I would have agreed with you a year ago but it's pretty clearly more than a fad by this point. It's been the most played game by far(Fortnite has more average players than Steam. No, not just any specific popular Steam game but the playerbase of every Steam game combined) for like 18 months now. This is at least the next Minecraft, if not even bigger.

I'd actually play Fortnite if this happened. I think it's a well made game mechanically but I can't bring myself to play a game that tens of millions of children and ultra-normies also play.
