Castlevania used to be one of my three big universes to bond with fellow loners over and now that the mainstream discussion for all three of them is "OMG OMG CHECK OUT THIS AU FANART OF MY FAVORITE SUPER SPECIAL BOYS KISSING OVER A LATTE IN A STARBUCKS CAFE ALUCARD AND TREVVY ARE MY BABBZ" or "WOW I LOVE CASTLEVANIA CHARACTERS THEY'RE SO EDGY WITTY AND UNETHICAL I LOVE WHEN GODBRAND SAID 'PISS SHIT FUCK' I LAUGHED FOR AN HOUR PLEASE STEP ON ME MOMMY CARMILLA" it's next to impossible to find anyone who actually speaks my fucking language

Please don't take this TOO personally, I have to get it out of my system before the spring convention cycle drowns me in nuCarmilla cosplayers and gay CV fanart

Away to reddit with you

>to bond with fellow loners
You mean fellow losers. Anyway user, any long running fandom will experience huge splits between eras, versions, games, comics or shows. It's just one of those things. If it bothers you that much you need to be an adult and do like more happily adjusted people do and tailor what you want out of the fandom to yourself. Don't like the show? Ignore it. Want to talk about certain aspects of the game? Seek out the people who will enjoy that with you (I havent been on Yea Forums in years but maybe theyre better for the kind of discussion you want?). I understand at conventions you're gonna be running into alot of the new stuff but just remember in a few years it will all change again. Or die completely. Who knows. But don't shit on those just coming in to have fun, you'll become old before your time.

>be nuMilla cosplayer
>see this
oh...okay user

Attached: 1421038042433.gif (478x369, 266K)

Not him, but Yea Forums is just as bad. CV threads there are just full of Smash autismos who've never played the games or retards who think they're experts because they've watched a Let's Play of SotN and skimmed the wiki for ten minutes.

Where are the actual CV fans even at these days? The old CV Dungeons forums have been dead for years.

ooh, that's a nice comparison. If only Sypha had feelings for Alucard.

>Where are the actual CV fans even at these days?
That's a good question, even the people I know who claim to be oldfags constantly get the lore wrong or mis-remember things. I'm lucky in that I can enjoy the new show even with it's flaws so it's no big deal to me what gets discussed but even when I do see the original games get discussed it's mostly posturing and dick measuring about who has played what and power measuring arguments so it's not exactly like any deep, philosophical conversations are going on. What exactly is it that you two want to discuss? Why not bring it up here and start the conversation instead of bitching. I mean you might not get a whole lot of replies because yes, most fans here are going to be newer, but it's worth a shot.

Attached: meph567.jpg (438x108, 12K)

I'm really just angry that "my" favorite vidya game fandom got squashed by the mainsteam audience of a different medium. I have no beef with fans of the new content, just the displeasing nature of the show content itself in the context of what I like(d) about the games and their atmosphere.

But if I don't vent in a place where people can take shots back at me, I'm going to keep seething at people and posting angry Richters on Yea Forums forever instead of getting over it.

Attached: what is a man.gif (600x338, 873K)

>But if I don't vent in a place where people can take shots back at me
so you...want us to take shots back at you?

ok I think you're being a silly poopy head over all this

>even the people I know who claim to be oldfags constantly get the lore wrong or mis-remember things
I look back and wonder how much stuff I made up to fill in gaps left by the games, and then how much of that was jsut information lost in the English translation. My personal favorite gapfiller is assuming that Graham "inherited" Dracula's vampire charisma-hypnosis the same way Dario got his fire magic and Dimitrii got... whatever that power was.

Attached: Graham2.gif (2050x1350, 107K)

Ok here's some old content conversation: Remember when Alucard used to be ugly as balls?

Fuck there are so many [minor] loopholes like those, it can be annoying if you're seriously trying to get everything perfectly straightened out and explained.
I've never looked at any of the Japanese original dialogue so I have no idea if more of these things are explained there but I have looked up things on the CV wiki but holy fuck is it unpleasant to try to read anything on.

when I was little I thought that was just a spinal cord hanging down, now I cant unsee it as a penis.

