Teen Titans wasn't bad, it had its moments and was well-animated with a good cast. Better than the stiff flash remake even if that too has its moments.

Teen Titans is obnoxious because the fans who act like it's the "original Teen Titans" never read a single comic book.

Their faux anime is every bit as "blasphemous" to what it's based on as TTG is to it. Bunch of Inuyasha fans thinking they know shit about comics, cringiest fanbase.

Better late than never I guess. Why anyone would have watched Teen Titans when they could have spent that time rewatching an episode of Justice League/JLU is beyond me.

It wasn't great but it was an interesting experiment that paved the way for more off the wall DC stuff like Batman: Brave and the Bold and opened the doors for other kooky action driven shows.
TTG would just be considered a general shitty cartoon if it hadn't taken so much from the 2003 show and took more from the comics instead. The coattail riding is the only reason people get so upset.

It's different, it was its own show doing its own thing. Most cartoons based on comic characters do their own thing with the IP. TTG is a direct sequel to TT it should go without saying seeing their show in such a state would lead into those reactions.

It did indeed try too hard to be anime as people have said, specially with the chibi approaches to comedy. That stuff has aged BADLY.

When it took itself halfway seriously, however, I found it to be quite good, and I think it still stands well today. I say halfway seriously because it still managed to be engaged even with the sillier plots like being trapped inside the TV or chasing a Wacky Races character through a highway.

When any show takes itself serious it's usually good, like the 80's TMNT.

Teen Titans was honestly just good. At the time it was second banana to Justice League and lots of people even then recognized it was trying hard to capitalize on the anime craze.

Really the only reason it’s on such a pedestal now is specifically because of GO! If that show never came to be, no one would be pining for a revival. It was just the feeling of the bait and switch that rubbed people up the wrong way.

Also, and this is coming from one, millennials at the time of GO’s beginning were only in their early 20’s, and seeing something they cherished from childhood getting twisted into a reboot so soon really bummed them out, especially since the adult world had so quickly gone to shit.
