mommy

The entire episode looked low budget compared to the first two.

That’s adult animation for ya; more money spent on big-name celebrity voices than on the actual visuals.

I mean if can slip by, then clearly they wasted the budget for retakes.

you might not like it, but this is what peak performance looks like

>Ian's goal was always to just throw wacky ideas and parodies together and mine some comedy out of that.
Except the jokes werent funny, also if the crossovers didnt dilute the show's "plot", you also had unnecessary shipping episodes, stupid meta episodes which invalidated anything that happens in the show until Ian had to publicy said they were meant to be funny, episodes where they set up and arc and they leave it hanging, episodes which affect the status quo only to bring everything back to normal because "it's a cartoon eksdee!"
And let's not get into the animation quality changing from scene to scene which resulted in a jarring mess

>3 episodes in
>3 episodes of incestbait
I like to think it is Amy Poehler that keeps forcing them into the show.

see:

Don't care. I'm still going to pretend it's Amy's doing.