I don't know if this is any better, but that's definitely the colon and rectum hanging off the intestines.

>any long running fandom will experience huge splits between eras, versions, games, comics or shows
This I choose to dont Watch Castlevania after first season. I wanted fucking AKUMAJO DRACULA and instead of that I got a poor vampire grampa dindu nuffin. Sometimes is OK to know is just not for you.

I always figured he turned into a pretty pale bishie between CV3 and SOTN by lying in a coffin without blood for three centuries.
Kind of annoys me that they made him a blonde from birth now because that shit's a recessive gene and daddy was raven haired.

Ah bloo bloo

In Kojima's artbook there's this picture of Alucard with dark hair. Dunno if it's just SotN concept art or what she thinks he would've looked like during the events of CV3, but I really like it

I hope people aren't too mad when Dracula Backwards runs off with the bird-throwing 12 year old girl.

Netflix Castlevania is shit and for brainlets.

That picture is little too accurate. With all of the homos saying "muh feelz", I'm starting to believe that thing about microplastics emasculating men in a high rate. I'm just glad that there are people who aren't so easily emotionally manipulated.

I feel you. If Castlevania gets a revival, they might end up making game characters more like their shitty show. It reminds me of a guy with a hate boner for Obsidian and FO:NV and kept saying that Bethesda should be commended for reviving the series. He also said that FO3 was faithful to the series because... it was popular citing a review from IGN stating people like the new style.

Honestly desu, Netflixvania just reaffirms that filthy gaijin should be kept well away from the Castlevania IP.

This.

Its clear Trevor is the guy both Sypha and Alucard want to fuck

To be fair, they should be kept away from their own IPs too. Manga is doing well yet comic books are doing poorly. People act like they are different mediums despite them being both just drawings on paper.

Their different mediums in sales.
Comics as a single issue buy are extremely outdated and the difference in sales show with block release manga.
Also the culture in Japan about being a buyfag is very different than here.

That picture is little too accurate.
Is accurate when you expect Trevor as a christian Conan against the devilish creature i as Dracula depicted in games, remember that Castlevania is a celebration of old horror universal movies, with mummys, werewolfs, frankenstein´s monster, skeletons, etc. Emo scientist Dracula is not what you expect from Konami games, even if whole thing with Alucard´s mother is portrayed in 1 game, it was a minor part of the plot, aimed to explain Alucard past trough succubus visions, but never as origin story for Dracula, who is a demon, not a old senile grampa.

Alucard saying "year of your Lord" to Trevor is so silly considering half of the promo art that exists for the guy is him either looking angsty posing around Crosses or clutching Crucifixes/Rosary beads.

I thought it was a common saying

It's "Year of Our Lord" which is taken from the Latin AD.

I get it, your still being immature, but I get it

It is a tongue and cheek way of saying I don't worship your God derived from the common English translation of Anno Domini.

>I get it, your still being immature, but I get it
Rly? I mean, the show start with balls jokes. Is pretty much a juvenile, angsty and edgy take over Castlevania lore which says a lot.

They’re still treating it better than Konami

>With all of the homos saying "muh feelz", I'm starting to believe that thing about microplastics emasculating men in a high rate.
You sound ridiculous and I want you to know it.

>saying this
>after all the shit pachinko games and garbage phone games Konami has done
kys

The Pachinko machines had very good OSTs at least

so this new season is all original not related with any of the games right? because nothing of what they showed makes sense in the game's canon.

Attached: 981ed1ceaca937caf14c47a41c75d40f.jpg (256x256, 10K)

Nothing more emasculating than a man mourning his wife apparently.

Heaven forbid you show any emotion other than anger.

Right. Like they've said since day one, this is their own thing and they're going to deviate from the games. We've known this since before the show even aired.

>They’re still treating it better than Konami
>after all the shit pachinko games and garbage phone games Konami has done
I hope you both bought original games, since one of the reasons of why Konami is not making traditional castlevania games is because of low sales. Indeed one of the reasons of licensing the IP to do this shitty show is because is not making money anymore on videogames.

>this is their own thing and they're going to deviate from the games. We've known this since before the show even aired.

Good.

