Which will be more kino the lighhouse or Midsommar.

The VVitch was based what’s this about?

Is this going to be based off of the Eilean Mòr/Flannan Isles Lighthouse Disappearance in 1900?

so its gonna be chuthlu related?

Oh no no

I doubt it, it seems to be about old folktales.

I don't give a fuck, he's autistically obsessed with accuracy and detail. The VVitch was kino and I'm intrigued by anything hes working on

also got a lazy eye

>'accuracy' (whatever that means) and detail make a good movie
No wonder you call movies 'kino', must be an election tranny

> “The Lighthouse” was shot on 35mm film and has been described by distributor A24 as a “fantasy horror story set in the world of old sea-faring myths.” No more plot details have been revealed."

Meanwhile K-Stew is doing...?

Eggers is also developing a "medieval epic" film called The Knight and a mini-series based on the life of Rasputin

Every celebrity and their mum has done a Reddit ama you retard. Fucking Arnold Schwarzenegger has done 3. Is he 'soi incarnate'?

>K-Stew
Based time traveling 13 year old girl form 2011

pussy porn

Black and white for what fucking reason? Muh art?

:3 *holds up spork*

Is this a story about those lightkeepers that dissapeard from the lighthouse and later their journals were found and they were wirting about some terrible storm that never happened?

>That’s the closest I’ve come to punching a director. However much I love Robert [Eggers], there was a point where I did five takes walking across the beach, and after a while I was like, ‘What the fuck is going on? I feel like you’re just spraying a fire hose in my face.’ And he was like, ‘I am spraying a fire hose in your face.’ It was like some kind of torture.

Based

I'm saying The Lighhouse

Based
Cringe

How based can one man be?

didnt they do a movie about that already with the guy from den of theives?

Historical accuracy and obsessive detail from the director is indicative of passion and not just a paycheck. Passion goes a long way in making a good movie.

Kill your self contrarian, hating everything doesn't make you interesting.

I personally loved the film VVitch.
Really looking forward to it.

What is this response even supposed to mean?
Is this some new Eurotrash non-argument?

Looks kino as fuck

looks good eh

Historical accuracy, detail and passion don't make a good movie try again

Pattinson is a shit actor that never had a good movie to his name

Looks like Chevalier Noir: the meme come alive

>Arnold
>not soi incarnate

Because it looks good, dummy

They look so good.

Wasn't he doing Nosferatu?

If it is so good, why wasn't it accepted into the competition for the Palme d'Or and has instead been relegated to the Directors Fortnight?

Does it come with a soilent bottle?

That's a good sign right? They don't allow good movies into Cannes from what I heard.Only McDonalds arthouse and soi horror are allowed.

Herzog's movie isn't in competition or Grand Prix either. do you think it's going to suck as well?

Herzog is just a poor man's Zack Snyder.

go watch good time

pretty funny. you're alright.

Has Willem Dafoe ever NOT been in a kino?

Body of Evidence

Every time an A24 shitty horror movie comes out its the same thing
>redditors cream their pants because it doesnt have jumpscares
>pseudointellecuals call it kino and 'the best of the decade'
>call anyone who doesn't praise a cape shitter
All a24 horror movies are the same thing, they are all about either depression, paranoia or some other mental shit, they are all slow, bleak and uneventful, they all have some wacky or creepy ending to justify calling it a horror movie instead of the drama student film most of them are, the soundtrack/score overuses strings, they all have some hamfisted 'meaning'.
At this point they are as cliche as the conjuring

Attached: 1555307713765.png (454x520, 13K)

Wow, they and this looks really good!

But they are good, at least better than any other horror coming out, so who cares?

boondock saints

what is good movie, contra man?

Ouch

I'm ok if everybody is white in this film, if not they can fuck off

Whatre you retarded?

She also worked with some decent directors such as Kelly Reichardt, Olivier Assayas and Ang Lee.
That Knight sounds great.
The script for Midsommar is not that great. It might be a good film but the script was disappointing.

Midsommar worse than hereditary, eh?

Yeah now I remember the script was leaked. Can you tell what the movie is about. I don't mind getting spoiled.

I remember people saying the script was on par with hereditary.

Be honest, the criticisms you gave are just a way to justify you're contrarian opinion. The fact that you can't admit something is good just because a group of people with whom you don't want to identify with like that thing shows a weakness of character.

Good Time, The Rover, High Life, The Lost City of Z and Cosmopolis are all good.
There are no horror films in competition usually. Also Eggers is not a Cannes regular. Last year Climax, Leave No Trace, Mandy, Birds Of Passage and The World is Yours were in Directors Fortnight. They were good, just because something isn't in competition that doesn't mean that it's bad.

>Biggest cinematic event in the history of cinema is happening
>Talking about an irrelevant black and white movie

I can almost smell the Cheetos and hotpocket from all of you.

>shot in black and white
dropped.

Well i thought Hereditary was somehow surprising especially the car death. Midsommar is literally Wicker Man.
Bunch of students go to village in Sweden. The main character is Dani she has a bf called Christian, he wants to break up with her but can't because of her family tragedy. He wants to go to Swedish village where he was invited by one of his friends, he doesn't tell Dani but she finds out so he takes her with him. The Swedish village has some special tradition which occurs once every 90 years or something like that. The villagers have festivities and bunch of unsettling stuff happens. Drama between friends happens. The villagers also use drugs so there are some scenes with that. At the end everybody dies and Dani wins some competition and they crown her a queen. She chooses to kill Christian, who cheated on her under influence of some magic and his own will. He is paralysed and placed inside bear skin, then put into some house. Rest of the friends except for the Swedish one were killed and are also put in the house. Then the house is put on fire and Dani watches. The end.

>black and white
>reddit eggers
Oh no no no I can smell the Yerba mate and so y from here

If The Thing, Rosemary's Baby and Alien had been released by A24 today you would be saying the same thing.

Have sex

now this is kino

Yes

Dilate.

Based MCUchads. We shouldn't let this dishonest filmmakers and their shite studios ever get any proper discussion. These films are anti-cinema McDonalds atthouse filmmaking.

I hope it's mermaids and we get an Anya Taylor-Joy cameo

>that font
too childish.

Cthulhu when

> (You)
>I hope it's mermaids and we get an Anya Taylor-Joy cameo

I'm down, as long as we get weird humanoid mermaids or regular mermaids with tits out. I seethe when they do the hair bra/ seashell bra thing

based on the fact that The Witch is about twelve times better than Heredditary, I’m gonna go with The Lighthouse by a dozen country miles

t. Jason Blum

>The Lost City of Z
That movie is terrible.

No, it's not and Pattinson is very good in it.

it’s not terrible but it is Embrace Of The Serpent lite

No, it's poorly written and acted garbage.
The only similarities between the two is they're set in the Amazon.

The writing isn't the greatest part of the film and Charlie Hunnam was quite bad but Pattinson, Sienna Miller and Tom Holland were good. Also it's not garbage.

It's much easier to make it look good, so you get better results from essentially less work. It's also a stylistic choice that fit the setting, I don't think it's overused at all in cinema either so I don't mind.

I'll be happy if Midsommar is a better Wicker Man remake than Wicker Man 2006

Just like me!

have you seen The Lure, anons?

>It stars Willem Dafoe and Robert Pattinson
Say no more. I'm watching this.

A tall order.

Just imagine.

That's quite probable. There were some neat details in the script but as a whole i thought it was disappointing.

Oops, larger version.
