>it had 2 seasons and a movie
Why did this garbage succeed?

Without doing any research right now to back up my claims, if I remember from way back in the day, the dude who made the show was a semi-successful illustrator so I think they just assumed a project of his was going to be the next big thing with kids. Or maybe like, an executive saw his art style and said, "Kids will love it" or whatever.

Maybe because some people liked it?

>The movie had a budget of 10 million and only made back 6 million
Succeed is a strong word

It was shit user, the fact it got a theatrical release over actual popular cartoons at the time like Fairly Oddparents is truly a crime.

Disney was just making all kinds of retarded decisions back then.

That's a mystery

I keep forgotten I'm still subscribed. I haven't used it since all the new stuff ended.

I thought it was OK series, back when it originally aired at least. I might go back and rewatch it when I finally get around to using the free one week of Disney+.

Probably a mix of nepotism and some flash in the pan kidlit sales. It's a very fickle fad market that blows up and dies in an instant. Throw in some half baked metrics and you have most mediocre/terrible shows that get moneyhatted.

The artist who made it was a pedo.

wait, what?

Does it have Dave the Barbarian yet?

Gargoyles is pretty fucking great. Might check out some random episodes of Gravity Fall after I watch my favorite episodes of The Clone Wars.

Also I

Interesting artstyle (when compared to Disney's other shows)

Did they ever fix the aspect ratios and certain shows having episodes out of order?

he did all of the art for some popular board games back in the day

they fixed 1 of the 2 pooh episodes. everything else is still cropped and out of order

Sad. You should rewatch some classics. I recently saw Saludos Amigos and Atlantis: The Lost Empire. Disney+’s massive library is worth diving into.

He was definitely known for his unique illustrations beforehand. I knew about his art first before the cartoon, and when I saw the cartoon I thought "hey this looks like the art from that one guy"

No, and I won't be satisfied until it is. I'll just be watching Recess until then.