Bitch I bought the majority of the original games as they came out.

I know why Dracula cares and why Alucard cares but why should I care? We get nothing but constant Dracula dicksucking as "character development" instead of understand Dracula's relationship with Lisa because it was more important to remind us "church bad" again.

I don't play Pachinko why should I care?

Apparently you shouldn't care if that is your attitude, go back to playing the original games cause that's all you're going to be happy with.

>Apparently you shouldn't care if that is your attitude
I don't know what you mean that unless you are asking me to consoom. Pachiniko machines aren't going to effect the series.

And you think a netflix series is? One people have to pay to see, that isnt even on real television?

>One people have to pay to see
It is from a Netflix subscription and any potential Castlevania cartoon would be based on this garbage. There also many normalfags who think that this is a good video game adaptation and a shining example for other adaptations. Expect the Netflix DMC cartoon to have the same treatment.

Actually quite liked the character designs in the Pachislot retelling of CV3.

Reddit please leave

Don't forget Castlebro. This IS the Tumblr board. Mostly everyone here is mentally ill and just ship gay couples all day

It was minor but important especially since both Alucard and Dracula talk about her when they confront each other and after Alucard beats his father. Lisa's portrait was also in the game booklet with her own bio as if she was an important character even though her only appearance is in a scene that can be skipped.

>Castlevania used to be one of my three big universes to bond with fellow loners over
Are you really coming on Yea Forums and bitching about people talking about the only Yea Forums related material the franchise has?
If you want to discuss the video games, you should try Yea Forums - Video Games
They hate the animated series over there anyway

Yep and this might be the last time they're together since Adi said he wanted to move the story forward at some point and adapt other time periods.

I enjoyed season 1 but this show could really stand to take more material from the games. It veers dangerously close to Penders Sonic or the Resident Evil movie, what with how much focus the vampire OCs get.

Hopefully Season 3 gives us a proper Belmont-Dracula showdown.

>It was minor but important especially since both Alucard and Dracula talk about her when they confront each other and after Alucard beats his father.
The whole dialogue is about to define Alucard´s character and motivations, not Dracula, who is trying to convince Alucard to join him. Dracula in the game is depicted as a demon, a chaos creature, not a tragic figure, you don´t have to feel sorry for him, he should be like Sauron, not aways present, but a goal.

>Lisa's portrait was also in the game booklet with her own bio as if she was an important character even though her only appearance is in a scene that can be skipped.
Every character that haves a dialogue line in the game haves a portrait by Ayami Kojima. But again, is a minor character.

This, I hate OC´s because castlevania have a lot of iconic characters. ¿where the fuck is Grant and Death?

Anymore spoilers?

Man, It sucks that the fanbase is so specifically attached to this group of characters. Worried it's going to influence the showrunners to cause what should have been a legacy series to start spinning it's wheels in place.

pics

Castlevania animated series in Netflix is a huge, bad joke that has nothing to do with the franchise. Sure, it has nice design and action animation and some enjoyable references, they made lots of very bad, drastic changes at the story and characters that personally turned me off. For example:

- They turned Carmilla from a royal servant of Dracula to one of the main antagonists of the show. Also they turned her into an unlikable, misandrist, feminazi bitch.
- They blackwashed Isaac and they gave him a BLM-style background story. They even had a bunch of white people telling him again and again that his life doesn’t matters, probably because of his skin color.
- Hector was the protagonist of Castlevania: Curse of Darkness. In the animated series they turned him into a huge joke as Carmilla’s brainless puppy that gets easily manipulated emotionally and doesn’t fights back against her at the end of the show when Carmilla beat him down despite his strength superiority because “Women’s Power!”.
- Toward the end of this season, Dracula turns into a tired man with weak will that lets the commanders of his army do as they please, something that lead into some of them betraying him.
- They turned Alucard into an immature brat with all these “Fuck you!” jokes that make him look like the edgy Dante from Devil May Cry reboot.

In conclusion? It’s a crappy show that had great potentials but got ruined because of the reasons I mentioned and its shoved political agendas. If you are Castelvania fan, avoid it. Even if you’re not Castlevania fan, still avoid it.

-not weak willed. they mention this in multiple ways. tired. dead inside. hasnt fed on blood in over a year. he is starving to death and literally sleeping his life away.

It was a tribute to the movie icons, classicvanias and even metroidvanias are more action focused than story driven. Castlevania IS a movie tribute.

I'm saying they should move on the the next Belmont. What the fuck do OCs have to do with this?

I like the guys pretending Castlevania has the deepest lore when most of the Belmonts are literally just palette swaps of each other.

>but if you don't like Castlevania's story why even watch an adaptation

People liked Castlevania for the gameplay and atmosphere. The first is irrelevant in a TV show, the latter the show manages perfectly. If you guys got what you wanted the show would be unwatchable.

>most of the Belmonts are literally just palette swaps of each other.
Of course, most of them aren't from character driven games. (Ironically, once characterization was more of a thing, it stopped being about Belmonts.) They are pretty much blank slates.
But if you don't give them a chance, they will stay that way forever. Kind of self fulfilling logic.

You can get blond from one dark haired parent and one blond parent, its just more rare, no idea what that guy was on about.

this desu

based

Interesting how careful your language is.
Most of the later games that actually have decent lore don't star Belmonts.

All I want is a minimalist action cartoon about Simon Belmont going through most of Super CV 4 with barely any dialogue

Attached: bufflaptop.jpg (622x615, 42K)

>Most of the later games that actually have decent lore don't star Belmonts.
Aria and Dawn of Sorrow don't even have good stories by video game standards. Only by Metroidvania ones; a genre that barely has stories.

that sounds really boring

Sounds great.
It's a shame we don't have Genndy on this shit.

>All I want is a minimalist action cartoon about Simon Belmont going through most of Super CV 4 with barely any dialogue
That's fair. if that's what you want then the show is definitely going to be a disappointment, This is a fair criticism and a fine opinion articulated well. But it is not "muh lore, muh OCs"

Huh, it’s almost like a TV show should expand the tidbits of story in the game instead of going into vampire Game of Thrones.

>Game of Thrones invented intrigue
based and redditpilled

>Only by Metroidvania ones;
Until it's adapted in some way, why would you compare it to anything else? That's exactly what it is.
I don't understand this argument of staying within Castlevania 3's vicinity because the rest of Castlevania has uninteresting story. Castlevania 3 was mostly blank slate shit that was up to interpretation too. That's why Castlevania Judgement made up this whole love triangle thing to make the characters more interesting (funny thing is the third wheel isn't even Alucard in that game, it's Grant, who isn't even in the Netflix show).

Feels wrong desu

Incels will seethe when Sypha is blacked by lsaac

You do realize that every time Dracula dies he's brought back with less humanity than before by the castle, right? He didn't go full demon until at least after getting killed by Trevor in Castlevania 3 since he was still very much just a grieving dick nozzle for his wife in Lament of Innocence. A wife who Lisa greatly resembled.

Issac isn't going after Sypha and Trevor, he's coming for Hector.

Based monologues

>Isaac rapes Sypha and uses her to host a demon
Pretty hot tbqh

>There’s also a more obvious introduction of sex in these episodes, something that was only really teased but never shown in previous seasons; in Season 3, sex acts as a stand-in for power, a tool for manipulation, and as a physical manifestation of growing attraction between characters. There’s no better showcase of this than in the season’s penultimate episode, which features the show’s best editing so far. Viewers are not ready for this one.

I'm assuming they mean all that femdom shit with Hector? Lame, if they're not holding back the rating, I want full-blown horrific, creepily sexual monstrosities like Garahm's demonic form, not Warren Ellis putting in shit from his SuicideGirls fanfics.

Yeah, this would be fucking cool. Gennedy-meets-Hellsing.

Lisa is the only theme/bond between them, SOTN story is about Alucard, not Dracula. Alucard/Dracula relationship is shaped in the same way of Luke Skywalker and Darth Vader, Alucard is the protagonist and Dracula is the antagonist, even he try to convince him to get into his side using her memory, because again, this says more about Alucard´s backstory than Dracula. "lisa forgive me" is pretty much an equivalent to "tell your sister she was right", a line to show a change on the character.

Alucard´s mom is just a Macguffin in SOTN

>Dracula died. Dracula will presumably come back because he always does. I'm going to assume that some point in the interim Dracula meets and befriends Death.
That could be pretty based, sadly the showrunners are more interested in OC, shitty femdom and dumb jokes.

It's a good one tbqh. They really picked the VA's well for the main three.

Apparently Saint Germain in this is some kind of quack Soothsayer, not the CoD dandy time traveller trying to ensure that The Battle of 1999 happens.

That said, always nice to see Billy Nighy get some more work.

Attached: Cod_offart58.jpg (360x450, 23K)

u realise thats what the feminists wanted? Women characters who actually did things?

>I like the guys pretending Castlevania has the deepest lore when most of the Belmonts are literally just palette swaps of each other.
Found the guy who never played castlevania, since you can´t say each chara is just a color palette swap: Richter, SC4 from X68000 Simon or Trevor.

While I don't like Netflixvania at all, I kind of feel like they did the right thing stripping away some of the latter day Igarashi elements, e.g. Vampire Killer being powered by the soul of the clan founder's dead waifu, a time travelling Englishman dressed in Victorian clothing and Dracula getting sealed into a Solar eclipse before reincarnating as a Japanese teenager. I mean, I love all that silly anime shit, but general audiences would be left hating it.

>That said, always nice to see Billy Nighy get some more work.
reddit go home.

>I kind of feel like they did the right thing stripping away some of the latter day Igarashi elements
so, why call it Castlevania? it could be a whole new IP: Apuvania.

All three are great actors and certainly the two male leads deserved better than the Hobbit and BSG's writing as their break out roles.

Bill Nighy is based but it's hard to counter these quads.

I can't believe there are people that care about any Castlevania besides SOTN honestly.

Yeah, but just that he existed as the first Belmont. Nothing about Sara, Walter, Mathias and so on

In the following seasons I hope they focus on the main heroes more, otherwise I fear it'll end up like pic related.

Medusa looking like "Why'd I agree to this bullshit?"

Fuck feminists.

Not him, but lore and story aren't necessarily the same thing. The characters and present events of those games might not play out in a partularly interesting way, but introducing the background details of the power of Castlevania itself (Aria) or the idea that if the dark lord is ever completely physically destroyed, it will leave a vacuum for the next to take his place (Dawn) are very interesting and add more depth to the franchise itself.
I find all those things to be very fun and interesting. I don't see the issue.

3, Bloodlines and Rondo of Blood are all fantastic classic platformers.
The DS games are fantastic metroidvanias.
A one hit wonder this series is not.

I interpreted that stuff more as a Warren Ellis take on the painful ignorance and illiteracy of your average 13th century peasant. Poop, cocks, and violence were the funniest goddamn things in the world to your average serf. Thus he presents us with the scenario of Trevor, a man of former nobility, drowning his sorrows with a bunch of goat-fuckers to show how low he has fallen.

>Poop, cocks, and violence were the funniest goddamn things in the world to your average serf.
I love that wee keep finding out scrolls and parchments from that time that were nothing but doodles of dicks or people having sex.

There's leaks that a big part of the sex stuff is the female vampire manipulating Hector with sex so those that wanted that will be happy.

And its confirmed Alucard never reunites with Sypha or Trevor this season.

I get that Hector was basically just not-Alucard and was a bit of a nothing character, but why the fuck even bother using him at all if you're just gonna make him OC?

Its hard to tell by the cryptic spoilers but he has some kind of weird character development by the end of the new season so many he finally mans up to the vampire bitches?

And Trevor and Sypha wholesome babymaking sex?

Attached: 555.png (690x774, 43K)

yes

Sypha getting her shithole stretched and abused by Trevors fat werewolf cock?

no

This looks so bad, like one of those "How to draw anime" books from the mid-2000s.

Why not commission a main image from Kojima?

Whoops.

It looks fine, whats wrong?

>Grant will never drop in.

Who the fuck is Grant and why do you faggots obsess over him so much?

the fem/homo gaze on trevor, goddamn

Trevors black outfit is pretty dope

i thought hector was an autistic manchild, why is he interestes in femdom sex now

>The picture is from his perspective

I know it's been well-received by general audiences and polarizing with Western fans of the games, but how has it been received by Japanese fans? All I know is that a lot of them were complaining on Twitter in the early days about some of the VA choices (Trevor being voiced by Alucard's longtime VA, Alucard being voiced by Richter's latter-day VA, no Wakamoto Dracula etc.). Did they rike it?

cause hes sexy as fuck user

they love the show from what ive seen (theres tons of fanart and fan comics) but despise the voice acting for the reasons you mentioned. ironically they prefer the english version because of the massive japanese va fuckup

don't you mean hector huddled up beneath the vamp bitch all submissive like?

>At the same time, a larger sense of dread also builds as the events of the season culminate in a finale that exposes Trevor, Sypha, and company to the largest threat that they’ve ever faced.

What is it?

Hector's sex scene leak

legion

Legion's been seen in the teasers, so maybe that.

does he actually get laid?

According to some spoilers yeah

Gonna watch it now thanks to you lot, cheers.

We got another one

Apparently he enters into some weird sadomasochistic sexual relationship with one of Carmilla's OC vampire posse who takes a liking to him.

It's basically just Castlevania in name-only now.

>this is the best sypha r34

Why?

Every boy has a kink, user. Some times you just have to strip him out of his armor and make him into a man the old fashioned way.

Simon Belmont being 8-10 Samurai Jack style episodes of the first two games would be neat

Probably my favorite character of S2 tbqh

Do people really like season 2? I feel like it really fell apart and I don't care about Carmilla and gang one bit.

I liked it but I enjoy the actual character exposition whereas I know that bores some people, like all the time in the Belmont library I thought was interesting. I loved watching Alucard trying to hit on Sypha and crash and burn. And I guess I enjoyed the "vampire game of thrones" politics stuff too, idk.

This. It's a very slow burn of a season and you'll either like that or you won't. It definitely felt like they were setting up for S3 so I'll watch that and then judge the show if it's more of the same.

Wow, rational and level headed discussers

bihood is the master sexuality

>season 4 comes out
>Hector and his vampfu are having some kinky ass sex
>Carmilla sees their relationship as unecessary and even gets jealous
>Bitch locks away Hector's one remaining joy in life
>Hector becomes the absolute unit he is in the games to free his waifu, bitch slap a returned Isaac, and have his first vanilla round of sex with his babe
you know it to be true

>I'm really just angry that "my" favorite vidya game fandom got squashed by the mainsteam audience
Isn't that more Konami's fault than anyone else? Would anyone still be talking about Castlevania without the show?

Ok, what do you like? Impress me.

>Wow, rational and level headed discussers
That sounds more like sycophancy. I have no issue on how the heroes developed (not that I liked the Enemies of God thing). The character development of the heroes was more natural. The villains on the other hand just outright start conversations based their feelings. Most of the focus of season 2 was on the villains yet character development was handled in the mist blunt way possible. We have several scenes dedicated to telling us Dracula is upset because his wife was killed while the heroes motives aren't expanded beyond "it is the right thing to do". The vampire GoT was completely pointless because it was basically "Everyone wanted to do Carmilla's plan and Dracula doesn't care." yet there is some conflict.

You mean Yea Forums stuff? I like usual stuff like All-Star Superman, Justice League the New Frontier, Gravity Falls, the DCAU, TMNT 2003/bits of IDW (still have to catch-up), Maus, Futurama, I could go on but I'm not sure what either of us would prove by me randomly bringing up things that I liked.

SotN Dracula didn't have any delusions that Lisa approved of this.

How do you think old school persona fans feel at time about P3-P5?

I hope things get better for Alucard some how this season, even if he doesn't get to see Trevor and Sypha again, maybe he can at least become friends with those two people that come to be mentored (still feels like an odd side plot but whatever).

Awe hell yeah.

I miss comically asshole-ish villains like this in videogames. He's such a bastard, you can't help but love him.

>watch show hoping for cool monster fights and hammy Dracula speeches with a neat soundtrack
>get four-ish of the first and none of the rest
